The Real Story About The Firing Of Jimmy Kimmel

Wednesday's decision by Disney / ABC to fire late-night host Jimmy Kimmel for lying about the suspect in Charlie Kirk's assassination, the left (the architects of cancel culture) exploded with rage - saying that Kimmel's firing was because the Trump2 White House is firing comedians, destroying freedom of expression and taking away democracy. I am surprised and disappointed to see many in the British media, who I thought were slightly more sane, falling for the same hogwash.

The fury of the left has focued on their trying to defend Kimmel's insane assertion that the suspect in the assassination of conservative influence Charlie Kirk is a MAGA (Trump) supporter when all the available evidence (and there's a lot,) shows him to be a far left Trans activist with links to several left wing activist groups. Kimmel's false assertions on this alone are indefensible.

Jimmy Kimmel, one of that new breed of 'woke' (i.e. not in the least funny unless you think calling people who hold different views to your idiots is scintillating wit,) comedians, has hosted a daily late-night show on ABC for the last ten years, during which time his ratings have dropped steadily, which is not surprising as he has rountinely insulted half of the voting punlic of the USA night after night.

His suspension (de facto firing,) was announced after three days of mocking relentlessly and making sick jokes on air about the assassination of Charlie Kirk. According to the mainstream media commentariat, this is dangerous censorship, an attack on free speech, state control of the media, blah, blah. Such claims expose a total ignorance of what has been going on in the US.

None of that is true.

Kimmel’s ‘sacking’ was a business decision, pure and simple. Anybody who is aware of the output from the left-wing US media such as ABC, CNN and MSNBC, will know that they still devote every hour of the day to virulent anti-Trump propaganda while for four years he could hardly find anything to criticise a senile, barely sane Democrat president for. The idea that their bosses now want to suck up to the President by firing someone who opposed him is beyond ludicrous. The cancelling of Jimmy Kimmell is purely a business decision, nothing at all to do with Donald Trump and very little to do with free speech.

The reality is that Kimmel’s unhinged rants over the last week and his claims that "The MAGA crowd are trying to score political points off the assassination," led to many of ABC’s affiliates pulling Kimmel Live from their channels – in the US, large TV companies such as ABC rely on these affiliates to carry broadcasts to local cable viewers. One of the largest affiliates cited a ‘breach of journalistic standards’, while Sinclair’s executive chairman David Smith called the remarks ‘divisive and irresponsible’.

"Mr. Kimmel’s comments about the death of Mr. Kirk are offensive and insensitive at a critical time in our national political discourse, and we do not believe they reflect the spectrum of opinions, views, or values of the local communities in which we are located, Continuing to give Mr. Kimmel a broadcast platform in the communities we serve is simply not in the public interest at the current time, and we have made the difficult decision to preempt his show," said Andrew Alford, president of Nexstar's broadcasting division.

Put simply, theses affiliates do not want to piss off half of their subscribers who happen to think Kimmel is a far - left dickhead.

Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr blasted Kimmel on Wednesday, telling podcaster Benny Johnson that Kimmel's comments were "truly sick," and that there's a "strong case" for legal action against both ABC and Disney (ABC is a Disney subsidiary). "This is a very, very serious issue right now for Disney," said Carr. "These companies can find ways to take action on Kimmel or there is going to be additional work for the FCC ahead."

With this wholesale loss of syndication, coupled with advertisers also pulling ads from Kimmel's timeslot, and the threat of sanctions from the Federal regulator, ABC had little choice but to dump the show. Executives from Disney, who own ABC, including CEO Bob Iger and co-chair Dana Walden, cited a surge in ‘advertiser calls’ as a primary factor in suspending the show. These calls reportedly started rolling in after Kimmel’s September 15 monologue, with brands expressing concerns over the ‘insensitive’ remarks about Charlie Kirk’s death potentially damaging their reputations amid national tensions.

As far as I am aware, Kimmel remains free to continue voicing his opinion about Trump, Charlie Kirk or anyone else therefore his right to free speech has not been infringed. He has not been silenced or censored. He hasn't been arrested or jailed. Nobody has put a gagging order on him. He still has his right to free speech, together with his right to find another platform that will have him. Or indeed to create his own platform out of his own pocket as others have done (e.g Graham Linehan's substack,) all that has happened is his client (I assume his contract is as a freelance broadcaster,) has decided the product he is delivering in not fit for purpose by virtue of the fact that it is damaging their revenue stream. He is free to schlepp his schtick around medialand and hope to find somebody willing to pat for it. Welcome to reality Jimmy.

All that has happened to him is that his employers have terminated his contract, as they are entitled to do, because he has not been successful at his job. It happens to millions of people. And just like those millions, he is free to ply his trade elsewhere.

The Imminent Death Of Mainstream Media

It is easy for those of us in the blogosphere or alt_media arena to attack a method of delivering news that is a holdover from the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries and claim mainstream media is dying.

This has been apparent for years and has become more obvious since Donald Trump was re-elected as US President. News that CNN is laying off half their workforce, that MSNBC’s ratings are no longer statistically significant, the loss making Daily Telegraph is up for sale but no buyer will accept the T&Cs or that The Guardian is in financial trouble are greeted with celebratory memes.

Newspaper readership has been dropping for decades, and television news channels struggle to drum up the audience of a moderately popular YouTube channel featuring cute cat videos set to quirky music.

That’s can all be justified by citing the laws of the market. CNN, MSNBC, The Guardian – all of them – deserve to disappear. Digital communication has allowed people to undermine and overthrow decades-old propaganda outlets.

But does that mean it’s over? Is Elon Musk actually correct when he reassuringly declares on X that “YOU are the media now”.

Well the answer to that depends on whether or not you think the same forces that spent untold resources constructing this system of information control are just going to give up and go home when it starts to fail.

I mean – does anyone seriously think they would? It is more more likely is it not, that they’ll just regroup and be reborn under different banners?

Remember – newspapers and TV channels are functionaries of the establishment, not the establishment itself. For several centuries they have been crucial to the selling of ideas and agendas, but they are a voice not a brain. They’re just a tool of control, not the philosophy. And tools can easily be replaced when they wear out.

The internet has replaced television as the media now, just as television replaced radio and radio replaced print.

Legacy media is no longer THE media but it is still maintream, there are still millions of people who rely on for the information upon which they will base their opinions, on print and broadcast news. It’s likely most of them will not be following alternative journalists/podcasters/influencers online if, indeed, they’re aware of them. From my limited experience, their are few people who go beyond Google, YouTube and Facebook which, as we know, are heavily censored, closely aligned with the deep state agencies that create the naratives to which news reporting conforms, and highly suspect!

Those of us who get most of our information from the Internet will have our favourites, some of whom have massive followings, be they funded by corporations or small donors. It is up to us to use our discernment and our intuition. If we watch enough widely-differing purveyors of the news, we should be able to get the gist of what’s happening across the globe, form an opinion and be prepared to adjust it as more information comes in. In other words, we have to use both sides of our brains as we look for differing views on current affairs.

Mass media is corporate media, in that vast capital and authority among the monied clique that controls large business operations is required for broadcasting any message. To reiterate McLuhan’s misunderstood meme, which he saw as being over-misused, the above described msm is it’s own message. It is the voice of wealth-authority and as such we know “history is written by the winners” to their own benefit. So I agree with Kit, we should be wary of every content delivery flowing out of this form. Whether tributary-out influencers, fbBots, or one’s influenced neighbor rumor, awareness, calm, assessment and patience must be a constant new form of audience intelligence. But the medium is an equally important sign of the character of the delivery.

I don’t give a damn how these online personalities present themselves. To care about such trivia is as daft as being influenced by bright lights and flashy sets. There can be as much sense spoken in someone’s kitchen as a smart studio.

We all have our personal favourites many of whom will specialise in different subject matter, are journalists and/or writers, have made videos and nearly all are likely to have to have interesting guests. Yes, they have teams. the tasks would be impossible without them, but it’s easy to spot those who are manipulated behind the scenes.

One of the deciding factors when I tune into someone new is their persona – would I trust them if I met them? This is a good yardstick when choosing who to follow. And if they are now the ‘new’ mainstream, so what! That simply means they’re more prevalent.

People Are Abandoning Mainstream News - Here's Why

BBC News today published in its Culture section, an article about the dramatic decrease in the number of people using its channels, those of rival broadcasters, and the print and online editions of traditional nrewspapers as their preferred way of accessing the news. The article presents the findings of resulting from a huge survey which collected the views of 97,943 people.

More and more people are turning away from news, described news content as depressing, repetitive and boring, the study suggests. Almost four in 10 (39%) people in the study, which covered several national communities said they often actively avoid the news, compared with 29% in 2017, according to the report by Oxford University’s Reuters Institute.

Wars in Ukraine and the Middle East may have contributed to people’s desire to switch off the news, the report’s authors said. This is despite there being strong reasons for expecting concerns about the wars esclating to global conflict might case people to be more rather than less interested, in the news:

Publication of the study's findings comes at a time when billions of people around the world have been going to the polls in national and regional elections, another reason why at this time, pepple might have more cause to follow news coverage..

The report found that elections have increased interest in the news in a few countries, including the United States. However, the overall trend remains firmly downwards, according to the study.

In the U.K., interest in news has almost halved since 2015. “The news agenda has obviously been particularly difficult in recent years,” the report’s lead author Nic Newman told BBC News. Other sources report that many people questions feel there is a political bias towards the globalist left in BBC and other mainstream news coverage.

This development will come as no surprise to those of us who have created a hobby or retirement career for ourselves as reoprters and commentators in the alt_nres community and no only because we all regularly (too regularly unfortunately,) report on misinformation, disinformation, downright lies, propaganda, biased reporting and othr bollocks pumped out by government and corporate press officers and faithfully parrotted by mainstream news outlets.

People now demonstrably have trust issues with various things; politicians ( as evidenced by the polls and what’s happening across Europe and the U.S ), Big Pharma ( it’s often reported there’s been a downturn in people rocking up for childhood vaccinations and the Covid booster uptake has been in decline for some time ), and a distrust of all types of authority is naturally going to follow, because who has been the biggest, most influential mouthpiece when it comes to spreading government/globalist propaganda and lies? The media.

There’s a definite lag effect when it comes to the reporting but this just confirms what is happening in real life, and we should not expect any othe.r outcome

Much like if you find out your other half has been having an affair with your best friend, would you really continue to vote for a party that continues to let you down, election after election, never keeps their promises and lies to your face? What intelligent person is going to just stay in such a toxic relationship like a right mug and not break free from the whole dysfunctional cycle? Any right-minded person would ditch their partner ( and their bestie ) just like they’d go vote for some totally different party/person for the first time in their lives. People don’t /have to stay put and continue to be shat on from a high height like they’ve no control over the matter. So why anyone would even bother with MSM nowadays is beyond me. It’s just insane, but I think we know by now the correlation between MSM muppets and the following of the various government agendas. The cultists need to step away from the Kool-Aid and detox their minds.

They should do a survey at the next ‘protest’ or when the ‘Just Sod Off’ idiots are next glued to the road and ask them if they’ve got a BBC license or if they read the papers. Surely the results would be entirely predictable.

Poland’s public television news stations went off the air yesterday as police conducted massive raids to seize public news station TVP, with fears becoming realized that Prime Minister Donald Tusk would move quickly to crack down on press freedoms once he assumed power.

[Tusk is known for being one of the most fanatical federalists among European leaders and has long advocated forcing political union on EU member states to create a federal European superstate - and he has the audacity to call his opponents far right - Boggart Blog.]

A group of senior Law and Justice (PiS) politicians, including party leader Jarosław Kaczyński and former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, arrived at the headquarters of state-run TV broadcaster TVP on Wednesday afternoon as the new pro-EU government moved to seize control of state-run press in dramatic authoritarian fashion.

Both Morawiecki and Kaczyński said the government’s decision to replace public media chiefs resembled a “coup d’état” and an illegal “takeover by force.”

Australian TV Show Host Wrecks Greta Thunberg, Other Climate Activists in Classic Segment

Back in September 2019, there was a day of so-called “climate strikes” all over Australia that caused quite a stir in the Aussie media.

Many of the attendees were young people who were skipping school after Swedish teenager and global climate activist Greta Thunberg put out a call to action and encouraged teenagers, in so many words, to make their voices heard before it was too late.

In response to the protests, one Australian media figure, in particular, was particularly incensed at what he viewed as young folks being spoiled and brainwashed and took to the airwaves to voice his frustrations over the hypocrisy of those young climate activists, many of who are actually pampered snobs being shamelessly used and carefully manipulated by adults who should know better.

Video of that segment in which the man – conservative commentator Alan Jones – reads a piece called “Growing up” that someone sent to him going off on Thunberg and other youth climate change activists recently began circulating again on Twitter, Rumble, and other social media platforms and has since gone viral.

It’s a great clip, a classic for sure. Below is the transcript and below that is the video, which was juxtaposed next to Thunberg’s now-infamous “how dare you!” speech at the United Nations, which she gave a few days after the protests (transcript below the video window):

“To all the school kids going on strike for climate change, you’re the first generation who’ve required air conditioning in every classroom. You want TV in every room and your classes are all computerized. You spend all day and night on electronic devices.

More than ever you don’t walk or ride bikes to school, but you arrive in caravans of private cars that choke suburban roads and worsen rush-hour traffic. You’re the biggest consumers of manufactured goods ever. And update perfectly good, expensive, luxury items to stay trendy. Your entertainment comes from electric devices.

Furthermore, the people driving your protests are the same people who insist on artificially inflating the population growth through immigration, which increases the need for energy, manufacturing, and transport. The more people we have, the more forest and bushland we clear, the more of the environment that’s destroyed.

How about this? Tell your teachers to switch off the aircon, walk or ride to school, switch off your devices and read a book, make a sandwich instead of buying manufactured fast food.

No, none of this will happen, because, the piece says, ‘you’re selfish, badly educated, virtue-signaling little turds inspired by the adults around you who crave a feeling of having a noble cause while they indulge themselves in Western luxury and unprecedented quality of life’.

The piece ends by saying ‘wake up, grow up, and shut up until you’re sure of the facts before protesting.'”

Can’t argue with that! In a slightly different version of the clip where Jones notes he wants to send the piece he read to climate fraudster Al Gore.

The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for the fiscal year 2018, which passed the US Senate earlier this week, carries some added provisions that have little in common with the military, as well as some provisions that appear to have little to do with defence spending.

McAdams says congress has published a bill that could potentially block Russian broadcasters from being shown in the US. It could allow US content providers to break their contracts, leaving Russian channels without any legal recourse. This is in spite of yet another investigation into alleged Russian meddling in the US 2016 election failing to find any evidence to support the claims.

The plan to introduce television censorship is buried inside a tiny amendment of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). The part about Russia is summarized in just a few lines, between details on funding of the US military. Amendment No 1096, which aims to "prohibit multichannel video programming distributors from being required to carry certain video content that is owned or controlled by the Government of the Russian Federation".

Why this continued focus on Russia and completely fabricated claims od meddling in US politics in what's supposed to be an annual defense spending bill?

According to McAdams there is an obsession on Capitol Hill and within the mainstream media with Russia Today (RT) because RT is effective and RT is watched while American "News" Channels that stick closely to Washinton's propaganda narrative and show left wing bias in their reporting are losing viewers rapidly. But also, and this is very important, because RT carries perspectives that are not available in the mainstream media.

Commentators on RT would say the same thing that they say on RT if they were invited by any of the mainstream media, but because mainstram media's idea of "diversity" is only skin deep those independent voices will never be heard on minstream channels. The case is that John McCain and Lindsey Graham, the people who were behind this amendment, the Atlantic Council and the others are trying to silence RT in the USA. They, and supporters of Hillary Clinton still clinging to the delusional belief that President Trump can be deposed and the rival he defeated for the Presidency somehow, against all constitutional provisions, replace him are the totalitarians, they are the enemies of free speech; they're the enemies of the First Amendment; they don’t want anyone coming on television saying that America’s foreign policy is a disaster; it is broken; it is making the U.S.A. more vulnerable to attack, and it’s costing a fortune. It cannot stand competition in the area of ideas.

There should be no government censorship of ideas, it should be viewer beware. If you’re watching RT and you know that it is funded, directly or indirectly, by the Russian government, you take that into consideration just as any intelligent person would do. The same rules should apply as when Americans watch France 24 or BBC America which reflect the perspectives of, respectively, the French and British governments into consideration, because it is funded by those bodies.
