It is estimated that at least 20 members of the Libyan National Army (LNA) were killed and 40 injured in two days of fighting in the eastern city of Benghazi, a hospital official said on Wednesday.
The clashes come as the LNA, a the dominant military force in the country's eastern province, tightens its grip on the port and attempts to dislodge the ISIS affiliated forces it has been battling for more than two years.
Led by Khalifa Haftar,e LNA has advanced in Benghazi but still faces pockets of resistance. On Monday, it launched a fresh offensive in the Guwarsha and Ganfouda districts, carrying out air strikes and saying it had made some progress in ground fighting. War planes were heard over Benghazi on Wednesday morning, and ambulances ferrying casualties raced through the streets. Roads were shut leading to western parts of the city where clashes were continuing.
At least seven militants were killed in Guwarsha on Wednesday, military spokesman Fadel al-Hassi said. Earlier casualty figures for the LNA's opponents were not available.
On Tuesday, a car bombing near a vegetable market at the eastern entrance to the city left 14 wounded, a second hospital official said.
Haftar has become the dominant figure for factions based in eastern Libya. So far, they have opposed a government backed by the United Nations that arrived in Tripoli in March.
From being Africa's wealthiest and most socially advanced nation Libya slid into the political turmoil of a failed state with a multifaceted civil war in progress after long-time ruler Muammar Gaddafi was toppled five years ago in a regime change operation led by the three main western military power, USA, France and UK (the FUKUS axis) whose bombs and missiles reduced cities and towns to rubble while Islamic terrorist proxies were used on the ground . In 2014, rival parliaments and governments were set up in Tripoli and eastern Libya, both backed by loose alliances of armed groups.

USA Colour Revolution? 60% Of Anti - Trump Protestors Were From Out Of State Rent - A - Mob Types
It has been reported here and elsewhere that 'charity' organiation which are really nothing more than a front for George Soros' political activism have been funding groups such as Black Lives Matter (BLM) and MoveOn.org and mobilizing protest groups across the U.S.A. in a bid to destabilise the country before Donald Trump's inauguration as President.
According to financial records reviewed by The Washington Times and amid more headlines of Soros' involvement, KGW reports that more than half of the anti-Trump protesters arrested in Portland were from out of state.
In other words over 60% of the arrested protesters in Portland were not local voters dismayed by the election of Donald Trump.
This is exactly the pattern that occurred in Ferguson and Charlotte during BLM protests about police shootings of suspects who resisted arrest. Again we see a very fuzzy official narrative when make details hard to pin down, and what appears to be the involvement professional agitators (community organisers?) popping up at key times to encourage social unrest (which as we recently reported is the stated aim of George Soros' MoveOn.org), all of which perhaps explains why these 'professionals' were so reluctant to be filmed or 'caught on tape' as GatewayPundit puts it. News crews in Portland, Oregon were attacked by anti-Trump rioters Sunday night, according to Portland Police. The protesters also handed out leaflets warning people to not record the riots.
One reporter, Mike Bivins, who was threatened by the pro-Hillary mob decided to not report the threats but changed his mind after the announcement by police that a news crew had been attacked. Bivins is student at Portland State University and was reporting for PSU”s Pacific Sentinel.

USA Trumps Brexit: Next Quitaly or Eirexit?
After another weekend of bad news for globalists, with US President Elect Trump getting to grips with the task of taking over from the Obama Administration while in Europe both Bulgaria and Moldova have taken steps away from the Brussels Bureaucrats dream of a Federal European Superstate by electing pro - Russian, Eurosceptic Presidents, it seems the race is on to be the next EU member to leave the Union.

With an anti - federalist candidate leading in opinion polls in the Austrian presidential election rerun, following the original vote being declared void when the pro - EU side was found guilty of massive electoral fraud and Eurosceptic parties on the rose throughout the EU, the future looks bleake for the putative bureaucratic dictatorship.
In a year of confounded expectations, another allegedly unthinkable idea, the break up of the EU is gaining momentum. Could Ireland follow Britain out of the EU?
It is hard to see what is unthinkable about an Irish exit. as Anthony Coughlan says it was supreme folly for Ireland to join the European Single Currency (Euro) when the UK did not, and Ireland has twice seem the Euronazis wipe their arse on the Irish constitution, once by refusing to accept the result of an Irish referendum and once by bulying little Ireland to violate its own constitution by transferring sovereign power to Brussels. The Irish Times noted the rising support for Eirexit from small political parties and various fringe groups and asked “Are these a collection of disparate and peripheral voices, or do they reflect a population far less enamoured of Brussels than its political leaders?”
It seems safe to say we already have the answer to that. Look at Brexit, the rise of AfD in Germany, Front National in France, branded right wing extremists; or socialist parties PODEMOS and Syriza in Spain and Greece. For Brexit, the left was supposed to vote vote overwhelmingly “Remain”, instead, only the big, labour dominated cities did. That killed the m=yth that Labour was the party of the working class, since before World War Two Labour has not given a damn about the working class, but has taken for granted the working class vote as it became the party of the metropolitan elite.
Look at the US. Working class people, men and women voted hugely for Trump, a billionaire but a man who spoke of their concerns rather than pontificating about the problems of Africa, South East Asia and South America, or Marxist bollocks such as redistrubtion of wealth and dree movement of labour around the world. All this benefits the wealthy elite, the 0.001% while making things harder for the bottom 90% by net income.

Until very recently, the very notion of Ireland leaving the EU was so outlandish and marginal that it did not feature in any public discourse in a meaningful way.
But it has now been thrust more into the limelight by a combination of Brexit, the Apple case, fears of an EU stealth attack on Ireland’s most sacred cow, corporation tax; and now, the election of Trump.
Certainly, Eirexit has gained some momentum of late. There is a small but growing band of public figures questioning the basis of Irish EU membership. Some are opposed to any notion of a federal Europe or EU superstate.
Others think Eirexit might turn out to be inevitable if circumstances change. And the public might be with them on this one more than politicians think.
Over the course of 55 years, one person has been almost a voice in the wilderness in his consistent opposition to the EU.
In October 1961, Anthony Coughlan returned to Ireland to lecture at Trinity College Dublin.
A month later he was one of seven people – along with Noël Browne and future Labour TD Barry Desmond – who signed a letter to The Irish Times opposing Ireland’s application to join the European Economic Community. The idea was being mooted in political circles at the time.
“Our supreme folly is having joined the eurozone without the UK doing it,” he said. “It was lunacy for us to join. I cannot see us staying in the EU if the UK leaves,” says Couglan.
Left-Wing Argument
Socialist Party TD Paul Murphy holds the same view. It’s not a “foreground” issue but if a referendum were held, they would support a Leave vote.
“The EU has championed austerity and neoliberal policies, and right-wing governments who won’t deliver for ordinary people.”
Sinn Féin’s analysis of the shortfalls of the EU would not differ too much from Murphy’s. MEP Matt Carthy lists its treatment of peripheral countries such as Greece, the TTIP trade deal, and what he calls its anti-democratic institutions.
However, the party wants Ireland to stay in the EU. “Our view is the EU needs fundamental reform rather than an exit,” says Carthy.
Superstate
Those on the right are suspicious of what they see as a creeping move towards a superstate and the repercussions this might have for Ireland’s sovereignty.
Former Progressive Democrats leader, Senator Michael McDowell is a sceptic but one who wants to remain in the EU.
He said he believes in a confederal EU, not a federal one and is completely opposed to an EU superstate.
His former adviser Cormac Lucey, a Sunday Times columnist, has written that Eirexit is an option that ought to be considered, also arguing that the bulk of Ireland’s trade is with the English-speaking world and not the EU.
Micro parties such as Direct Democracy Ireland, and other splinter groups, have set up social media platforms calling for an Eirexit.
Renua councillor Keith Redmond, a member of the right-leaning think-tank Hibernia Forum, says if the EU presses ahead with any plans for a superstate, or introduces customs tariffs on UK trade, then he will support Eirexit.
Coughlan has remained consistent over a lifetime, still holding to the view the EU has not really benefited Ireland as a whole, but rather a few bigger players.

Putin: Russian Military Not Threatening Anybody, We Are Protecting Our Borders

The Russian military isn’t threatening anybody, Russian President Vladimir Putin said, expressing bewilderment about the scaremongering reaction of the West to Russian army exercises, which are being carried out carried out inside Russia.
“Our Armed Forces are not threatening anybody," Putin said as he visited motor maker Avtodiesel in Russia’s Yaroslavl on Saturday.“I would like to stress once again, to make sure everyone hears – not only people in this hall,” he added.
“Why would we do this?” Putin said, commenting on claims from NATO leaders that Moscow is preparing to attack other countries, particularly, its neighbors on the eastern shore of the Baltic. As this blog has reported previouly, military exercises in the Baltic States involving US and NATO troops have been a regular occurrence for some time. Whatever the stated purpose of these, to put American, British, French and German troops on the ground only a few kilometers from Russian borders can only be seen as a calculated provocation.
Putin added, further justifying Russia's action, “We have the biggest territory in the world, like I said, everyone knows it, and we need to provide effectively security for our own country, for our own people,” he said."Our Armed Forces are capable of doing it, and we shall continue developing them.”
He acknowledged that a lot has been done to make the Russian military “efficient… modern and highly effective” as part of a national program to develop the Armed Forces.
“The number of military drills has increased multiple times, including snap checks, which for some reasons from time to time worry our counterparts, let’s call them as such for now," the Russian leader said.
“Whenever they are having drills, we don’t worry, but for some reason they begin worrying at once. They’re so nervous," he added.
According to Putin, the Russian military must be “compact, but highly effective. Thus we shall continue the structural reform, and we shall keep optimizing the personnel, but without any mass cuts.”
In its development, the Russian military will continue paying special attention to IT, reconnaissance, both agent- and technology-based, communications systems as well as modern high-tech weaponry, he stressed.

The Russian military isn’t threatening anybody, Russian President Vladimir Putin said, expressing bewilderment about the scaremongering reaction of the West to Russian army exercises, which are being carried out carried out inside Russia.
“Our Armed Forces are not threatening anybody," Putin said as he visited motor maker Avtodiesel in Russia’s Yaroslavl on Saturday.“I would like to stress once again, to make sure everyone hears – not only people in this hall,” he added.
“Why would we do this?” Putin said, commenting on claims from NATO leaders that Moscow is preparing to attack other countries, particularly, its neighbors on the eastern shore of the Baltic. As this blog has reported previouly, military exercises in the Baltic States involving US and NATO troops have been a regular occurrence for some time. Whatever the stated purpose of these, to put American, British, French and German troops on the ground only a few kilometers from Russian borders can only be seen as a calculated provocation.
Putin added, further justifying Russia's action, “We have the biggest territory in the world, like I said, everyone knows it, and we need to provide effectively security for our own country, for our own people,” he said."Our Armed Forces are capable of doing it, and we shall continue developing them.”
He acknowledged that a lot has been done to make the Russian military “efficient… modern and highly effective” as part of a national program to develop the Armed Forces.
“The number of military drills has increased multiple times, including snap checks, which for some reasons from time to time worry our counterparts, let’s call them as such for now," the Russian leader said.
“Whenever they are having drills, we don’t worry, but for some reason they begin worrying at once. They’re so nervous," he added.
According to Putin, the Russian military must be “compact, but highly effective. Thus we shall continue the structural reform, and we shall keep optimizing the personnel, but without any mass cuts.”
In its development, the Russian military will continue paying special attention to IT, reconnaissance, both agent- and technology-based, communications systems as well as modern high-tech weaponry, he stressed.

Trump Says US Should attack ISIS, Not Assad

US President-elect Donald Trump says the United States should fight the Daesh terrorist group, but stop attacking the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
In his first interview since his election earlier this week, Trump told The Wall Street Journal that he has had “an opposite view of many people regarding Syria.”
Trump suggested a sharper focus on fighting the terrorist group rather than trying to oust President Assad.
The president-elect criticized the Obama administration's policy of attempting to find “moderate Syrian opposition groups” to boost fighting against Assad, saying he will seek a possible rapprochement with Russia and find a solution for the Syrian conflict.
“My attitude was you’re fighting Syria, Syria is fighting ISIS [Daesh], and you have to get rid of ISIS…Now we’re backing rebels against Syria, and we have no idea who these people are,” he told the Journal on Friday.
During his final presidential debate with Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, Trump emphasized that his priority in Syria would be to eliminate Daesh and not to oust Assad.

America's Colour Revolution? Soros And The Clintons Ready To Lead.
We know already that the mobs protesting against Donald Trump's victory in the US Presidential Election are being funded and organised by 'philantrhopic' groups sponsored by the billionaire trouble maker and Marxist activist George Soros, in fact the tactics hve a lot in common with the 'colour revolutions' seen in former Yugoslavia, Georgia, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Moldova and most recently the Arab Spring countries.
One common factor in many of the colour revolutions is the involvement of a numer of 'charties' decidicated to promoting the idology of cultural Marxism and a globalist agenda in organising and funding them. And if we dig a little deeper we find these organisations are all linked to one man, George Soros.
It has long ben known that the hungarian - American billionaire was a big supporter of the US Democratic Party from the era of Bill Clinton, through Barack Obama to the failed presidential campaign of Hillary Clinton, and has throughout that time pursued an agenda aimed at turning the USA into a pseudo - democratic oligarchy. In the wake of Hillary's humiliating defeat by Donald Trump, it seems Soros is collaborating with the rump of the Clintons' canpaign team to destabilise the USA. Getting ready for a colour revolution maybe?

Defeated Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton is not about to «go quietly into that good night». On the morning after her surprising and unanticipated defeat at the hands of Republican Party upstart Donald Trump, Mrs. Clinton and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, entered the ball room of the art-deco New Yorker hotel in midtown Manhattan and were both adorned in purple attire. The press immediately noticed the color and asked what it represented. Clinton spokespeople claimed it was to represent the coming together of Democratic «Blue America» and Republican «Red America» into a united purple blend. This statement was a complete ruse as is known by citizens of countries targeted in the past by the vile political operations of international hedge fund tycoon George Soros.
The Clintons, who both have received millions of dollars in campaign contributions and Clinton Foundation donations from Soros, were, in fact, helping to launch Soros’s «Purple Revolution» in America. The Purple Revolution will resist all efforts by the Trump administration to push back against the globalist policies of the Clintons and soon-to-be ex-President Barack Obama. The Purple Revolution will also seek to make the Trump administration a short one through Soros-style street protests and political disruption.
It is doubtful that President Trump’s aides will advise the new president to carry out a diversionary criminal investigation of Mrs. Clinton’s private email servers and other issues related to the activities of the Clinton Foundation, especially when the nation faces so many other pressing issues, including jobs, immigration, and health care. However, House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz said he will continue hearings in the Republican-controlled Congress on Hillary Clinton, the Clinton Foundation, and Mrs. Clinton’s aide Huma Abedin. President Trump should not allow himself to be distracted by these efforts. Chaffetz was not one of Trump’s most loyal supporters.
Trump must distance himself from sudden well-wishing neocons, adventurists, militarists, and interventionists and not permit them to infest his administration. President-elect Trump cannot afford to permit those who are in the same web as Nuland, Hadley, Bolton, and others to join his administration where they would metastasize like an aggressive form of cancer. These individuals would not carry out Trump’s policies but seek to continue to damage America’s relations with Russia, China, Iran, Cuba, and other nations.

In The Words Of The Prophet Kurt Corbain
I was never a fan or Nirvana or Kurt Corbain (though he was a dickhead, and his lyrics were just garbled collections of comic book images) and I don't believe in prophecy, which is not to say that I don't accept people can at times experience prescience, but when I saw this online I was gobsmacked.
Having checked to conform as far as possible that it is authentic (i.e. left wing propaganda site Snopes says its a hoax, so on balance it is probably true),and found that it seems to be, it must provide food for thought. A rock star who, a year before his death in 1994, not only spoke the truth about the corruption of American politics (and let's not pretend Europe was any different) and the eventual people's pushback that would topple the self serving elites from their ivory towers, he also named the political outsider who would figure in the rebellion, businessman and property developer Donald Trump. What did Kurt Corbain, who spent most of his life shit faced on cocktails of various drugs (mostly heroin) know that the rest of us either didn't or were ignoring.
It reminds me of when Donald Rumsefeld who was Secretary for Something when George W Bush was US President came in for a lot of ridicule for talking about 'known unknowns - the things we know we don't know' and 'unknown unknowns, things we don't know we don't know.' Having checked to conform as far as possible that it is authentic (i.e. left wing propaganda site Snopes says its a hoax, so on balance it is probably true),and found that it seems to be, it must provide food for thought. A rock star who, a year before his death in 1994, not only spoke the truth about the corruption of American politics (and let's not pretend Europe was any different) and the eventual people's pushback that would topple the self serving elites from their ivory towers, he also named the political outsider who would figure in the rebellion, businessman and property developer Donald Trump. What did Kurt Corbain, who spent most of his life shit faced on cocktails of various drugs (mostly heroin) know that the rest of us either didn't or were ignoring.
It reminds me of when Donald Rumsefeld who was Secretary for Something when George W Bush was US President came in for a lot of ridicule for talking about 'known unknowns - the things we know we don't know' and 'unknown unknowns, things we don't know we don't know.' The Will Of The People" Is A Myth

Because of this, at the conclusion of each election, the victors claim the election reflected "the will of the people" and, in many cases, also claim a "mandate" to implement the victor's policy agenda.
This has always been a tenuous claim in every way, of course. Within the American electoral system, there is no reason to assume that a vote for candidate X is an affirmative vote for candidate X's policy agenda. The voter's intent may be to simply choose a less-bad option with the intent of voting against Candidate Y. In fact, it is impossible to know the intent of the voters without interviewing every single one of them. And even then, the voters themselves may not remember why they voted the way or they did, or may simply lie about their intentions.
Indeed, as recent polling data from Pew shows, voters routinely report voting against other candidates as a primary motivation, rather than voting for the chosen candidate.
Even if a voter is voting for Candidate Y, it is impossible to know which aspects of that candidate's agenda meet the approval of the voters voting for that candidate.
Thus, we're forced to conclude there is no basis for the claim that a vote for candidate X means voter approval of that candidate's agenda.

Syrian war is not receding, it is escalating

While Americans were obsessing over the election run off between Trump and the presidential election campaign in which, bizarrely, foreign policy issues like the civilian death toll in the Middle East from US military action were not discussed at all, the war in that unfortunate country as well as those in Yemen, Iraq, Afghanistan and South Sudan were escalating.
According to the Pentagon, 24 US airstrikes carried out during the last 10 months killed 64 civilians in both Iraq and Syria. Unofficial figures suggest the figures are much higher. The US Defense Department said all necessary measures were taken to prevent collateral damage.
The fact that they have admitted from between 24 and 60+ deaths in both Iraq as well as Syria indicates that the US military are not precise in their targeting of Islamic State. Yet they just backed an offensive against Raqqa in northeastern Syria. And of course, they have been carrying out these airstrikes in Iraq as well in Syria now for several months. Over the last two years, they have admitted to carrying out over 12,000 airstrikes in both countries.
This blog would not blame American military personnel on the ground for civilian deaths, the people in the firing line have to defend themselves. The blame lies with The Pentagon senior officers, the politicians and lobbyists for the military / industrial complex who have sold the myth of 'precision' bombs and missiles. The essential lack of precision of blast damage and shrapnel is just one of many reasons why a conventional army should not engage with guerilla forces in urbanised areas. Yet America's leaders do it again and again.
We must hope President Trump's appointees will keep in mind the words of CIA Contractor Steven Kelley:
"It is possible to minimize the death toll to a great degree and I think the Russian air forces had certainly demonstrated that, and I believe the American forces and coalition forces have shown quite the opposite – they have actually done a lot of strikes on purpose and used this claim of it being a mistake as an excuse. But 100 percent lack of collateral damage is impossible and I think Aleppo is a perfect example where we will have to expect collateral damage."

Cardinal Willem Eijk, Archbishop of Utrecht, said many Catholics were being “misled” by gender theory to the point where they believed their children can choose their own genders, partly because “they don’t hear anything else”.
He said a papal encyclical or other similar document “might appear to be necessary” to spell out church teaching on the issue, adding that it urgently needed to communicate the truth of its teaching on the human body.
“Perhaps a document only on this problem might be an urgent question,” he told Catholic News Service, adding: “[Gender theory] is spreading and spreading everywhere in the Western world, and we have to warn people.”
“From the point of moral theology, it’s clear — you are not allowed to change your sex in this way,” he asserted.
The cardinal added that many Catholics are now beginning to accept gender ideology “in a very easy way, even parents, because they don’t hear anything else.”

Though I am a very sound sleeper, this morning I was rudely awakened at some obscene hour (well OK, it was around 6:30 am but I'm not a morning person) by Mrs T. a fully paid up, card carrying insomniac, sitting up in bed next to me, singing a daft song familiar from our childhood back in the 1950s. "WTF", I asked (well it probably sounded more like Wurr durr furr).
"I'm singing Nellie The Elephant for America's new president, she replied brightly. Slowly becoming aware I registered that the talking heads on 24 hour news were not talking about the usual things but were getting quite animated about President Trump.
"To Bombay, a travelling circus came,
they had an intelligent elephant
and Nellie was her name ..." Teri trilled happily
"Nellie The Elephant, wurr durr furr," you might well ask. But given the new president's name and the image used for his party logo, it's highly appropriate, scroll past the image of American politics' bad hair day to see a snip of the lyric. Links to full lyric and video further down.
