'Befriending schemes' part of the 200 contracts revealed by Rupert Lowe MP

The Express reports: More than £300,000 has been spent on ‘befriending schemes’ designed to foster relationships between local communities and asylum seekers and refugees. They are part of 200 government contracts for asylum seekers and refugees costing the taxpayer £6.6 billion discovered by renegade Reform MP Rupert Lowe, the Express can reveal. 

  Local councils across the UK awarded suppliers with costly contracts to deliver the initiatives over the past three years, with some “seeking ongoing funding”. Bristol City Council awarded a £211,200 contract to a supplier, funded by the Home Office, on providing a befriender for each refugee aged 18 and over who arrived in the city. This took place from January 2022-25, as part of various resettlement schemes.

Similarly, the London Borough of Newham awarded a £60,000 contract for the same program from April 2023-24. In Newham, ‘mentors’ were assessed and assigned to each asylum seeker with the aim of promoting independence and confidence building. They provided support to access local activities which also included group trips to London Zoo, Kew Gardens and the Arsenal Stadium. After hailing their programme a success, the London council said: “We will seek ongoing funding for the continuation of our work across London.”

Hull City Council also spent £37,560 on ‘befriending’ from September 2022-2023 for Ukrainian Refugees to ‘establish relationships’ within the community. A spokesman for Hull City Council said: “The contract offered using the Homes for Ukraine Scheme funding was awarded to Hull Churches Home from Hospital (HCHfH), a voluntary sector organisation which has a long track record offering support to people in our communities, including people from refugee backgrounds.

Islamists Are Slaughtering Thousands of Christians But the Media Don’t Tell Us

 

If 16.2 million Muslims been forced to leave their homes in sub-Saharan Africa due to violent persecution by Christians, we can imagine the news coverage by Western nrews media organisations such as the BBC or The Guardian would feature video reports by excitable talking heads or prited headlines taking up half a page about racism. There would be no effort to be objective or present a balanced view, the two sides in the conflict would be clearly lablled good guys and bad guys.

So why, when Christians are being slaughtered by Ilamic jihadists do we hear little about it.

Open Doors, a charity dedicated to supporting persecuted Christians around the world, is currently trying to put the media spotlight on the displacement of this number of Christians in the region by Islamist violence. But it faces an uphill task in generating interest in the  developed nations' mainstream media.

To draw attention to its campaign, Open Doors has produced a film featuring Pastor Barnabas, a Christian minister with a large congregation in a displacement camp for Christians who have fled Islamist violence in Benue State in northern Nigeria. Barnabas is shown saying: “Millions of Christians are displaced, here in Nigeria. Millions of Christians are displaced in Africa. The west doesn’t care about it, politicians don’t talk about it, governments don’t talk about it, global politics don’t talk about it. Nobody talks about it.”

One scene in the film shows Pastor Barnabas indicating the tent in which his family of eight has been living for almost five years. Their home is made of palm leaves and mosquito nets with some cardboard evident. “It’s smaller than a double mattress,” he says.

Open Doors reports:

Last year, and for many years, more Christians were killed for their faith in Nigeria than the rest of the world combined. The same violent persecution is quickly spreading across other parts of sub-Saharan Africa, as Islamic extremist ideology spreads: as well as these murders, huge numbers of believers are injured, abducted, sexually assaulted or forced to flee from their homes.

Pastor Barnabas describes the attack by Islamic militant Fulani herdsmen on his family farm: “I was on the farm with my brother, Everen, and his wife, Friday. We heard shooting. We saw people running in different directions. We didn’t know what was happening.

“My brother was shot by the militants, and my brother’s wife was also shot and then macheted and killed by the militants.”

There has been a general lack of journalistic interest in Islamict extremist activity in Africa since the outrages of Boko Haram over a decade ago, as if the horrors inflicted by these terrorist groups across Africa and also the Middle East, and the human rights abuses due to Islamic countries living under Sharia are mere white noise now. 

The most obvious reason for that is MSM, no longer an industry dedicted to reporting facts and disseminating information, but now merely the government’s propaganda mouthpiece, doesn’t want people to know the real threat level that importing so many barbaric death cult followers will have on our Western societies. Fortunately it seems, enough of us are finally realising that for ourselves, whether we like it or not. 

The reality cannot be suppressed forever. For instance, all those people who attended the ‘Festival of Diversity’ in Solingen, Germany  were of the ”Refugees Welcome” type, and look where that got them. Three people were murdered and many injured after a Syran religious fanatic, outraged by people enjoying themselves at tge festival, started randomly stabbing festival goers,  Psycho jihadists don’t discriminate and being a ‘virtue signalling woke idiot’ will not save you.

Another article focuses on the horrendous things going on in Burkina Faso, perpetrated by possible future ‘Dinghy People’. After all, it’s just a numbers game. The more you import from these areas of the world and from this particular religion, the more terrorists and dangerous psychopaths will inevitably slip through the net. We are already living with the consequences of this foolishness, this ”suicidal empathy”. Well it’s not like rigorous background checks are done or anything, is it?

”Oct. 7-like attacks happen almost daily across Africa. In at least nine countries, armed jihadists, following what they believe to be the precepts of Islamist theology, storm villages, and torture and murder innocent Africans. Boko Haram in Nigeria, al-Shabaab in Somalia and the Rapid Support Forces in Sudan are Hamas by different names.
Like the Israelis, Africans have their homes and schools burned. Churches are a prime target. Women and girls are kidnapped and enslaved as concubines, “wives” of warriors, or merchandise to ransom or sell—all to the screams of “Allahu Akbar!”

Not all the victims are Christians; moderate Muslims and practitioners of tribal faiths are also attacked. This has resulted in the displacement of millions of people who have lost their homes and livelihoods. Yet this is generally ignored by the Western “human rights” establishment, possibly because they cannot blame 'white privilege, 'institutional racism,' or 'the jews.'

German Interior Minister Caught Faking Asylum Numbers To Hide Migrant Crisis

 

Germany’s interior minister, Nancy Faeser, is trying to fend off claims that she has faked statistics on refugee numbers to hide number of illegal immigrants claiming entry to Germany by posing as asylum seekers since the beginning of this year.

While official figures show only 57,647 refugees have been admitted to Germany, the federal police have registered 101,900 arrivals of undocumented migrants since January, with the federal police data covering only four German regions: Berlin, Munich, Pirna, and Stuttgart. The figure cited by Faeser is 40 percent lower than that reported by her country’s federal police force. Meanwhile, the actual numbers are thought to be even higher when absence of data from other regions is considered.

Faeser is also being accused of even more dishonest when dealing with of the numbers relating to actual asylum applications. The Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) reports that 154,557 people have applied for asylum since January. However, this number is 2.7 times greater than the figure cited in the interior ministry’s “Migration Analysis Report.”

Faeser is also under pressure for failing to provide the federal police with October’s migration figures in the “Migration Analysis Report” — the report only includes data to the end of September 2022. Faeser may have incentive to hide those numbers from the general public, as experts believe October saw a major influx of migrants, which other countries like Hungary and Austria have already observed.

Germany admitted over a million new arrivals this year, with approximately 750,000 reportedly coming from Ukraine; however, they are not required to apply for asylum in Germany. Despite Faeser’s attempt to deflect attention from the migration crisis, towns and municipalities are being overwhelmed due to people fleeing the war in Ukraine and a large influx of  illiterate, unemployable migrants from Africa and the Middle East who are fleeing nothing but simply looking for free stuff. This has led to 12 of 16 German states to declare last month they could not take in any more refugees.

The controversial interior minister, a typically authoritarian socialist who has called for mass censorship to enable complete government and corporate  control of news and information while falsely accusing conservatives of racism, defended her refugee numbers. In a blatant lie she said her ministry only reports on those immigrants apprehended near the border and that the federal police force may be counting duplciate entries. This is obviously untrue, as demonstrated by the difference in asylum applications seen in the BAMF figures.

Heiko Teggatz, leader of Germany's federal police union told the Bild newspaper that "higher figures from the police reflectexactly what my colleagues have been telling me for months.” He believes stationary border control points must be instituted and argues that authorities could then reject asylum seekers who have made an application in another country “directly at the border.”

If Ukraine rejects a deal, there could be much worse to come

IN my last article in TCW I suggested that Russia was positioning itself for peace negotiations and set out, given what they now held, what the terms might be. Putin’s pitch to President Erdogan of Turkey came soon after and it was very much as I had set out. Today there are signals from the negotiations that a deal is ‘close’. To recap, this would hinge on Russia gaining the Donbas, perhaps after a referendum and no guesses as to how that would go; Crimea and its water supply; a corridor to the Crimea, either by annexation of territory on the coasts of the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea or else as a concession like that to Kaliningrad on the Baltic; and Ukraine giving up all ideas of membership of Nato, and also possibly the EU if the EU could afford them. Putin appears not to want to occupy the rest of Ukraine – apart from anything else, he does not have half a million troops to garrison it, even if he could pay them after the effects of western sanctions have bled him.

What would Ukraine get in return for such huge concessions?  No further (substantial) damage to Kiev and no encroachment on the port of Odessa on the Black Sea for sure; guarantees of security for what they would be worth; and presumably the safety of President Zelensky and his family. This would leave Ukraine free, but without most of its industrial infrastructure and its resources of minerals and gas, dependent on agricultural exports and lower living standards for Ukrainians. There might have to be some sort of Marshall Aid plan for Ukraine, with Russia making a contribution, or else a deal like this is unlikely to bring an end to Western sanctions on Russia and so even as Putin declares victory at home, the squeeze on ordinary Russians will get ever worse.

Historic roots of the Donbass problem explained

Current events have brought a renewed focus on the Donbass, a historical region on the border of Ukraine and Russia. By the standards of history, this area has emerged quite recently, and has always stood a little apart. It’s important to understand its evolution when viewing this crisis, which began in 2014. 

Today, Donbass is an industrial and mining region, but for a long time it was largely uninhabited. The steppe zone that ran along the southern borders of medieval ‘Rus’ (not yet divided into Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus) was called the ‘Wild Fields.’ It was home to nomadic peoples and farmers only moved south with great difficulty. After the Mongol invasion in the 13th century, the Wild Fields  was a dangerous place to find yourself. 

Around four hundred years, a few peasants from Russia and Ukraine began to gradually settle in the future Donbass.

A great leap forward came in the 19th century when the coal deposits discovered there became necessary for industry. It was then that many of the cities without which it is impossible to imagine today’s Donbass were founded. In 1869, the British industrialist John Hughes built a factory around which the village of Yuzovka grew – it had a few more names, including Stalino,  before a local man renamed it Donetsk, in 1961

As Energy System Comes Apart, Germany Now Preparing Emergency Natural Gas Rationing Plans

Germany is saying “auf Wiedersehen” to plentiful and cheap energies and welcoming tight supplies and rationing. Unless they radically change course, German policymakers will soon be closing the remaining nuclear power plants by the end of the year and coal-fired power plants will be phased out over the coming 15 years.

 To make matters worse, European policymakers are moving to phase out fossil fuel powered cars and to replace them with e-vehicles, thus leading to skyrocketing electricity demand precisely when supply is being choked off. Experts warn of blackouts and hyperinflationary energy prices. Moreover, Europe is moving to profoundly restrict its supply of natural gas from Russia. 

All these measures taken together are certain to lead to unprecedented energy shortages over the coming years. SYSTEM FAILURE: Commodities markets, banks, currencies and contracts begin breaking down… and the consequences will be catastrophic

In effect, the LME declared that it will now pick winners and losers arbitrarily, the markets be damned.

In doing that, the LME committed credibility suicide. There is now no rational reason for any investor or trader to trust any transaction at the LME, not in copper, aluminum, zinc, nickel or other metals. Markets no longer work at the LME, and you are only allowed to “win” a trade if the LME gives you the nod. Wins can also be retroactively stolen from you by the exchange reversing trades. They will actually go back in time to screw you over for past winnings.

Just recently in Canada, the tyrannical Justin Castro Trudeau regime ordered banks to seize private account holdings of citizens who donated to the freedom trucker convoy. Overnight, the contract of banking was ripped to shreds. Banks can no longer be trusted to protect the assets you have deposited with them. Instead, they will steal your money any time the government orders them to do so, utterly without any due process or rule of law, even if you have broken no laws whatsoever.

On a larger scale, the central banks of the world just stole $300 billion in central bank “reserves” owned by Russia. After Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, western banks decided this gave them permission to steal $300 billion in Russian assets, thereby destroying the entire concept of “reserves” in one fell swoop. Now, no rational nation in the world will trust western central banks to hold their reserves in a safe manner. Central banks are now train robbers. They will loot whatever accounts are held by foreign nations they no longer like.

In courtrooms across America and western nations, facts, reason and law are becoming increasingly irrelevant. Prosecutorial decisions are now made entirely based on virtue signaling. If a Leftist murders a Trump supporter in broad daylight, the charges will be dropped against them — this is exactly what happened recently in Colorado. But if a conservative does nothing more than peacefully protest at the nation’s capitol building, they will be thrown into prison for years without trial, even if they violated no laws and did nothing wrong.

China Quietly Buying Russian Oil As Kazakhstan Says CPC Terminal Halt To Last

Days after we reported that India stubbornly refused to yield to western pressure and continued to buy cheap Russian crude oil at a discount of around $30 to dated brent...

... today Bloomberg reports what we have known all along, namely that China’s oil refiners are "discreetly" purchasing cheap Russian crude as the nation’s supply continues to seep into the market.

However, unlike India’s state-run oil refiners, which have issued a number of tenders seeking to buy Russia’s flagship Urals crude among other grades, traders say China’s state processors are negotiating privately under the radar with sellers so as not to make their support for the Putin regime too glaring in light of Western opposition.

At the same time, China’s worst virus outbreak since the start of the pandemic has led to some oil refiners cutting back operations and is forcing analysts to rethink their demand estimates.

So on one hand, the Covid-19 resurgence is posing a threat to global oil consumption and may accelerate demand destruction, helping to rein in bloated prices that soared on Russia’s war in Ukraine, but on the other it seems the world is about to be hit with another lengthy disruption.

Sharron Davies threatened after criticising Lia Thomas competing in women's sport

The former Olympic swimmer waded into the row on Lia Thomas, who was born a man, competing in women's swimming 

Sharron Davies MBE revealed she has been threatened over her views on transgender women competing in women's sport.

Swimmer Lia Thomas sparked huge debate around the subject when she became the first transgender woman to win an NCAA swimming title.

Debate raged around whether Lia should be able to compete in the women's division after transitioning from a male.

Labour MP Charlotte Nichols congratulated Lia on her achievement, branding any criticism as "lazy transphobia".

But Olympic silver medallist Ms Davies argued that it was unfair for women for Lia to be competing against them.

Since airing her views, Ms Davies revealed on Twitter she had received "several threats".

She wrote: "I’ve received several threats to myself and my work because I present evidence based facts on the unfairness of male inclusion in women’s sport.

"Which is biological sex based decriminalisation. I will not stop bringing these actual facts into the light or be bullied into silence.

"I’m used to it now. But I feel we are turning the corner and open debate to find science based solutions are not far away that will protect the integrity and rights of females in sport as well as offering up ways to be inclusive but not as the cost of another groups rights."

Government of Canada data shows the Triple Vaccinated are over 5x more likely to die of Covid-19 than the Unvaccinated

War and Politics Behind Mass Displacement in Africa, Not Climate Change – UCL

A report from a new study conducted by University College London’s may cause a stir in the climate scaremongering industry. The report challenges the academic establishment's standard narrative of mass displacement in Africa being principally responsible for the creation of refugees in Africa and casts doubt on a number of other assumptions about global problems.

Wheras the climate science lobby can only point to a chain of pailed predictions relating to the disappearance of polar ice caps, the end of winter smows in the northern nations and the extinction of polar bears, in 2018 polar bears are actually increasing in number, satellite data (as opposed to the mathematical models climate scientists rely on for information,) show ice coverage increasing slightly, and both Europe and north America have experienced record snowfalls in recent years.

The report published on Tuesday contained the findings of a research project that links mass population displacement in East Africa over the past half century to social and political factors rather than to climate change, which goes against the "scientific consensus" we have been told repeatedly over the past twenty years is irrefutable.

Published by Palgrave Communications, the report examines the causes of populations displaced within states and those forced to leave their countries of origin and found that rapid population growth and falling or stagnating economic growth in African states within the last decade overwhelmingly accounted for the dramatic increase in the number of refugees crossing the continent, including those seeking sanctuary in Europe.

The authors of the report found links between local or regional conflicts and an upsurge in displaced people arriving in Europe in eight out of ten armed conflicts in East Africa. Another trend linked refugee numbers to unconstrained the population growth which began three a decades ago. It also concluded that economic slowdowns were indicative of 70 percent of population displacements a decade later.

Renzi's U-Turn follows a similar change of position by Angela Merkel, who infamously accepted nearly 1 million mostly Syrian refugees in 2015, only to see a surge in terrorist attacks across Germany and Europe, and a plunge in her popularity as a result of an angry social backlash, prompting her to quietly but forcefully end Germany's "open door" policy. It is now known that well over half those arrivals were not actually refugees from Syria but economic migrants from many parts of Africa, the middle east and south east Asia.

Now it's Italy turn to try anything that might stem the flow.

Last week we reported that with thousands of new arrivals each week in Italy (up 20% over on last year,) the government in Rome has threatened to close its ports to privately-funded aid boats - many of which are rumored to belong to organizations linked to the Hungarian - American billionaire financial trader George Soros, a self - styled Marxist who is on record as having vowed to destroy European and American civilisation and replace it with some kind of global, authoritarian socialist meritocracy.

Alternatively the Italian authorities may insist that funding be cut to EU countries which fail to help. Poland, Hungary, The Czech Tepublic and several other smaller EU nations are already making a united stand against Brussels imposed immigrant quotas. Italy's interior minister Marco Minniti said angry of the migrant traffickers: "They are sailing under the flags of various European countries. If the only ports where refugees are taken to are Italian, something is not working. This is the heart of the question."

One can see why Italy may be angry: with the Balkan corridor closed by non EU nations through which migrants must pass on the way to Germany, France, Netherlands, Austria and Sweden, the nations with the most liberal immigration policies and the most lax and generous welfare systems, Italy has emerged as the only available port of entry into Europe, although there are reports of migrants arriving on Spanish shores after that nation had not previously been troubled by the migration crisis.

More than 600,000 migrants have reached Italy over the past four years, the vast majority arriving by boat from Libya. About 85,000 have come ashore this year alone, accounting for the vast majority of European migrant arrivals.

As happened in Germany two years agoand is ongoing in Sweden (but glosed over by mainstram media in both nations), the popular reaction is one of growing anger and resentment at the way politically correct elitists of the EUare appeasing the religious prejudices of migrants by insisting onestablished population (assimilated migrants included) by allowing them to behave in ways which are totally unacceptable in European and American societies . However, the question has emerged: how does a "moral", liberal Europe square up to what is a growing undercurrent of resentment toward migrants, something traditionally associated with various loathed (by the establishment) populist parties? After all, if the same establishment admitted that what the "populists" offer is the right course of action, then a political crisis would ensue.

That did not stop Italy's former PM Matteo Renzi from saying that "we need to free ourselves from a sense of guilt. We do not have the moral duty to welcome into Italy people who are worse off than ourselves," the Democratic Party leader has written a book on the immigrant crisis, excerpts of which were released ahead of publication on the PD website.

"There has to be a fixed number of arrivals," he said, adding that Italy should help migrants in their home countries, and sounding suspiciously close like Italy's anti-immigrant parties.

Sure enough, underscoring the sensitivity of the issue - and just how hypocritical Europe's liberal crown is - Renzi's comments were swiftly removed from the website, but not before they had generated a backlash among some PD supporters, and glee in the right-wing camp

We, the old farts who put together this little blog reported on the hacking of the George Soros Open Society Foundation (OSF), the supposedly philanthropic group through which the stupendously rich capiralist and left wing activists has engineered Europe's immigration crisis, the chaos in Ukraine and Turkey, meddled in European democratic elections, bought politicians and influence in the USA, Europe and the far east and pushed an agenda for establishing a global totalitarian government at every opportunity. The strange thing is that while Soros claims his actions are motivated by socialist principles, his hedge funds seem to profit from the mayhem he causes.

 Some of the documents from the OSF documents released a few days ago by DC Leaks provide juicy insider details of how Soros has been using his money to undermine democracy, sponsor terrorist groups, target people who oppose him, dictate foreign policy, and try to influence a US Supreme Court ruling to his advantage, among other things.

You would think the large circulation newspapers and national TV news networks would be feasting on all this sleaze ans corruption, right?

Wrong; like the crimes of Barack Obama (treason, genocide, using his office to aid enemies of the United States etc. and the crimes of Hillary Clinton, fraud, theft, perjury, perverting the course of justice, selling military equipment to terrorists, accessory to murder etc. the crimes of George Soros do not seem to interest the media.

Last Saturday (20 August), DC Leaks posted more than 2,500 documents going back to 2008 hacked from Soros' Open Society Foundations' servers. Since then, the mainstream media in the USA have shown no interest at all in this gold mine of information. There has been some coverage in Britain, but only the sketchiest details have been given.

  Not a single word has appeared in the New York Times, Washington Post, LA Times, Boston Globe or Chicago Tribune. CBS News, NBC, CNN and other major broadcast news channels have even acknowledged the existence of DC Leaks, let alone the leaked documents on Soros.

Indeed, the only news organizations that appear to be diligently investigating the leaked documents are Bretbart (USA and UK) The US conservative online news site The Daily Caller, which as a result has filed a series of eye-opening reports, and the German financial newspaper Deutsche Wirtschafts Nachrichten.

So what gives?Is the the material too boring or inconsequential? Not as important as Kim Karashoans latest surgery misadventure or or Kanye west's leastes dickhead behaviour? Hardly.

In fact the leaked documents show how Soros' far-flung international organizations attempted to manipulate Europe's 2014 elections. The "List of European Elections 2014 Projects" details over 90 Soros efforts he had under way that year.The documents reveal that Soros has poured nearly $4 million into anti-Israel groups, with a goal of "challenging Israel's racist and anti-democratic policies." Also revealed is the way Soros proposed paying the Center for American Politics $200,000 to conduct a smear campaign against conservative activists.

More recently, an October 2015 document came to light showing that Soros' Open Society U.S. Programs had donated $650,000 to "invest in technical assistance and support for the groups at the core of the racist and hate - fostering #BlackLivesMatter movement." Since then, several BLM protests have turned violent. That same document details how this group successfully used its "extensive networks" to pressure the Obama administration into increasing the number of refugees it would take to 100,000, despite concerns that Islamic terrorists could use the refugee program to infiltrate the U.S.

A separate memo details how Soros tried to use his clout to sway Supreme Court justices into approving President Obama's unilateral effort to rewrite immigration law. "Grantees are seeking to influence the Justices (primarily via a sophisticated amicus briefs and media strategy) in hopes of securing a favorable ruling in U.S. v Texas," the memo, dug up by the Daily Caller, states.
 
Anyone with this much power and influence must be subjected to close media scrutiny, particularly when he has extremely close ties to the president of the USA, the wannabe president of the United States and has seen his businesses and charities thrown out of Russia because of suspeced subversive activity.
 
It gets worse, this year alone, Soros has given $7 million to the Clinton-supporting Priorities USA super-PAC, and a total of $25 million to support Democrats and their causes, according to Politico.
 
And when Soros speaks, Clinton listens. And when Soros says 'bomb Syria, (then) Secretary Of State hillary Clinton bombs Syria. And that is nothing to do with democracy. 

A separate email released by WikiLeaks shows Soros giving what read like step-by-step instructions to then-Secretary of State Clinton on how to deal with unrest in Albania in early 2011, including a list of people who should be considered as candidates to become an official mediator sent to that country. Days later, the EU dispatched one of the people on Soros' list.
 

If Soros were a hard line conservative who supported right wing candidates and causes, mainstream reporters (or the gay BLT vegan activists who pass for reporters these days,) would be all over these documents determined to expose any and every shred of evidence of influence peddling and misdeeds.

But because Soros, who is actually a fascist, has duped them all into believing his version of Marxism is the same as theirs, (they are in fact opposite, though Karl Marx would not recognise either), he apparently gets a free pass.but then hypocrisy always was the stock - in - trade of the elitist left.
