True To Form Zelensky's Insane Demands Threaten To Wreck Trump - Putin Peace Inititive

With the Trump-Putin summit in Alaska set for early on Friday (15 August), Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is resorting to his familiar tactics, apparently in another bid to derail negotiations that could decide the outcome of the war. His latest (and most insane to date,) demands for NATO membership, $1 trillion in Russian reparations, and no territorial concessions reveal a delusional tyrant trying to prolong an unwinnable war for as long as he and the other crooked oligarchs in Kiev can continue screwing billions more from U.S and European. taxpayers.

On the heels of a Berlin meeting with European leaders and a virtual call with President Trump during which he hinted that a realistic soluton might be close, Zelensky today outlined his “red lines” ahead of the Alaska summit. As on all previous occasions when there looked to be a chance of a negotiated settlement his conditions are so unrealistic they risk prolonging a conflict that has already cost Ukraine a generation of men and left its economy in ruins.

“We will not leave Donbas,” Zelensky declared. “If we leave Donbas of our own free will or if we are pressured, we will open a third war.”

But here’s the brutal truth: Ukraine is losing and has been since day one. Russian forces recently seized two more villages in Donetsk, and hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian soldiers have been killed or wounded. Zelensky’s stubborn refusal to negotiate only guarantees more bloodshed, all while U.S. and European taxpayers foot the bill.

Zelensky maintains that Putin’s goal isn’t just land. “He doesn’t want a sovereign Ukraine to exist,” he warned.If that is the case now (it wasn't when Russia invaded,) it is perfectly understandable after the Ukies determination to escalate the conflict into World War Three.

Instead of seeking a realistic ceasefire to end the loss of life, Zelensky is again doubling down on fantasy demands, knowing full well that NATO won’t admit a war-torn Ukraine, and Russia will never pay $1 trillion.

Meanwhile, Trump is pushing for a deal to end the war. His 50-day ultimatum (now shortened) threatens 100% tariffs on Russia if Putin refuses. But Zelensky seems determined to drag this out, squeezing every last dollar from the West before the inevitable collapse.

In response to those people campaigning to prolong the war by posting scaremongering claims that if Russia is not stopped now they will advance beyond Ukraine once the Kiev regime falls and conquer the rest of Europe, such talk is bollocks. Putin has repeatedly made clear that territory is not Moscow's primary issue in the war. Rather his main concern is preventing Ukraine from becoming a future military threat to the Russian Federation by prohititing its joining NATO,ensuring its neutrality and limiting its military capacity. Putin did not choose to invade Ukraine on a whim. He did so because he considered that vital national security issues were involved. Barring military exhaustion, he is not going to stop without those issues being, if not fully resolved, then at least seriously addressed."

This all-important point is apparently entirely ignored by the European politicians and press. Certainly I haven't picked up the point being made in England though I can't pretend to an exhaustive survey. All the talk I see is of territorial loss or gain, the result of mainstream media allowing the idiot Zelensky to direct the narrative.

Trump's Economic War On Russian Trade Partners Will Backfire And Make Putin Stronger

A sequel to our earier article After Trump And Putin Lock Horns Peace In Ukraine Is As Far Off As Ever, which discussed the failure of the most recent face-to-face meeting between the two presidents to lay the groundwork for a negotiated settlement in Ukraine. Trump's knee jerk respobse was to threaten all out economic war if a peace deal was not agreed within 50 days, which prompted from Moscow an indfferent shrug in response. Now read on ...

The US threat to sanction key Russian commodity importers such as China, India, Turkey and Brazil with 100% tariffs has about as much chance of success as a one legged man in an arse kicking contest. In spite of Donny's bluster the 50-day ultimatum is expected to fizzle out without anything having changed. Trump may well have adopted the least-bad solution to outflank the pressure he’s been receiving from the war hawks in Congress to show a response to President Putin’s destructive aerial attacks on Ukraine over the past two weeks.

The grand strategy of American neoconservatives, inspired by Zbigniew Brzezinski’s vision in The Grand Chessboard (1997), aimed to secure US unipolar hegemony (full spectrum dominance,) by severing the economic bond between a resource-rich Russia and manufacturing powerhouse Germany in the Eurasian landmass. By rendering Europe a geopolitical vassal, dependent on American energy and security, the US could continue to delude itself full global dominance had been maintained.

This particular foreign policy, which Washington does not mention out loud very often, was suggested in a 2019 RAND Corporation study which explicitly outlined a strategy using Ukraine to weaken Russia through prolonged conflict. The 2008 Nato ploy to recruit Ukraine and Georgia, despite Moscow’s repeated warnings,that doing so woukd cross a red line set the stage for confrontation.

Victoria (Fuck the EU) Nuland’s role in the 2014 Maidan coup, ousting pro-Russian President Viktor Yanukovych, was pivotal in turning Ukraine into a Western-aligned proxy ready to provide a location and cannon fodder for the west's proxy war. The 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, provoked by Nato’s encroachment, played into this strategy, with the US and EU arming ‘democratic’ Ukraine with the intention if ‘bleeding Russia dry’.

The provocations continued despite the warnings by America’s own diplomats and academics including John Mearsheimer, who spoke against leading Ukraine down the ‘primrose path’ to self-annihilation. The neocon gambit has backfired spectacularly.

Recent interviews with economist Martin Armstrong and former UN Wepons Inspector Scott Ritter the economic and military situation facing Ukraine, Europe and the US following the disastrous attempt to expand Nato and the EU and carve up Russia. Their views coincide with other commentary and are well worth finding while available.

Here is our summary:-

Russia has won the war, an inevitble result since before the first shot was fired. With far greater troop numbers, more tanks and artillery pieces, better technical and logistic support western leaders must have been insane if they ever believed Ukraine could prevail. Russian Arms factories out produce the West by a factor of 10. The latest missiles are very accurate and virtually unstoppable. They can launch 500 drones per day and resupply them.

As a last stand 30k trained soldiers are arriving from training in the West. They stand no chance with an 8 to one killing rate. The Russians will advance to Odessa if no negotiations are available and, as they have stipulated from the start, Ukraine must be neutral and not host long range missiles. There has been some pressure is on Trump to supply these and reports claim Europe is also planning to supply their upgraded cruise missiles.

The Kiev regime still wants Nato troops intervene and many European leaders support this. This is very dangerous and could lead to retaliatory strikes on Europe. For this reason current thinking that Zelensky will be replaced within the 50 days and hop off with suitcases full of cash to one of his many foreign homes. Negotiations between the west and Russia to stop Ukraine being completely ruined will take place.

(Alternatively, Armstrong forecasts that debt driven western economies will be completely up shit creek within months and unable to borrow any more. The sanctions and sabotage of cheap Russian energy is ruining the economies and the existing Uniparties will be taken over by Populists. In order to avoid this, they are counting on a patriotic war with Russia and are borrowing to re-arm Germany.)

After Trump and Putin Lock Horns Peace In Ukraine Is As Far Off As Ever

Russia launched probably the largest aerial assaults of the war on Ukraine overnight, unleashing more than 500 drones, with Kyiv as the primary target. The timing of the attack—just hours after a phone call between President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin which yielded no success toward ending the war in Eastern Europe, seems significant. Coupled with other developments it may indicate that the Russians are finally out of patience with the Ukies insane refusal to amit defeat, and are preparing to overrun their neo - Nazi neighbour.

Ukraine claims that Russia is gearing up for a large-scale offensive there, a Russian security source denied any such plans, while the US is closely monitoring the situation. All such claims, from either side, are of course propaganda and as such should be treated with scepticism..

This follows the Wall Street Journal’s (WSJ) report alleging that Russia has assembled 50,000 troops in preparation for that. A Russian security source denied such plans in comments to TASS, however, and instead described the aforesaid claims as part of a Ukrainian Military Intelligence campaign to demonise Russia and bolster support for Kiev's futile resistance to all efforts at ending the conflict.

The results of yesterday's conversation between Trump and Putin have done nothing to break the stalemate,both sides have spoken and in essence, their comments match.

The Kremlin said that Trump called for an early ceasefire, but Putin effectively denied it, saying that he continues to pursue the "objectives of the SMO" and will not back down from them.

Trump also said that he has made no progress in his talks with Putin, is not happy about it, and is very disappointed.

Note that this is perhaps the first time Trump has been this negative about the results of his conversation with Putin.

It is another blow to the conspiracy theory widespread in Ukraine, Russia and the West that Trump and Putin supposedly agreed on everything regarding Ukraine and are now forcing Zelensky and co. into these agreements. The halt of arms shipments to Kiev is also interpreted in this context.

4 years ago the Russians had already set out their demands precisely. The Russians wanted to act in December 2021, but the West, led by the USA, did not respond to their offers and even ridiculed Russia through various statements or through the media.

Russia wanted a guarantee that Ukraine would not be admitted into NATO, and the areas containing ethnic Russian populations whivh were being persecuted by the (American/NATO-installed) Ukraine government. In addition Moscow demanded the surrender of the Russian speaking territories by Ukraine so that they could be absorbed into the Russian Federation. When the Soviet Union dissolved each of the areas should have been given the opportunity to have a plebiscite and determine which capital would gain their loyalty.

Creating national borders without paying attention to ethnic and tribal boundaries always seems to cause trouble. Humans tend to want to congregate with others like themselves, not with strangers with strange customs. The ability to merge various ethnic groups - admittedly mostly from Europe - into a single entity was a key to America's ascension.

Unfortunately, the Black Sea port of Odessa was more Russian than Ukrainian going back at least as far as Catherine the Great. It was also an early site of anti-Russian activities once under the current Ukraine regime. How this would be resolved is unclear.

Thus as the Kiev regime's campaign to effect the ethnic cleansing of Ukrainian territory was stepped up, in February 2022 the Russian government launched their action against Ukraine. If the Western allies had been willing in December 2021 or again in April 2022 to negotiate with them then maybe in the first case the invasion of Ukraine would not have happened and in the second, the carnage of the past three years could largely have been averted.

But the West decided to go on a pissing match with Russia as long as the Russians lost patience and entered the territory of Ukraine to criticize them for violating agreements and laws which were much more violated mainly by the USA but also by Western European countries. In Kiev the corrupt, neo - Nazi oligarchs who now govern Ukraine saw opportunities to enrich themselves from a war and were happy to volunteer Ukrainian citizens as cannon fodder in a proxy war aimed at achiving regime change in Moscow. The Russians have already sacrificed enough of their people and finances to now back down from their demands As long as Russia does not cut Ukraine off from the Black Sea, the conflict will not be over for the time being ..which will be a disaster for Ukraine.

Ukraine Claims More Hits On Airbase, Defense Factories Deep Inside Russia - Invites More Russian Retaliation

Last night Ukrainian forces overnight targeted key Russian sites with more drone attacks, while simultaneously Russian cruise missiles were fired against Kiev and other regions of Ukraine, killing at least four and wounding twenty in the Ukrainian capital.

"Kyiv came under another attack involving drones and ballistic missiles. Rescuers are responding to the aftermath at several locations across the city," the State Emergency Service of Ukraine announced on Telegram. Russia allegedly fired over 400 projectiles into Ukraine, though most were said to be downed by air defenses. On the other side, two airbases, a fuel depot and aviation were reportedly struck deep in Russia overnight.

As usual Boggart Blog adds the caveat that this is propaganda from both sides and while we accept there were air strikes we should be sceptical about any claims regarding their scale or success.

Stupid Ukrainians. It can’t be in the nation's interests to get even more hammered yet they keep provoking Russia by escalating the conflict. Unfortunately Russian strikes of increasing ferocity is probably the only way to stop the war. However there is unlikely to be any end to the fighting as long as the Ukies are stupid enought to let themselves be played by their so called allies.

The USA/EU/NATO psychos are bound and determined to start this major war but want Russia weakened first. So they are arming Ukraine and hoping prolonged war will bring about regime change, economic chaos and civil unrest in Moscow. That might happen, but they might wind up igniting WWIII as well. They created WWI and WWII, so it seems fitting; a pattern. Hold on to your hats folks, as we're headed for chaos, death and destruction.

The only people that should be attacked and dispensed with are OUR LEADERS (and the evil bad actors in the background). Same old story... "we the people" don't act, and then we get shat on.

Ukraine Escalation To Derail Peace Hopes Is Becoming A Pattern

Yesterday Vladimir Putin presented his demands for both a ceasefire and negotiating a deal to end the war in Ukraine. Russian negotiators tabled a long memorandum, resembling a complete capitulation for Ukraine, in a second round of direct talks with Kyiv in Istanbul on Monday. The document is not a foundation for peace but may be a basis for a Trump Putin meeting which could result in the USA presuring the Ukies to stop being stupid and face reality.

The document contains Moscow’s “basic parameters of a final settlement”, stipulating that Ukraine must withdraw its troops from four Russian speaking regions, and that international recognition of Russian sovereignty over them and Crimea must be granted.

Kyiv must also accept limits on the size of its military, as well as to permanent neutrality and to having no foreign troops deployed on its territory.

Diplomatic and economic ties between the two nations must be restored, including the restoration of Russian natural gas pipelines through Ukraine. Other demands included a ban on “glorification or promotion of Nazism and neo-Nazism”, and for the Russian language to be given official status

In response Ukraine today revealed they had conducted the third major sabotage bombing of the key bridge linking the Russian mainland to the Crimean peninsula:

Ukraine said it attacked the Crimean Bridge with explosives as Russia closed traffic on the route linking the annexed Black Sea peninsula with the Russian mainland.
Agents planted mines on underwater supports and detonated them on Tuesday, the Ukrainian Security Service, known as the SBU, said in a statement on Telegram. The SBU said the operation took place over several months and left the bridge in an emergency condition, which couldn’t be independently verified.

Over the weekend Ukrainian special forces have been busy blowing up other civilian bridges inside Russia as well, resulting in the deaths of seven people, and scores more casualties

It's all fun and games until someone gets nuked.

Typical of the crazy Ukies though, every time a road to peace opens up they do something to destroy it and escalate the conflict. And European leaders urge them on.I don't think enough people understand how Russia's 'dead man's hand' system works. We could [theoretically] nuke seven shades of shit out of them, effectively killing everyone. The moment the launch systems don't receive a handshake signal at a designated time, all their ICBMs launch on all cities considered to be enemies of Russia.

It is beyond doubt that the USA and China have similar arrrangements. And yet leaders of NATOs European member states are still eager to encourage the crazy Ukies to continue poking the bear.

These warmongers are playing games with all of our lives - and all of civilization for that matter - like it's a game. These are literally the highest stakes possible!

A WW3 scenario will be a disaster for the entire world, but especially for the European nations whose leaders seem most eager to engage in direct conflict with Russia and its allies. We know European politics is a collection of clown shows but do these idiots not realise their populations will be obliterated, their economies destroyed, and poverty, disease, and malnutrition would be rife.

Notice how all Western nations are run on debt and fiat money and cannot posdibly afford to rearm themselves. The emasculation of Western manhood tht has taken place over the last 50 years is the reason why the world and western military powers are in the hole they're in.

After the inevitable collapse happens, for those that survive there must be a return to old values derived from Greek and Roman civilisations and the triabal societies of northern Europe, and honor (self respect and a sense of duty,) ... without these things Western civilization will cease to exist and this abandonment of tradiional culture is the reason why it is currently dying as China and its allies wait to step into the vacuum.

Trump tells Putin: Stop This War Or Face Consequences - Serious Threat Or Opening Gambit

Newly inaugurated US President Donald Trump on Wednesday warned Russian President Putin that he would face taxes, tariffs and sanctions if Russia did agree to opening negotiations on a deal to end the war in Ukraine. The threat was delivered on his Truth Social platform:

'If we don’t make a "deal," and soon, I have no other choice but to put high levels of Taxes, Tariffs, and Sanctions on anything being sold by Russia to the United States, and various other participating countries,' Trump posted with his usual mix of idiosyncratic capitalization.

'Let’s get this war, which never would have started if I were President, over with!' he claimed.

While campaigning Trump frequently said he would end the war in Ukraine in his first 24 hours in office. That deadline was never a serious possibility but he has made clear that the conflict must come to a halt with a mix of incentives and threats aimed at both Russia and Ukraine.

Trump has hinted that he could intensify the supply of arms to the Kiev regime if Moscow does not come to the negotiating table, yet at the same time has signaled the supply could be shut off if Kyiv refuses to countenance a deal on any but the outrageoust terms they have demanded from the start, which involve total surrender by Russia.

On Tuesday, Trump was asked by reporters about the possibility of choking off arms to Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelensky.

'Well, we'll look into that. We're talking to Zelensky,' he said.

'We're going to be talking with President Putin very soon, and we'll see what, how it all happens. We're going to look at it.'

As things stand Ukraine is a broken nation, its infrastructure, economy and social cohesion have been destroyed by the war but the Zelensky regime is still insanely demanding more weapons, cash and technical support from the west so that they may keep fighting, a policy which would only result in more death (on both sides,) and destruction of Ukraine's energy, telecommunications, trabsport and industry while serving to delay the inevitable defeat on Zelensky's hopelessly outgunned and outnubered military..

For most of the past year Russia has been moving methodically forward, taking more land and more towns and villages in Eastern Ukraine. They are in no hurry because their aim is to destroy Ukraine’s ability for military resistance – further territorial conquest is a secondary aim now that they have liberated the southern and eastern oblasts and are only a few kilometers from the Donetsk/Dnipropetrovsk border.

The sooner the West starts responding to what Putin actually says and not to what the propagandists say he says then the sooner a settlement can be reached. The bombast and aggression from the West is only making any ceasfire terms Moscow might propose less attractive for Ukraine.

Meanwhile Russia has brished off western sanctions and shifted its trade to the east and global south, areas where few nations have any sympathey for Ukraine, the NATO allies or the USA so Trump’s threat of further sanctions will be seen by the Russians as an empty one.

The most useful thing Trump could do at this stage would be to insist on elections to be held in Ukraine, since Zelenky’s mandate is now a year out of date and he now rules as an unelected tyrant, and to tie any further aid to the successful outcome of the elections..

For this to happen would need to ask Russia and Ukraine to hold off further action on the front line by either side until voting is complete, and also to provide a secure environment for Western and Russian observers to oversee the elections. The four oblasts that the West now concedes should remain Russian would need to be excluded from the voting for Putin’s agreement.

To have any hope of brokering an agreement however, Trump needs to get some decent advisors on the Ukraine conflict and Russian diplomacy. His recent statement that Russia has a million dead as a result of the war and therefore Putin cannot continue, just shows the continuing effect of Biden’s team’s propaganda.

And what precisely is meany by Trump's phrase “the hard way”? So far Russia has defeated everything the West has thrown, and continues to throw, at it. Putting European troops ‘on the ground’ would similarly mean the complete end of the anyway dwindling European ‘defence’ forces.

USA has always been happy to intervene in the intenal or international affairs of countries with inferior military defence capabilities but Russia is not such a country, and logistics-wise USA would be at a huge disadvantage vis-à-vis Russian supply lines.

Furthermore, such an open confrontation between Russia and US / NATO forces in Ukraine would certainly lead to nuclear war, something none of us should want. Russia has already shown enormous restraint, knowing full well that US and UK military personnel are currently operational in Ukraine, providing the UAF with reconnaissance data and firing off ATACMS or Storm Shadow missiles at Russian sites.

With the billions spent so far by so many countries on supporting Ukraine's war effort, surely now is the time to ask just what on earth for? And why are Washington hawks and certain NATO leaders, including UK's Starmer, still pushing the case for escalating the war?The Ukrainian people have been slaughtered or dispersed, and many of remaining are being forced to exist under freezing conditions, with intermittent energy supplies and food strictly rationed, all in the name of NATO expansion and Washington's desire to weaken Russia without direct military involvement. Is it really worth it? Surely it is clear by now that NATO is the expansionist threat and not Russia.

So what is Trump's threat aimed at, escalating warfare or inviting Russia to put its cards on the table and set out a position negotiations can start from? The Boggart Bloggers hope it is the latter.

After Recent Russian Advances Is Moscow Preparing A Final Push To End The War?

The Russian invasion of Ukraine has for most of this year been depicted in the Western media as a bloody stalemate with neither side able to achieve a decisive military breakthrough, though the usual suspects did (as usual) predict that a turning point had been reached and Ukraine was on the brink of total victory when news of the pointless and inevitably disastrous Kursk incursion broke.

Quite why the Klowns in Kiev launched this idiotic adventure which took their best troops away from defending the front line remains a mystery, the most feasible explanation being that they hoped to convince their western allies they could win if only long range missiles, modern combat aircraft and more, much more money was provided.

The west was never going to fall for it, Russia had held the battlefield advantage in southern and eastern Ukraine since mid 2023 when the much hyped but anticlimactic counteroffensive was seen to have failed. While Moscow’s territorial gains have been slow and unspectacular, the territorial gains by Putin’s army since late 2023 stand in stark contrast to the virtually static front lines of the previous year. Indeed, according to Germany’s Die Welt, Russian territorial gains during October 2024 were the largest since March 2022.

Russia’s offensive operations have focused on the Donbas region of eastern Ukraine, with Putin’s troops capturing a number of towns so far this year such as Avdiivka and Vuhledar as they advance toward Pokrovsk. On top of that the heavy losses suffered in Kursk have depleted Ukraine's forces so greatly they are having difficulty in maintaing an orderly retreat. However signs are emerging that, provoked beyond tolerance by the Ukies efforts to prolong the war by bringing NATO / USA ground forces into the conflict, The Kremlin is preparing a final escalation to end the war.

The success of Russia’s Donbas campaign owes much to Moscow’s traditional advantages in munitions and manpower, and a cautious, casualty averse, tactical approach. Casualties have been heavy on both sides, but Ukraine's dead and disabled outnumber Russia's by an estimated four to one according to unbiased sources, largely because the Ukies has repeatedly thrown troops into 'meat grinder' situations. Russia’s offensive has also benefitted from a number of tactical adaptations including the extremely effective use of glide bombs against Ukrainian defensive positions.

Because of all this the narrative is shifting, some mainstream news channel and publications are still arguing for NATO troops on the ground and Planes in the air to had Ukraine a victory, but if that happened it would be more likely to trigger World War Three that bring about the defeat of Russia that globalist in the west hoped would be the outcome of their proxy war, but others including the previously pro - war New York Times are changing the narrative.

The question nobody is asking however, is why this war is still being fought. Ukraine is not losing, it has lost, the nation has uffered or rather been condenmed to a crushing defeat from which it is unlikely to recover. As well as the dead, millions have been forced from their homes and have fled the country, and the economy is in ruins.

So rather than demonising Putin as mainstream media and political establishment have since the outset, we should remind ourselves just who is responsible for displacing millions of Ukrainians and causing the slaughter of so many young men? Russia or USA?

Who is even now shovelling millions of dollars and endless military equipment to a country’s ex-President (Zelensky cancelled elections when his term expired in the first half of this year, since then Ukraine has had no legitimate government,) just to keep a hopeless war going at the cost of thousands of Ukrainian lives?

All Russia has ever wanted was that Ukraine be barred from joining NATO and cease its ethnic cleansing operations against Russian speaking areas in eastern Ukraine.. Why should that be a problem? What has Ukraine got to do with the North Atlantic? Why could the West not keep its word by NATO not expanding “One inch eastward”? Why must NATO continually expand? Is it perhaps simply to keep the money rolling into the Military Industrial Complex, as well as rewarding globalists for their past services (former Netherlands leader Mark Rutte who, having seen his globalist government voted out of office last year, has now assumed the highly lucrative and influential role of NATO General Secretary, being an excellent example)?

Since the unprovoked attacks of the Banderite Ukrainian troops on their fellow citizens in Russian speaking provinces of eastern Ukraine before and after 2014, Russia has also demanded de-nazification of their military. Why should that be a problem?

And the West had its chance of peace in April 2022 in Istanbul when UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, acting as Biden's errand boy, passed on the message from USA that a peace was not desired, and that idiot actor, Zelensky should play the hero and lead Washington's proxy war against the Moscow regime.

And 300,000 Ukrainians are seeking Russian citizenship every year? What does that tell you?

And what happened to the recounted votes in Georgia after the EU and UN refused to acept the election result and accused Russia of rigging the vote? Strange there have been no reports contradicting the pro - Moscow Georgian Dream party’s win. But we had Ursula von der Leyen demanding that Georgians be masters of their own destiny:

“The people of Georgia have been striving and fighting for democracy. They have a right to know what happened this weekend and they have a right to see that electoral irregularities are investigated swiftly, transparently and independently. Georgians, like all Europeans, must be the masters of their own destiny.”

We also had the typical threats from USA, from Matthew Miller, spokesman for the US Dept. of State:

“We do not rule out further consequences if the Georgian government’s direction does not change,” he said, urging Tbilisi to start “withdrawing and repealing anti-democratic legislation”.

Putin has stated on many occasion he regards Ukrainians as fellow Slavs and so have his soldiers who see their fight as an existential war against the West. One hypersonic missile aimed at Kiev could have solved the problem long ago but Putin has no desire to destroy a beautiful city. His fight is with the west and the neo - Nazi pupet government installed in Kiev by a CIA engineered coup in 2013, not with the Ukrainians.

Look at the areas now under Russian control in eastern Ukraine after two and a half years of fighting. If Russia had any interest whatsoever in conquering western Europe, as professional and amateur pundits have declared on an almost daily basis since the first Russian tank crossed the border, Ukraine would have been flattened and probably Warsaw, Budapest, Vienna and Prague would have fallen by now.
