Brussels reaction to Dutch EU-Kiev deal vote brings to mind the way the unelected Kommissars who run the EU cynically dismissed the Irish referendum result that rejected the Lisbon treaty and further inflames the Brexit issue.
Though the vote in the Netherlands was only to ratify the EU / Ukraine association agreement, a step towards the accession of Ukraine to full EU membership it was widely seen as a test of public opinion on a number of issues, including the immigration crisis, the increasing encroachment of Brussels on national sovereignty, the failure to agree common policies on unepmployment, economic slowdown and response to the miiddle east war, while EU regulations hamstring any attempts to resolve those promlems locally.
