At Least 20 Libyan National Army Troops Killed As Fighting Continues In Benghazi

It is estimated that at least 20 members of the Libyan National Army (LNA) were killed and 40 injured in two days of fighting in the eastern city of Benghazi, a hospital official said on Wednesday.

The clashes come as the LNA, a the dominant military force in the country's eastern province, tightens its grip on the port and attempts to dislodge the ISIS affiliated forces it has been battling for more than two years.

Led by Khalifa Haftar,e LNA has advanced in Benghazi but still faces pockets of resistance. On Monday, it launched a fresh offensive in the Guwarsha and Ganfouda districts, carrying out air strikes and saying it had made some progress in ground fighting. War planes were heard over Benghazi on Wednesday morning, and ambulances ferrying casualties raced through the streets. Roads were shut leading to western parts of the city where clashes were continuing.

At least seven militants were killed in Guwarsha on Wednesday, military spokesman Fadel al-Hassi said. Earlier casualty figures for the LNA's opponents were not available.

On Tuesday, a car bombing near a vegetable market at the eastern entrance to the city left 14 wounded, a second hospital official said.

Haftar has become the dominant figure for factions based in eastern Libya. So far, they have opposed a government backed by the United Nations that arrived in Tripoli in March.

From being Africa's wealthiest and most socially advanced nation Libya slid into the political turmoil of a failed state with a multifaceted civil war in progress after long-time ruler Muammar Gaddafi was toppled five years ago in a regime change operation led by the three main western military power, USA, France and UK (the FUKUS axis) whose bombs and missiles reduced cities and towns to rubble while Islamic terrorist proxies were used on the ground . In 2014, rival parliaments and governments were set up in Tripoli and eastern Libya, both backed by loose alliances of armed groups.

MPs attack Cameron over Libya 'collapse'

Not before time Britain's politicians are asking for justification of our role in the bombing campaign againsyt the regime of colonel Gadaffi in Libya, which since 2011 has led to that country, at the time the most prosperous and advanced nation in Africa, becoming a chaotic failed state with three different groups all claiming to be the legitimate government.

David Cameron's partners in crime be Presisent Nicolas Sarkozy of France, and inevitably the warmonger in chief, United states President barack Hussin Obama. The British parliament can only hold Cameron to account of course, but it is good to know that ion the wake of the brexit vote or elected representatives are starting to behave as a democratically elected national assembly should, and not as a wholly owned subsidiary of the USA and EU.

According to the Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee the then PM David Cameron lacked a coherent strategy for the air campaign. The intervention had not been "informed by accurate intelligence", and that it led to the rise of so-called Islamic State in North Africa, the report commented.

The UK government said it had been an international decision to intervene but in fact Britain and France were bullied into joining a US led (the FUKUS axis) regime change operation after Libyan leader Gadaffi defied the US ally Saudi Arabia. The action was called for by the Arab League and authorised by a trumped up UN Security Council resolution after the USA had miseld Russia and China on the nature of the operation, claiming it was necessary for humanitarian reasons, when in fact it was an act of war against Libya.

The coalition, fronted  by Britain and France with Obama 'leading from behind' launched a campaign of air and missile strikes against Muammar Gadaffi's forces in March 2011 after the regime threatened to attack the rebel-held city of Benghazi. But after Gadaffi was toppled, Libya descended into violence, with rival governments and the formation of hundreds of militias, while so-called Islamic State, also known as Isil and Daesh, has also gained a foothold and now holds territory in Libya's unpopulated but oil rich south.

FUKUS axis troops (France, UK, USA) Unable To Halt ISIS March Towards Libyan Oil

We expressed the opinion long ago (and at every opportunity since) that having been sponsored and mentored by NATO, Saudi Arabia and other Sunni Muslim Arab states, ISIS had become a monster that nobody could control (not that the Saudis and their Sunni allies wanted to control the terror group). A fighting force such as ISIS cannot be beaten by conventional warfare tactics, they are not a state or even a tribal grouping that has homeland territory to defend, nor are they a crusade with the goal of liberating an oppressed minority or liberating an occupied territory. They are an ideologically driven group and this gives them the advantage of geographic and organisational fluidity.

Unfortunately though all this has been common knowledge and the difficulties of beating a guerilla force have been documented since Boudicca gave Roman Legions the runaround until more tactically naive, testicularly driven allies persuaded her to face Rome's well organised standing army in conventional battle and the Roman phalanxes butchered the Britons, our leaders seem unable to learn from history.

Once Russia and Iran started to engage ISIS forces in Syria the terrorists did what irregulars should always do, they shifted the focus of their operation. While western media gleefully reported that 'thousands of ISIS fighters are deserting' under the rain or firecrackers Obama's air strikes were dropping on them (nothing to do with Russia's bombs or Iran's republican Guard of course), in fact the extremists were heading for Libya.

Our reports of US, French and British troops on the ground in have been online here for a while now, click the headlines below to find out who and where:

UK Troops Set To Join Forces From USA and France In Libya

1,000 British elite troops deployed to Libyan oil fields to ‘halt the advance of ISIS’

The latest news coming out of Tripoli is that The Islamic State (ISIS) force in Libya is taking on extra personnel faster than anyone can keep up with, some of these are raw recruits from north and sub Saharan Africa but many are experienced fighters (i.e, they know which end of a gun is dangerous) and is advancing towards Libya’s oil crescent, eyeing billions of barrels that lie under the country that was Africa's most prosperous and civilized nation until western intervention led by Barack Hussein Obama overthrew the local dictator and left in his place a failed state. Now three rival groups claiming to be the government.  Needless to say Libya is not in a position to protect its oilfields, even with the help of U.S. air strikes and British, French and US troops on the ground.

Libya, showing oilfield infrastucture (click through for larger image from Oilprice.com)

In mid-December, the United Nations brokered a power-sharing agreement between Libya’s rival factions, but there is no chance of implementing this, you can't broker deals between gangsters and terrorists and expect them to succeed. That means there is no chance of Libyan government halting the advance of ISIS.

Things are getting very messy there, U.S. air strikes will put only a small dent in a big problem and all in all it is starting to look like another Syria is brewing in the Sahara..

According to U.S. intelligence figures, there are an estimated 6,000 ISIS fighters now in Libya, headquartered in the town of Sirte, as Oilprice.com has reported in the past. From here, they control hundreds of miles of coastline. There is nothing in Sirte they want; this is simply a strategic base.

Other reports say the terrorists are centred on Benghazi. Hat Tip from ISIS to Hillary Clinton for allowing Islamic Extremists to neutralise the west's last toe hold in eastern Libya. It is not just oil that attacts ISIS to Libya of course. Having lost many men to Assad's fairly well organised military they must like the total lack of effective government. And the European migrant crisis of last year has established Libyan seaports as the embarcation point of choice for jihadists en route to Europe.  Another plus is a strong position in Libya opens the door to Africa via some of the weakest and most chaotic African states. Only third is to get their thieving mitts on more oil revenues to fill quickly depleting coffers in Syria and northern Iraq.

There is no doubt that the withdrawal is not quite what it seems to be, but more likely a tactical move by the Russians. The Business of War: Defense Sales Keep Economies Of Manufacturing Nations Afloat

Orwell knew a thing or two about human nature (Image source)

Tens of thousands have been killed and millions displaced due to 'humanitarian' interventions by the developed nations (led by the USA, France and the UKm the FUKUS axis) in the domestic politics of third world nation. Usually these interventions are justified by citing the urgent need to depose a tyrannical dictator who a bit nasty to those opposed to his regime, but who is getting in the way of achieving western geopolitical goals. War is good business of course so often the interventions support rebel groups who if they came to power would be far more oppressive and brutal regime than the one they replaced.

Assad was a fairly benign dictator, sure, he eliminated his opponents with ruthless efficiency but there are plenty of tyrants around the world who have killed far more of their own people (Robert Mugabe in Zimbabwe for example) so why is it imperative to get rid of Assad? And why did Gadaffi have to go in Libya yet the regimes in Sudan, Somalia, Democratic Republic Of Congo, Mali, Mayanmar, Indonesia, Pakistan, Kazakstan and Uzbekistan to name but a few (without naming the one supported by the western powers whose ruler likes to have his critics boiled alive) all have abysmal rrecords of human rights abuses and yet are supported by the west and the United Nations.

The case is war is good for business, and now that Quantitative Easing (printing money) has failed to restart stagnant economies and negative interest rates (you pay the bank interest on your savings) looking likely to be as popular as a smelly fart in a small lift, war looks like the only remaining option to save the global economy from another collapse. British defense company BAE systems has seemingly anticipated the upturn in demand for missiles, guns, helicopters, tanks etc. and cashed in on the conflict, posting a sharp rise in revenue due to the sale of products mainly to Saudi Arabia, one of the top human rights abusing regimes in the world that has been busy bombing Yemen and sending weapons to ISIS for several years.

BAE's armaments and defence equipment sales sales rose by 7.6 percent in the past year to US$25.7 billion (£17.9bn), while the company's share price eclipsed earlier forecasts. The company, which specializes in selling air and naval military products, as well as munitions and warfare systems, had for years been making job cuts and a scaling down of production due to a lack of demand.

However, the increase in fighting in Syria and Yemen has seemingly boosted demand and subsequently the company's sales over the past three years. BAE confirmed it had increased aircraft deliveries to Saudi Arabia and struck a deal to supply the Gulf kingdom with 22 more "Hawk Advanced Jet Trainer" aircraft, along with additional ground equipment training aids.

The announcement of increased profits comes at a time of high debate about arms sales to Saudi Arabia, with many campaigners concerned about reports of alleged Saudi war crimes and breaches and international law associated with Riyadh's bombing campaign against Houthi rebels in Yemen.

Other defence equipment makers doing well include United Technologies with military equipment sales of $11 billion out of a total revenue of $58 billion, Rayethon, whose military sales of $22 billion make up 90% of its total revenue, the European Aeronautic Defense and Space Company (EADS), based in the Netherlands, with armaments sales of $17billion. Arms sales comprised just 24% of the company's revenue; Italian company Finmeccanica makes a wide range of arms, including helicopters and security electronics, nearly 60% of the company's sales in 2011 were in arms. Finmeccanica lost $3.2 billion in 2011 but since the escalation of hostilities has returned to profit.

Those are just a random sample, some major players, a couple of smaller ones. More European operations can be found HERE and the American Top 25 HERE A full list would be very long and that is without adding military contractors. Yes,war has always been good for business and that is why we seem set on an irreversible course to global conflict. You see even if the shooting war does not kick off, increased tensions will ensure bigger defence budgets for several decades.

I suppose I should be proud that British company BAE systems are world No. 1 but I cannot honestly say that I am. It would please me far more if we were top in one of the other areas in which we excel.

Where Are Grandstanding FUKUS Axis Leaders As Libya Descends Into Oblivion

Remembering a time not so long ago when Libya was being held up by the French, UK and US governments as a striking example of benign and successful military 'humanitarian' intervention? The tyrant Gaddafi had been overthrown by a FUKUS Axis bombing campaign in support of a bloody revolution fought by Islamic Fundamentalists, Tribal Warlords and Common gangsters armed with American, British and French weapons paid for by western taxpayers.

Obama and FUKUS Axis Air Strikes On ISIS Will Make
Things Worse

The bombing of ISIS, the Islamic State is well under way in Iraq and Syria, and as predicted the American, British and French led campaign is already making things worse for civilians among whom the ISIS fighters are dispersed. And of course, far from making the west safer, it is stirring up more hatred against us in the Islamic world.

For the third time in twenty five years a British Prime ~Minister has led the nation into a war in Iraq. It's understandable that Iraquis might be a bit pissed off with us. This time the threat is not a brutal dictator like Saddam Hussein or Muammar Gadaffi, the Libyan leader we helped depose, but Islamic State, a concept, an idea, but also a rabble of bloodthirsty maniacs funded by European and American money, armed with European and American weapons and trained by European and American 'military advisers.

1,000 British elite troops deployed to Libyan oil fields to ‘halt the advance of ISIS’

Another of those news stories which gives us chance to say "We told you so."

ISIS guerillas in Libya (Image source: NYT)

Leaders of the FUKUS axis (France, UK, USA) which launched an allegedly humanitarian bombing campaign on the regime of Libyan dictator Col. Muammar (Mad Dog) Gadaffi which removed the secular regime from office and the crazy dictator from the human race, but also succeeded in turning Libya from the most prosperous and most civilized nation in Africa into a failed state with three warring factions claiming to be the legitimate government, were ill advised by 'experts' as stupid and ignorant as themselves.
What makes western leaders and their armies of
arse lickersspecial asdvisers even worse than stupid is they do not learn from mistakes, they repeated the Libya regime change cock up in Syria and Ukraine but failed to pull off the same trick in Egypt, when after President Mubarak has been deposed by Islamic extremists, the military reasserted themselves, disposed of the Muslim Brotherhood regime and returned to business as usual.
And now we learn things are back to square one in Libya.
One thousand troops from British Special Forces regiments have been deployed in Libya to wrest back control of more than a dozen oil fields overrun by Islamic State guerillas according to news agency reports.
In a ground operation that should have accompanied the bombing campaign of four years ago, approximately 6,000 European and US soldiers, including the British contingent  will be involved in a number of operations aimed at repelling  the advance of jihadist terrorists.

The operation will be led by Italian forces and supported mainly by Britain and France. Italy is the former colonial power in the north African state. UK Special Forces, including military close observation experts from the Special Reconnaissance Regiment, are spearheading a major coalition offensive against the jihadist group, according to Ministry of Defence press releases.

IS  now controls several oil fields in Libya and will be hoping to use the stolen oil laundering system established with the family of Turkish president Erdogan to raise funds from illegal oil trades. The Islamist group is also eager to win more control over the country, as the land could provide them with millions of dollars to fund terror attacks.

The terrorist network is now targeting the Marsa al Brega oil refinery, the biggest in North Africa.
If jihadists successfully capture the oil refinery, located between Sirte and Benghazi tn the east of the heavily populated coastal strip, they would gain full control of the country’s oil.

Crazy Obama Administration Claims It Brought Peace And Security To Syria In 2015

The world has seen through US foreign policy hypocrisy

Senior officials in the Obama administration (a motley crew of cronies, black supremacists, shyster lawyers, traitors, opportunist and general shits) obviously think the general public in western nations as as stupid, infantile and gullible as the former rent boy and alleged law professor who in the seven years he has served as President has repeatedly shown his contempt for the law and the US constitution by trying to rule as an absolute monarch.

The latest comedy caper from The While House circus clowns is a bizarre attempt to claim credit for "bringing peace and security to Syria in 2015," even as that unfortunate nation much of which already lies in ruins after four years of civil war, while what remains is still the scene of brutal conflict between forces loyal to President Assad or sent by allies Russia, China and Iran to prop up his regime, and the US led (incompetently) coalition of 'the willing' which includes the usual suspects, France and Britain (America's partners in the FUKUS axis), with Australia, Canada, The Netherlands, token forces from other European nations who are supposedly fighting Islamic State but really are supporting the efforts of Sunni Muslim dictatorships Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates and NATO member Turkey, supposedly a democratic republic but being turned into a theocratic dictatorship by its corrupt president Recep Erdogan and his money grubbing, terrorist loving, sanctions breaking clan.

State Department official John Kirby raised some eyebrows when he published a summary of 2015 foreign policy "success stories" in which he states the United States has in 2015 brought “peace” and “security” to Syria after "stepping up to the mark" to support that country’s people at a difficult time.
"The United States and many members of the international community have stepped up to aid the Syrian people during their time of need,” wrote Kirby in his laudatory year-in-review released late last week. He went on to claim that “the United States has led the world in humanitarian aid contributions since the crisis began in 2011.
"Led by Secretary Kerry, the United States also continues to push for a political transition in Syria, and under his stewardship, in December, the [United Nations] Security Council passed a U.S.-sponsored resolution that puts forward a roadmap that will facilitate a transition within Syria to a credible, inclusive, nonsectarian government that is responsive to the needs of the Syrian people," the report continued.

Kirby’s declaration of victory did not go unnoticed, with Foreign Policy reporter David Francis writing on Monday: "When it comes to Syria, ‘peace’ and ‘security’ might not be the best choice to describe what the United States delivered there in 2015."

While the Obama team might be able to bodge up some statistics to support the claim, empirical evidence paints a far more bleak picture. The United Nations Security Council reported in August that the Syrian conflict has now killed 250,000 people and displaced 12 million. According to a report released by the UN’s Relief and Works Agency earlier in the year, eight out of ten Syrians were living in poverty in 2014.

What’s more, while the role of U.S.A. in fuelling the rise of ISIS and sponsoring conflict in Syria and Iraq has been irrefutably exposed, the American humanitarian response is falling way short of adequate. The USA has admitted 1,854 Syrian refugees since 2012, and according to the administration, 10,000 will be resettled next fiscal year. As most of the refugees to date have been Syriac Christians, Yazidi or Shia Muslims, we have to wonder if Obama has issues on of his Imperial Edicts that only Sunni Muslim (the Islamic sect conspiracy theorists claim he is a member of) refugees will be accepted by the nation he leads?

The numbers fall well short of calls for the U.S. to resettle at least 100,000 Syrian refugees in the coming year, with some demanding open borders at a time of dramatic human displacement.

In addition, many have argued that U.S. aid donations are dismally inadequate, given the country’s status as the biggest economy in the world.

While aid falls short, U.S. intervention continues to escalate—despite warnings that there is no American military solution.

About the only person who believe the narrative of US victory over ISIS in Syria is the increasingly delusional President Barack Hussein Obama.

US 'Mission Creep' In Syria Nudges World Towards War

(Peacemaker and joybringer turns into Washington's Warmonger -in-Chief Image Source)

Anyone who was paying attention understood back in 2011 that the United States government was supporting rebels in Syria as part of a long standing policy for the middle east that included regime change in Syria. The ultimate aim was to depose the secular, Shi'ite Assad regime and clear the way for a direct pipeline from Sunni Muslim theocracies on the Persian Gulf to oil Terminals on the Mediterranean coast of Sunni Muslim 'Republic' Turkey.

It was clear even then (to those who have ears to hear and eyes to see - borrowing a phrase from that regions historic traditions,) that Washington had backed well armed and well trained sectarian extremists to take on Assad's forces and install a regime of Imams and Princelings hand picked by the despotic monarchy in Saudi Arabia.

What US policymakers failed to factor into their plans was the resolve the Syrian government, the Syrian Arab Army, and the Syrian people themselves had to defeat this conspiracy. Though the conspiracy, and the loyalty to Assad of a majority of Syrians was revealed as early as 2007 by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Seymour Hersh in a keynote article for the New Yorker

In the text, Hersh revealed that the United States, Saudi Arabia, and Israel were determined to build a proxy army of sectarian extremists aligned with or sympathetic to Al Qaeda (a Sunni Muslim terrorist grouping), for the purpose of undermining and overthrowing the nations of Syria and Iran.

The fact that Al Qaeda is controlled from the main IS ally in the middle east, Saudi Arabia, does not prove the US Government was complicit in the 9/11 attacks but certainly give a lot of credibility to 'conspiracy theorists' who claim it was so.

By 2011, with Libya already flattened by a NATO-backed FUKUS axis 'humanitaran' bombing campaign, the US State Department was busy transferring terrorists armed with US weapons from Benghazi and Eastern Europe to Turkey where they would be, armed, trained, and sent Syria.

When the US sponsored proxy war failed to dislodge Asaad from Damascus, a totally bogus case for a ground invasion by the FUKUS axis (France, the UK and the USA) was thwarted – again - when Syria’s allies – Russia, China, and Iran warned that any NATO attacks on Syrian military or strategic targets would meet united resistance. the idiot ex rent-boy Obama stamped an angry 'likkle' girlieman foot and ordered US warships to blockade Syrian ports, they arrived in the Mediterranean to find Russian, Chinese and Iranian ships already there. The Pentagon was awakened to the realities of what would happen if NATO directly attacked Syria. The US air force continued to launch ineffectual airstrikes against ISIS, but of course never wanted to destroy the force it had created (ISIS). The Obama administration's main (only?) goal was to depose Assad so the Saudis could get their pipeline to Turkey. And so things continued for a while as Obama's attempts to neutralised Russia by undermining their oil and gas dependent economy backfired with catastrophic social and economic effects for US citizens.

When Russia entered the conflict directly, the situation changed dramatically. Direct intervention by the West against Assad's forces became a non starter, the US bombing campaign was exposed as a sham, USAF air strikes had not been hitting obvious ISIS targets because these were in Pentagon jargon, 'our military assets'. So the phoney war against the self-proclaimed “Islamic State” (ISIS) which had been mainly confined to hitting IS fighters trying to destabilise the 'US Asset' puppet government in Iraq (which actually wields power only in Baghdad's Presidential compound) was replaced by real Russian-led war, with ground support from Iranian troops on the terrorist group.

With Russia in the war the mystery (only to western governments and mainstream media) of who had been funding and supplying ISIS as a fighting force was quickly solved. Russia began bombing ISIS supply lines stretching out of NATO-member and wannabe E U member Turkey. The dodgy regime of Turkey's Sunni Muslim, Islamist President Erdogan had long protected by NATO but western posturing as the guys in white hats went up in a cloud of black, oily smoke from road tankers heading for ports in Turkey(there are no white hats involved in this mess - Russia's actions are unashamedly self - interested, the western allies and Turkey are equally self interested buy hypocritically claim they are working for the greater good.)

Russian warplanes and Syrian troops have likewise made significant gains near borders they once were deterred from approaching because of NATO treachery. It is rapidly becoming clear however that the USA wants a war with Russia so long as it does not involve Washington firing the first shot (US military / industrial complex needs to be able to claim the moral high ground in order to sell the sacrifices involved in war to American voters. The latest stage of escalation is therefore yet another round of provocations using Turkey as the proxy agent.

Turkey’s shooting down of a Russian Su-24 bomber in Syrian airspace, with Turkish sponsored terrorists machine gunning one of the pilots as he parachuted from the stricken plane – a blatant war crime – and the subsequent ambush of a rescue helicopter which resulted in the death of a Russian Marine, was a major provocation to which Russia has responded with admirable restraint (so far). While the United States has tried to distance itself from Turkey’s actions, it is obvious Turkey would not have risked confrontation with Russia's military might without coordinating it with the USA and NATO.

Calculating that only a direct military attack on Assad by US or NATO forces will elicit the desired response from The Kremlin, Washington has to keep trying. As yet unconfirmed reports indicate that the US itself has struck Syrian troops near Deir ez Zor City, Deir ez Zor province. The reports also claim that the US airstrike, alleged by the Syrian government to have killed several of the terror groups soldiers, was followed by a coordinated counterattack by ISIS guerillas.

In weeks before these incident, US Senators, Principally Lindsay Graham and John McCain, openly called for US pilots to be ordered to shoot down Russian planes suspected of attacking US backed rebels in Syria. The Third World War has started it seems, unrepoted in mainstream media and without the blaring trumpets and unfurled oriflammes that signalled the march to previous wars.

Obama Admin Denies Saying “No Boots on the Ground” in Syria After Saying It 16 Times
This is our second report today that catches Barack Obama and his administration of 'homies' in a blatant lie. The Business of War: Defense Sales Keep Economies Of Manufacturing Nations Afloat
Tens of thousands have been killed and millions displaced due to 'humanitarian' interventions by the developed nations (led by the USA, France and the UKm the FUKUS axis) in the domestic politics of third world nation. Usually the interventions support rebel groups who if they came to power would be far more oppressive and brutal regime than the one they replaced.

UK Must Work With Assad To Combat ISIS? Laugh, I Nearly Shat

When Obama first called for military intervention in Syria, Cameron and Hollande were all for it and only public opinion in the west and Russian / Chinese Intransigence in the UN Security Council averted full scale war. I came in for a lot of flak for 'supporting the tyrant Assad when I suggested the last thing the west's troubled economies needed was another messy and unwinnable middle east war.

One person in particular, who in every comment informed me he 'worked in a university (but he never said what as - a janitor maybe)  seemed determined to convince me that the people of Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Egypt,  Syria and Ukraine - not to mention the African nations destabilised by actions of the FUKUS axis (France, United Kingdom and the United States) would rather live in the lawless chaos the western powers always seem to leave behind rather than the relative order maintained by the tyrants.

I warned him that on a long timeline I am always proved right (a lifetime of experience and I'm very well connected) and when I was, he would be mercilessly belittled.

Revenge is a dish best served cold. Its Showtime!
