English-language European news outlets, and state funded news channels such as France 24, Deutsche Welle, Politico Europe, along with progressive left operatiobs center-left publications like Le Monde and The Guardian, cater to an urban, university-educated, globally minded audience and thus reflect a narrow slice of society, underrepresenting conservative and rural perspectives.
As a result, English-speaking audiences relying on European media’s English editions get an incomplete picture, skewed toward liberal narratives and missing the conservative and nationalist currents driving major shifts in the political landscape.
