Macron's Dodges Press Conference - Says Mind 'Too Complex To Answer Questions From French Journalists

While EU leaders and globalists such as Angela Merkel are still celebrating (somewhat prematurely) the and of the upsurge in nationalism, many French voters are already regretting that they allowed themselves to be railroaded into voting for an untried candidate with little political experience, and tainted by association with Hollande's failed administration in which he was for a short time finance minister.

Recently elected French President Emmanuel Macron has cancelled the traditional Bastille Day (July 14) president's press conference because, he claims, his thoughts are 'too complex' for media questions.

Macron, whose position was only consolidated on June 19 when his 'party' (mostly members of former President Hollande's discredited socialist party government) won a majority in the national assembly, has earned the wrath of French journalists and television reporters, after he declined to take part in the traditional question and answer session on Bastille Day because the format "doesn't lend itself" to his complex thoughts.

A source in the Elysee Palace told the French newspaper Le Monde that Macron does not "baulk" at talking to journalists, yet that is exactly what he has done. Macron is of course one of those elitists who believe globalism and the uncontrolled immigration of even more unskilled, illiterate economic migrants from areas where societies are dominated by fundamentalist Islam is what France needs to tackle rising unemployment and.

"We thought about what form the speech should take, and the President chose a more stately form," the source explained.

Since the 1970s, French leaders have usually held a news conference on Bastille Day, the anniversary of the storming of the Bastille by thousands of Parisians in 1789, an event which freed political prisoners and effectively ended the hegemony of the French aristocracy..

The explanation for the snub was greeted with disbelief by journalists in France.

"I don't understand," Le Monde's political commentator Olivier Faye tweeted ironically, while Vivien Vergnaud, editor of Le Journal du Dimanche called it "the best excuse of the year."

Writer and journalist Michel Taube, founder of the "Opinion Internationale" website, said Macron's reluctance to face journalists' questions is a sign that he has no intention of trying to explain his ideas and policies to ordinary French citizens.

"This only reinforces the general impression that has been highlighted by all observers: the new President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, is so absorbed in presidential duties that he has in some way forgotten that he is a person."

"I think that journalists, especially those of Le Monde, Le Figaro and others — and with them the citizens of France — are able to understand the complexity of the international situation and the world problems that President sees himself as too important to to talk about, but citizens – have the right to expect words from the head of state. Words, not just pictures," Taube said." Taube said.

"In 2017, a political leader is obliged to speak – simply, precisely, strongly – about the problems he has to face in the name of the French people."

Macron is showing exactly the kind of mindset one would expect from the high earning elitists of the financial world. It seems the French President's strategy is to distance himself from the media and the people and communicate only through photographs of himself and his elderly wife grinning inanely as they greet other world leaders.

"Oh look, citoyens of France, your President is a very important man, he shakes hands with Arab despots, African tyrants, Russian oligarchs and American billionaires with silly haircuts, but he has no time to talk to you."

To Those Web Sites That Complain About Ad Blockers - Two Words. The Second Is OFF!

Forbes Mag are pissed off with me. Although I only look at their site if I follow somebody else's link, whenever I do I get a teaser and this pithy little message about how monstrously unfair I am being to sites like their which depend on advertising revenue for income. OK, I understand that, and if I particularly want to look at an item I will whitelist the site (any site, not just Forbes), read the article, not click on any ads (not so much as a matter of principle as because everything advertised on the web is shite,) and then block them again.

Is this not hypocritical of you Boggart Blogger, you might well ask because this site runs a couple of ads. It could be considered so, although we have no ethical objection to internet advertising. The reason we block ads is so many of them are intrusive, violate privacy by collecting user data, and slow down older computers by employing CPU heavy scripts. And we don't object to people running ad blockers, if you don't want to see advertising, its your choice and we respect that. We can't guarantee ads on our pages don't violate your privacy but as the host, blogger, is owned by Google, your privacy is being violated already.

Now I read that those of us running ad blockers are involved in a protection racket (yeah, we are protecting our personal data)

He vowed to set up a round table involving major publishers, social media groups and adblocking companies in the coming weeks to do something about the problem.

“Quite simply – if people don’t pay in some way for content, then that content will eventually no longer exist,” he said. “And that’s as true for the latest piece of journalism as it is for the new album from Muse.”

Note how the government, which ought to protect our interests seeks to help corporate bastards like Forbes. On yes, they'll be representated at the round table, they government will help them violate our privacy, steal our personal data and target us with ads for shite no sane person would buy. Not usof course,not the poor punters driven to use ad blockers to shut out those irritating little animations because they drive us bonkers (and on mobile devices use up data allowance.) No, not us, but the poor, hard - up corporate media including hard up billionaire Steve Forbes.

What will these fuckwits in the political establishment impose on us next, an idea I trod on while setting up a privatised phone network in Sweden 20 years ago, giving people free phone calls so long as they allowed the network to interrupt calls with messages from sponsors? Forcing us to watch the ads on the telly? Making the shopping channel the co - producer of all popular dramas, soaps, talk shows and Strictly. I don't mind non - active ads on the net, for example a little pucture of a widget and the slogan, "Buy Wignall's wonderful Widgets because they're good." It's unlikely I would ever click on the ad but static ads are easily ignored, just as websites like Huffington Post and The Daily Beast are easily ignored.

As for paying for content on the web, the idea is bollocks. There is a wealth of free information out on the net, published by amateurs like the people who contribute to this blog. Much of it (Facebook excepted) is of a far higher quality and far more accurate than the chumps in the MSM produce. Who wants to read about Kim Kardiashian's arse, she didn't grow it herself after all.

I would not mind paying for a newspaper, but the cupid stunts who own them think they can get away with charging me the same for an online edition as for the print version. No paper and ink to buy, no printing machines to maintain, vastly reduced staff (no printers, labourers, typesetters), no distribution costs, no newsagents margin. And they want a pound a day. Do they think us punters are really that stupid?

I use a Kindle and it's a bit of a bummer having to pay almost the same for ebooks from a leading other as print books (see above re print newspapers). But I've had several really good books self published or from small publishers for £0.99, £1.99, £2.99 which makes up for it and gets one back at the thieving corporations. Music and video again is different from news content, musicians deserve to be paid, buy vinyl or CDs or at least pay for downloads (although the corporate piracy comes into play here - we should not have to pay the same for a digital download album as for a CD, again there are no production or distribution costs)

So websites that rely on ad revenue, give your ad brokers some earache, tell them punters do not want intrusive ads, we are suspicious of what scripts might be doing with the 90% of CPU capacity they grab, we hate cutesy - pie little animations so you can take your condescending attitude and fuck the fucking fuck off.

Coup In Turkey? Helicopters, Military Jets Reported Flying Over Capital; Army, Tanks Deployed

Fortunately I was out most of the day and so was catching up on posting the gang's submissions and suggestions. I'm not usually online this late on a Friday.

Reports are coming in on the news wires of an attempted coup in Turkey. It must be stressed none of this is confirmed but the sources, Reuters and Agence France Presse (AFP) are more reliable than most and they are reporting the sounds of shooting and explosions in the Turkish capital, Ankara, with military jets and helicopters having been sighted overflying the city. According to Reuters, gunfire could be heard in the streets while bridges heading into Istanbul have been currently shut down.

According to local media reports, citing a pro-government newspaper, this is an attempted coup.

This news story will obviously be unfolding overnight, we will report more tomorrow because it is the time when in civilised counties, bottles of wine are opened.

Just as a smug little sign off though, we reported the liklihood of a coup in Turkey back in March, when President Erdogan transferred legislative power from the democraticallyish elected government to himself.

Swedish Press Conceals Migrant Crimes Due to Loyalty to Government

A harrowing picture of a Swedish victim of immigrant gang rape. The point our breast beating, hand wringing, attention seeking, self righteous, politically correct contingent fail to understand is men from certain cultures in certain parts of the world have such hatred of female sexuality that they can't just rape (which is unforgivable of course), those shits like to destroy their victims mentally and physically. It has now been officially confirmed that Sweden's leading popular newspaper Dagens Nyheter (DN) - one of the major country's media sources - colludedwith government officials to hide from the public the numerous cases of murder, sexual assault, rape and violent assault (including malicious wounding with firearms and knives) committed by migrants against native Swedes raises questions about European political leaders commitment to such principles as freedom of speech and expression, democracy, and equality under the law.

Numerous sexual assaults were reported to have taken place during the youth festival ‘We are Sthlm' in August 2015.

Dagens Nyheter, however, did not carry a report of this incident even though it was a major story, and the public were not given any information on the issue until new media journalism put it into the public domain. The newspaper tried to excuse its omission by claiming a lack of relevant data and the fact that the police thoroughly "silenced" the incidents.

The newspaper explained that it had only one source of information who wished to stay anonymous and could not get any additional confirmation from the police.

However, according to an investigation of another Swedish newspaper Nyheter Idag, Dagens Nyheter was unwilling to draw attention to such "sensitive" subjects because of its loyalty to the country's pro - immigrant, socialist government. Nyheter Idag published the evidence confirming that the excuse with "the only source of information" was a lie.

It turned out that DN journalists had contact with a policeman, who was deployed during the festival and therefore were able to acquire any necessary confirmation "at first hand." Moreover, the policeman said he was willing to talk about the sexual assaults and even tried to initiate a conversation on the issue, but the DN reporter seemingly tried to avoid the subject.

Apparently, the newspaper was loyal to the government and did not want to cover the sensitive issue, fearing that it would "play into the hands "of nationalists and worsen the situation. Faced with Choosing between loyalty to socialist ideology and journalist ethics, the left leaning newspaper opted for the first and concealed important facts in order to serve a politcal agenda, Nyheter Idag concluded.
