Ukraine's Strategy For Defeating Russia Looks Increasingly Like National Suicide

Iuliia Mendel, press secretary to Ukraine's putative leader President Zelensky from 2019 to 2021, has written an article for The Spectator, titled “Zelensky’s Strategy Is National Suicide.” Her argument makes a compelling case that Ukraine is not simply losing its war with Russia but is being so thoroughly wrecked in the process that it is effectively committing national suicide.

So why has The Poisonous Pixie With The Piano Playing Penis escalated the war and derailed negotiations every time Donal Trump, Turkey's President Erdogan or anyone else put forward a peace initiative?

Mendel repeated her argument the day after her article was published, September 16, in a livestreamed address to the European Parliament. She had intended to deliver the speech in person but was denied entry to the Parliament building and therefore had to appear virtually and the EU has been happy to play the part of Zelensky's catamite throughout this conflict, so long as they do not have to commit to direct military involvement. Mendel attributes the attempt to silence her to the sanctions President Zelensky had imposed on her three days earlier, although the European Parliament has not said why she was barred. Another possible reason is she has debunked the E/U / Kiev propaganda which claims Ukraine is winning.

Mendel’s article and speech have generated substantial controversy, which is hardly surprising given the severity of her indictment and the fact that she served as the president’s press secretary. This blog, which has tried to present an objective view of Zelensky and the corrupt Banderite regime installed in Kiev after a US / EU engineered coup.

The most heavily emphasised problem in the article is demographics. Mendel notes that Ukraine's population has fallen dramatically since independence in 1991. She cites estimates of the current population ranging from roughly 20 to 30 millions, compared with approximately 52 million at independence.

Another aspect of this demographic crisis is Ukraine's low fertility rate and the imbalance between births and deaths. These trends could make demographic recovery particularly difficult because the country has simultaneously experienced population loss, ageing and wartime casualties.

Casualty figures remain particularly disputed. Estimates attributed to Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk differ widely from figures publicly given by Zelensky.

Russian attacks have damaged Ukraine's energy infrastructure, transportation system and industrial capacity. The Ukraine government is increasingly dependent on Western financial assistance to sustain both its government and wartime economy as well as a continuous supply of arms and ammunition from the west to maintain its ability to continue the fight.

The episode also focuses on Ukraine's debt burden and the difficulty of continuing to finance the country indefinitely through foreign assistance. Western financial support is increasingly curtailed as economic effects of the war hit European economies while in the USA, Trump appears to have run out of patience after being messed about by Zelensky for four years. In her articl Mendel emphasizes the growing cost of maintaining the war.

Wartime conditions have weakened democratic institutions, restricted political rights and contributed to corruption. History demonstrates that wartime governments commonly impose extraordinary restrictions, while contending that Ukraine's prolonged conflict makes institutional recovery increasingly difficult. Even if assistance from NATO were to secure victory over Russia for Ukraine (which would not be a certainty in the unlikely event of NATO supplying combat personnel as well as hardware and consumables, Ukraine is broken as a nation and the public mood is swinging against Zelensky, Russia occupies 20% of its territory and as for the future, it is hard to see anything other than the breakup of the country.

Ukraine's situation is in stark contrast with Russia's. Russia has absorbed territory and population during the war and its military has become more capable through wartime experience. While acknowledging that Russia has also suffered casualties and economic costs, the economy is still functioning and the people are not facing power blackouts, shortages of food and general deprivation.

Mendel concludes by placing responsibility beyond Kyiv, pointing out that Western governments and particularly the EU also bear responsibility for encouraging Ukraine to continue fighting while Ukrainians bear the direct human and economic costs of the conflict.

The central premise is therefore not simply that Ukraine must concede territory or suffer a military defeat. Continued warfare can only leave Ukraine facing simultaneous demographic, economic, territorial, political and security problems. It's a "national suicide" driven by the egos of delusional neo - Nazis whose greed for cash, penchant for sitting on golden toilets and irrational hatred of all things Russian leads to their happily sacrificing Ukraine's future, rather than fulfilling a government's primary duty to serve the best interests of the people.
