A former Polish Defense Minister, Radek Sikorski, has attributed to the United States the sabotage of two pipelines, Nord Stream 1 and 2, which carry natural gas from Russia to Germany. “Thank you, USA,” Sikorski wrote on Twitter. Sikorski was Minister of National Defense from 2005 - 2007 and served as Deputy Minister of National Defense and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, previously. He is currently an elected member of the European parliament.
Poland’s Secretary of State, Stanisław Żaryn, denounced Sikorki’s claim on Twitter as “Russian #propaganda,” calling it “a smear campaign against Poland, the US and Ukraine, accusing the West of aggression against #NS1 and #NS2. Authenticating the Russian lies at this particular moment jeopardizes the security of Poland. What an act of gross irresponsibility!”
Nord Stream 1 and 2 lie on the bed of the Baltic Sea and bring gas from Russia to Germany. Nord Stream 2 was finished last year but Germany never opened it because Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24.
But President Joe Biden promised on February 7 to prevent Nord Stream 2 from becoming operational if Russia invaded Ukraine. "If Russia invades,” said Biden, “then there will be no longer a Nord Stream 2. We will bring an end to it." (abc news)

In May this year during a debate with Univeristy of Chicago political scientist, John Mearsheimer, Sikorski accused Russia of violating the 1994 Budapest Memorandum, under which Ukraine gave up nuclear weapons inherited from the old Sviet Union. After the debate, the Chairman of the Russian State assembly, Vyacheslav Volodin, said "Sikorski is causing a nuclear conflict in the center of Europe. He does not think about the future of Ukraine or that of Poland. If his suggestions are fulfilled, these countries will cease to exist, as will Europe.” Sikorski is also married to Anne Applebaum, a journalist known for her hawkish views toward Russia.
Sikorski's attack on America and particularly the Biden administration coincides with German current affairs magazine Der Spiegel reporting that the CIA warned Germany weeks ago of a coming attack on natural gas pipelines, Nord Stream 1 and 2, which transport natural gas Russia to Germany.
Der Spiegel acknowledges that Russia could have pulled off such the attack on the pipelines, but in line with the consensus on internet news sites comments: “It is difficult to see whether Russia or Ukraine could have an interest in such an incident.”
Indeed, Russia could have restricted natural gas flows by simply closing a few valves like it did earlier this month when it blamed an oil leak as the excuse for starving Europe of gas, without blowing up the pipelines.
And Russia has openly stated its desire to return to normal business conditions and supply Europe with natural gas. On September 16, Vladimir Putin himself denied accusations that Russia caused Europe's energy crisis and pointed out that if Europe wanted more natural gas it should lift the sanctions and approve the opening the Nord Stream 2 pipeline.
"The bottom line is,” said Putin, “if you have an urge, it's not so hard for you, just lift the sanctions on Nord Stream 2, which is 55 billion cubic metres of gas per year, just push the button and everything will get going.”
The sabotage of Nord Stream 1 and by unknown agencies came just a day before a new pipeline between Poland and Norway, an 850-kilometer natural gas pipeline, The Baltic Pipe, through Denmark. European leaders praised the pipeline as an important alternative to Nord Stream 1 and 2. Norwegian Energy Minister Terje Aasland called Baltic Pipe “a milestone on the important path towards European energy independence”.
Baltic Pipe connects Poland to Denmark mainland and then to Norway and allows Poland to consume Norway’s natural gas and Denmark to buy natural gas from Norway.
“The push to escape reliance on Russian energy was given extra urgency on Tuesday,” noted a journalist, “after mysterious leaks were discovered on two Kremlin-owned pipelines to Germany.” It’s now clear that the “leaks” were caused by sabotage.
But while the wankerati inmainstream media were quick to point the finger at Russia (to quick for their accusations to be credible,) more thoughtful analysts soon noticed that as the story unfurled a different picture was emerging. The USA had the means, the motive and the opportunity.Back in February this year Joe Biden and Victoria Nuland, of the US State department declared that if Russia invaded Ukraine, then one way or another they would stop the Nord stream pipeline. As for Putin, to suggest he did it is utterly ridiculous, while those comment thread trolls who think Zelenskyyyyy's shit smells of lavender and roses are sure Putin id just a nasty, vindictive, irrational little goblin, he is in fact one of the most intelligent world leaders and would have no interest in shooting himself and his country in the foot just to piss off The White House.
If the Biden administration are responsible for this, they have not only caused a new and very dangerous escalation of war, but released huge volumes of gas into the atmosphere possibly causing immense environmental damage.So much for Dementia Joe's commitments to a greener world.
Worse, such an escalation would invite Russia to reciprocate by causing catastrophic damage to undersea installations of cables and services vital for the west to function. This is insane. If Biden is responsible, as seems likely, he has put us on a path to an all out nuclear war.
Were Russia found to have perpetrated the sabotage it could only be considered an act of war, an attack on a Nato country, which would require all NATO members to support and assist Germany.
Just what Putin needs at a time when his military adventure in Ukraine is not going well due to the military hardware, ammunition, expertise and financial aide NATO and EU members have given to Ukraine to enable the neo - Nazi nutters in Kiev to prolong the conflict.
Putin, by all accounts a cautious but seriously dangerous opponent, is
trying to work his way through this. He is not going to survive an
attack on Nato.
For the Biden administration however, safely distant from the current conflict zone and with several well known corporate crooks (including the president's son Hunter,) who have financial links to the Military Industrial Complex in positions that enable them to influence policy while the president himself is now so cognitively degenerate he can't even find his way offstage after giving one of his incoherent speeches without his wife Jill leading him by the hand as one would a three year old, he probably doesn't even remember his country is indirectly involved in a war.
