Did Billionaire Thiel Save Free Speech On The Web

Extremist Libertarian billionaire Peter Thiel, one of the founders of Internet Hawaladar Pay Pal has now set himself up as a champion of free speech on the web while Internet giants Google (via YouTube), Facebook, Twitter and Microsoft. Not only did Thiel put up the cash for Hulk Hogan’s lawsuit against Gawker media, one of the worst offenders for denying opponents of its political the right to express an opinion, it turns out he has been quietly pouring millions into legal efforts against the left wing media organisations that try to suppress ideas they disapprove of, by branding people racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, and 'right wing nut jobs' guilty of 'hate speech' (as defined by Gawker contributors) for years.

Thiel describes his actions as philanthropy, a description that many of Gawker’s victims would no doubt share. The leftie nut job site made a habit of egregious, unecessary hate campaigns of everyone from former Alaska governor Sarah Palin to Conde Naste CFO David Geithner, brother of an Obama Treasury Secretary.

Naturally, 'progressive' (aka rabid neo Nazi and neo - fascist) web journalists aren’t taking news of Thiel’s secret war well. They think it’s a threat to press freedom. “Even Gawker haters should fear the strategy Peter Thiel is using to destroy Gawker” worried Vox, another progressive blogging empire whose political stances often mirrored Gawker’s. WIRED worried about chilling effects.

“As a libertarian, Thiel should support free speech,” complained Salon.

It’s a specious line of argument from supremely sensitive journalists upset that, with Gawker’s decline, the golden age of left-wing public shaming is over. They clearly think free speech is something only people who support left wing ideas have a right to, and that 'hate speech' is something only people who disagree with them can be accused of. Anybody who has been writing on the web for a while will be aware that most of the hate in fact comes from the left. Look at the hate attacks on Sarah Palin, Donald Trump, my Facebook friend Pam Geller, anyone who expresses revervations about same sex marriage or the elevation of transgender freaks to privileged caste status, or people who support immigration controls. It isn't just angry hater, it is irrational hate.

Thiel does not pose a threat to free speech, he is ending one. Only those who live in the left-wing alternative reality bubble as left wing jornalists and political activists could possibly think otherwise.

Italian Hottie Leads Anti EU Revolt In Rome's Mayoral Election

Decades of corruption and chronic dysfuntion have totally destroyed the credibility of Rome’s city hall, but at last, inspired perhaps by the anti EU, anti establishment mood engulfing much of Europe (viz this week's civil unrest in France), citizens are rebelling against the cosy cronyism of the traditional biopoly and the status quo politicians who benefit from it. Voters are abandoning traditional parties in favor of the populist ‘Five Star Movement’, whose candidate is 37-year-old lawyer, Virginia Raggi.

Putting her career in law on hold to run for office, Disgusted by the decades of corruption and cronyism in Rome's civic government, Raggi has put her legal career on hold to campaign for change and a return of power to the people through a truly democratic process. She now leads the pack of established party candidates in her bid to be Rome’s first female mayor.

Raggi has certainly measured the mood of Roman citizens well, they are sick of the antic of local politicians who see public office purely as an opportunity to enrich themselves by plundering public funds as well as the embarrassment of living in a city where public services simply don't work.

“Rome has to first and foremost get back to being a normal city,” Raggi said in a recent interview with Agence France Presse, "for ordinary Romans, it is an extremely difficult place to live and that is not right for the capital of Italy."

According to opinion polls, many voters who usually support Italy’s leftist parties feel betrayed by their leaders and are supporting Raggi. The shift toward the populist and anti-establishment Five Star Movement (and the equally populist, but exclusively northern party Liga Nord) signals more than a push back against the incompetence and economic failure of Italy's centre left. It also reflects profound dissatisfaction with the status quo of Italy’s political establishment, whom many see as a spineless lackeys of the European Union, and its de facto representative, Prime Minister Matteo Renzi.

The Five Star Movement was founded in 2009 by television comedian Beppe Grillo, a Eurosceptic who has publicly defended Nigel Farage of Britain’s like-minded UKIP.

France Chaos Becoming A Threat To The Entire European Union

France, the second-largest economy and second most populous nation of the European Single Currency Group (Eurozone) has become a shambolic centre of civil unrest and is close to being a failed state: French social and economic problems are so profound they now pose a threat to the whole European Union as the chaos looks likely to spill over into other member states where public anger over economic stagnation, high unemployment, unsustainable levels of immigration and E U authoritarianism have been simmering for months. Especially at risk is Germany, according to an analysis of economic correspondents of the German daily Die Welt.

In the follow up to the ongoing labor law disputes in France, which led to violent street protests and a massive strike by the country’s railroad workers, Die Welt’s economic experts, Holger Zschaepitz and Anja Ettel have given five reasons to be worried about the country’s future.

“While everybody is talking about Brexit, the referendum on the United Kingdom’s continued membership of the European Union mainstream media is studiously ignoring the mounting problems in other nations which threaten the common goal of a powerful Europe,” the authors write in their article for Die Welt.

They mention the rise of nationalist parties in many European nations as voters have become aware that the EU obsession with 'ever closer union' will mean the end of their nations' independence. Demands for a French referendum are gaining support and a ‘Frexit Index’ — a rating of the chance of France crashing out of the Euro within the next year, is looking increasingly credible.

Recent polls suggest that 74 percent of the French expect that the Marine Le Pen, leader of the Front National party and front runner in opinion polls on who will win next year's Presidential election will reach the decisive second round of the presidential elections.
One of the major concerns about France’s relationship with the Euro is the inability of their government to devalue their currency to help balance trade and “nourish” the economy. This is due to Germany having bullied other members of the single currency into tying their weaker economies to Germany's idustrial power house

According to economic analysts, in order to adjust its currency to the economic strength of the country, France needs to devalue their currency by at least ten per cent — impossible within the straitjacket of the Euro — and to restructure their labor market, which is also impossible due to EU labour laws which supersede any local laws.

Otherwise the country only has at its disposal debt-financed economic stimulus packagesand that approach has failed over the past eight years and could never be a long term solution (ask any educated person in Greece).

Until the financial crisis, debts grew synchronously in both France and Germany. Since then however, Germany has taken a curve and is now heading for a debt ratio of below 70 percent. Meanwhile, France does not have any control of its growing debt because France's Euro is linked to Germany's economy, and the debt will soon reach 100 percent of economic output.

In other words, all the French people will have to work without pay for the whole year only to pay off the debt of their country.

Surprisingly, France’s struggle with its debt comes at a time when the rate of interest charged by the European Central Bank (ECB) has never been lower. Which means things can only get worse

The socialist government is attempting to introduce legislation to end France’s traditional 35 hour working week. It is these reforms which have triggered the wave of protests and industrial action across France, bringing the nation’s rail network to a standstill while motorists suffer petrol shortages, and police come under attack from rioters. Despite the disruption, some 46 per cent of French citizens polled still support the strike action.

.Ghost Squad Hacks 'Corrupt' Major US News Networks, Plans To Disrupt Mainstream Media News Coverage

Ghost Squad Hackers, a group with close links to Anonymous announced that from Jume 1, they have launched a series of coordinated DDoS (Distributed Denial of Servoce) attacks against leading members of the corporate mainstream media. Tec.mic and Softpedia were the first to report the operation but their reports only tell part of the story.

Broadly speaking, the goal of the #OpSilence is to attack through the internet, all the corporate - owned, big government friendly major news networks that mislead and censor information from the general public.

More specifically, the news agencies who conceal the crimes of Israel, while misleading the population about the mistreatment of the Palestinian people will be the main targets. The operation is off to a quick start, Ghost Squad has successfully” carried out DDoS attacks on CNN and FOX News” already just this month. More attacks are promised, NBC and MSM appears to be their next target.

As mentioned above Ghost Squad has a close affiliation with Anonymous. The group insists they speak for themselves, they are essentially trying to build their credibility.

But the emergence of this group could be linked to the recent divide within Anonymous. There has been a “Civil War” of sorts in the hacker community recently, and the reputation of the Anonymous collective has suffered. In an interview with a hacker it was implied that Anonymous has developed a reputation for behaving in immature ways – more concerned with silly DDoS’ing attacks than changing the world.

Since the quarreling on #OpWhiteRose many people have splintered off, or left Anonymous entirely. According to Anonymour watchers, Ghost Squad is one of the groups spun off due to this ‘Civil War.’ In the time since this happened the group has exploded onto the scene, and has rapidly become one of the most influential and talked about hacking groups in the entire world in 2016.

#OpMediaControl as it has been dubbed, aims for the hacking of every major news network in the United States during the summer of this year. And the official start of Summer is only a few days away.

Using fake science to sell GM foods.

In a recent piece for The Times newspaper in the UK, corporate propaganda merchant Matt Ridley cites a new report from the American National Academies of Sciences (NAS) to support his claim that there can be no doubt genetically engineered crops are as safe or safer, and are certainly better for the environment, than conventionally bred crops. Ridley's case is based solely on biotech industry funded research findings and ignores the many reports prepared by independent geneticists and medical researchers which make counter claims that the known health risks make Genetically Modified food crops a no-no without taking account of long term risks, the consequences of which will not emerge for decades.

Ridley repeats the claims of the biotech industry that GM technology reduces insecticide use and speculates that future GM crops will be even safer, better for the environment and better for human health. He says that it is a disgrace that Greenpeace still campaigns against Golden Rice, a vitamin-enhanced variety that its backers claim could save hundreds of thousands of lives a year. In fact many research projects have shown there is no nutritional difference between GM and conventional crops and that higher yields can only be achieved through use of specialised (and highly polluting) fertilizers, and extensive irrigation.

According to Ridley, opposition to Genetic Midification from rich westerners adds to the cost of bringing such crops to the market, which he argues restricts the spread of GM technology.

In discussing the labelling of GM food in the US, Ridley argues that labelling food that has G M content implies there is something wrong. He argues that the recent NAS report makes the point that genetic engineering is a method, not a category of crop (it is, a method that replaces, for example, some of a tomato plant's genes with shrimp genes), and it makes no sense to single it out for special labelling because regulation should be based on traits, not techniques. Ridley implies, therefore, that GM is no different from food that is boiled or roasted as its actual content remains unaffected. By the same logic one could argue that it makes no sense to distinguish on labelling between peas and beans, corned beef and SPAM or wine and grape juice. It's about consumer choice.

Ridley finishes by saying the NAS report points out that “emerging genetic technologies have blurred the distinction between genetic engineering and conventional plant breeding to the point where regulatory systems based on process are technically difficult to defend.” This is completely untrue.

With a good dose of industry-inspired Public Relations puff , he concludes that because gene editing in particular will soon allow scientists to improve crops in ways that have none of the even theoretical risks that critics highlight, if Europe does not embrace biotech plants now, its agriculture will wilt.

Ridley’s piece is the usual concoction of misrepresentations, falsehoods and junk science we have come to expect of pro-GMO propaganda that rely on flawed sources and reports. Many other journalists who seem to have 'emotional ties' to biotech industry lobbyists have challenged their criticts to 'show us the evidence' but when they do, even citations from peer reviewed sources are dismissed as fake.

His major blunder is to have accepted at face value the NAS report.

In recent years American National Academies of Sciences has been compromised by serious conflicts of interest within its research arm, the National Research Council (NRC) studies promoted by NAS as authentic show GMO safety reports are authored by people with financial ties to Monsanto Corp and other big players in biotech..

A new report by Food & Water Watch “Under the Influence: The National Research Council and GMOs” highlights the millions of dollars in donations received by the NAS, NRC and other supposedly independent research organizations from biotech companies.

On its website, GMWatch discusses the Food & Water Watch report, which documents the one-sided panels of scientists the NRC enlists to carry out its GMO studies and describes the revolving door of its staff directors who shuffle in and out of industry groups. The report also shows how it routinely arrives at watered-down scientific conclusions based on industry science.

Some 11 out of the 19 members of the NRC committee listed in the NAS report have ties to the GMO industry or to pro-GMO groups. The two reviews of animal data relied on by the NAS to claim GMO safety are authored by people who also have conflicts of interest (an analysis of these reviews and why they are misleading is here).

Readers are advised to read the Food & Water Watch Report to see for themselves the massive conflicts of interests that Ridley either appears to be ignorant of or deliberately ignores in order to push a pro-GMO agenda. Lord Ridley has a track record for this sort of thing too, he has campaigned, presenting himself as an independent scientists, on the safety of shale fracking for oil and gas, without revealing his family's financial links to fracking companies.

GMWatch website notes that the NAS committee member chosen to speak about the food safety aspect of the report to the online magazine The Conversation was Michael A. Gallo, emeritus professor of environmental and occupational medicine at Rutgers University. Gallo is a regular pro-corporate commentator who in 2004 defended farmed salmon in the wake of research showing it contained high levels of toxic PCB chemicals.

In his piece for The Conversation, Gallo makes false and misleading statements, which are apparently intended to soothe public disquiet about the safety of GM foods; mistrust which has actually been fuelled the the industry's willingness to spend $$$many millions to suppress open discussion. For example, he says that any changes seen in GMO feeding experiments were “within normal ranges”. WTF does that mean?

GMWatch states it is an unscientific statement of a type often used to dismiss significant differences found in GM-fed animals compared with the non-GM-fed controls and goes on to highlight how pro-GM scientists make “pervert the scientific method” to come up with conclusions designed to mislead.
GMWatch concludes:

“It is well established that conflicts of interest affect scientific outcomes and conclusions in every field that has been investigated, from tobacco to pharmaceuticals to GM crops and foods. The public deserves better than the NAS’s biased attempt to convince the public that GMOs are safe.”

It is not the first time advocates for GM like Matt Ridley have used flawed reports to push for this technology and to attempt to pass off tainted sources as ‘independent’ and thus beyond reproach (see this and this).

It is gratifying to see that in spite of the money being spent on corporate lobbying and mainstream media propaganda in support of GM technology, and in spite of the (bought and paid for?) support from influential figures, the GM industry appears to be losing the argument.

Media Silent as Biggest Protests Since nineteen Sixties Sweep France

As the country prepares to host two million visitors at the showpiece Euro 2016 Football Championship in less than two weeks, labor strikes at oil refineries and nuclear power plants; fuel shortages paralyzing
aviation and public transport system; violent street protests; nationwide riots; and a state of emergency until the end of July to cover the Tour de France has proved a major headache for François Hollande — currently the least popular French president since polls began in France. The protests are being called the largest and longest lasting since the French Revolution.

Explosive Trade Union Revolt Plunges France Into Chaos

The first collaborative protest against the Socialist government since Hollande came to power in 2012, kicked off on 9 March. On March 31, nearly 400,000 people took to the streets, disagreeing with the sweeping changes to labor laws; though organizers put the number at 1.2 million.

Mass protests against new labour laws in France

On April 9, about 120,000 people marched in Paris and across France for a sixth time, protesting against contested labor reforms. Organizers called for yet another strike on April 28, and a massive protest on May 1, Labor Day. Reports of police officers clashing with protesters, deploying tear gas in several French cities, and protesters burning vehicles, smashing windows flooded the Internet.

In his response, Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said in the city of Lyon:

“I call on the organizers of these demonstrations to condemn with the same firmness that I do the unrest caused by these handful of thugs.”

Demanding a complete withdrawal of the draft reform bill, French workers stepped up protests, rallies and blockades in the third week of May. As per the latest updates, one in three gas stations across the country run dry, causing long queues at normally well-stocked stations. There are blockades at 5 of France’s 8 oil refineries. Nearly 1/5^th of nuclear power output is cut by striking staff. Since the nation’s electricity supply
has dropped, the government is forced to dig into its emergency reserves.

On May 26, more than 150,000 marched against the government’s plans to make it easier for firms to hire and fire. Reuters reports:

“In the southwestern city of Bordeaux, about 100 people targeted a police station, throwing objects and damaging a police car. In Paris and in the western city of Nantes, bank windows were broken and protesters clashed with police. The next
big day of protests is planned on June 14 [when French senators begin discussing the reform package], four days after the Euro 2016 soccer tournament opens in France. The CGT warned it could be disrupted if the government refuses to withdraw the draft reform bill.”

Although French Prime Minister Manuel Valls is willing to modify some of the proposals, workers’ unions are unwilling to back down. Particularly angry that the government is enacting a constitutional power to bypass parliament to pass the bill, several unions led by one of the country’s largest unions, the General Confederation of Labor (or the CGT),declared in an open letter:

“This week, the actions, the strikes and the blockades by workers from a number of industries to demand the retraction of this labor bill and to obtain new rights show that our determination remains intact.”

Plagued by dismal popularity ratings and high unemployment, President Hollande, who staked his whole term in office on improving life for the country’s struggling youth, says the labor reform is vital to tackle joblessness. Labor Minister Myrian El Khomri, too, defends the new labor law dubbed “the bosses law” by its opponents.

“This law corresponds to the situation in our country. We have an unemployment rate of over 10% the same as it was 20 years ago. It has improved over the last month, however that is not satisfactory. Our country created fewer jobs than other European countries [Between 2013 and 2015, 57,000 jobs were created in France, 482,000 in
Germany, 651,000 in Spain and 288,000 in Italy.] So for me the text and the goal of this reform is to be able to just improve access to employment.”

However, opponents of the labor reform say it will threaten cherished rights and deepen job insecurity for young people by helping companies fire staff arbitrarily. Henry Samuel and Raziye Akkoc of The Telegraph observed:

“The government believes it will create thousands of jobs but the IMF, and the French opposition say the reform doesn’t go nearly far enough to significantly reverse record unemployment, now at 10%, and soaring public debt, due to reach 98% of GDP next year.”

What Lies AheadThis is the first time a Socialist French government has faced a nationwide trade union rebellion in more than 30 years. The left’s opposition to the reforms has been vast, threatening to tear apart Hollande’s own support base.

The proposed reform has compounded the fury of many within the Socialist Party and the further left at what they see as
the treacherous, rightward course of the Hollande-Valls government. The protests have been led by the former Socialist leader, and ‘mother’ of the 35-hour week, Martine Aubry, who has =resigned from all her official positions within the party. Aubry complains that the rewriting of French employment law in line with ‘liberal’ pro-market dogma is a betrayal of the French ‘social contract.'”

An online
petition against the proposed changes has gathered over 1 million signatures, a record in France. According to a recent Le Parisien poll, a majority of French people favor labor reforms, but 70%
oppose the government’s way of going about it.

It will be a political suicide for Hollande if he rolls back the labor reform – he has promised he will not run for re-election next year unless he manages to stem the rise in unemployment. But as The Guardian rightly notes, it is not just Hollande’s political survival at stake, though,
but the image of France itself.

Six-Figure Fines for failing to use the right transgender Gender Pronouns?

This story broke a few says ago, but I was so gobsmacked by the sheer stupidity of this latest idiocy from New Your liberals I spent a week verifying it all. It was a waste of time really, I should have known that no matter how stupid New York and Californian neo - fascist 'liberals' have been in the past, they can always find a way to be even more stupid in the future.

The left was traditionally the politics of Free Speech, Individual Liberty, personal development and self determination. It was the left that celebrated anarchists, non - conformists, eccentrics and outsiders. Left wig writers and performers thrust obscene words and sexually graphic images into the public sphere and left wing critics supported them. I was a member of the British Liberal Party from the 1960s to the 1990s, tolerance and open mindedness were our watchwords, we tolerated homosexuality but saw no need to glorify it, likewise with abortion - Liberal politicians campaigned for it to be legally available, but not used as a routine form of contraception (watch the British move Vera Drake if you want to know the background to that). Conservatives were the ones who insisted on 'decency' and a kind of moral equivalent of foot-binding that produced many emotionally stunted, judgmental, self righteous individuals. A hypocritical brand of Christianity demanded moral regulation, both within the private sector and from the national and local government, to protect the public from being debauched by the dark forces of bohemianism.

Now, in an era of identity politics, leftists are becoming the ones who censor and and call for free speech to be criminalised, invent crimes like 'hate speech' and ban certain words and ideas they find offensive. This has led to some bloggers and new media journalists (and I'm mentioning no names here) dubbing them 'bansturbators' because they get off on banning other peoples' fun.

Breaking the new language rules of the the illiberal liberals is about to become very expensive in New York.

Washington Post correspondent Eugene Volokh recently broke a story revealing that the New York City Commission on Human Rights has issued guidance that employers, landlords, professionals and businesses can now be fined up to $250,000 for not using an individual’s preferred name, pronoun or title, under the New York City Human Rights Law, “regardless of the individual’s sex assigned at birth, anatomy, gender, medical history, appearance, or the sex indicated on the individual’s identification.”

Legal “guidance” for businesses in New York states: “Most individuals and many transgender people use female or male pronouns and titles. Some transgender and gender non-conforming people prefer to use pronouns other than he/him/his or she/her/hers, such as they/them/theirs or ze/hir.” So, if you willfully and/or maliciously refuse to call a person “they” as preferred, you can be fined.

People will be forced to use “ze”, a made-up word that has no meaning beyond subjective personal definitions, to refer to one person, and then required to use a different pronoun for the for the next person of the same gender you encounter tomorrow. And everybody will have to be au fait with the new terms that some groups, particularly blacks and the Gay BLT lobby come up with an a weekly basis. So far, the pronouns for the various types of transgender freaks include “ze,” “xe,” “ve,” “(f)ae” and “per,” and more. Some even insisted on “Mx.” instead of “Mr.” or “Ms.”

This mandated speech code amounts to a rejection of biology that is far more unscientific than rejecting evolution as creationists do, and yet the people who claim they believe in science are quite happy with it not only because it endorses leftist cultural authoritarianism (a form of moral fascism that has no place in democratic regimes)but because it threatens to make criminals of people based on somebody's subjective response to their behaviour.

For a group who claim to be opposed to privilege, this seems very much like creating a privileged Gay, Lesbian and Transgender caste.

“We can’t even display a license plate that says ‘Live Free or Die’ on our car, if somebody objects to the message because it makes 'ze' feel threatened (by others' freedom?) or hurts 'ze' feelings; that’s what a court ruled in Wooley v. Maynard (1978),” Volokh argued. “But New York is requiring people to actually say words that convey a message of approval of the view that gender is a matter of self-perception rather than anatomy.”

What’s more, Volokh warned, the Big Apple grammar police have declared that “refusal to use a transgender employee’s preferred name, pronoun, or title may constitute unlawful gender-based harassment.” Thus under New York state law it is a crime punishable by heavy financial penalties. This is not an empty threat, in 2012, Mirella Salemi, a Manhattan-based lesbian chef at a Mexican eatery, was awarded $1.6 million in damages by a New York county judge, because her employer, Edward Globokar, “threatened her soul” and held employee prayer meetings in the hopes of curing her of her sexuality. The fines were upheld in 2014.

President Obama’s dictatorial imposition of a transgender-bathroom policy for all of the nation’s schools makes it clear that if the rent - boy President's anointed successor managed to stay out of jail and gain the Presidency, the federal government will probably follow New York City. The Obama administration has prioritized gay, lesbian and transgenerr issues throughout its second term and has already taken the view that existing federal sex-discrimination laws automatically apply to "gender identity." The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission views it as illegal under federal law to persistently call employees by the "wrong" (i.e. biologically correct) pronoun.

And what is the correct pronoun for creatures that have their wediing tack cut off? Or for people like bruce - Caitlyn Jenner who hold on to their bits but dress in womens' clothes and 'identify' as women? Personally I call the latter chicks-with-dicks. But then I have no intention of visiting New York any time soon.

Brexit Economic Forecasts Are Nonsense And Pure Scaremongering

The contributors to this blog are fairly solidly opposed to the EU - not just Britain's continued membership of the supranational bureaucratic dictatorship, but to the continuing existence of this pernicious, authoritarian, undemocratic institution per se. We were all happy therefore to see that classical liberal journalist and writer, the estimable Simon Jenkins expose the scaremongering predictions of financial collapse as 'specious'. To be fair, the leave campaign have been prone to exaggeration in their economic forecasts too, but they were put in a position of having to rebut idiotic claims that Britain would not be able to trade with any nations that are EU members and that all foreign investment in Britain would be withdrawn if we vote for Brexit.

One of the worst culprits in the economic scaremongering aimed at bullying us into voting 'Remain' came from the Institute of Financial Services (IFS), an organisation that receives a significant chunk of its funding from the EU. It would be wrong to accuse them of corrupt practice or of distorting evidence, these people are economics academics and as such are probably so detached from reality they actually believe the unmitigated bollocks they talk. The case is that statistics is not a science but a branch of the dark arts, thus one can find evidence that supports just about any economic hypothesis a hippy on the mother of all acid trips could dream up. Sun-spots affect the price of oranges? Certainly, we have a graph that proves it. Prostitutes' knickers and hysteresis-driven fluctuations in the financial markets? Just check out this spreadsheet. All IFS have done is take the assumptions from many economic studies based on mathematical models of the post industrial economies and apply them to a hypothetical situation that probably takes account of about 4% of the correlative factors it ought to. Or as the aforementioned Simon Jenkins put it nailed in the Evening Standard.

The Treasury has, for the duration of the referendum campaign, switched from being a respected economic institution to being a lobbyist for Project Fear. Its notorious apocalypse algorithm looked like a schoolboy spoof, with its subscripts and squiggles “proving” Brexit would cost every household £4,300. (Didn’t the Treasury once prove that EU regulation cost households virtually the same?)
The Treasury thesis appears to be that the shock of Brexit would make Londoners poorer, interest rates higher and deter immigrants and rich foreigners from buying or renting houses in the capital. Prices would therefore fall. That is certainly plausible. Whether this would be a “shock” scenario for most Londoners is surely moot.
We are now entering a world in which economists simply seek predictions to support prejudices. The Treasury assumes that Brexit would lead to a fall in the pound. But surely that would make houses cheaper for foreigners to buy and push at least some prices back up? Why does Osborne not warn of a Brexit “soaring house price shock”?

These imponderables are clearly too great for any sensible person — but not apparently today’s highly politicised Treasury. The wisest remark perhaps comes from Johnny Morris of the estate agent Countrywide, who says simply: “Brexit would be an unprecedented turn of events, with a wide range of possible outcomes.” That is economist-speak for “no one has a clue”.

So, everyone from blokes in the saloon bar to social commentators have worked out that these economic forecasts are drek. If these experts were even slightly honest they would admit we simply don't know what Brexit would bring, but we can cope with it, we coped with world War two FFS.

It is gratifying to know that the scaremongering has backfired, particularly that of HM Treasury, which has face a legal rebuke because of its ignoring the impartiality rule on government departments in political matters, and David Cameron, whose inept attempts to use the government to campaign for the Remain side has put his future as Prime Minister on the line. While Brexit campaigners have been comelled to counter the spurious predictions of economic disaster, fortunately the argument for Brexit which was never about economics has swung back to the issues of sovereignty, legislative authority and the authoritarian, undemocratic nature of the EU. It is cowardly, unpatriotic and immoral to allow British sovereignty to be stolen by a gang of profoundly anti-democratic and unelected EU bureaucrats who believe diversity is something to do with the colour of peoples' skin and are intent on imposing cultural, ideological and religious uniformityon the very diverse peoples of the EU's current member nations. This is about preserving freedom and resisting fascism, not economics.

Russia Loses Patience In Syria, Unleashes Hell On ISIS

According to the reports coming out of Syria, Russian Su-34 jets have destroyed a series of oil production facilities operated by terrorists near Raqqa."Russian Su-34 attack aircraft have destroyed terrorists' illegal oil production facilities in al-Taura located 42 kilometers [roughly 26 miles] to the southwest of Raqqa," the Russian Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.

Raqqa is the self-proclaimed capital of the terrorist group Daesh, aka IS/Islamic State. The city also allegedly served as a hub for terrorist oil convoys making their way into Turkey. As er have reported, Turkey';s President Recep Erdogan was a key player in funding and arming ISIS and members of his family were directly involved in managing the trade in illegal oil. The Erdogan clan is alleged to have made many millions of dollars from their support for terrorism.u

On March 14, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that the Russian Aerospace Forces unit had fulfilled its mission in Syria and that its withdrawal would begin the following day. Moscow does, however, maintain a military presence in Syria, as a deadline for a complete pullout has not yet been announced.

Last month, Russian and Syrian Air Forces carried out coordinated airstrikes against Daesh in the province of Raqqa.

With peace talks in Syria deadlocked and conflict still raging in the country's northern part, Moscow is currently proposing a remarkable diplomatic solution to the country's seething ethnic tensions. Having eliminated over 28,000 terrorists since the start of the Syrian operation last September, according to estimates, Russia is now attempting to sideline the USA's ineffectual Obama administration and take the leading role in negotiations on the future of Syria, the Danish newspaper Politiken suggested.

Although the NATO / EU alliance sees Russia as the main supporter of Syria's Assad regime, Moscow, has recently tabled proposals for a new constitution, which would decentralize Assad's power. One of the proposals is to limit the president's term of office to seven years, Danish newspaper Politiken wrote. According to a think-tank under the Russian Foreign Ministry, the Russian proposal aims at substantially limiting the Syrian president's power to make Assad's resignation unnecessary because his role after a transition period will be nothing but marginal.

Russia proposes that the president should be responsible to the elected parliament. The president will therefore lack any legislative powers, which will be in the remit of an elected parliament. The Russian draft constitution also omits the formerly crucial principle that the Syrian president must be a Muslim, Politiken wrote.

In the draft of a new Syrian constitution, which was recently leaked to the media in the Middle East, Russia suggested that Syria should change its official name from the Syrian Arab Republic to the Republic of Syria, in order to appeal to ethnic minorities such as Kurds and Turkmen, Politiken reported, citing Gulf News.

In the light of this, it seems the latest Russian blitzkrieg on Raqqa, apart from preparing the way for a final assault by Syrian and Iranian ground troops, may also be a means of sending a message to ISIS fanatics that resistance is futile.

Silicon Valley's War On Free Speech: Google Plays Politics

Google, the biggest search company on the internet by huge margin, has, after allegedly to collaborate with the unelected EU Commission to influence the British Referendum vote on continued membership of the increasingly authoritarian bureaucratic dictatorship that is emerging from what was sold as a simple free trade arrangement between European Nations, buried a popular eurosceptic website on the second page of search results on the topic, the website’s founder, Dr. Richard North has claimed.

He said the Internet giant is "corrupt" (we've been telling you that since 2005, and its not just Google; Facebook, Microsoft, Apple, Amazon and most ISPs and cellular networks also collaborate with governments and supranational bureaucracies to pervert democracy and advance an agenda that would impose on us a global, totalitarian government.) North's remarks also implied Google supports a pro-European Union (EU) agenda, just one day after the EU revealed it is working with Facebook, Twitter and (Google-owned) YouTube to promote “alternative narratives” it supports.

Just yesterday, Google’s public policy and government relation’s director, Lie Junius, said the firm was, “pleased to work with the [European] Commission” – the EU’s unelected executive arm.

Over seventy per cent of Internet searches are made on Google (eff knows why, it's a shitty search technology). It is the primary source of information for low - infoprmation voters today and has been estimated to command the power to decide the voting preference of 80 per cent for some demographics, particularly those under the age of forty.

Its role in the tight-run EU referendum, therefore, could be influential.

So when the popular and eurosceptic EUReferendum website recently disappeared off Google’s first page of results on the topic – after being the top result for the topic on search engines for more than a decade – eyebrows were raised. But Google has a long record of penalizing sites which promote political points of view that differ from the politically correct prejudices of the semi - autistic nerds who control the company.

EU Referendum was founded in 2004 by author and researcher Richard North and was rated by the Financial Times as the UK’s most influential political blog in 2006. It remains the top result for the topic when searched on Yahoo and Microsoft’s Bing (and rates highly on DuckDuckGo, Good Gopher and StartPage.

But on Google now, it appears as either the 13th or 15th result, on the second page – below three government pages on the topic, four links to the pro-EU Guardian and Independent newspapers, one to the BBC, and just one to the more eurosceptic Telegraph.
