'Lord' Michael Gove, a former member of Conservative govenments under David Cameron, Theresa May and Boris 'Bunter' Johnson has questioned claims made during the Covid-19 Whitewash Inquiry that up to 23,000 lives could have been saved if Britain had entered lockdown a week earlier.
Baroness
Hallett, the inquiry chairman, said if “stringent restrictions” had
been put in place before March 16 2020 there might have been no need for
a lockdown. This was one of the points in the inquiry, which cost us long suffering taxpayer £200million,) which clearly showed the whole thing was rigged as it is now well known that masking, social distancing and self isolation and lockdowns did far more harm than good, that there were very few deaths in which COVID was the sole or primary cause and that the hgh level of excess deaths we are now seeing did not kick in until after the roll out of the clotshot non- vaccines.
The Hallett report also said up to 23,000 lives could have been saved if the first lockdown had been imposed a week earlier. This ludicrous figure was thrown up by mathematical modelling and published in a a research paper by Prof Neil Ferguson, the discredited former government scientist. The paper, published in 2021, suggested that the first wave death toll could have been cut from 48,600 to 25,600. It does not however distinguish between those who died OF Covid and those who died WITH Covid i.e. people who tested positive either within 28 days prior to their death of other causes or who tested positive posthumously.
Ferguson's modelling faced heavy criticism during the pandemic for failing to take
into account measures already in place to limit spread, and avoid underestimating the health risks of lockdown itself.
Speaking on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, Lord Gove, who was involved
in the UK’s pandemic response in 2020 questioned the 23,000 lives claim.
The problem, or rather one of the many problems with Neil Ferguson's modelling is that it conflates case
fatality rates with infection fatality rates thus massively over
estimating potential death rates. The case fatality rate in the case of COVID refers to the number of positive tests divided by the number of deaths while the infection to fatality rate refers to the number of confirmed infections divided by the number of deaths. As the method of trsting unsed during the forst lockdown was known to give up to 80% false positives in its results, obviously the modelling software coded by Ferguson, who is not an Information Technology professional but a bumbling amateur, vastly overestimated that likely number of deaths. The whole thing has been a scam as various court cases and lawsuits are now showing. Unfortunately very few understand the statistics and how easily thay can be abused to manipulate opinion..
Professor Carl Heneghan, Researcher, editor, Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine, University of Oxford, and a prominent critic of the government's COVID response has long emphasised the difference but those in power simply couldn't, or chose not to understand, because Ferguson was giving them the result thay suited their agenda as he has in health crises many times before, with equally disastrous results. They did not care about the effects of lockdows on society, particularly the very young, jut as later theydid not care when warned of the horrific side effects of the associeted with mRNA vaccines in tests prior to the pandemic.

kill us all"-man was exposed as a charlatan long before the Covid debacle.
How anyone could have possibly listened to anything this serial rule
breaker and shagger ever said is beyond comprehension. During the first lockdown, imposed on his advice, Ferguson was caught breatking his own restrictions to drive from London to Oxford for a quick bunk - up with his married lover. The man is totally unreliable.
Everyone involved in the
Government's handling of stay at home clampdowns should be ashamed of
themselves. Though already retired at the time myself I know people whose business lost millions of pounds, and employees who lost good careers because of this nonsense. This absurd review is just the latest
chapter in a novel of stupidity.
To emphasise the extent to which this grossly expensive exercise was rigged to exonerate the incompetence and malfeasance of everybody involved, evidence from Professor Heneghan, like that of many other competent and respected scientists including Norman Fenton and Angus Dalgliesh, was treated by the inquiring panel with absolute contempt and they were publicly insulted in front of the inquiry members and indeed anyone
watching on TV.
The few genuine scientists with experience in epidemiology, and between them an immense body of work based on well researched evidence, not fictitious evidence from models created by arrogant amateurs who because they have a degree in physics or mathematics think they are more qualified than IT professionals to program computers, were constantly interrupted whilst trying to explain their views and how they had arrived at those conclusions.
The
entire inquiry has been a loaded fiasco and can largely be disregarded.
Unfortunately we cannot reclaim the absurd millions of pounds spent to
date, nor will there be any consequences for those decision takers in
power in 2020/1.

The ‘problem’ with a ‘comprehensive’ inquiry is that it could open a ‘very’ large can of worms. It will be fascinating to see the terms, or remit, I rather suspect there will be anger, disappointment and relief all around and I suspect ‘several’ pertinent avenues will be left unexplored, or worse, quashed.
I distinctly remember Nicky Campbell, on 5 Live, when the original (?) Rotherham convictions were handed down, firmly stating it had nothing to do with race or religion, (that ‘denial’ is as much a crime as any perpetrated by councillors, social works, police, or indeed anyone who closed their eyes to what was happening).
It has EVERYTHING to do with religion (or race), and EVERYBODY knows it. If an inquiry has any ‘balls’ it will FULLY look into aspects of certain ‘NEW’ cultures that allow them to consider other ‘communities’ in much the same way as the National Socialist German Worker's Prty considered Jewish people, or gypsies, or homosexuals, or communists, or indeed ANYONE who didn’t fit comfortably into the confines of their snug little box.
It’s a great big HUGE elephant in the room, that is rapidly growing, and a problem that will need to be addressed one way or another. Better it is delt with honestly and openly now rather than be left to mobs of working class lads and dads, fed up with lies and obfuscation, to end it in blood on the streets?
