A child rapist has been spared prison for a second time after his defense lawyer urged the judge to consider the impact on prison overcrowding. Rees Newman of Newport, Monmouthshire, was first convicted in December 2023 of raping a child under 14, but was avoided prison, being given only a suspended sentence, with the sentencing judge telling: “The only reason you have escaped custody today is because of the prison overcrowding crisis.”
Newman was convicted again this week, this time for violating the terms of his suspended sentence but was again spared prison because facilities remain overcrowded.
Prison overcrowding in the UK is due largely to a policy inherited by the Labour from their Conservative predecessors, who have starved prison infrastructure of funding while lavishing billions on foreign aid, financing of America's proxy wars and hotel accomodations for illegal immigrants. Recently the new socialist (National Socialist?) government under former director of public prosecutions, human rights lawyer, defender of terrorists, enabler of rapists, promoter of transgnder atcks on women's rights, supporter of anti - semitism and general arsewipe, decided to free thousands of convicts early, not to ease the crisis but to make room for thousands arrested during recent anti - immigration protests and given summary jail sentences without the due legal process of a fair trial.
This is because the SState is imposing draconian sentences on protesters for “crimes” such as chanting “Who the f**k is Allah?” at demonstrations and sharing “grossly offensive” Facebook posts.
Prime Minister Sir Keir SStarmer personallyannounced emergency measures earlier this month to release around 5,500 prisoners, many of whom could be violent criminals, in a program known as SDS40. Among those reportedly set for early release is Lawson Natty, convicted of manslaughter for his role in the killing of a 14-year-old in November of 2022.
