The secret of freedom lies in educating people, whereas the secret of tyranny is in keeping them ignorant. - Maximilien Robespierre.

Trump's Latest Actions Trigger 'Threat To Democracy' Warnings From His Undemocratic Opponents.

Since Donald Trump 'triggered' hypersensitive liberals and progressives (aka communist seditionists,) by activating the California National Guard against the protest of the governor, and then bringing in US Marines – both of which his critics argue are unconstitutional – is certainly provocative and possibly, in part at least, a theatrical stunt by the president to show who is in charge fotr the benefit of Governors in Democrat run states who think they can derail the Trump presidency. The street protests in Los Angeles were the result of his ordering a crackdown on illegal immigrants to the state, where for decades a far left state government has been actively encouraging illegal immigration.. You could be forgiven for thinking he deliberately provoked the alleged “rebellion” in order to humiliate California leaders.

It is worth noting that The Appeals Court ruled today that Trumps use of the California National Guard was legal, which is a bit inconvenient for those who would brand him a tyrannical dictator. In fact his action against illegal immigrats in California was a response to the state government's refusing to enforce federal law, and encouraging lawless among minority communities.

Added to that, from the moment Trump announced his intention to run again for president, the Democrat Nomination Committee mobilised prosecutors, judges, the left media et al in a lawfare campaign against him. That is where the real threat to democracy  in the USA resides. Fortunately the American public saw through it.

Trump is currently attacking California Democrat controlled state legislature on several fronts, shrewdly judging that the extremist Governor Gavin Newsom among all Democrat politocians was most likely to react unreasonably. Newsom duly obliged by orchestrating the pro - immigration riots that disrupted Los Angeles and other cities a couple of weeks ago. He is stripping the state of its powers under the Clean Power Act to impose tougher pollution rules than federal levels. He has signed an order blocking California’s plan to phase out petrol cars by 2035, and another stopping it capping nitrogen oxide emissions. He now is threatening to withhold federal disaster aid for wildfires.

Trump, in typical style called Newsom  “Governor Newscum” and added : “You know, hatred is never a good thing in politics. When you don’t like somebody, you don’t respect somebody, it’s harder for that person to get money if you’re on top.”

The end of American democracy comes not when we allow a Donald Trump to get away with process violations, but when we allow anyone to do so.

But the elites have been more than happy to live with that sort of thing, as long as it was Democrats doing it. As long as the ship was going to the way they wanted it to go.

Donald Trump has done some things that are not acceptable. The California Guard thing is not one of them, but others are. But if you call him out on those things, and ignore Democrats when they do so, then you are not aprincipled son of liberty, you are a partisan and a hack.

People who claim Trump's efforts to return the USA to the rule of law, which several of his predecessors have actvely sought to dismantle by politicising the judiciary, police and military, are engaging in overdramatization to the point of paranoia.

First, asa mentioned above, an appeals court has ruled that the Federal Executive retains the right to use the National Guard to maintain order based on the fact that the LA violence sought to disrupt immigration officials from executing their statutory obligation to detain and deport those illegally in the US. Immigration is the purview of the Federal government, and California was actually obstructing the enforcement of the law.

Secondly, Progressives and those in a fever of Trump Derangement Syndrome should look far more carefully at Britain and the Grooming scandal, as well as efforts to stifle citizen dissent by prosecuting people who express opinions the political class doesn't like. Totally innocent people have been subjected to Gestapo-like raids and put in jail after summary trials for trying to discuss in public forums the former and for highligting the anti - Semitism of pro Hamas demonstrators protesting against Israel's actions in Gaza.

Finally, the Net Zero thing is one grand scam. A close examination of the science suggests there are many questions about the impact of man made greenhouse emissions on the climate. Meanwhile, the British government has adopted suicidal policies that hurt the economy and citizens without any democratic consultation and under the leadership of a crazed 'hair on fire' Energy Minister. People face prosection for pointing out these unwelcome truths too.

Meanwhile, in sync with the UK, California haa adopted radical laws on emissions that negatively impact not only on itself, but on other U.S. states. This makes it a Federal issue. Finally,Demented Democrat President Biden's decision to allow 14 million people to walk into the US without identity, security or health checks, was the true blow to democracy and the rule of law. I am no MAGA fan, but on the issue of immigration and Climate Change, Trump is is cleaning up the mess created by his predecessor and the Governonr of California, which is to enforce the law.

Another point that goes largely unremarked, despite the fact that any comment or statement that falls short of condemning Trump as a madman, tyrant, fascist and crook is immediately branded 'far right'  but it is Trump that has moved the Republican Party left in many ways.

The most obvious example are the tariffs. It wasn't too long ago that economic protectionism and high tariffs were the preference of the political left and trade unions in order to protect the local workforce and avoid them being undercut by cheaper labour in the global market.

But another area where Trump's Republican Party is in stark contrast to Reagan's is the rejection of state rights. The Republican Party used to stand for taking control from the federal government and placing it as local as possible. I happen to agree that Newsome is a terrible governor and successive Democrat governors have had a devastating impact on California, but surely a Republican President should defend the right of Californians to elect terrible leaders if that is their choice.

We are not witnessing the death of democracy in America. We're witnessing a hissy fit by Newsom a privileged member of the liberal elite who cannot accept that Trump won the presidency by defeating a truly hopeless candidate after four years of rule by a demented geriatric, and is unhinged by the end of the liberal consensus.

NATO Rhetoric About Russian Threat is 'Absurd'
The reasons being given for the latest NATO military buildup in Eastern Europe, the idea that the Russian 'Russian threat' to Eastern Europe grows every day is "simply absurd," according to former US diplomat and Senate policy advisor Jim Jatras. Effectively, Jatras says, the buildup is an attempt by the US to keep Germany and France on board with Washington's world domination agenda and ...

The Demise Of Dollar Hegemony: Russia Breaks Wall Streets's Oil-Price Monopoly
Significant moves in the global chess game have just rendered the huffing and puffing of warmonger Obama meaningless and will break Wall Street's monopoly in controlling oil markets. The move is part of Vladimir Putin's long-term strategy of decoupling Russia’s economy and especially its very significant export of oil, from the US dollar, in effect ...

Naked Bankers Go For Gold
... That gold sale in 2013 was a naked short. The seller had no gold to sell. COMEX reported having gold only equal to about half of the short sale in its vaults, and not all of that was available for delivery (quite a lot of it belonged to the german government) In effect the naked shorting of gold could only work because really the right hand was selling to the left hand.

The Demise Of Dollar Hegemony: Russia Breaks Wall Streets's Oil-Price Monopoly In a move that went almost completely unreported in mainstream media, Russia has recently opened a market for the trading of physical and 'paper' oil (futures) in Moscow in Roubles. This is the most blatant challenge yet to the domination of the US dollar in world trade.

WMD in Mayfair
Recalling yesterday's Machiavelli Blog which commented on events surrounding the unfortunate death of the alleged former Russian agent Alexander Litvinenko, it seems the murder investigation has now found evidence of many caches (well OK, traces) of radio active toxins in various fashionable establishments in London's West End frequented by former Russian intelligence agents.

China launches global yuan payment system
China’s Central Bank has started a global payment system which provides cross-border transactions in yuan. The China International Payment System (CIPS) intends to internationalize the yuan and challenge the US dollar's dominance.

Refugee Crisis Or Existential Battle With USA for Europe
It has been clear for some years now that the USA, backed by its main NATO and EU military allies the UK and France (the FUKUS axis has been trying to provoke Russian into firing the shot that will be heard around the world and recognised as the startiung signal for World War Three.
Nothing is ever as it seems to be however, and views from middle east and far eastern journals suggest the USA is also working at destabilizing EU nations in order to force their support in its wars.

EU and US talk of war with Russia
The European People’s Party (EPP) is the largest political group in the European Parliament, and they are unerringly supportive of America's efforts to start a war with Russia. “The time of talk and persuasion with Russia is over," MEP and Vice-President of the EPP told a meeting on Tuesday, 21 April, “Now it’s time for a tough policy, and concentration on defence and security ...”

The Mediterranean Boat People Crisis - How Does Europe Deal With The Mediterranean Migrant Crisis
The numbers of migrants trying to cross from the Libya on the coast of north Africa to one of the EU's southern nations is increasing. Europe's impoverished southern nations can't cope. And in the better off nations of northern Europe immigration is a toxic issue which is fuelling the rise of anti EU parties from France to Finnland in the north and Hungary in the east. What can be done?
