Syria: We Were Afraid This Might Happen

Extremist groups in revenge killing, sectarian genocide in HTS-controlled Syria

Who Are Syria's Moderate Rebels? Good Question.

Heavily armed militias representing various sectarian, political and tribal groups are on the rampage across Syria carrying out executions of civilians and soldiers, raping and looting amid the chaos following the fall of Syrian president Bashar al-Assad's government.

Al Mayadeen reports on 10 December that a video going viral on social media shows armed militants from USA and NATO backed Hayat Tahrir al-Sham - HTS (the good guys according to western media and military intellligence agencies ), the Al-Qaeda offshoot that took control of Damascus on Saturday, were seen carrying out summary executions of unarmed men in the village of Al-Rabia in the countryside of Latakia.

The militants referred to the men as ‘Shabiha’, a derogatory term long used to describe pro-government Syrian soldiers and civilians.

HTS military operations administration reported ongoing clashes in Al-Rabia, including the encirclement of a group of officers inside a fortified farm in the village, Al Mayadeen stated.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported on Tuesday that, according to its sources, the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) carried out executions and assaulted properties of nearly 30,000 Kurdish families in Manbij City. Other sorces have also reported Turkish military operations targeting Kurdish civilians

In the Nawaha and Al-Asadiya neighborhoods, Turkish backed SNA militants burned houses of civilians, stole property, and executed at least three people, including a woman, SOHR added.

On Monday, ISIS militants killed 54 Syrian army soldiers who were fleeing an attack by the terror group in the central province of Homs.

ISIS militants captured “personnel fleeing military service in the desert ... during the collapse of the regime” of president Bashar al-Assad and "executed 54" of them in the Sukhna area in the Homs desert, SOHR stated.

Syrian sources reported the assassination on Tuesday of Sheikh Tawfiq al-Bouti by unknown attackers.

Middle East Eye reports The US government is scrambling to contain a Turkish-backed offensive targeting the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in Syria following the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime.

Washington was reportedly caught off guard by the rapid overthrow of Assad by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS)-aligned forces, which occurred in just 11 days. Reports suggest that US officials had been attempting to negotiate a deal with Assad that would have normalized his position in exchange for severing ties with Hezbollah and Iran. Other reports have suggested Russian agents advised Assad to flee, having warned him that he could not win the fourteen year old civil war in his country.

The US has expressed concern over Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) operations targeting the SDF, a US partner force.

These operations have resulted in the seizure of areas including Tal Rifaat and Manbij, which had been under SDF control earlier this month. By securing Tal Rifaat and Manbij, Turkey has solidified its control over key areas west of the Euphrates, creating a buffer zone along its borders

Following the capture of Manbij, the SNA crossed the Euphrates River and seized the Tomb of Suleyman Shah, a site of significant historical and cultural importance linked to the Ottoman Empire. The move triggered an outrcy from the SDF, raising concerns that the front would move towards the heavily populated city of Kobane.

Turkey has long regarded the SDF as an affiliate of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), despite its rebranding and its partnership with the US in the fight against the Islamic State in Syria (ISIS).

Islamic State (also known as IS, ISIS, ISIL, or its Arabic acronym Da’esh) is a transnational jihadist group that gained global prominence in 2014, when it conquered large swathes of territory in Syria and Iraq and proclaimed a caliphate.

After protracted fighting with Syrian rebel groups and foreign forces, including the U.S., IS was defeated territorially in 2019, though the group is still active with its main strength concentrated in the sparsely populated east of the country.

The power vacuum in Syria following the fall of Assad’s regime is viewed by some observers as an opportunity for ISIS to reassert itself. The U.S. has carried out dozens of airstrikes at ISIS targets in Syria in recent days but like HTS, ISIS are well organised and well armed with weapons supplied by the US and NATO to Ukraine and sold on to middle eastern terrorist groups by members of Zelenskyyyy's gangster regime.

Minority Report on Douma attack exposes ‘compromised reporting & analysis’ by OPCW – MIT professor
The OPCW failed to include evidence on the Douma in its final report, so the resulting document is inherently compromised, an MIT professor said. The Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) claimed that gas was dropped from the sky on the Damascus suburb. It did not directly blame on the Syrian government, however.

Germany Rejects Yazidi Asylum Seekers Fleeing Persecution By Islamic Extremists
The EU’s largest nation and most powerful economy, which righteously lecturs other EU member states on the need to take refugees and asylum seekers, is taking in fewer Yazidi refugees, according to a German newspaper report. The religious minority was terrorized by the “Islamic State” during the militant group’s campaign in Iraq and Syria and hundreds, possibly thousands of Yazidi women were raped and used as sex slaves by IsIS terrorists.

Have They Learned Nothing From Iraq?
After the debacles of Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya, not to mention the unfinished business in Yemen, one might hope the political establishments and the mainstream media might have learned something about military interventions to effect regime change in third world nations which are culturally millions of light years away from the liberal democracies.

Germany, Italy Refuse To Join Deep State's Syria Regime Change Coalition
As madness grips most members of NATO, with our own British Prime Minister Theresa May trying to out - Trump Trump in her displays of gung ho egomania, two nations at least are taking a more rational view. Italy and Germany have said they will not be involved in, or even support airstrikes on Syria. Understandable, especially in the case of Germany which is right in the firing line if Putin decides to take out a few US East Coast townships ...

Trump Threatens Putin, Assad Over Alleged Syrian "Chemical Attack"; Russia Warns Of "Grave" Response If US Launches Strike

It's looks like deja vu all over again. Remember when the US Defence Secretary admitted the Syrian "Rebels" funded and armed by the USA have used chemical weapons against government forces in Syria?
Or when earlier this year, now former Secretary of State Tillerson blamed Russia for an Alleged Syrian chemical attack despite admitting he doesn't know who actually did it? Or when the US finally admitted there was "no evidence" Assad used sarin gas? Or just last week, when Trump said that the US is finally pulling out of Syria as a result of the defeat of ISIS (much to the Pantagon's fury and open-ended timetable for extracting Syrian resources)?

Well, maybe you do, but the neocons back in charge of US war preparations foreign policy - now that war hawk John Bolton is Trump's National Security Advisor - are so stuck with the age-old narrative that Assad is so desperate to be bombed at any cost he used illegal weapons on his own people even when his troops have defeated ISIS, the US backed regime change operation and are now mopping up the last pockets of resistasnce.

Pro-war trolls resort to smears as their ‘rebels' lose miserably in Syria
Bureaucrats, Politicians and media talking heads who have consistently supported military intervention in Syria, and championed Obama's stated aim, that the priority was not to defeat ISIS terrorists but to remove the Assad rgime have gone apeshit following the collapse of the rebels final strongholds. The war loving 'liberals' are throwing everything they have at the level headed people who counselled against intervention ...

Reports Of USA Preparing Military Attack On Syria To Depose Assad.
Last April the US fired 59 Tomahawk missiles on Syria, in ostensibly in retaliation for an alleged chemical attack by the Assad regime on its own people. It was later confirmed by United Nations officials in Syria that there was no evidence to suggest the Assad regime was responsible, in fact such evidence as existed pointed to terrorist groups funded, armed and trained by the USA were responsible.

OPCW Investigators - "No Evidence" Of Chemical Weapons At Syrian Facilities Bombed By US
The independent inspectors commissioned by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) will probably take several months to publish their final report on the alleged gas attack in Douma (an attack for which journalists and other independent parties have failed to find evidence),

Europe Rejects Obama Doctrine - US Exceptionalism Is Not Acceptable

With a backlash against his efforts to bully Britons into voting to remain in the EU pushing the leave campaign into a narrow lead in opinion polls Obama's vistit to Europe last week could hardly be described as a success. And now he has been told a foreign policy based on 'American Exceptionalism' is not acceptable and the USA must abide by the same international law as the rest of the world

Iran's Ayatollahs save SyriaPutin and
Now That Russia's Putin and Iran's Ayatollahs Have Neutralised ISIS in Syria the focus of terror shifts to Turkey, the NATO members that, with the fuill knowledge of the USA ans European powers has been helping ISIS in its bid to overthrow the Assad regime.

Russia's Surprise Withdrawal From Syria? "If We Don't Go Away, We Can't Come back Again.

There is no doubt that the withdrawal is not quite what it seems to be, but more likely a tactical move by the Russians. The Kremlin feels it has done enough to secure the regime of President Assad, the remnants of the Sunni Muslim Free Syrian Army are no longer capable of mounting a challenge and the Syrians, along with Shi'ite militias in Iraq and Kurdish irregulars, backed by Iranian Republic an Guard troops ought to be capable of dealing with ISIS

Propaganda War: US Officials Working to Keep Russia, Europe at Odds
Speaking to the US Senate Armed Services Committee this month, Breedlove said that " Russia and the Assad regime are deliberately weaponizing migration from Syria in an attempt to overwhelm European structures and break European resolve." These irrational remarks, and the mainstream media's ability to convey them with a straight face, are an indication of a broken system, experts suggest.

EU HoldsBack New Regulation For Fear Of Strengthening Brexit Case

The unelected leaders of the EU in Brussels are smothering discussion of new pan – European laws that would impact the United Kingdom and all other member states, increasing the amount of money they have to contribute to the EU budget and transferring yet more sovereignty to Brussels ...

Turkey Blames Kurds, Assad For Terrorist Attack, Vows Swift Response

Yesterday came the first terrorist attack on Turkish soil. As this blog predicted President Erdogan of Turkey is blaming the Kurds and President Assad of Syria for yesterday's bomb blast in the Turkish capital which killed and injured many people. It was predictable would the attack would be blamed on Assad and the Kurds, thus giving the nutter Erdogan an excuse to intensify his actions against Assad and the Kurds

War Is Good, The Obama Worshipping Guardian Says

Alas that all went down the pan in 2008 when the USA elected its first (and probably last) black president. Like American liberals, the hacks at The Guardian could not see past the colour of Obama’s skin and before Obama had even been sworn into office they were declaring him not just the greatest president ever but the greatest human being ever

Road To World War III: Turkey Shells Syria For Second Day As Saudi Warplanes Arrive

The geopolitical world was rocked yesterday when Turkey began shelling Syria’s second largest city, Aleppo, where the Syrian opposition has its back against the wall in the face of an aggressive advance by the forces of President Assad’s government and the Iranian Republican Guard supported, of course, by Russian airstrikes.
