If America Votes For More Of The Same (Hillary) Here's A Foretaste Of What To Expect

After sixteen pointless years (and eight of them under the presidency of Barack (Bath House Barry) Obama, who promised he would be the peacemaker and joybringer) the USA's pointless war in Afghanistan goes on.

The latest massacre by US military personnel of innocent people in Afghanistan provides another demonstration as to why it is imperative that the American people stop deferring to the authority of the Big Brother Regime military / industrial complex and demand the immediate cessation of all U.S. military interventions not only in Afghanistan but Syria, Iraq, Yemen, South Sudan, Somalia, Libya, Chad, and numerous other small nations, and also the immediate abandonment of a US foreign policy based on provoking hostilities with Russia and China.

Today, as Americans vote in their presidential election, and may well choose to install the anointed successor of warmonger Obama, the even more hawkish Hillary Clinton who has promised that on becoming president she will immediately escalate military action in Syria with the likely consequence of kicking off a global conflict, we learned that U.S. forces in Afghanistan have killed at least 30 civilians, many of whom were children. Another 25 people were wounded. Of course, this is on top of all people killed by those much vaunted American 'precision weapons' that can locate and destroy the only wedding party, funeral or child naming ceremony in a 1000 square mile area, as well as mistaking hospitals and schools for guerilla bases and ammunition dumps. These random victims of U.S. bombs and drone strikes that have brought the death toll from U.S. interventionism in Afghanistan to more than 200,000, with many more seriously wounded and maimed.

The latest massacre seems to have been a typical US military cock up, poor communications, poor decision making and a trigger happy style of gung ho leadership. Afghan government forces, assisted by U.S. troops, launched a raid on a house in a densely populated village where a Taliban commander was believed to be attending a meeting. The soldiers got trapped in a narrow dead-end street, where they began taking enemy fire from surrounding homes.

So, what did they do to save their necks, Take cover and shoot back? Oh no, these guys were Uncle Sam's finest, they know how to deal with ambushes in densely populated urban areas? They called in air strikes, which meant firing missiles into a neighborhood filled mostly with entirely innocent non - combatants. Those missiles killed 32 human beings, including children.

The U.S. military’s position is the standard one: The military regrets the collateral damage loss of innocent life but the US soldiers did not really have any choice. If they didn’t fire the missiles, the U.S. and Afghan troops would be killed. If they did fire the missiles, the innocent people living in the neighborhood would die. Not surprisingly, the military chose to protect the lives of the soldiers, so they could carry on the fight with the Taliban another day, at the expense of those innocent people living in the neighborhood who probably weren't going to kill anyone ever.

And we should not overlook the most important fact: If U.S. troops had not still been active in Afghanistan, there never would have been a U.S. bombing raid on that neighborhood. I find the religious fanaticism and fundamentalism abhorrent, but if Afghans want to be ruled by these brutal, medievalist arseholes, that's their business.

So how do survivors of the massacre feel about what happened? When they were sure it was safe they took to the streets chanting “Death to America!” and other anti - western politics. Americans should bear that in mind next time there is a terrorist attack in the United States.

Actually this latest incident was not entirely one sided. Despite the bombing attack, two U.S. soldiers — Captain Andrew Byers and Sgt. First Class Ryan Gloyer were killed in the gunfight.

What did they die for? It was not to protect the freedom and values of their country's citizens, not to keep their loved ones safe. They died for nothing, the same thing that 60,000 U.S. soldiers died for in Vietnam and 3000 in Iraq. Saddam Huussein, The Taliban, they posed no direct threat to the USA or its people. The freedom and security of the American people have nothing to do with the war in Afghanistan. The war and all America's other recent wars have been about corporate profits and the geopolitical ambitions of Washington's neocon hawks. The conflict in Afghanistan is nothing more than a civil war. It may seem insane that a significant portion of the population support the Tsaliban, until you remember the Taliban are battling to oust a regime that has been installed into power by the U.S. government. They may be brutal, oppressive tyrants, the people seem to be saying, but at least they're our brutal, oppressive tyrants

Once the U.S. presidential race is over, a race in which the 16-year-old war in Afghanistan has barely been mentioned as one side were horrified that the other side's candidate once said 'pussy' while the other, perfectly reasonably, tried to get mainstream media to cover stories related to the opposing candidate being a war criminal, traitor, thief, liar and general cvnt, the American people can, if the woman touted as front runner by the 'liberals' who believe in bombing backward countries for world peace is elected, look forward to a continuing U.S. occupation of Afghanistan and Iraq. With Hillary Clinton in The White House there will be more U.S. interventionism, accomplishing nothing positive and only generating more hatred of 'the west' in general and the USA in particular.

So Was What Trump Said On Abortion REALLY So Bad?

Mainstream media in the USA have been getting their knickers in a twist about Donald Trump again. This time it is The Donald's comments on abortion that are causing excitement.




Trump calls for abortion to be bannned, the headlines read.
"Trump said women should be punished for having abortions," screeched the screeching feminists who think being caught in possession of testicles should be a capital offence.

The opinions of our three main contributors are mixed. My general feeling is against except in special circumstances, probably something to do with my Catholic upbringing; Phil T Looker who posts on Finance and will be back from his winter sojourn in warmer climes soon, thinks the law in the UK, abortion available up to 24 weeks, after that only for medical reasons, and the founder Ian confesses he used to be very liberal on the topic until first he had a long conversation with a nurse of his intimate acquaintance who described the psychological effects of late term abortion on many women, and secondly after he was exposed through online activity to the psychotic obsession of many American feminists and 'liberals' with the idea that abortion should be promoted as the contraceptive method of choice because 'woman's right to choose'.

But it is a very emotive subject and not one people should talk about in public without carefully organising their thoughts.

So what did Donald Trump say, is it a case, as with previous Trump related controversies, of him simply giving a straight answer to a question and then being taken out of context? Let's have a vada:

Here are the relevant parts of an interview with Obama worshipper Chris Matthews (the one who in 2008 admitted he comes in his pants every time he hears Obama speak) compiled by Bloomberg.

• Host Chris Matthews presses Trump on anti-abortion position, repeatedly asking him, “Should abortion be punished? This is not something you can dodge”
  • “Look, people in certain parts of the Republican Party, conservative Republicans, would say, ‘Yes, it should,’” Trump answers
  • “How about you?” Matthews asks
  • “I would say it’s a very serious problem and it’s a problem we have to decide on. Are you going to send them to jail?” Trump says
  • “I’m asking you,” Matthews says
  • “I am pro-life,” Trump says
  • “How do you actually ban abortion?” Matthews asks
  • “Well, you go back to a position like they had where they would perhaps go to illegal places but we have to ban it,” Trump says
• Matthews then presses Trump on if he believes there should be punishment for abortion if it were illegal
  • “There has to be some form of punishment,” Trump says
  • “For the woman?” Matthews says; “Yeah,” Trump says, nodding
  • Trump says punishment would “have to be determined”
  • “They’ve set the law and frankly the judges, you’re going to have a very big election coming up for that reason because you have judges where it’s a real tipping point and with the loss of Scalia, who was a very strong conservative, this presidential election is going to be very important,” Trump says
  • “When you say what’s the law, nobody knows what the law is going to be. It depends on who gets elected,” Trump says

Obviously Matthews set out to trap Trump but notice that he was referring to illegal abortions and not abortion in general. That is very different to what is being reported and what the feminists and 'liberals' are getting worked up about. Trump is trapped by the nature of the question, because it refers to specifically ILLEGAL abortion he must either say women should be punished or may break the law with impunity because womens' right to choose. It's well know Donald Trump is susceptible to badgering and. Matthews set our to rile him.

So really, in the correct context , Donald Trump, in answering a question about ILLEGAL abortion has not said anything truly controversial. Womens' rights do not include the right to break the law. What Matthews did was comparable to asking people who drive powerful cars if drivers who break speed limits should go to jail.

Undemocratic Democrats – Nearly 10% Of Democratic Party Superdelegates Are Corporate Lobbyists

Speaking as an impartial onlooker (who does not have a vote in US elections) the Presidential primaries are interesting because of the success of two non establishment candidates. But while I have been amused by the antics of the Republicans as they search for a way to stop Donal Trump, on the other side of the coin I have learned there is not alot about the Democratic Party that is actually democratic. No matter how voting in the primaries and caucuses goes, the candidate will almost certainly be chosen by the party elders. And that means it will not be Bernie Sanders.

Last year, The New York Times published an article examining the American attitude toward the question of money in politics. This is what it found:

Americans of both parties fundamentally reject the regime of untrammeled money in elections made possible by the Supreme Court’s Citizens United ruling and other court decisions and now favor a sweeping overhaul of how political campaigns are financed, according to a New York Times/CBS News poll.

The findings reveal deep support among Republicans and Democrats alike for new measures to restrict the influence of wealthy givers, including limiting the amount of money that can be spent by “super PACs” and forcing more public disclosure on organizations now permitted to intervene in elections without disclosing the names of their donors.

As the Liberty Blitzkreig graphic below shows very clearly, public opinion is quite unequivocal in believing money plays too big a role in the democratic process.

You might guess that the party most dominated by big money interests whould be the nasty, neocon Republicans but you would be wrong. The fairness and equality loving, minority supporting, “liberal” Democratic Party with its system of superdelegates is far more amenable to being bought by corporate money. The super delegate system intentionally undemocratic, designed to stop a maverick like Bernie Sanders becoming the candidate, but even worse;  9% of superdelegates are actually lobbyists.

You just can’t make this stuff up.

Hillary Clinton holds a substantial edge among a particular and little-noticed kind of delegate to the Democratic National Convention: Superdelegates.

On July 25, these superdelegates will cast votes at the Democratic National Convention for whomever they want, regardless of primary and caucus outcomes. Democrats like to describe superdelegates as mostly elected officials and prominent party members, including President Obama and former Presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter.

But this group, which consists of 21 governors, 40 senators and 193 representatives, only makes up about a third of the superdelegates. Many of the remaining 463 convention delegates are establishment insiders who get their status after years of donations and service to the party. Dozens of the 437 delegates in the DNC member category are registered federal and state lobbyists, according to an ABC News analysis.

In fact, when you remove elected officials from the superdelegate pool, at least one in seven of the rest are former or current lobbyists registered on the federal and state level, according to lobbying disclosure records.

That’s at least 67 lobbyists who will attend the convention as superdelegates. A majority of them have already committed to supporting Hillary Clinton for the nomination.

 It is insane, but it looks like we are witnessing the breakdown of both the Republican and the Democrat Parties.

The Republicans are in complete disarray with Donald Trump having obliterated a fied of nonentities so completely there has even been talk of putting the 2012 loser Mitt (Captain Underpants) Romney up as the official candidate, a move that would result in electoral catastrophe. Meanwhile the Democrat party is teetering on the edge with the super-delegate con.

If Bernie doesn't win the nomination on account of super delegates forcing Clinton upon America's self-described 'liberals', it will shatter the Democrat party without hope of recovery. There cannot be a single rationally minded "liberal" that can agree that the concept of "super delegates" is in any way compatible with "democracy". That would not be forgotten, or forgiven, by their grassroots voters, without whose support the Democrat party cannot hope to win anything. Many were suspicious of the way Obama was foisted on the party, but with the widely disliked Mrs. Clinton as the only serious opponent they overlooked Obama's obvious shortcomings, his lack of experience,  alleged drug abuse, dubious backstory and many more question marks that would have finished any other candidate. Now, eight years later, with a disastrous stint as Secretary of State behind her Hillary is there again, and this time the party hierarchy is pushing her as the anointed one, who was meant to sail to the presidency on the black and hispanic vote. 

But now that Trump is nearly assured some sort of bid, Hillary is the establishment's last chance to retain complete control for the next election cycle. And as the actual voting in the primaries so far has shown, the people are rejecting the political establishment on a massive scale. It will be interesting to watch the campaign play out, especially if Hillary does go head to head with Trump for The White House. And whichever wins it will be even more interesting to see how things play out between this November and 2020.
