The political establishment in Berlin was shaken yesterday when Germany’s far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) rose to a record 28
per cent in the latest weekly INSA voting intention poll published on
April 25, widening its lead over the conservative bloc to 4 percentage
points.
The result marked the highest level ever recorded for the party by INSA and was up one point from the previous week.
The
conservative Christian Democratic Union (CDU) party of Chancellor
Friedrich Merz and their Bravaria - only sister party the CSU was unchanged from the previous week at 24 per cent,
while the Greens slipped one point to 12 per cent.
The Social Democratic Party (SPD) held steady at 14 per cent, and the Left Party remained at 11 per cent.
With
11 per cent of votes going to parties that would fail to enter
Parliament, a governing majority would mathematically require at least
45 per cent of the vote share among parties clearing the threshold.
If
other parties continue to rule out cooperation with the AfD, branding hem far right and a threat to democracy, viable
governing coalitions would be limited to three-party alliances, the poll
suggested.
A coalition of the centre right CDU, socialist SPD and lunatic fringe Greens would command 50 per cent, while the CDU, SPD and the Left would total 49 per cent.
While the pushback by German voters against the globalist slow motion coup d'etat and the inexorable rise of AfD is as encouraging as the growing strength of Reform and other boadly conservative parties in Britain, Rassemblement National in France, and similar traditionalist and soft nationalist parties in Italy, Netherlands,Spain, Poland and across the whole European continent the leftist / globalist blob is still very much in control.
Germany is suffering from a crisis of crises brought on by that milieu which
regards itself as the country’s morally, intellectually, and
administratively legitimate leadership class but which has, for years,
sustained a regime of reality-avoidance, self-congratulation, and
rhetorical substitutes for genuine action. For years the nation has been trapped in a mass immigration crisis and not on top of that they have an economic crisis, an unemployment crisis, an energy crisis as Net Zero policies destroy energy security a deindustrialisation crisis and, as the impossiblity of electing a stable government becomes clear a crisis of democracy.
The reality situation is not that mistakes have been made. Mistakes are part of politics. The
real root of the multiple problems is that Germany has produced a class of managerial ruling elites
that refuse to change course, or take responsibility for their failures even when the consequences of its actions are exposed. These arrogant elitists, political, legal, business and academic, do not correct themselves or even acknowledge mistakes, because they no longer measures themselves against reality but against the approval of their own circles. The elite class does not
want to be right before the tribunal of reality; it wants to be right
before the followers of its ideology.
So instead of addressing the economic crisis, curbing uncontrolled mass immigration or focusing on rebuilding the energy infrastricture they obsess over Net Zero and Environmental Social Governance (ESG)

Spain’s solar boom is running into a harsh reality: too much sunshine has created an energy glut, crashing prices and spooking investors, writes Hans van Leeuwen in the Telegraph.The article lays bare the insane voodoo-economics underlying all this Net Zero/Green energy nonsense.
In Spain, solar panels make much more sense than in the northern latitudes of UK with our cloudy skies and loooooong winter nights. So much sense that they’re producing too much energy, causing the price electricity companies pay producers to drop drastically. What happens then? Sell the excess energy to someone else – the French, or us – lowering prices elsewhere?
Nope, the grid and interconnectors can’t take the surplus energy, last year a sunny spell in summer overloaded transformers on the national distribution grid and knocked out electricity supply to homes and businesses over a large part of the country. Continue covering thousands of square miles of productive agricultural land with panels that produce electricity nobody wants and Store it? Nope: no-one bothered to think about storage technology (or rather the lack of it). Provide the energy to Ramon and Luz in the house down the road, at a zero price? Nope, not allowed: because the whole push is wrapped in a bonkers guaranteed-price straitjacket.
So, instead: switch off the solar plant. Yes switch them off because the gas and nuclear power stations must be kept running in order to level the loading on the grid when supplies from intermittent sources suddenly fluctuate. These fabulous solutions to pollution, supposedly providing cheap energy, have to be switched off to keep the price high. For years this blog has been saying Net Zero is a scam built on the Climate Catastrophe hoax.
It’s tempting to read this as “greedy investors gaming a badly thought out system, traducing good intentions”; that is certainly our problem in Britain, particularly net zero crazy Scotland where energy producers are paid more for NOT producing electricity than they earn from current fed into the grid, and there may be some element of it in Spain.
But whether it’s the evil Capitalists putting up the money, or government doing it directly (and the generation/transmission complex is a textbook case of potential market failure), someone has to pay for the construction and maintenance of these expensive, brand-new solar plants and they are not cheap to build and maintain. Perhaps this prioritising theory over reality is why green power has failed so miserably.
It seems to me that a guaranteed future price is one of the most counter productive ways of raising the money. As your friendly local free-market economist will tell you, it suppresses an important signal.
Some signal is getting through nevertheless, and investment in solar in Spain is drying up. What’s wrong with that? Well, it’s only wrong because Spain has to expand solar, according to Book of Net Zero 1:1 – even if the market signals (and the underlying realities they reflect) don’t make it worthwhile. Build more solar plants, and switch them (and the existing ones) off more often.
The logic of the Net Zero lobby is totally insane.
