Europe: A Sinking Ship Any Sane Nation Would Be Afraid To Re - Embark On

Many opinion writers in mainstream news and commenter in alt_media are pushing the lie that the majority of Britons want us to rejoin the EU. This 'Brexit was a disaster' narrative is based on results from a few dodgy opinion polls in which very small samples of the populare were interviewed and the questions asked displayed a marked pro - EU bias.

Insofar as opinion polls have any significance, the polls that count are voting intention polls for the next General election (still three and a half years away and if a week is a long time in politics three and a half years is forever,) and currently, according to the Politico poll of polls Reform, the ani - EU party is streets ahead on 29% with Labour on 19%, the Conservatives at 18%, Greens 14%,  Lib Dems, 12% and a plethora of fringe parties, cranks, nutters, one issue fanatincs and the SNP taking up the slack. Then there are the 25% of those entitled to vote who simply can't be arsed.

Assuming the can't be arsed party's supporters split evenly between Return and Eff Off Europe, that gives a comfortable majority for the status quo. And quite rightly too. 

All the economic and political evidence says Europe is doomed. Not just a bit shaky, but up shit creek good and proper doomed, a sinking ship, a busted flush, a three legged donkey. And the kicker? It's trying to drag us Brits down with it, like a mate who's had one too many at the pub and insists on a piggyback home.

Mario Draghi’s major report to the EU Commission noted that Europe's industrial base is "static", bureaucratic code for shrinking. The German economy propped up the EU for decades but now, thanks to mass immigration, out of control welfare budgets, insane policies like Net Zero, Germany finds itself in the same dire straits as the rest of Europe. Defence spending A pathetic 2.2% of GDP, while the Yanks chuck 3.5% at it and the South Koreans nearly 5%. Patents? Europe’s slipped from second to fourth globally, with China filing more than the whole West combined. No wonder. Over in Brussels, they've got 100 tech laws policed by 80 agencies – the Digital Services Act, AI Act, Cyber Whatever. Xavier Niel nails it when he says:_

"If I want to build an AI company, I'll go where it's easier in terms of regulation. And right now, that's not Europe."

Spot on. Europe’s unicorns? One-third scarpered to the US between 2008 and 2021. No EU firm's cracked €100bn market cap in 50 years. Meanwhile, Silicon Valley's churning out trillion-pound behemoths like they're the standard size for tech firms.

And the industries? Solar power: Germany was king in the 2000s, 150,000 jobs buzzing. Then China subsidised eight kinds of crap out of it (an amazing feat as there are only seven kinds of crap known to science,), slashed prices by half, and now owns 90% of the market. Europe's slapping tariffs on the surplus, but it's like putting a plaster on a severed artery. Europe's only area of economic growth is in benefits paid to unemployable asylum seekers.

Cars? BYD's doubling sales in the EU despite 45% duties, because they bother innovating for what punters actually want: longer wheelbases, in-car karaoke. Europe? Still churning out diesel slugs for the school run. Chemicals? Jim Ratcliffe's Ineos is getting hammered by cheap Chinese imports and "bonkers" green rules that punish you for going green. Energy costs? Sky-high, thanks to self-inflicted CO2 taxes that just shift the filth to Beijing. As Tom Crotty says, it's "lost jobs and increased CO2." Genius.

And the UK? Post-Brexit, we're not exactly roaring but at least we're not lashed to the EU’s Titanic. Half our goods trade's still with the EU, making us their third-biggest mug after Uncle Sam and China, but rejoining? The Rejoin camp, led by Starmer, would hand us back to the pre Brexit regulatory meat grinder that sparked the whole divorce in the first place.  

Europe's got talent and money – high savings, wealthy nations with investments ticking up interest and dividends despite the rot. A crisis or a shock to the system, like Milei in Argentina might get things moving for them. But what about us us? We're the plucky escapee, free to pivot in the direction of market forces, not drowning in directives.

Rejoining now would be like a medieval wiccan volunteering for the dunking stool. Why would any sensible country want to do that?

Europe is doomed. Not just a bit wobbly, mind you – properly, catastrophically, "pass the cyanide" doomed. Economic stagnation, woke ideologies, mass immigration by professional benefit claimants And the kicker? It's trying to drag us Brits down with it, and our Dear Leader Starmer is fully on board with the project.

And the UK? Post-Brexit, we're not exactly roaring but at least we're not lashed to the EU’s Titanic. Half our goods trade's still with the EU, making us their third-biggest mug after Uncle Sam and China, but rejoining?

Remember the €6bn French tantrum over military funds? That's the vibe: endless haggling, zero gain. Our leaders are bureucrats, they would love to let the EU handle socil and economic policy and have NATO take over foreign and defence matters, We'd bin "Global Britain" for a seat at the losers' table, watching our talent flee to where ideas aren't strangled at birth. Claudio Irigoyen calls it "secular decline" More like assisted suicide.

Europe's got talent and cash squirreled away – high savings, wealthy nations ticking up despite the rot. A crisis might spark reform, à la Milei in Argentina. Fine, let them sort it. But us?We voted to be free of all that, why are our leaders so eager to take us back.

Rejoining now would be volunteering for the dunking stool. Why would any sensible country want to do that?

The Theraputic Society Is Destroying Civilisation

Many of the problems afflicting Britain and its European neighbours and transatlantic cousins appear to be related to what in the recent past has been called The Theraputic Society, Nanny State and paternalistic liberalism. As government (and with it the amount of tax we pay) grows, corporate industry and private business is increasingly coming to resemble the public sector, ruled less by economic rationality than by an intrusive bureaucracy functioning increasingly like an HR department.

Concepts like profit and dividends and values like commitment to quality have become alien in thisd environment; replaced by concerns about Diversity,Inclusivity and Equality; Environmental Social Governance goals; staff welfare and mental health issues and the instruction to “just be kind”.

What is driving this explosion of worklessness. Many of those now receiving incapacity benefits rather than working for wages have been diagnosed as disabled because of mental health conditions, particularly depression. The number of Personal Independence Payment claims based on psychiatric illness rising over 50pc since 2019. Some 1.3 million people now fall into this category and as well as generous benefits are gettin medication and talking therapy when the most effective cure for their condition is a good kick up the arse.

As well as the rise in numbers of people permanently disabled by mental health issues, psychiatric illnesses account for over a quarter of all sick leave in the large organisations.

In the HR state, attempts to shift people into employment are frowned upon as unkind, even though work can be beneficial for mental health problems in the same way as a good kick up the arse can.. And so the taxpayer continues to fork out for workers who don’t work, public services decline, and the tax burden grows.

Once you start to see the growing power of Just Be Kind culture, it soon becomes obvious that it has permeated all levels of society. It’s in the way we speak to each other, with normal, everyday interactions increasingly governed by rules on what ideas and opinions may 'trigger' a sensitive listener, or what level of rudeness incurs civil or criminal liability.

Rather than taking offence – with the implication that we can choose how to respond, including shrugging ill-judged words off – the idea that we are actually harmed by insensitive language has been firmly planted in the minds of many people. And the HR state intervenes to protect us, even to the extent of telling us what we are offended by. Judges are handing out jail sentences to people who are rude online of simply fail to use a person's preferred pronouns, juries and tribunrals are handing massive payouts to those offended by their colleagues at work.

It doesn’t matter if that offence is given with good reason. Demanding adequate performance from highly paid civil servants and employees is out. And getting rid of employees isn’t always an option either: in one notable case, a judge found in favour of an employee complaining about being let go after taking 808 sick days and picking up £96,000 in sick pay).

It is a common misconception that more laws mean greater protection. Legislation has become increasingly complicated and ambiguous for employers. There comes a point when the added benefit is questionable and must be outweighed by the burden which it places on business. This is especially the case for small and medium sized employers who may not have a specialist, in-house HR function staffed by people whose job is to be aware of all the issues surrounding workplace interactions.

In the past twenty years there has been a continuous flow of new employment and human rights laws passed ranging from the new Agency Workers Regulations, the Age Discrimination Regulations to European case law on rights to accrue holidays even while on long term sick leave. New employment legislation is estimated to have added £70 billion per annum to costs for businesses over the last decade.’

The costs of employing people and doing business is bankrupting businesses, and yet the government has confirmed at least 10 new (HR) laws for 2024’

We, along with several other major economic powers have elections to appoint a new governments later this year though because these people are products of the university system and are advised by those who have spend  their entire lives detached from reality in the cocoon of the scholarly environment, will the new lot do any better that the ones who created the current mess. We the voters know what to do of course:

It is necessary to curtail major areas of government spending: welfare, health, education and defence. Emergency cuts, or at least freezes, in welfare benefits and public sector pay are imperative, the kind of measures seen recently in struggling central European countries. We must abandon virtue signalling policies like 'net zero', open borders immigration and the funding of foreign wars. 

 If welfare benefits are not pegged to wage increases then there will be no incentive to work and more people, though able bodied, will claim disability status due to mental health issues.

Longer-term reforms that reduce the scope of government are needed. A new government could start by tackling public sector pensions (a liability of over £1 trillion), move on to welfare reform and then health and education,  cutting waste, terminating the jobs of diversity officers, sensitivity advisers and racial awareness tutors, and getting rid of the costly bureaucrats who compile statistics to justify these expenditures.

And let’s not forget regulation. Removing red tape – for example, the new gender pay audits – would reduce the government payroll while lowering costs for businesses. But no-one running for high office will have the testicular fortitude to do any of this, so they in turn will be removed…..and so will the next ones and so on until someone gets the message.

Pandemic Preparedness And The Road To International Fascism

Health policy would be people-centered, closely tied to human rights and self-determination.

The COVID-19 response has demonstrated how these ideals have been undone. Decades of increasing funding within public-private partnerships have corroded the basis of global public health. The COVID-19 response, intended for a virus that overwhelmingly targeted the elderly, ignored norms of epidemic management and human rights to institute a regime of suppression, censorship, and coercion reminiscent of the power systems and governance that were previously condemned. Without pausing to examine the costs, the public health industry is developing international instruments and processes that will entrench these destructive practices in international law.

Public health, presented as a series of health emergencies, is being used once again to facilitate a fascist approach to societal management. The beneficiaries will be the corporations and investors whom the COVID-19 response served well. Human rights and individual freedom, as under previous fascist regimes, will lose.

The public health industry must urgently awaken to the changing world in which it works, if it is to adopt a role in saving public health rather than contributing to its degradation.

France's Week Of Riots Signal Failure Of Virtue Signalling Immigration Policies

The mass riots that rocked French society over the past week put the spotlight on the disaster of liberal mass immigration policies in the European democracies and the total failure by Western societies to assimilate the new arrivals welcomed through years of mass immigration, into the culture, traditions and laws of the host nation, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó has claimed.

Speaking in the Hungarian parliament on,  Szijjártó said the violent scenes and the spectacle of burning cars and buildings witnessed across France must not be allowed to spread to other countries.

He added that the latest riots to rock France have vindicated those European countries, including Hungary, which advocate a stricter immigration policy.

Hungary is not the only EU nation pushing back against policies imposed by the ultra left EU ruling bureaucracy. Poland too has rejected the EU's immigrant quotas and Italy's government under Georgia Meloni is taking a strong line on immigrtion. Sweden is talking about cracking down on immigration but that’s definitely a country where the damage has already been done. They now have 60 'no go areas' controlled by Islamist gangs in that nation of 8 million people. France has been a warning to us all.

Trouble started after a 17-year-old boy of Algerian descent and with a long record of car theft, reckless driving and related crimes was shot last week  by police officers as he attempted to drive away from a routine traffic stop while two officers were pointing guns at him because he had refused to switch off the car engine and remove the ignition key. Reports in French news media reveal that the lad did not have a driving licence and was therefore uninsured and that the vehicle is a Mercedes Benz hire car registered in Poland and owned by a Polish car hire companies.

French authorities have not commented on wether the car was stolen, but it would be very difficult for an unemployed 17 year old who did not hold a valid driving licence to travel to Poland and hire a car.

The populations of France's numerous immigrant ghettos uniting in defence of a habitual criminal last wee last week, and the animosity displayed by the immigrant mobs to French law and French property have shown social integration on a mass scale to be unworkable.

“It is impossible to integrate large numbers of illegal immigrants from other cultures,” Szijjártó told colleagues in the chamber.

He added that the latest riots to rock France have vindicated those European countries, including Hungary, which advocate a stricter immigration policy.

In  the weeks leading up to the rioting the European Union's ruling bureaucracy has been trying to enforce the migration quota again in its latest bid to usurp the soverieign powers of member states. Foreign Minister Szijjártó, commenting on Hungary's refusal to accept this accused the European Commission of simply not being able to accept “that the Hungarian people exercised their sovereign right and made a decision regarding the future of Hungary that is contrary to the expectations of the liberal mainstream in Brussels.”

The Hungarian minister also warned that “parallel societies” have been created in many Western European nations with 'no go zones' for police and emergency services existing in most major cities that have large immigrant communities. This is the inevitable outcome of successive governments, in an orgy of virtue signalling as the elites, who don't have to live near the lawless ghettos, implementing migration policies that disregarded the interests of national communities in order to be seen helping the people of poor third world nations. Hungary's leader Viktor Orban recently claimed that “no tragedy is enough to make them come to their senses in Brussels,” citing the controversial EU Pact on Migration and Asylum currently being proposed in the de facto EU capital.

The immigration policy of the EU is clearly a complete disaster. Flooding mainly Christian countries with uneducated, semi literate incomers from countries with alternative views on women, blasphemy, social habits etc is never going to work.

 It is too easy to dismiss comments like this as Islamophobia, but while it can be argued that Muslims are among the most hospitable people on earth, my 'special friend' Farida being an example of that welcoming nature, but  as in Christianity, there are those within the Muslim faith who take the Koran as literal truth, and appoint themselves as judge, jury and executioner of its teachings and these are the ones who resort to mob violence.

 To talk of the small boats crossing busy sea lanes while overloaded with illegal migrants trafficked by organised crime networks as a negative thing is to invite accusations of racism but now we have all seen people similar to those who are coming here to be housed in hotels and army camps and barges at the taxpayers expense, showing their true colours. At some point our own immigration problem will be unsustainable (it is not far away now, look at how the police have lost control of the streets in our cities and large towns.. When will these young men (of fighting age), bored out of their minds with lots of time on their hands, no money worries and phones to organise their communities, decide it is time to rise against their host nation?

 They will start making trouble at some point. Can you imagine how peaceful, sleepy British communities will respond to these violent, sex - stared young men who are not refugees or asylum seekers? Many of the latest wave of arrivals are Albanians and quite honestly should be shipped straight back to Albania which has neither war nor famine, just poverty. They cannot possibly qualify as refugees or asylum seekers and apply for visas and work permits like any American or Australian who wishes to come and work here.

 The more pushback from EU countries about this the better. The EU needs to be relegated back to the status of a free trade club for European nations, serving the national interests of sovereign nations. The big to create a European superstate through 'ever closer integration' (both economic and political,) has failed as it was always doomed to. Trying to impose the will of the few bureaucrat puppets of the shadowy powers that be on the culturally and economically diverse nations of Europe can never succeed. Forget The Partygate Distraction, People Still Have To Be Called To Account For Lockdowns

It is quite obvious that the pandemic and its aftermath will be with us for years but after all the angst ridden coverage of the 'Partygate' scandal and the hounding of Boris Johnson when he was not the only one who ate cake while the rest of us languished in isolation (well some fools did, although nobody I knew took the unconstitutional, human rights abusing restrictions very seriously, it seems the media are focused on the wrong things. Too many in the establishment and beyond are still obsessed with rule breaking rather than questioning whether the rules were proportionate or effective. They’re still obsessed with retrospectively policing the lockdowns rather than asking whether the lockdowns were right or wrong, when it is now beyond reasonable doubt that the illiegal lockdowns and other restrictions imposed from 2020 to 2022 did more harm than good.

Of course, public anger at Tory ministers and staffers flouting rules their own government imposed on the rest of us is understandable. The double standards are off the charts. But while such anger is justified, is it being directed at the right targets?

On 23 March 2020, Boris Johnson gave a wartime-style address, insisting that we must stay at home and that the police would have powers to enforce the rules. Nobody was in any doubt that we were not supposed to go to parties during the first lockdown, the second lockdown, or the periods of tiered restrictions. The the thick, fascistic plod were certainly not in any doubt, as the 120,000 Covid fixed-penalty notices dished out to lockdown breakers surely attests. And who can forget the gleeful enthusiasm shown by plod when enforcing those restrictions on middle aged dog walkers, old ladies, young children playing in the street and people enjoying a barbecue with neighbours in their own gardens, when if violent crime is being committed against innocent members of the public by vicious criminals armed with guns, knives or baseball bats with nails through the end, the aforementioned plod are nowhere to be seen. In fact if you are a victim of crime the best response you can hope for is the Police Community Support Officer Plod will turn up a week later and offer you some leaflets on victim support counselling.

And yet people in government and opposition parties, snivel servants and academics who are paid the provide technical advice ignored the very same rules they demanded that the rest of us follow. Downing Street staff regularly held boozy parties featuring some really inept, booze fuelled dancing. Scientific advisers took advantage of the low traffic volumes to gallivant around the country seeing friends and relatives, and the man whose phoney alarmism, based on some very dodgy mathematical models of a pandemic, Professor Neil Ferguson, travelled across London for illicit nookie with his best friend's wife.

So it’s understandable that people want retribution, that they want to punish the hypocrites in power. But the anger is misdirected. We should be targeting it at the harsh, inhuman rules, not their violators. We should be angry at the punishment meted out to two students, who were fined £10,000 each for organising a snowball fight in Leeds in January 2021. We should be angry at the punishments visited on neighbours for having a cup of tea together, on friends for going for walks, and on pensioners for chatting on benches.

Looking back over posts by myself and my fellow Boggart Bloggers HERE, HERE, and HERE over the course of the lockdowns and related human rights abuses (going from March 2020 up to March 2022), perhaps fittingly ending with the revelation that from January 2020 to June 2021, Sweden, a countery that shunned lockdowns and merely asked people to be sensible, had the lowest average mortality in Europe.

I would further suggest that much of what we need to know about the lockdowns is covered in the articles and comments of alt_media while being ignored by mainstream news and analysis sites which, instead of doing the work ewe expect of them, were happy to simply regurgitate the scaremongering propaganda pumped out by governments and public health regulators.

Almost every powerful institution and individual in the Anglosphere and western Europe was behind the Covid scam. The idea that most of the protagonists are still in positions of power and influence rather than facing jail time should disgust any right thinking person.. In any case, Covid wasn’t some aberration preceded and followed by sanity, it was simply the logical progression of a drift to globalised authoritarianism that started a fair while ago and continues. Sheeple populace placated with beer and circuses, believing whatever the technocrats tell them, and wicked people exploiting this for their own selfish ends.

The biggest victims of lockdowns were children, a group that was hardly affected by COVID, which was truly a disease of the old and sick. Never forget that the National Union of Teachers accused Boris Johnson and his government of murdering teachers by asking them to teach children face to face.

They, as much as the scaremongers in parliament and the medical professions are responsible for the ongoing mental health problems, learning difficulties and behavioural issues their members are now complaining about.

I am a grandparent, and watched both my grandchildren become isolated from friends, bored, alienated, and resentful his .Their livers werre cancelled over a pimped up common cold infection.

  Many parents and grandparents had to look on , powerless, as children went into their shells, were forced to work from kitchen tables alongside working parents, were terrified their parents and grandparents might die (incidentally still an issue because of "climate' change), and who have never returned with the same mindset.

Children's charities were inundated with requests to support families with young children unsocialised, fearful, lacking confidence, and from stressed out parents trying to work from home, home - school the kids and hold on to some semblance of normality.

What gets me is all the "late converts" who at the time when resistance was most needed, dutifully stood outside and clapped (the only clap I'd like to give the NHS is the infxtious kind,) sported face nappies every time they entered a supermarket and risked the clot shot itself just because the saline-vaxxed Royal Family told them "not to think of oneself," or think FOR oneself because it was known before the vaccines were released on the public that they would not bestow immunity or prevent transmission.

 Many people I know, friends, family members, blog community contacts, had rumbled this hoax  before we entered lockdowns with all the ongoing damage that has and will in the future, ensue. Almost all of us have ancestors or members of their familues who died in the great wars of the 20th century, defending Western freedoms which have now basically gone for good,
