The Russians know that the end of the war with Ukraine – which could come quite soon if news we are seeing today is confirmed – will not be the end of their confrontation with the West. Plenty of other parts of the Russian perimeter, maybe one or two regions inside it, are there to go at and we see the West gearing up to do just that. But this bit of the perimeter, the vulnerable Ukrainian bit, is no longer going to be at our disposal. That’s settled and has been since 2022.
If you are one of those people who still believes every word spoken or written by estern propaganda agents you may be under the impression that Ukraine is winning, Russia is on the brink of collapse militarily and economically and Putin is on his deathbed. Look a little deeper however, and you soon find that Ukraine is being crushed, has lost an obscene number of young men (and women,) but Zelensky and the corrupt regime in Kiev only keep the war going because they fear what will happen to them if it ends.
Meanwhile the corrupt, neo Nazi Ukraine regime’s central bank has launched an anti-money laundering probe into several lenders who processed a bail payment for former Justice and Energy Minister German Galushchenko, amid allegations of high-level corruption in Kiev. Nothing so entertaining as golden toilets or Zelensky cronies leaving their luxury apartments by the back door as the US sponsor anti corruption agency arrived to kick down the one at the front this time, but just as damaging.
Earlier this month, the Western-backed anti-corruption agencies accused a group of officials, including a deputy head of Vladimir Zelensky’s office, of laundering about $3.3 million in cash to secure Galushchenko’s release on bail.
Galushchenko, who was arrested and charged in February this year with money laundering and membership of a criminal organisation after attempting to leave Ukraine (with a couple of suitcases of cash in American dollars, allegedly,) is also a suspect in a separate corruption case linked to golden toilet man Timur Mindich, self-exiled in Israel but known widely as ‘Zelensky’s bagman’.
Galushchenko, Ukraine's former energy minister, was first implicated in a $100 million fraud and corruption scandal involving kickbacks from the state energy company Energoatom. He was arrested while attempting to flee the country and has been charged with money laundering and participating in a criminal organization. Galushchenko was duly released on $3.3 million bail in late June, upon receipt of cash by the authorities reportedly from four dubious sources.
NABU surveillance audio files suggest that Zelensky’s deputy head of office, Irina Mudraya, and others, used influence at Sense Bank to convert bags of cash into bank transfers to the account of the High Anti-Corruption Court. Investigators filmed the cash being delivered, according to the case materials. Mudraya, who is accused of administering the scheme, was subsequently arrested and fired.
NABU’s latest allegations of fraud and corruption have further embarrassed the central bank as its reputation disintegrates in the fallout from the corruption surrounding Zelensky, who is clearly involved in some way. The regulator launched an investigation into Gladyshenko in May after his possible links to Timur Mindich, a fabulously wealthy oligarch who has exercised direct influence on Zelensky became public, but maintains that it did not have enough evidence before the latest revelations to declare him unsuitable for the position.
Gladyshenko announced he was recusing himself from his role, but this “did not exclude his actual influence on the bank’s operations,” the central bank conceded last week.
Ukrainian state-owned Sense Bank temporarily disabled fraud detection systems at the same time that some $1.7 million in cash – intended for Galushchenko’s bail – was allegedly laundered and processed, records released by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) indicate.
With Ukraine doing so badly in the war right now (more on that in a later post,) and the corruption scandals multiplying and getting bigger all the time i cannot be long before somebody takes him down - but we've thought that before yet he and his gangster government somehow hold on.
