The Theraputic Society Is Destroying Civilisation

Many of the problems afflicting Britain and its European neighbours and transatlantic cousins appear to be related to what in the recent past has been called The Theraputic Society, Nanny State and paternalistic liberalism. As government (and with it the amount of tax we pay) grows, corporate industry and private business is increasingly coming to resemble the public sector, ruled less by economic rationality than by an intrusive bureaucracy functioning increasingly like an HR department.

Concepts like profit and dividends and values like commitment to quality have become alien in thisd environment; replaced by concerns about Diversity,Inclusivity and Equality; Environmental Social Governance goals; staff welfare and mental health issues and the instruction to “just be kind”.

What is driving this explosion of worklessness. Many of those now receiving incapacity benefits rather than working for wages have been diagnosed as disabled because of mental health conditions, particularly depression. The number of Personal Independence Payment claims based on psychiatric illness rising over 50pc since 2019. Some 1.3 million people now fall into this category and as well as generous benefits are gettin medication and talking therapy when the most effective cure for their condition is a good kick up the arse.

As well as the rise in numbers of people permanently disabled by mental health issues, psychiatric illnesses account for over a quarter of all sick leave in the large organisations.

In the HR state, attempts to shift people into employment are frowned upon as unkind, even though work can be beneficial for mental health problems in the same way as a good kick up the arse can.. And so the taxpayer continues to fork out for workers who don’t work, public services decline, and the tax burden grows.

Once you start to see the growing power of Just Be Kind culture, it soon becomes obvious that it has permeated all levels of society. It’s in the way we speak to each other, with normal, everyday interactions increasingly governed by rules on what ideas and opinions may 'trigger' a sensitive listener, or what level of rudeness incurs civil or criminal liability.

Rather than taking offence – with the implication that we can choose how to respond, including shrugging ill-judged words off – the idea that we are actually harmed by insensitive language has been firmly planted in the minds of many people. And the HR state intervenes to protect us, even to the extent of telling us what we are offended by. Judges are handing out jail sentences to people who are rude online of simply fail to use a person's preferred pronouns, juries and tribunrals are handing massive payouts to those offended by their colleagues at work.

It doesn’t matter if that offence is given with good reason. Demanding adequate performance from highly paid civil servants and employees is out. And getting rid of employees isn’t always an option either: in one notable case, a judge found in favour of an employee complaining about being let go after taking 808 sick days and picking up £96,000 in sick pay).

It is a common misconception that more laws mean greater protection. Legislation has become increasingly complicated and ambiguous for employers. There comes a point when the added benefit is questionable and must be outweighed by the burden which it places on business. This is especially the case for small and medium sized employers who may not have a specialist, in-house HR function staffed by people whose job is to be aware of all the issues surrounding workplace interactions.

In the past twenty years there has been a continuous flow of new employment and human rights laws passed ranging from the new Agency Workers Regulations, the Age Discrimination Regulations to European case law on rights to accrue holidays even while on long term sick leave. New employment legislation is estimated to have added £70 billion per annum to costs for businesses over the last decade.’

The costs of employing people and doing business is bankrupting businesses, and yet the government has confirmed at least 10 new (HR) laws for 2024’

We, along with several other major economic powers have elections to appoint a new governments later this year though because these people are products of the university system and are advised by those who have spend  their entire lives detached from reality in the cocoon of the scholarly environment, will the new lot do any better that the ones who created the current mess. We the voters know what to do of course:

It is necessary to curtail major areas of government spending: welfare, health, education and defence. Emergency cuts, or at least freezes, in welfare benefits and public sector pay are imperative, the kind of measures seen recently in struggling central European countries. We must abandon virtue signalling policies like 'net zero', open borders immigration and the funding of foreign wars.

If welfare benefits are not pegged to wage increases then there will be no incentive to work and more people, though able bodied, will claim disability status due to mental health issues.

Longer-term reforms that reduce the scope of government are needed. A new government could start by tackling public sector pensions (a liability of over £1 trillion), move on to welfare reform and then health and education,  cutting waste, terminating the jobs of diversity officers, sensitivity advisers and racial awareness tutors, and getting rid of the costly bureaucrats who compile statistics to justify these expenditures.

And let’s not forget regulation. Removing red tape – for example, the new gender pay audits – would reduce the government payroll while lowering costs for businesses. But no-one running for high office will have the testicular fortitude to do any of this, so they in turn will be removed…..and so will the next ones and so on until someone gets the message.

Legal Complaint Filed Against Food Retailer’s “Orwellian” Facial Recognition Surveillance SystemA report last week that a major UK retailer, The Co - Operative Society (Co - OP) was planning to install in - store surveillance systems with facial recognition capabilities, supposedly to reduce shoplifting by repeat offenders, caused quite a stir in the media and the privacy protection community. Reprieve For Free Speech - UK Online Safety Bill Sent Back To Committee
It s gratifying for supporters of free speech that the UK Government's Online Safety Bill, which had been described as a charter for censors, has been ripped apart and will have to be redrafted entirely apart from the title.
When the House of Commons the Speaker, savages a Bill it must be bad, so from the moment Lindsey Hoyle told MPs that the bill was 'all over the shop' (a good old northern phrase from a northern politician,), and that at least half its clauses "would be getting the treatment," in particular that measure which aimed to force Social Media platforms to remove content which was "legal but harmful," ...

Julian Assange Loses Appeal: British High Court Accepts U.S. Request to Extradite Him for Trial

Press freedom groups have warned Assange’s prosecution is a grave threat. The Biden DOJ ignored them, and today won a major victory toward permanently silencing the pioneering transparency activist. In a London courtroom on Friday morning, Julian Assange suffered a devastating blow to his quest for freedom. A two-judge appellate panel of the United Kingdom’s High Court ruled that the U.S.’s request to extradite Assange to the U.S. to stand trial on espionage charges is legally valid.

As the COVID narrative crumbles under the weight of evidence that the vaccines do not work, masks are useless and lockdowns kill more than they save a new scaremongering narrative - or a revamped old one - is emerging as the threat of war with russia is the latest fear and panic vehicle to scare the people into compliance with tyranny. Why Are The World Government Schemes, Agenda 21 and Agends 30 blanked by big media?
Since the early days on the old platform we have from time to time raised the issues of Agenda 21 and Agenda 30, The New World Order, and the push for a global, authoritarian, socialist government. Any mention of these things in online forums is certain to get the author accused of being a conspiracy theorist, a right wing extremist, a nutcase, a young earth creationist and much worse.

The Robotification Of Human Society Is being Implemented

Majority of the British people feel that migration is too high’
As the Conservative government come under fire for their failure to deliver on promises to control immigration and stay the flow of illegal immigrants from France in small, inflatable boats, the topic is once again at the forefront of political debate.
Among the people raising the topic on media platforms this week is Professor Matthew Goodwin. A Politics academic at The University of Kent, Prof Goodwin declared today that a majority of people in Britain think imigration levels are too high.

“Science” no longer trustworthy: BMJ suggests treating all health research as fraudulent until proven genuine
Former The British Medical Journal (BMJ) editor Richard Smith penned an opinion piece suggesting health research has become so corrupted people should just assume it is fraudulent. Entitled “Time to assume that health research is fraudulent until proven otherwise?” Smith’s article reveals how research fraud is a systemic problem that dates back decades – and is only getting worse.

Managers and senior teachers at the exclusive Boswell's School in Chelmsford, UK faced a wave of criticism after withdrawing from Harry Potter author JK Rowling the honour of having one of the school's houses named after her and have now shot themselves in the foot again by naming as Rowling's replacement a former Olympic athlete, Kelly Holmes, who won two gold medals and who has recently voiced some strong opinions on the policy of allowing formely male transgender athletes to compete in women's events, ever though the athletes involved still have their male wedding tackle. #211115-doctors"> Why have we doctors been silent? — by Lucie Wilk

AS an NHS hospital doctor, I have had a front-row seat as the drama of the coronavirus pandemic has unfolded. It has been a year and a half of confusion, frustration and anger for me as I’ve watched our profession drawn into complicity with what I anticipate will be regarded as one of the most egregious public health disasters in history. I have watched as ‘the science’ has been presented on the national stage flanked by Union Jack flags as an unassailable truth. For something so apparently inviolable, it seems to shift and change disconcertingly from week to week ...

Anyone Who Fancies A Bet Will Be Put On A Register, Just Like Sex Offenders.
In another signal that Boris Johnson's government has sold out to globalist ambitions and is lurching headlong towards fascism, The Information Commissioner’s Office has announced that as part of their pursuit of a Single View of the Customer (SVoC), they plan to create a database in which all “behavioural data” of people who enjoy a bet ...

Minorities ‘See Countryside as a White Environment', Says BBC
According to its rural affairs programme Countryfile – where, thanks to uber woke presenters like Chris Packham, the emphasis is very much on the first syllable — “many Black, Asian and minority ethnic groups see the countryside as being a white environment.”

Racist Student Union Officer says 'I Can't be Racist'
We have often made points about the hypocroisy of the left, but a Student Union diversity officer from London beats all comers. Having tweeted 'kill all white men' she justifies herself by saying that as an ethnic minority woman she cannot be racist or bigoted.

Multi-Cultural England: Are You Feeling The Progressive Diversity That's Enriching Your Life Visit some parts of most British cities with large immigrant populations and you will be hard pressed to recognize it, certainly my granparents would struggle to recognize the towns they knew. Appeasement of foreigners has destroyed the character of our communities but as usual the political left advise solving the problem by doing over again the things that caused it.

US Soldiers Forced To Sit Through P C 'White Privilege Presentation. Not Happy Bunnies
The U.S. Army is investigating an unauthorized diversity training presentation on “white privilege” shown to hundreds of Georgia soldiers, USA Today reported, citing an Army spokeswoman. The Equal Opportunity training presentation was shown to about 400 soldiers of the 67th Signal Battalion at Fort Gordon on Thursday, according to Captain Lindsay Roman.

If a black person acts like a twat is it racist to say he's a twat.
Examples of US rapper Kayne West behaving in ways that show what a cupid stunt he is occur to frequently for mainstream media to report them any more it seems. Or maybe it's just that because Kayne is an African American those mainstream journos were afraid of being called racist if they report his latest fuckwittery.

The British Jihad, Islamism And The Curse Of Multiculturalism.
As the world recoils in horror at images posted on the internet of an American journalist being cruelly and brutally beheaded by an (allegedly) British terrorist fighting for the extremists of the Islamic State in northern Iraq, we ask is the left wing folly of multiculturalism coming home to roost.
