Global Temperatures, Impossible Targets and Scientific Follies

 

Various supranational agengies and Qangos including the United Nations IPCC, World Economic Forum, NASA, World Meteorological Organisation, Friends of the Earth various governmental and academic groups advising on climate change (global warming,) tell us that: ‘The 1.5-degree Celsius warming threshold is considered critical, as it is the point at which the impacts of climate change are expected to become increasingly severe.’

However it has been obvious for some years nowthat there’s no realistic prospect of humanity keeping global temperatures below the Paris Agreement target of 1.5ºC above pre-industrial levels – or indeed below the somewhat less precise target of ‘well below’ 2ºC. Both of these realities, although scientifically verifiable, are widely ignored by propagandists and mainstreeam media. So what is likely to happen if the global mean temperature rises by more. And more worrying, what will happen if some of the nuttier ideas of the clinate lobby, like spraying chemicals in the upper atmosphere to shut out the sun, are ever implemented.Here are a few simple facts about the great Global Warming hoax (all scientifically verifiable):

The 1.5ºC target:

In its 2018 Special Report, the United Nations IPCC recommended that, to achieve the Paris Agreement’s 1.5ºC target, global emissions should ‘decline by about 45% from 2010 levels by 2030’. In 2010 global CO₂ emissions were 34.0 gigatonnes (Gt). Therefore they’d have to come down to 18.7 Gt by 2030 to meet the target. But, just three countries (China, the US and India) already exceed that(by 2.2 Gt) and all are likely to increase their emissions over the next five years – as are over 100 other countries. Therefore, if the IPCC has got it right, it’s clear that the Paris Agreement’s 1.5ºC target will be substantially exceeded.

The Science: 

There is no genuine scientific evidence that a higher atmospheric concentration of carbon dioxide (CO2) will trigger the claimed dangerous climatic warming. It is simply an endlessly repeated assertion based only on output from mathematical models of the climate.. The much acclaimed models, run on computer software writteny by incompetent amateurs, are worse than useless, as they mislead the unwary and gullible. (As a former Information Systems progessional I am always astounded at the way 'scientists' assume they can write better programs that people who have been doing the job for over twenty years.)
 
Well estsablished principles of Physics indicate that whilst CO2 is a greenhouse gas it is a very weak one and its effect soon reduces to zero, each additional succeeding increment of CO2 having a reduced warming effect in comparison to the earlier addition. Most of the energy of the wavelengths that could be absorbed by CO2 have already been absorbed by water vapour, which is by far the more powerful greenhouse gas in the atmosphere. It is largely water and its vapour, in te upper layers of the atmosphere, which keep this planet warm, forming a protective 'blanket' encircling the earth. 
 

From the evidence obtained by paleo -  Geology, which allows us to to study the climates of earlier ages, it is clear that there is not even a convincing correlation between atmospheric CO2 concentration and the global mean temperature.

Eminent scientists, Physicists and Geologists, free from the constraints of government funding, or being employed by companies competing for government contracts, are able to explain how this great deception is being maintained. Amongst the physicists who dissent from 'the climate consensus', Prof. Happer, of Princeton, is the best for producing good videos.  Australian professor Ian Plimer is a leading authoity on paleo - geology.

What we never hear about through the MS media are the beneficial effects of the slight increase in atmospheric CO2 from our industrial emissions. Most green plants respond by increasing their growth rates, which helps to boost our crop production. An additional benefit is revealed by two decades of satellite photography, showing that the semiarid regions, like the Sahel of W. Australia are greening. This is because more CO2 allows plants to reduce the number of the tiny holes in on their leaves, through which they 'breathe' in the gas, but which through they also lose water. 

The above is a very simple summary of the flaws in the so-called science of' 'CO2 = Climate Change', That assumption is not just wrong, it is a total pseudoscientific fraud.

It is a scientific fact that a planet's surface temperature is completely independent of the gaseous composition of its atmosphere, only the surface pressure exerted by the atmosphere does that.
There is plenty of evidence, in addition to the known theory of compressed gases which is, of course, what a planetary atmosphere is.

It is just the same for stars like our Sun which, of course, doesn't have a solid surface.

The 'Net Zero' policy has no scientific basis in fact and will be impossibl to achieve within the promised timescales, and very likely forever without a huge depopulation event. It has the same validity of similar pseudoscientific 'cults' that have had, let me be frank, the aim of eliminating a particular race. Net Zero is, of course, not in any obvious way, to do with race. But it has exactly the same aim as the genocidal policies of certain political and religious groups both past and present: to control and dominate.

The same methods are employed, the 'cult that may not be questioned', the need for all to sign up to believe the mantra that we, the people, are the 'evil ones'. We must sacrifice our wonderful life, fueled using hydrocarbons that give us the ability to 'bestride the world', something that was said (by Shakespeare!) to belong to Caesar alone!

They climate change scaremongers and Net Zero fanatics don't give a toss about Earth's many climates, all they want is you (and me!) under their thumb. And if it destroys the world's economy in the process - so be it!

The Reasons Climate Scientists can't Tell The Full Truth About The Climate Change Threat

Editors at reputedly respectable 'peer reviewed' journals such as Nature stand accused of bias against researchers who challenge the established narratives on topics such as climate change, COVID vaccines and 'net zero' energy policies, appearing to prefer simplistic, scaremongering, unscientific stories based on output from mathematical models and speculation imminent disasters about to occur because climate change. But there are sceptics in the scientific academe who are pushing back against the politicised narratives.

One such sceptic is Patrick Brown, the co-director of climate and energy at the Breakthrough Institute in California, who has now admittted what us free thinkers have known for years about climate science: it’s biased in favour of alarmism.

“It is standard practice to calculate impacts for scary hypothetical future warming scenarios that strain credibility,” Brown wrote in research published by 'Nature.' So, after learning this lesson the hard way when his nuanced papers were rejected, he adapted his latest to suit their apparent prejudices – and it was published. Nature’s editor, Magdalena Skipper, responded by trying to shoot the messenger, criticising Brown’s deception as “poor research practices”.

It has long been an open secret that distinguished scientists who suggest that global warming is a problem but not a “crisis” get rejected, cancelled and marginalised by peer reviewers. Meanwhile, even the most trivial study that can be spun to support an alarmist conclusion – such as a notorious one that found fish behaviour to be affected by carbon dioxide – gets rushed into print, sensationalised and dramatised by mainstream media. Junior scientists, fearing their budding careers will be destroyed if they deviate from the orthodoxy skew their results accordingly.

One of the biggest measurable impacts of increased carbon dioxide is global greening – the recent increase in green vegetation on the planet, equivalent to twice the area of the United States and counting. But pointing this out brings a hail of professorial hate down on your head. I was even singled out in a Boston University press release for daring to suggest that more green vegetation might not be bad news.

Brown says that “there is a taboo against studying or even mentioning the successes of sceptical scientists since they are thought to undermine justifications for the highly political Carbon Dioxide emission reductions”. The problem is all solutions other than the 'Net Zero' policy beloved of the ruling elites areound the world but potentialy disastrous economically and socially are taboo. Brown writes: "If I waved a magic wand and gave the world unlimited clean and cheap energy tomorrow, I expect many climate scientists would be horrified: they would be out of a job."

This is true, The thing "climate scientists" fear most is that the research grants would dry up and they would have to do some real work to earn their living instead of playing with mathematical models on their computers.

Those who argue that climate change is real and a problem, but that other environmental issues are more urgent – the effect of single use plastic dumped in the environment, the effect of burning domestic and industrial waste from developed nations in third world states, overfishing of the oceans, invasive alien species, reliance of poor Africans on bushmeat and charcoal, to name a few – are treated as heretics to be persecuted.

It’s not just climate change. The main science journals have been quick to accept the Chinese regime’s insistence that a lab leak from a US funded bioweapons lab could not have caused the pandemic, ignoring the mountain of evidence suggesting that is exactly how it began refusing to publish several papers that convincingly argued otherwise and to investigate the issue, while gleefully reportin half-baked studies that stretched evience in order to implicate the seafood market in Wuhan. One such study claimed to have found evidence that raccoon dogs were infected and was hyped by mainstem media. The total debunking of that study by Professor Jesse Bloom was ignored by the same broadcast and print news organisations.

Taxpayer, you are not hearing the whole truth from the academics you fund.

One of the things nobody in the climate science community dares mention is in that plants cannot survive in low CO2 environments - anything less than about 250ppm (0.025%) would be disastrous for all life forms because Carbon Dioxide is an essential nutrient from which plant matter is formed and all our food originates from plant matter. Traditionally it has been assumed that the red line for plant survival is 150 ppmtion techniques (the current level is slightly over 400 ppm. Research for intensive cultivation shows 1600 ppm or more is the optimum for plants. 400ppm therefore is far too close to the 'dead planet' end of the scale and yet climate scientists are still trying to scare and bully policy makers into removing Carbon Dioxide from the atmospheres. Which is why Carbon Dioxide, demonised by the climate change lobby and politicians, is pumped into poly tunnels where so much of our fruit and vegetables are gown,) at 3,000ppm (0.3%) or higher, over ten times greater than the atmospheric concentration of the same gas.

Oddly, the Royal Society have published a graph purporting to show CO2 levels over the last 200,000 years and it regularly drops below 200ppm - so there can't have been any vegetation in these periods - although there clearly was, as evidenced in tree ring data - scientific data can be most inconvenient sometimes - so best to ignore it when it is. However, ice core data actually shows CO2 levels rising AFTER warming of the Earth, so it's clearly not a 'planet warming' trigger.

What should worry all of us who question the establishment naratives is how happy the global warming believers are about global warming. If our planet is facing imminent destruction from climate change one would expect people who believe that narrative to be crapping temselves. Instead we see them every day on TV smiling and grinning from ear to ear as they tell us how a few days hot weather somewhere, or havy rainfall in a South East Asian nation during the monsoon season is proof of global warming and that’s why in the liberal democracies of Europe and North America we must all be prepared to sacrifice our prosperous and comfortable lifestyles and expect miserable existences of impoverishment and discomfort in future.

A resonable person would think that these doom merchants would be happy to consider and discuss research that might prove the catastrophic predictions of their mathematical models wrong, that the climate change the world is experiencing is more likely to result from long established natural cycles that last occurred before accurate records were kept and that warming might not be as bad as they predict they respond like spolied children who, refused more sweets, become very angry and often abusive. I have lost count of the number of times I have challenged predictions of global destruction with politely worded arguments containing observed evidence only to be told I am an idiot, a child murderer, who, not being a scientist, is obviously incapable of understanding The Science.

However, a quick look at the timeline of their failed predictions shows it is they who for all their degrees and peer reviewed publictions, do not understand The Science and their self righteousness in response to being questioned gives credibility to those of us who point out that 'The Science' has taken on aspects of a religious cult.  There’s nothing new about mainstream climate scientists conspiring to bury papers that throw doubt on catastrophic global warming. The Climategate leaks showed co-compiler of the HadCRUT global temperature series Dr Phil Jones emailing Michael “Hockey Stick” Mann, July 8, 2004:

Their paper in European Physical Journal Plus is titled A critical assessment of extreme events trends in times of global warming and documents that extreme weather and related disasters are not generally increasing, contrary to the catastrophists feeding misinformation to the Guardian/ABC axis and other compliant media.

Was 2022 the U.K.’s Hottest Year on Record - Poor Quality Data And Bad Science Suggest We Should Be Sceptical

Scientists at the UK's official weather reporting organisation, the Met Office and 'science journalists' in the government's propaganda mouthpieces collectively known as mainstream media are joyfully reporting that  that the U.K. is on track to record its ‘hottest’ year ever (well at least since records began about 150 years ago). Thanks to a mild winter (January to March and autumn (mid - September to mid - December and a genuinely wonderful summer by British standards, the average temperature in 2022 is set to come in at 9.99^oC, up from the previous 2014 record of 9.88^oC. But how reliable is this, or any of, the figures we are fed in connection with 'net zero' propanganda and rising global temperatures, when measured against accurate satellite data

In fact the global mean temperature has not moved for over eight years. And before that, after peaking in 1998 average temperature dropped sharply for a few years before returning to the same level in 2013, after which there was another pause in what the climate change Cassandras claim is a constantly rising trend, until 2022. The infographic above, which is based in satellite data shows the Met Office claims that each year since hass been warmer than the last is not based on real world data. It has long been known that The Met Office and academics in various UK universities rely on 'adjusted' data from surface measurements, and it would appear their results owe a lot to some factor not related to actual weather. One suspect is increasing urban heat corruption, as well as some curious sitings of measuring devices.

The most curious placing of a measuring device (or perhaps not if you have a nasty suspicious mind like us Boggart Bloggers,) is half way down the runway of a military airbase that houses two squadrons of Typhoon fighter jets. The Met Office tells us that one of the weather extremes of 2022 was a high of 40.3oC on July 19th. Regular readers will recall that this blog has commented before on the bizarre coincidence which saw temperatures at that measuring station soar briefly to a record high for the UK at the same time as several of the jets were taking off for a training flight. Other reports back up our suspicions that the ‘record’ at RAF Coningsby, where that temperature high held the for only 60 seconds at 3.12pm are justified.

The Met Office first explained that the sudden rise could have been due to cloud cover, but a satellite photo shows clear skies across the area at that time and throughout the afternoon. Investigative reporters have since established that at least two Typhoon jet were operating at the base at the time. The Met Office has ignored all subsequent questions about the claim.

So far we have only looked at the UK, but this kind of scientific jiggery pokery is going on all around the globe as World Government propagandists try to whip up fear levels over impending climate disaster to match those reached at the hight of the COVID Biblical Plague scare a couple of years ago.

There is no scientifically organised system of data collection, other than the satellite date, (wich as has been mentioned is not used by government departments or universities when running their mathematicalo models of the climate. Instead we have an irregular scattering of thermometer readings from across the globe, which, it is no coincidence, are mostly sited in wealthy and socially developed western countries. Data is taken from these and adjusted (manipulated.)

Where there happen to be no thermometers, which is most of the world, and nowhere in the oceans for obvious reasons, the temperature is simply guessed at. From this total fiasco of a dataset of 'adjusted' (manipulated) data, we are led to believe that some bunch of government funded data propagandists tasked with politicising the weather through propaganda, tell us which year was warmer than previous years, often by hundredths of a degree. They also claim to know beyond doubt that the warming is caused by Carbon Dioxide emissions from human activities because "the science is settled," although any competent scientists will tell you science is never settled because the scientific method is founded on the constant questioning of everything.

Unfortunately it turns out the thermometers used to collect data from surface measuring stations are dogged by accuracy problems. They may have started in an empty field in the early 20th century and 100 years later are surrounded by buildings and heat sources they were never designed to measure to these kinds of accuracies and the error bars will mostly be larger than the temperature claimed.

We can also see that since temperatures around the world are hardly rising at all (only a fraction of one degree in the past 100 years,) despite more and more CO2 going into the atmosphere, that there was this shift to declare “hottest years”, as for most of the public this will lead them to assume that humans are indeed warming up the planet, when infact for 20 years warming has been negligible. Or as we saw in one of the Climategate emails that embarrassed the climate con artists “We cannot account for the lack of warming”.

A more honest lead author at the IPCC admitted. “There must be something wrong with our models, as a 20 year pause in global warming does not occur in any of them” —–(You won’t hear any of that on the BBC or read it in national newspapers, will you?) Plus, in all of these alarmist claims there is the ever-present bogey man of ECS (Equilibrium Climate Sensitivity)—–The number that tells us whether there will be mild warming or serious warming. —–The number is still UNKNOWN, and alarmists simply assume in their models that ECS is a large number, which kind of explains why their models are always WRONG.

So when the alarmist and even hysterical reports that 2022 was the hottest year ever, ever, ever. Woe,woe and thrice woe, we're all going to die, take it with a pinch of salt. The politicians are just trying to grab more power and the scientists are trying to grab more money via research grants.

If you read this blog regularly you will probably be aware of the global warming wars, the regular discussion topics of which are the politicisation of science (particularly that relating to climate and envronment,)   the ongoing struggle over government-led efforts across the liberal democracies of the Europe and North america and certain outlying farmsteads like Japan and Australia to destroy western civilisation and the prosperity of its middle and working class populations by using propaganda about an impending climate disaster to tranfer industry and commerce to the low labour cost economies of Asia, Africa and South America.

The main thrust of the global elite's attack on our lifestyles is through 'green' energy policies which aim to switch our energy intensive  economies from coal, oil and gas as fuel for electricity generation and heat for industrial processes and out homes and business premises. To stop the use of fossil fuels and their associated “carbon emissions, which the elites and their science whores claim are responsible for global warming,” and achieve 'net zero' a situation in which whatever Carbon Dioxide is emitted by human activity is offset by planting trees and other equally whacko but 'environmentally friendly' schemes. 

Lately, the focus of the war on prosperity and the food supply Carbon Dioxide has focused less on what might be called the “science” of global warming, i.e., the extent to which human carbon emissions may possibly be causing atmospheric warming and whether that warming might be dangerous and more on issues of practicality and cost of the proposed of transition from reliable fossil fuels and nuclear energy to generating the electricity modern societies rely on twenty four hours a day, 365 days a year from wind turbines and solar panels. After all, as to the “science” issues, we are instructed endlessly by our politicians and media that the science of global warming is “settled.” So what’s the point of debating that any more?

In reality the 'science' supporting claims that carbon  dioxide emissions from human activity are heading us toward some kind of planetary catastrophe is not only not “settled,” but actually non-existent, while nature itself is responsible for emitting many hundreds of times more Carbon Dioxide, which is by the way a component of the air we breathe that is absolutely essential to the continuation of life on this little planet. Nevertheless trying to initiate discussion on that subject can quickly lead to arguments couched in technical jargon and mathematics that very few people will try to follow or to mutually abusive mud slinging. By contrast, almost anybody can quickly grasp why wind and solar electricity generation can’t work to power a modern economy and will multiply electricity bills by an order of magnitude.

But don’t get the idea that everybody has just given up on exposing the fake “science” behind the global warming scare. In fact, the Manhattan Contrarian is on the case, as are the contributors to the excellent Watts Up With That website and Climate Depot along with hundreds of other websites created by healthily sceptical people who habitually question official narratives on many things and usually find that the version of events politicians, the media, billionaire psychopaths and Our New Unhappy Lords in the world of business and finance would like to force us to believe.
