If Israel’s illegal assault on Iran has yielded any benefit, it’s the proof that Israel has been lying for decades about Iran “readying for war.” Israel has been readying an assault for years – but Iran’s obvious vulnerability to the attack proved just how unprepared it was for a military encounter. So what is Israel’s real goal? Anyone who follows the ravings of its officials knows by now that Israel is no longer content to murder helpless West Bank civilians or to torture more Palestinians in its dungeons. Even the Gaza genocide is only the first step toward a new sort of future. What Israel wants now is to be the unchallenged regional hegemon. These entities, along with their global network of military, political, and media assets, effectively shape and execute an international agenda oriented around perpetual war, resource extraction, and economic control.

In this broader context, Israel functions as a strategically located forward operating base—or to borrow a metaphor, an “aircraft carrier”—for Western geopolitical interests in the Middle East. Its citizenry, like those of many modern states, are socialized from birth to serve in various roles—soldiers, professionals, workers—within a larger ideological and institutional apparatus. The ideological foundation of Israeli society reinforces a sense of existential threat, encouraging a militarized posture that conveniently aligns with the long-term goals of Western financial power.

To maintain this system, extensive propaganda is required. Media in the West plays a crucial role in manufacturing consent, shaping public perception through a mixture of omission, distraction, and simplification. Critical voices are marginalized, while dissent—both domestic and international—is often criminalized or delegitimized. When Western populations protest the policies of Israel or their own governments’ complicity, they are often met with surveillance, suppression, or accusations of disloyalty or extremism.

The so-called “Israel Lobby” must be understood not merely as a group of ideologically motivated Zionists, but as a tool of influence embedded within a much larger structure of control. This mechanism is fueled not only by private wealth but by vast public funds—especially from inflated and unaccountable defense budgets—which are used to influence legislators, universities, think tanks, and media outlets. While the lobby is visibly staffed by individuals of Jewish background, its true function is not religious or even nationalistic in nature; rather, it is instrumental, designed to shape political outcomes that serve the strategic interests of global capital.

What is at stake is not simply Israeli policy or American foreign policy, but the integrity of democratic institutions globally. The Israeli state serves as a cover—an operational front—for deeper structural forces. So too do other global hotspots: Ukraine, certain European governments, and a host of NGOs and “freedom-promoting” entities. These are not independent actors but functionaries within a larger system that perpetuates conflict and concentrates wealth.

The question then becomes: who is really calling the shots?

The evidence suggests it is not elected governments, but the largest banking institutions and their asset management arms. These entities exert influence over political parties, media ecosystems, and global markets. They control not only the narrative but the very machinery of governance. Political figures who appear powerful—such as former U.S. President Donald Trump—are, in this view, often compromised and manipulated into compliance through covert leverage, including personal scandals and intelligence operations.

In this analysis, almost everything becomes a tool of this unaccountable power: Israel, the lobby, the U.S. military, taxpayers, media conglomerates, even citizens themselves. Belief in the dominant narratives—without question or critique—renders individuals passive participants in a global system that undermines their own autonomy.

If there is to be any meaningful resistance to this state of affairs, it must begin with public awareness, critical thought, and courageous dissent. The mythology of democratic values and humanitarian intervention must be confronted with empirical scrutiny and moral clarity. Only by dismantling the mechanisms of narrative control and exposing the financial structures behind endless conflict can any hope for peace and justice emerge.

Many of you will have been reading in mainstream media about de-dollarization recently, and may have been surprised to learn of the various attempts and strategies being deploted to facilitate trade among the various countries' currencies without using the US dollar, which has been the main reserve currency for intrnational trade since World War Two. You may be even more surprised to learn that Boggart Blog and its various offshoots have been writing about de-dollarisation and currency wars for over ten years. Most international trade is still conducted in dollars, which means the buyer has to purchase dollars in order to make the settle the transaction, and that often means the sale is settled at a U.S.-controlled bank ... a situation which many nations feel Washington has exploited unfairly to preserve its global economic hegemony.

The established world order has come to the dangerous state it is curreently in, because the U.S. exerts uses its position of economic dominance via he dollar to exert political influence. To put it bluntly the U.S.A. has "weaponised" finance. Avoiding the U.S.ninvolvement in cross border transactions is complex and there's a lot of resistance to change particularly from US banks.

There are a number of new, rapidly developing tools and organizations to do this job, and more importantly there are new players with major resources and even bigger motivations that have committed themselves to make non-dollar-denominated trade easy, reliable and fast. And soon.

Russia and China, two of the nations, along with Iran, that started the move to de dollarise world trade over a decade ago are leading, their BRICs trading bloc is likely to be the first major beneficiary of the new trading tools, and now Saudi Arabia has weighed in: SA has let the "price all oil sales in dollars" deal with the U.S. lapse.

This has now been reported in the U.S. and European mainstream media press , with all the appropriate consternation over likely impacts.

As many critics have pointed out, everyone knows _why_ other countries are motivated to de-dollarize. The question is "what's the alternative?".

If the Saudis actually do start pricing in currencies other than dollars (remember, letting the deal lapse, and actually pricing their oil in different currencies are two separate events), and if China and Russia really do build the multi-currency trading system for BRICS, and remember they have already started the process by creating the 'petroyuan' to rival the global standard 'ptrodollar vehicle for ttrading oil futuresd, this is certin to bring to an end the "exorbitant privilege" of the U.S. as issuer or the global reserve currency.

And that will be a major, major change in the U.S.' situation.

In the last few decades the global elites have been pushing, particularly in the developed nations, to shift financial activity from cash and paper cheques towards a “cashless world,” a trend that continues to be promoted by government, financial institutions, big business and the media. Physical currency is under constant attack and the majority of the world’s money supply exists in intangible electronic form. Governments and financial institutions are actively promoting a cashless society, raising concerns about individual financial freedom and our ability to protect our saving and assets from seizure by spendthrift governments and predatory bankers.

The US Federal Reserve’s latest update on physical currency use reported about 2.2 trillion dollars in physical cash supply. This includes physical coins (dimes, quarters, dollars) and green Federal Reserve notes. Nevertheless, there has been a rapid shift towards electronic funds. In the current era, the total global money supply is predominantly composed of electronic funds, with physical currency representing a diminishing percentage.

A similar trend could be observed in UK and mainland Europe until 2022 when cash staged a modest recovery over 2021, with the number and volume of cash transactions increased slightly. With the recovery of cash expected to continue for 2023, suggested reasons for this reveral include citizens concern about their privacy in an increasingly digital world, and people finding it easier to plan and control expenditure when using cash.

The concept of creating Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDC) to replace physical cash over the past year is now being discussed openly. IMF Director Kistalina Georgieva commented in a speech last year that CBDCs have already been introduced in The Bahamas, Jamaica, and Nigeria, with over 100 additional countries (including the European Union, the United States and the UK) currently in the planning and design phase of creating their digital currencies.

This relentless progress towards a cashless society is often justified on grounds of enhanced security, with politicians and executives of NGOs like the International Monetary Fund (IMF), various United Nations agencies, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation & Development (OECD) and World Economic Forum (WEF) all support claims that electronic transactions deter terrorism, money laundering, and counterfeiting though this is clearly bollocks as there is no computer systemIt is much easier to perpetrate cybercrime than real world crime, and cycber crime is more difficult to detect.

So what is the push to go cashless really about? Under close scrutiny it becomes apparent that the primary objective is an attempt to gain control of all financial assets and bring citizens savings and pension funds within the control of national governments and banking systems. Reduced reliance on physical cash facilitates increased surveillance of financial transactions, centralised planning of economic activity and greater use of coercive methods to fore citizens to comply with unpopular and undemocratic policies..

It is worth noting that in both Europe and North America face value of the highest denomination banknotes produced by the Central Bank is diminishing. In the US the highest note is the $100 bill, in the EU the €500 note is no longer issued and in the UK though the £50 note is still the highest value it has remained so for over 100b years despite the rampant inflation of recent decades.  Another sign of the bid to remove cash from circulation is the imposition of strict limits on the amounts one may deposit withdraw in cash from a bank account in a single transaction or per day.

Governments aim to benefit from a cashless system as it allows for more draconian enforcement of unfair taxation and the extension of central planning, while banks see opportunities to increase fees and impose naegative Interest Rates.

German Farmers' Day Of Protest Causes Chaos Nationwide

As yesterday's Boggart Abroad story predicted Greman farmers today launched a week of protest when hundreds of tractors and agricltural vehicles invaded the city and blocked streets and main roads in protests against proposed cuts to the agricultural budget which would been reduced subsidies to farmers. The farmers piled on the misery for Chancellor Olaf Scholz's fragile coalition coalition as it struggles to hold together a fragile coalition which includes the Green Party who want to abolish farming altogether and go back to a hunter - gatherer economy (that may be an exaggeration, but only a slight one,) and the Free Democrats, a pro - business party which supports market economics and unrestrained capitalism.

The government is also trying to contain the burgeoning popularity of the AfD (Alternatif fur Deutschland,) and anti - open borders and EU sceptic party, having failed to dent AfD's ride by smearing them as 'far right'. The calition's latest move it that they have, somewhat idiotically, put in motion moved to have AfD banned as a danger to democracy, thus identifying the governing coalition itself as a danger to democracy.

Convoys of tractors and trucks today gathered on roads around Berlin and most of the 16 federal states, in sub-zero temperatures in while protesters clashed with police and senior politicians warned that the unrest could encourage extremism.

The protests have so far forced Scholz's deeply unpopular government into promising policy changes to head off further unrest on the unrest while sticking to fiscal discipline after a constitutional court ruling in November threw its spending plans into disarray.

Needless to say these protests have been played down by German mainstream media and hardly reported outside Germany except by the alt_news community

"No beer without farmers," read one protest banner, while another tractor had a poster from the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party that read "Our farmers come first."

Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck, who was prevented from leaving a ferry as he returned from holiday last week when furious farmers tried to storm the vessel he was on, warned in a video message on Monday that farmers' right to protest could be exploited by fringe groups but thus has become a regular theme from EU member state governments facing mass dissent as they try to impose the extremist policies imposed by Brussels.

Farmers called the protests in response to the government's decision to phase out a tax break on agricultural diesel as it tries to bring its 2024 budget over the finish line while complying with the constitutional court ruling.

"For a farm like mine, I would lose about 10,000 euros," said a farmer from Bavaria, Ralf Huber. "For our businesses, it's a catastrophe."

The AfD party, preparing to launch campaigns in a string of federal state elections later this year, is supporting the protests, claiming it proves German voters dissatisfaction with current government and hoping to make enough gains to be able to force the Scholz administration to resign.

Hermann Blinkert at the German Institute for New Social Answers (INSA) said the government was in deep scheiss because will look weak if it u-turns on cutting farm subsidies, but will appear to have lost control if the dispute continues.

"The government has the problem that it has already gambled away the trust of the population," Blinkert said.

Currency Wars - Russia calls on BRICS to ditch US dollar

This blog reported organised moves by certain eastern nations to replace the US$ as the global reserve currency over ten years ago. Since then we have monitored developments in the so - called Currency Wars as they unfold, including China's launch of the Petroyuan as a rival to the Petrodollar, plans to return to a kind of gold standard economy to stabilise global trade in the face of increasing political instability and the unsustainable debt burden of the USA, and the rise of cryptos, digital currencies.

The sustainable development of financial relations and settlements within the BRICS organization is very important for all member states, Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov has said.

The statement was made at the Russia-China Financial Dialogue forum in Beijing on Monday, where Siluanov met with his Chinese counterpart, Lan Foan.

The BRICS group of emerging economies – which currently incorporates Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa – has been discussing ways to facilitate payments in local currencies between member countries. The bloc aims to reduce their reliance on the US dollar and the euro for accelerated growth.

“We need to further develop financial cooperation within the BRICS countries. Here we see opportunities ... to develop a payments system that would be independent of the infrastructure, which does not always fully fulfill the goals of individual countries,” Siluanov stated.

“Therefore, the sustainable development of financial relations and settlements on the BRICS platform is important for us, and we believe that it is necessary to work out such issues, and today we will consider a number of them,” he added.

Russia and its trade partners among developing nations, including fellow BRICS members, have started to switch to alternative currencies in mutual trade, after sanctions effectively cut Moscow off from the Western financial system. A growing number of nations are turning to national currency settlements in trade.
