DC Leaks Expose George Soros Manipulating Elections

Billionaire financier and enthusiastic advocate for a global authoritarian government George Soros has been exposed by whistleblower site DC Leaks, as having been involved in manipulating the outcomes of European elections. In a new release of hacked documents from the many 'philanthropic' organisations, all linked through his Open Society Foundations,that hehe uses as fronts foractivities aimed at furthering his political agendas, Soros' role in funding and organising extreme left wing groups to campaign for the abolition of national borders, borderline terrorist groups such as Black Lives Matter, and International Rescue, a charity involved in the 'resettlement of refugees' that seems unable to distinguish between refugees and migrants and between migrants and terrorists.

The new leak, published by the mysterious and scertive website reveals over 2,500 documents from international Soros groups, many of which expose work plans and strategies, for helping candidates sympathetic to Soros' political aims to win elections, and also plans for promoting and assisting third world residents who are in reality economic migrants who would not be accepted as immigrants to European nations through official channels to gain entry as refugees or migrants and be given asylum in Europe.


This new leak comes only a week after hacked Clinton emails exposed Soros issuing the then Secretary of State with orders regarding foreign policy. Considering Soros has recently donated over $25 million to the Hillary Clinton campaign, the question of how much influence he has purchased is a legitimate one.

So far in the current US election campaign, the billionaire investor has donated over $25 million to Clinton and other Democratic Party members, with much more expected before November. In return, it appears huge tranches of the Democratic Party manifesto were written by soros or his political apparatchiks. Soros has also funded Media Matters, founded by David Brock, who operates on behalf of Clinton in several dubious capacities—like running the 'Correct the Record' SuperPAC, which hires Internet trolls to spread pro-Clinton ideologies and undermine the credibility of Clinton's opponents on the Internet.

Soros earned his reputation as an immensely powerful and well connected manipulator when, in the early 1990s, he engineered an economic crisis in Britain by 'going short' on the British Pound (i.e. he made forward contracts to sell Pounds at prices much lower than the prevailing rate, but did it on such a scale he panicked the markets into selling the British currency, fearing it was about to crash. The scam, because that is what it was, became known as "Black Wednesday," and made Soros over a billion dollars at the expense of Britain’s economy. In 1998, Malaysia’s prime minister attacked Soros for inciting negative influences on the country’s economy through currency speculation.

Clinton’s running mate, Sen. Tim Kaine, reportedly had a private dinner with Soros’ son Alexander recently. Alexander Soros is alleged to have unfettered access to high-profile Democrats.

In their coronation of Clinton, the Democratic Party maintained that the massive amounts of money being pumped into their candidate’s campaign wouldn’t affect her at all. The connection between Clinton, who has embraced SuperPACs and large donations from wealthy and corporate donors, and the influence these donations have provided them in the State Department are well documented. But if Clinton was prepared to let foreign billionaires influence US policy in return for 'donations' to The Clinton Foundation while Secretary of State what crimes is she likely to commit as president.

If elected president, Clinton will continue exchanging favors and access to her big-ticket donors, as she courts their interests over those of everyday Americans who vote in elections but could never afford to buy influence. Soros’ access to Clinton and the Democratic Party leadership is well documented, as are his interests and concerns receiving special consideration. Democracy has devolved into a system that works only for millionaires and billionaires with the money and desire to assert their own voices in government with big campaign contributions, simultaneously silencing the voice of every American voter.

Clinton E-mails Show When Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton Allowed George Soros To Dictate Foreign Policy

A set of e-mail messages included in the latest batch of Hillary Clinton documents released by Wikileaks (the September 2015 State Department dump) show that while Secretary of State of the United States, Mrs. Clinton received direct orders on U.S. foreign policy from the Hungarian-American billionaire George Soros, who has made a fortune out of manipulating markets (and trashed the economies of several third world countries in the process.)

Soros, who for years has allegedly been pulling the strings behind US Presidents and State Department chiefs through his 'philanthropic' refugee charities and 'open society' groups, is known to have been funding the invasion of the European Union by illegal immigrants from Africa, the middle east and further afield. The Wikileaks documents show him to have sent a message to Hillary Clinton through his “special advisor” Jonas Rolett.

Rolett, who is listed as “Special Advisor to the Chair” on Soros’s Open Society Foundations website, sent a message to then-State Department official Richard Verma. Mr. Verma duly passed the message along to an e-mail chain including Hillary’s top foreign affairs advisor Jacob Sullivan, her Deputy Chief of Staff Huma Abedin, Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Philip Gordon, as well as a recipient “William J” – believed to be William Joseph Burns who was then Deputy Secretary of State.

The e-mails audit path begins with Verma forwarding a message, dated January 24 2011, from Rolett with the note: "Below message is from George Soros for the Secretary. Understand his organization was sending through other channels as well".

Rolett’s message continues beneath, stating: "Rich, Here’s the text of the message. I’m available to talk at any time. Thanks, Jonas".

Then follows what can only be construed as instructions for the Secretary of State from Democratic Party donor Soros, who has so far given her over $7 million this election cycle:

Dear Hillary,


A serious situation has arisen in Albania which needs urgent attention at senior levels of the US government. You may know that an opposition demonstration in Tirana on Friday resulted in the deaths of three people and the destruction of property. There are serious concerns about further unrest connected to a counter-demonstration to be organized by the governing party on Wednesday and a follow-up event by the opposition two days later to memorialize the victims. The prospect of tens of thousands of people entering the streets in an already inflamed political environment bodes ill for the return of public order and the country’s fragile democratic process.

I believe two things need to be done urgently:

1. Bring the full weight of the international community to bear on Prime Minister Berisha and opposition leader Edi Rama to forestall further public demonstrations and to tone down public pronouncements.

2. Appoint a senior European official as a mediator.

While I am concerned about the rhetoric being used by both sides, I am particularly worried about the actions of the Prime Minister. There is videotape of National Guard members firing on demonstrators from the roof of the Prime Ministry. The Prosecutor (appointed by the Democratic Party) has issued arrest warrants for the individuals in question. The Prime Minister had previously accused the opposition of intentionally murdering these activists as a provocation. After the tape came out deputies from his party accused the Prosecutor of planning a coup d’etat in collaboration with the opposition, a charge Mr. Berisha repeated today. No arrests have been made as of this writing.

The demonstration resulted from opposition protests over the conduct of parliamentary elections in 2009. The political environment has deteriorated ever since and is now approaching levels of 1997, when similar issues caused the country to slide into anarchy and violence. There are signs that Edi Rama’s control of his own people is slipping, which may lead to further violence.

The US and the EU must work in complete harmony over this, but given Albania’s European aspirations the EU must take the lead. That is why I suggest appointing a mediator such as Carl Bildt, Martti Ahtisaari or Miroslav Lajcak, all of whom have strong connections to the Balkans.

Days after the message was sent, Mr. Lajcak, named in the message, was sent to the Albania in order to negotiate the situation. At the time Mr Lajcak said it was up to Albania’s leaders "to do what we ask them to do".

Soros and his Hedge fund teams are known for manipulating major world events for both his ideological (Oligarchical globalism) and financial interests. In the U K he earned the title of the man who "broke the Bank of England" during one of the worst financial scams in the country’s recent history. On ‘Black Wednesday’, when Britain withdrew from the European Exchange Rate Mechanism, Mr. Soros made over $1bn in one day. Somehow he had known of the imminent withdrawal and 'going short' on the Pound currency. This means he made forward contracts to sell UK pounds at a very favourable price to buyers although at the time he did not hold enough British currency to fulfill those orders. He was betting (successfully, but was it really a bet?) that before the contract had to be completed his organisation would be able to buy UK currency for significantly less than the price he was committed to sell at.

His organisations, including Open Society Foundation, International Rescue, Democracy Spring and International Migration Initiative have also recently been responsible for agitating against the new, nationalist political movements, including Polish government, as well as in his home country of Hungary, where President Viktor Orban has repeatedly blamed him for the migrant crisis, claiming his staff are “drawing a living” from the problem.

In May, Breitbart London exclusively revealed the words of Tomasz Piotr Poreba – a former Adviser to the Committees on Foreign Affairs and Regional Development in the European Parliament – who said: “Not so long ago relations between the Clintons and billionaire Soros were revealed… Soros supports Clintons and Clinton followed his order. That is no secret.”

At the same time Mr. Orban declared: “…here, in Central Europe a shadow power exists, which is linked to George Soros, he is one of the most important sponsors of the Democratic Party, so I have to say that although the mouth belongs to Clinton, the voice belongs to George Soros”.

Mr. Soros recently called for the overturning of the Brexit vote to leave the European Union, and the Wall Street Journal revealed the multi-billionaire, while backing Mrs. Clinton to the tune of millions, is betting against U.S. stocks.

How Media Distorted Syrian Ceasefire’s Breakdown

One of the constant themes of this jorunal has been the constant misrepresentation of world events, particularly the conflicts in the middle east and Ukraine to skew public perceprions and persuade voters and taxpayers that Russia and China pose a serious threat to the security of western nations. While we have no particular reason to feel any loyalty towards Russia, we do not believe that vast nation or it's leader Vladimir Putin pose any threat to the west. In fact it is the western powers, NATO and the European Union, and the Obama administration in the USA that have constantly sought to provoke Russia and China. 

Coverage in western media of the conflict in Syria, the failure of US and NATO efforts to contain ISIS, the Russian intervention and subsequent breakdown of the partial ceasefire in Syria has illustrated the way in which corporate news media distort public understanding of a major story that has implications for the whole world and could possibly develop into a global conflict. The problem is not that key events in this saga are unreported, but that they have been downplayed, the significance to the west glossed over so that the threat posed by the ongoing conflicts is minimised in the perception of people who rely on mainstream (print and broadcast) news.

One key event most people in the USA and Europe are blissfully unaware of was the major offensive launched in April by Al Nusra (Barack Obama's beloved 'moderate rebels, though in reality they are every bit as brutal and bloody as ISIS) alongside US-backed armed opposition groups. The offensive received minimal coverage in British, US and European 'quality' newspapers, ignored by more populist titles and hardly mentioned on TV news. Even the most diligent news junkie however, would not have read that the offensive broke the back of the partial ceasefire. On the contrary, they would have gotten the clear impression from following the major newspapers’ coverage that  systematic violations by the Assad government doomed the ceasefire from the beginning.

The Obama administration of course had no interest at all in defeating ISIS and Al Qaeda affiliated groups, Washington's priority, their only goal in fact, was to depose Assad and install a puppet government in his place. In this they were supported by Saudi Arabia and Qatar. 

Corporate media heralded the ceasefire agreement as a great triumph for Obama and his Secretary Of State Jophn Kerry when it was negotiated by the United States and Russia in February, 2016. The  Los Angeles Times (2/2/16) called it “the most determined diplomatic push to date aimed at ending the nation’s almost five-year conflict.” 

The “partial cessation of hostilities” was to apply between the Syrian regime and the non-jihadist forces, but not to the regime’s war with Nusra and with ISIS. The clear implication was that the US-supported non-jihadist opposition forces would have to separate themselves from Nusra, or else they would be legitimate targets for airstrikes, something the Russians had always been very clear about.

The fact that the US backed so - called 'moderate rebels' that were Washington's CIA-backed proxy, providing armed opposition to Assad, was in fact Al Nusra  and the jihadist Nusra Front was an issue US media studiously avoided mentioning. The link was exposed in British and European media where some well informed people were starting to worry that provoking Russia by attacking its ally Assad, while supporting those trying to overthrow his regime was not the wisest approach to the middle east crisis. 

 US and NATO Syria policy has been dependent on the military potential of the Nusra Front or Free Syrian Army or any of the names the jihadists have given themselves for leverage on the Syrian regime. The 'moderate rebels' were unable to operate in northwest Syria without support from jihadists and from the Islamist regime led by President Erdogan in Turkey. This central element in US Syria policy, which both the government and the media were unwilling to acknowledge, was a central obstacle to accurate coverage of what happened to the Syrian ceasefire.

The problem of framing the failure to deafeat ISIS as a triumph for US foreign policy began as soon as the ceasefire agreement was announced. The New York Times published  a news analysis on the wider issues that were raising tensions between the Obama administration and Russia and to “the gaping loophole” in the Syria ceasefire agreement: the fact that “it permits attacks against the Islamic State and the Nusra Front, an Al Qaeda affiliate, to continue.” The notion that the 'moderate rebels' of the Free
Syrian Army were separate from ISIS had by then been largely discredited.

Hawks in Washington argued the terms of the ceasfire meant Russia could continue to strike United States-backed rebel groups without fear…of Washington’s doing anything to stop them.

On the same day the Wall Street Journal reported that Obama’s “top military and intelligence advisers did not believe Russia would abide by the ceasefire in Syria and wanted to ready plans to increase pressure on Moscow by expanding covert support to rebels fighting the Russia-backed Assad regime.” For two of the country’s most prominent newspapers, it was thus clear that the primary context of the Syria ceasefire was not its impact on Syria’s population, but how it affected Washington's geopolitical ambitions for global hegemony. In 2012 or 13 we reported that the Syria conflict was in fact a US / NATO engineered proxy war with Russia.

Contrary to western propaganda about Russian intentions to take advantage of the agreement to hit US-supported Syrian opposition groups, as soon as the partial ceasefire agreement took effect on February 27, Russia released a map that designated “green zones” its air force would not strike. The green zones, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense, corresponded with Syrian opposition groups that had signed on to the ceasefire. Furthermore, Russia stopped bombing the Nusra-controlled areas of northwest Syria, instead focusing on ISIS targets further west, a scenario Pentagon spokesperson Jeff Davis confirmed on March 14.

But instead of separating themselves from Al Nusra, the US-supported (i.e. controlled) armed opposition joined forces with ISIS affiliated Al Nusra and its jihadist allies in a major offensive aimed at destroying the ceasefire. 

British middle east expert Charles Lister, a Foreign Offive adviser  on Islamic extremism in Syria, has reported being told by the commander of a US-backed armed group that around March 20, Nusra officials began a round of meetings with non-jihadist opposition groups from Hama, Latakia and southern Aleppo, including those supported by the United States, to persuade them to participate in a major offensive against the Assad regime, rather than in a ceasefire and political negotiations.

The media, having ignored the events leading up to the collapse of the ceasefire enthusiastically reported  the offensive launched on April 3 by Al Nusra and its “moderate” allies, heralding it as the turnaround in the course of conflict that would finally persuade Russia to abandon its ally and lead to the downfall of Assad. 

The Los Angeles Times reportted  a “punishing attack” by The Free Syrian Army and several “so-called moderate rebel factions” on the town of Al Eis, southwest of Aleppo, “overlooking the M5 highway, a vital artery connecting the Syrian capital, Damascus, in the southwest of the country, with the government-held city of Homs, in west-central Syria, and Aleppo in the north.”

Associated Press reported that anti - Assad forces, together with US-supported factions in the Syrian opposition had “seized government positions in heavy fighting in northwestern Latakia province.” The story quoted Zakariya Qaytaz of the US-supported Division 13 brigade as telling the agency through Twitter: “The truce is considered over. This battle is a notice to the regime.”

The Nusra-led offensive was a decisive violation of the ceasefire, calculated by Washington to anger the Russians, whose intervention with their allies in Iran had halted the advance of ISIS in Syria and Iran, effectively frustrating the Moscow led policy of isolating the jihadists. It led to continued high levels of fighting in the most heavily populated area of  north west Syria, and Russian planes returned to Al Nusra controlled territory for the first time in nearly three months. Yet after the first reports on the offensive, Syria almost vanished from mainstream media until July. No US newspaper followed up over the story of vicious and destructive fighting, although British and European news did report events but with a strong anti Assad, anti Russian bias. Nobody on either side of the Atlantic took the time to analyze its significance in terms of US policy, or Washington's true motives in arming, funding and supporting “legitimate” armed opposition groups in trashing the ceasefire.

While serving as Secretary of State Hillary Clinton authorized the shipment of American-made arms to Qatar in order to fund Al Qaeda, and topple Assad in Syria, according to documents reseased in the latest batch of material published by Wikileaks. The email obtained by hackers and leaked to Wikileaks show Clinton took the lead role in organizing the so-called “Friends of Syria” (aka Al Qaeda/ISIS) to back the CIA-led insurgency for regime change in Syria.

Testifying under oath Hillary Clinton denied she knew about the weapons shipments while giving evidence to a Congressional inquiry in early 2013 after the Benghazi terrorist attack.

In an interview with Democracy Now, Wikileaks’ Julian Assange stated that 1,700 emails contained in the Clinton cache directly connect Hillary to Libya to Syria, and directly to Al Qaeda and ISIS.

JUAN GONZÁLEZ: Julian, I want to mention something else. In March, you launched a searchable archive for over 30,000 emails and email attachments sent to and from Hillary Clinton’s private email server while she was secretary of state. The 50,547 pages of documents span the time from June 2010 to August 2014; 7,500 of the documents were sent by Hillary Clinton herself. The emails were made available in the form of thousands of PDFs by the U.S. State Department as the result of a Freedom of Information Act request. Why did you do this, and what’s the importance, from your perspective, of being able to create a searchable base?

JULIAN ASSANGE: Well, WikiLeaks has become the rebel library of Alexandria. It is the single most significant collection of information that doesn’t exist elsewhere, in a searchable, accessible, citable form, about how modern institutions actually behave. And it’s gone on to set people free from prison, where documents have been used in their court cases; hold the CIA accountable for renditions programs; feed into election cycles, which have resulted in the termination of, in some case—or contributed to the termination of governments, in some cases, taken the heads of intelligence agencies, ministers of defense and so on. So, you know, our civilizations can only be as good as our knowledge of what our civilisation is. We can’t possibly hope to reform that which we do not understand.

Winter Is Coming

When I browse the news sites these days, the world looks more and more like the dystopian nightmare depicted in Game Of Thrones, apart from the fact that we have electricity and better plumbing.

So how can it be described as being 'a denier' when somebody says Winter Is Coming?

This is the dire forecast of Professor Valentina Zharkova, a solar physicist at Northumbria University, who has based her prediction on sun spot activity – known to be a significant driver of global climate – which is currently very low and likely to get even lower during the next three solar cycles.

She has spoken about her research and her battle to get it taken seriously by the climate establishment in an interview with the Global Warming Policy Forum. You can see it in this short film.

According to Professor Zharkova:

We will see it from 2020 to 2053, when the three next cycles will be very reduced magnetic field of the sun. Basically what happens is these two waves, they separate into the opposite hemispheres and they will not be interacting with each other, which means that resulting magnetic field will drop dramatically nearly to zero. And this will be a similar conditions like in Maunder Minimum.
What will happen to the Earth remains to be seen and predicted because nobody has developed any program or any models of terrestrial response – they are based on this period when the sun has maximum activity — when the sun has these nice fluctuations, and its magnetic field [is] very strong. But we’re approaching to the stage when the magnetic field of the sun is going to be very, very small.

The Maunder Minimum occurred during the depths of the Little Ice Age, a period of feeble summers and bitingly cold winters, war, pestilence and famine. It wasn’t all bad: rivers like the Thames in London froze so thickly they could accommodate Ice Fairs; and it’s said that the slow tree growth induced by the cold gave the wood in Stradivarius violins their special timbre. On the whole, though, a descent into a new mini Ice Age would be massively debilitating both to the global economy and people’s living standards. Since the Little Ice Age ended in the middle of the Nineteenth century, we have all got used to the comforts and agricultural advantages (such as being able to grow wheat in more northerly latitudes) of living through a period of global warming. A second Little Ice Age will come as a very nasty shock.

That shock will be felt most especially by the world’s climate alarmist Establishment, whose scientists and learned institutions have staked their reputation on the idea that CO2, not solar activity, is the prime driver of climate and that the planet is on a warming trend not a cooling one.

This explains  why when Professor Zharkova first released her findings last year, various climate alarmists went behind her back to the Royal Astronomical Society to try to persuade them to withdraw the press release.

Such behaviour is typical of the Warmageddonists of course. People who lie, cheat, "hide the decline" conspire to prevent their opponents work being published and lobby politicians in efforts to have diverse opinions crimimalised (the same methods as the medieval agents of The Inquisition used to suppress protestantism, Judaeism, atheism, paganism and freethinking,) will do anything to prevent their bigoted views being challenged by more rational ideas.

Once again then we see The Church Of Sciencology cult trying to suppress free speech and prevent unorthodox ideas being given a fair hearing. But to followers of The Church Of Sciencology cult, SCIENCE IS THE ONE TRUE, INFALLIBLE GOD AND TO QUESTION IT IS BLASPHEMY.

So now you know what we Global Warming sceptics are up against.

Ukraine Ready To Explode? Russia Deploys S-400 Missile System To Crimea.

Reuters reports that amid escalation tensions in Ukraine and a resurgence of hostilities in the Donbass region where ethic Russians are opposing Kiev's ethnic cleansing efforts, Russia has deployed its advanced S-400 air missile system to Crimea, the area annexed by Russia following the replacement of Kiev's democratically elected government in a coup known to have been engineered by the CIA on behalf of Washington.

 In the latest escalation between the Kremlin and Kiev, it was reported yesterday that Ukraine had deployed troops near the Russia border on combat alert, following an incident that according to Russia was an attempted terrorist attack. 

Russia’s secret service, the Federal Security Service, said on Wednesday that it had foiled “terrorist acts” prepared by Ukrainian military agents against infrastructure in the territory, with the aim of disrupting Russia’s parliamentary elections due on 18 September. Kiev denied the allegations. In response to Kiev's alleged actions, Russian president Vladimir Putin said he was pulling out of international peace talks on the conflict in eastern Ukraine. He said he was no longer ready to meet his Ukrainian counterpart, Petro Poroshenko.
This probably means the Minsk peace process, brokered by German chancellor Angela Merkel and France's President Francois Hollande, has been effectively put on hold ( read more here). 

 Ukraine has denied all accusations, while president Petro Poroshenko and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs rejected Putin's accusations that Kiev is committing terrorist acts in Crimea. "Accusations against Ukraine of terrorism in occupied Crimea are as preposterous and cynical as the statements by the Russian leadership about the absence of Russian troops in Donbass region," Poroshenko said.

President Poroshenko escalated the rhetoric when he announced yesterday morning that he has put all forces forces on the border with Crimea and eastern Ukraine at the highest combat readiness,  and said "we expect Russia to respond in kind very shortly, at which point we will update this story."
Overnight, Russia responded not once but twice.

First, after meeting the security council in Moscow, Putin and the Russian Navy announced war games in the Black Sea. This came only a day after the Russian president accused Ukraine of trying to provoke a conflict over Crimea, which Moscow seized and annexed in 2014.  The Russian Defence Ministry said its navy - whose Black Sea Fleet is based in Crimea - would start to hold exercises in the area to practice repelling underwater attacks by saboteurs. As Reuters adds, there were reports on Thursday evening that the authorities had cut off Internet access in northern Crimea close to Ukraine.

Ukraine called the accusations false and claimed they are a pretext for Russia to escalate hostilities. Such an escalation could be used by Putin to demand better terms in the Ukraine peace process, or to inflame nationalist passions at home ahead of Russian parliamentary elections next month.

Then, as part of its retaliatory re-escalation, Russia announced it had deployed its advanced S-400 (Growler) air defense missile system to Crimea, Russian news agencies reported today.

The announcement comes after President Putin promised to take counter-measures following reports of clashes between Russian forces and Ukrainian saboteurs in northern Crimea.

Though Ukraine may protest loudly against what it will call an unprovoked aggression by Russia, the real targets of Putin's move is NATO, which as was reported in late May, installed the long delayed US missile shield called Aegis Offshore in the Romanian town of Deveslu. Located a few hundred kilometers from Crimea, and hence, in defensive range of the new Russian rockets, this was seen as part of the USA / NATO to surround Russia with missile bases. Aegis Offshore has also been installed in the Baltic States which prompted Putin to warn that Poland and Romania "are now in the crosshairs."

Bulgaria Builds Massive Wall To Stop Migrant Invasion From Turkey

To hear the wailing and gnashing of teeth from the left of the political spectrum whan anyone in western Europe mentions the need for border controls to stem the flow of illegal immigrants into the European Union from third world nations in north Africa, the middle east and even further afield,st countries to be flooded it would be easy to think that only supporters of fringe groups on the extreme right are resistant to abolishing national borders and allowing the world's most prosperous counties to be flooded with semi - literate, uneducated, unskilled, unemployable wastes of space. In face a recent global survey revealed that a majority of people around the world support border controls.

The open borders scam, which would destabilise advanced societies, is a favourite tool of those who would establish a global government. In fact the main sponsor of 'philanthropic' groups promoting unlimited immigration and free movement of goods and people is none other than billionaire oligarchical collectivist, George Soros as we have previously reported HERE and HERE.

The globalists, having had things their own way for the past couple of decades are however facing a pushback of unanticipated ferocity. The latest demonstration of this comes in a news item from Bulgaria.

As Turkish President Erdogan has threatened Europe with releasing as many as 3 million new migrants, Bulgaria has stepped up its plans of adding a 20-mile-long wall along its border with Greece and Turkey.

Bulgarian authorities have expressed concerns that the closing of Macedonia’s border with Greece might drive migrants to enter the EU en masse through Bulgaria, if Erdogan carries out his threats.

The challenge, said Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, “is not only to keep the channel of communication with Ankara open, but also to ensure that Turkey will not allow the free passage of refugees to Bulgaria.”

Erdogan has said that Ankara will annul its agreement with the European Union (EU) to restrain migrations into Greece if the EU does not lift its visa requirements by October, allowing Turkish citizens to travel freely throughout Europe.

Turkey is home to some 2.8 million Syrian refugees alone, without counting the many thousands of Afghans and Iraqis who are anxious to get into Europe.

“The European Union is not acting sincerely with Turkey,” Erdogan said in a recent interview with the French daily Le Monde. “We have taken in 3 million refugees, whereas the EU’s only concern is keeping them out of its territory.”

The Turkish President has been using the prospect of new waves of millions of migrants to pressure Brussels into accepting his demand that Turkish citizens be allowed to enter Europe freely without visas, which he sees as a first step toward eventual Turkish membership in the EU.

Intelligence briefings published in press releases to mainstream media in the USA and Europe condidently predicted (not for the first time since 2011) that Syrian president, Bashar al-Assad, was facing defeat and was on the brink of fleeing the country.

Then Russia's Vladimir Putyin decided to take a hand. Aircrews and technical support staff arrived from Russia, the American's were warned not to get in the way, and Russia started to batter American-backed rebel forces with an air campaign that has forced them to retreat all the way to Libya (another country that benefitted from US intervention by being turned from Africa's most advanced and prosperous nation to a chaotic failed state, its infrastructure reduced to rubble by American, French and British bombs. 

Now the rebels (Obama's 'moderate' extremists) are clinging to a few besieged neighborhoods in the divided city of Aleppo and say their shipments of CIA-provided antitank missiles are drying up.

For the first time since Afghanistan in the 1980s, the Russian military for the past year has been in direct combat with rebel forces trained and supplied by the C.I.A. The American-supplied Afghan fighters prevailed during that Cold War conflict. But this time the outcome has been different, primarily because Afghan tribesmen are in a different league as opponents. Their land has not been conquered since Alexander The Great withdrew. 

“Russia has won the proxy war, at least for now,” said Michael Kofman, a fellow at the Woodrow Wilson Center in Washington.

Russia’s success in Syria, after American efforts proved ineffectual for over a year, have given Moscow new leverage in decisions about the future of the Middle East.  And since
the US was exposed as having armed and facilitated Islamic extremism in collusion with Turkey and Saudi Arabia, Washington's position has been growing weaker. Ma
ny European Union members, including Germany, Britain and France are seeking to rebuild relations with Moscow after supporting the economic sanctions Obama demanded in retaliation for Putin's humanitarian acts in Ukraine which prevented a genocide of ethnic Russians.

The Obama administration is now once again talking with President Vladimir V. Putin’s government, planning to share intelligence and coordinate airstrikes against the Islamic State and other militant groups in Syria. Putin has met his goals in Syria without becoming caught in a quagmire that some, including President Obama, predicted he would.

Some military experts in the west point out that Mr. Putin has saddled Russia with the burden of propping up a Syrian regime that could not deal with the rebels on its own. In response to that we must remind ourselves that the rebels were from the start backed by the USA and its allies in a bid to overthrow Assad, just as the rebellion in Ukraine that overthrew a democratically elected government that was not sympathetic to Washington's geopolitical agenda were backed by the CIA whose operatives engineered the coup for them.

The Russian campaign in Syria began in September 2015, after a months long offensive by C.I.A.-backed rebel groups won new territory in Idlib, Hama and Latakia Provinces in northern Syria. One problem for Washington: Those groups sometimes fought alongside soldiers of the Nusra Front, which until recently was officially affiliated with Al Qaeda. The people in Washington were aware of this, Obama and the Muslim sympathisers in his administration never had any intention of crushing the anti - assad extremists, deposing Assad and thus doing Saudi Abria and Obama's other Wahabbi and Salafist (fundamentalist) allies a  favour was always the priority.

The ISIS offensive prompted concerns in Moscow and Iran that Assad’s government, long supported by the Russians, might be in trouble.

Some of the rebel groups boasted at the time that TOW antitank missiles provided by American and Saudi governments were a key to their success. For several years, the C.I.A. has joined with the spy services of several Arab nations to arm and train the rebels at bases in Jordan and Qatar, with the Saudis bankrolling much of the operation. A C.I.A. spokesman declined to comment about any American assistance to Syrian rebels, somewhat futile in view of a notorious leaker of classified material whose name is Snowden.
