Leaked WhatsApp Messages On Lockdowns And COVID Restrictions Show Government's Contempt For The Public

 It was inevitable that the truth about the COVID pandemic having been a hoax, an elaborate and well organised exercise in mass manipulation and control must emerge. There have been rumblings for months of course, Big Pharma whistleblowers and research biologists whose well informed opinions were silence by censorship and the howling of the mob are now finding a platform to reveal that they counselled against lockdowns, the fast tracked approvals of improperly tested, experimental vaccines, doctors who lost their jobs for treating COVID with quinine and ivermectin have revealed the pressures that were put on them to comply with the official narrative and public health officials have admitted they were ignored when they warned against social restrictions.

And now the once unsayable 'conspiracy theory' that could land people in jail for speadeing 'misinformation, the story that the virus was man made and leaked from a biolweapons laboratory in Wuhan, China, where scientists funded by the United States Defence Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA,) were working on 'gain-of-function projects to tu rn previously innocuous infective agents into something more deadly is acknowledged to have been true.

But the real killer blow, the proof that the whole episode was never about public health but was entirely political in its motivation, has been the leaking of thousands of Whats App messages exchanged between elected and salaried members of the British government which show the utter contempt in which our political masters hold We The People.

When the story broke in the Telegraph last week that 100,000 WhatsApp messages from Matt Hancock had been leaked (in the public interest,) by a journalist named Isabel Oakeshott, I must admit I was sceptical as is my habit when processing information from mainstream media. Who could look through 100,000 messages involving the former Health Secretary Matt (shagger) Hancock in such a short time without dying of boredom. But Information Technology, when used properly, is a wonderful thing and a keyword search on 100,000 documents would take only seconds.

And boy, were there some juicy bits among the dross.

The spectacle that followed publication, as Isabel Oakeshott was on TV and radio explaining why she had, according to Hancock, breached their agreement. There were endless threads of confusing messages about Covid and Hancock’s campaign of self-promotion,Boris Johnson holding naked orgies in the Downing street garden (OK, I made that bit up,) and a crowd of characters fighting and finger jabbing all over the airwaves. But somewhere in all the accusations and denials the stories and the key threads, began to emerge.

The main thing that strikes one is how dismissively the people who sent those messages talk about the rest us, the general population, the taxpayers who pay the wages of ministers, advisers and senior officials. The tone flips from arrogant, glib, menacing and contemptuous. There is shameless talk of scaring us into compliance with fascistic measures through a campaign of lies and scare srories. There is glee and amusement when people are harassed for trivial breaches of COVID restrictions by over - zealous plod squads who would be nowhere to be seen is real crimes were being committed, or trapped in quarantine hotels, or caught out by the ridiculously draconian and as many experts would have warned had their voices not been silenced by censors, ineffective rules imposed by ministers. It is as though we are naughty children who had to be punished because we distracted our elders and betters from pursuit of their power grabbing agendas. There’s a whiff of Dickens and the 19th century orphanage about the worst of the messages. 

And all the time, in private, they carried on with theireveryday lives, loves and illicit affairs.

 

 

The decisions to shut schools for such long periods, with an obvious impact on the mental health of the young, and the quite mad order to make children wear masks in class, are discussed by some of the participants as though they are a political game, a kind of 'if we can make them do this we can get away with anything attitude. Cabinet ministers who expressed concerns about the impact of the assorted measures are dismissed as ideologues, and dismissed as ministers soon afterwards.

Missing in these monstrous exchanges is parliament or fear of parliament, which is supposed to be our guardian against government overreach and abuse of power. To their eternal shame of MPs, they cravenly allowed the institution to be all but shut down by the state, and replaced with performative Zoom calls. Only a few of our elected representatives objected and demanded oversight.

But then we the public, or a majority, asked for it. The creepy authoritarianism, enforced by propaganda, public information briefings and strict policing, was popular at the time and it still is. His Majesty's Loyal opposition, The Labour Party, far from opposing the government's lurch into fascism instead responded to every oppressive measure by demanding even more stringent oppression. Amazingly recent opinion polls suggested only 19% of voters think the government’s handling of Covid was too strict. Some 37% think it was not strict enough and 34% about right. One shudders to imagine what a more strict and controlling regime would have looked like. Communist China? Nazi Germany? Stalinist Russia?

What should concern us is now the power addicts know how far they can go, what will happen next time, We know there will be more diseases and another pandemic at some point because the billionaire psychopath and self - apponited global vaccine Czar, Bill Gates is openly talking about planning it. Such is the pace of technological change, in computing, data collection and AI that the next time it happens the state will have even more power than the current crop of crooks and liars had. During Covid a majority of the British public liked this life by QR code, mediated (we now know thanks to the leaked WhatsApp messages) by squabbling, out of control politicians who cratered the economy and added hundreds of billions of pounds to the national debt pile, left to be dealt with later by future generations.

The lesson here is surely that MPs and concerned citizens need to act to defend freedom. I have said for years that we should outlaw centrally controlled political parties and corporate donors because it is too easy for such organisations to coerce elected representative to act in the interests of the party and its financial backers rather than in the interests of their constituents. I’m not holding my breath, although perhaps some senior MPs and campaigners will see the need to campaign for freedom and proper parliamentary oversight of the state in the next crisis.

“No one must ever ask where another rabbit was, and anyone who asked ‘Where?’ – must be silenced.”

In the story Watership Down a group of rabbits flee their home warren of Sandleford, ahead of its imminent destruction at the hands of real estate developers. They set out looking for a safe, new home and among their adventures they encounter another warren called Cowslip. There, all the rabbits are uncharacteristically large, affable and seemingly well fed. For awhile, the Sandleford rabbits think they’ve found a safe haven.

There’s only one problem: every once in awhile one of the the rabbits goes missing. It turns out the entire warren is on a farmer’s land who feeds and otherwise takes care of them, but then sets out snares and traps them from time to time for their pelts.

There is only one rule at Cowslip’s Warren, nobody is allowed to ask or talk about any of the missing rabbits.

I want everybody reading this to think of two numbers from asking you two questions:

Question #1) How many people do you know who died of COVID?

I first started hearing rumblings of a new Coronavirus emerging out of China in January 2020 (although it looks now like COVID was already circulating throughout the world by mid-2019).

When I got wind of it, I was emailing friends and colleagues to get N95 masks and to stock up on groceries and medications. It looked bad. By February I was probably one of the first people seen around town wearing an N95 mask. In March I started running a spreadsheet using R0, fatality rates and case-doubling times that were coming out of the CDC, the WHO, and shrieking hysterics like Eric Feigl-Ding:

The screen grab above is the famous “Holy Mother Of God” tweet, which is sometimes speculated as having rang the bell beginning the global COVID panic. Feigl-Ding refers to it himself as a seminal moment, and he’s also since deleted the tweet. It is archived here.

When it was all unfolding, I was initially afraid. My rough model posited that by the end of May we’d have 442,368 cases with as many as 22,118 fatalities and that was just in Toronto. By the end of July, 1.7 million cases and 88,473 fatalities.

I laid out previously what happened and what turned me into a lockdown skeptic: every day I’d plug in the new case and fatality numbers from the city, the province and federal levels and by the end of May I realized that my model was bust. By fall I knew that case numbers were bullshit (it didn’t matter how many people tested positive on a PCR test) and that lockdowns were a bigger problem than the virus.

It is highly unlikely that We The People will ever really know what went on the the cabinet room at No. 10 Downing Street in the run up to the nation being put in lockdown as pandemic panic gripped the nation in the spring of 2020.  One of the problems with our system of government, "the cabinet system" is that members of the Cabinet, the Prime Minister's inner circle of senior ministers are, as a condition of holding heir position, required to support decisions made 'in cabinet' by that inner circle regardless of their personal feelings on the issue.  And it seems most people in Boris Johnson's cabinet during the run up to the disastrous and entirely ineffective lockdowns were kept in the dark about many things, including the fact that 'The Science' on which lockdown policy was based was not science at all, there was absolutely no empirical evidence that lockdowns, mask mandates or social distancing laws wouls do anything to slow or halt the spread of the SARS-COV2 virus. Government was effectively reduced to a “quad” of ministers and their dodgy 'scientific advisers' deciding on Britain’s future. Rishi Sunak, an unfancied contender in the current race to succeed the discredited Johnson and at that time Chancellor of the Exchequer was one of them. There were rumours at the time that Sunak was horrified at much of what was going on, and repeatedly warned that lockdowns would inflict economic damage that was likely to endure for decades. Unfortunately due to the principle of collective cabinet responsibility, resign and speak out or stay in post and fight the pseudoscientific insanity from a position of power.

His speaking out now  he is no longer chancellor and his bid to replace Boris Johnson as Conservative Party leader and Prime Minister of the nation has fallen victim to a backlash from the party rank and file because he is perceived as the man who stappped Boris in the back, confirms much of what many have suspected. The culture of fear created by pandemic scaremongering, and the Orwellian macinations of Boris and his unelected globalist cronies in collusion with mainstream media, that was usded so effectively to terrify the nation, was not 'led by science' as the official narrative claimed, but instead was pat of a hiddden agenda. 

Questioning lockdown, even behind locked doors in cabinat meetings, was seen as an attack on the Prime Minister’s authority. To ask even basic questions – about how many extra cancer deaths there might be, for example – was to risk being portrayed as one the crackpots, the “Cov-idiots”, people who wanted to “let the virus rip”. Fascism had taken hold in the heart of Whitehall.

To maintain the illusion that our individual freedoms and civil rights were being stolen from us in order that we could be protected from a 'deadly' disease that did not kills many people meant elevating the corrupt SAGE (Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies,) committee to the status of a mini-government: don’t blame us, ministers wanted to say, we’re just following the best scientific advice. For that reason, there never was an economic or a social analysis of the damage the government's pandemic policies were doing to economically and to communities, a see-no-evil policy applied. Which worked, until the aftershock of lockdown began – with the evil there for all to see.

Lockdown, Sunak says, was always a political decision but No 10 wanted to dress it up as “following the science”. There may be some truth in this but also there is a lot of evidence that the decision was made not by politicians but by outside influences such as the WEF, the World Health Organisation (WHO), billionaire psychopath Bill Gates who funded the mathematical modelling project that predicted 500,000 excess deaths in UK during the first wave of COVID and the pharmaceutical corporations that own so many scientists and universities, vast swathes of the media and that manufactured the vaccines that were so bad the manufacturers warned they would not make people immune to the disease. This was a conspiracy at the highest level. And remember this nightmare was being enacted not just  in the U.K. it’s tentacles reached into just about every Western government from Canada to NZ the US to France, Italy, Germany, Australia etc.. All these leaders reciting the same mantras over and over. Remember Build, Back, Better?

Funny how all these governments are now desperately rushing through their own versions of censorship bills to prevent free and open discussion of the COVID scandals. They claim they want to fight mis and disinformation. No they want to save their own arses, the status quo and do everything in their power to stop the truth from getting out.

This matters because it’s not about the Tory leadership. Sunak now stands almost no chance: the race is nearly over with most votes cast. Polls show Liz Truss ahead on a two-to-one ratio. Nor is it about score-settling: Sunak spoke to the media on the understanding that he was not naming “the guilty men”. He wanted speak on record about the process (or lack thereof) because he thinks that candour will help correct mistakes for next time. People who think a General Election in which the Conservatives would almost certainly be defeated is going to solve anything need to remind themselves that throughout the pandemic crisis The Labour Party only offered by way of opposition to the government's fascistic measures only demands for more oppressive measures, stricter policing of COVID restrictions and stiffer punishments for those who did not obey.

It is to be hoped Sunak will be the first of many to speak out, because, whether you share his political affiliation or not, he has revealed that our system of government is Not Fit For Purpose. As one Cabinet minister commented on the atmosphere in government yesterday: “It wasn’t just Rishi. I needed my own network of spies to find out what was happening in lockdown, because we were never told.” 

If this is what was going on, if there was no proper Cabinet scrutiny, if it’s true that no overall cost-benefit analysis of lockdown was ever seriously attempted, it points to a collapse in basic standards of government. At a time when high standards and rigorous analysis was most needed.

As least now there can be denying that having voted ourselves out of the authoritarian bureaucratic dictatorship of the EU, we have been delivered by Boris Johnson and a bunch of unelected bureaucrats into the hands of an even worse tyranny, the wannabe world government of the United Nations and its agencies.

 

 

The epitaph of The Johnson regime can therefore be found towards the end of G K Chesterton's poem The Secret People:

"They have given us into the hand of new unhappy lords,
Lords without anger or honour, who dare not carry their swords.
They fight by shuffling papers; they have bright dead alien eyes;
They look at our labour and laughter as a tired man looks at flies.
And the load of their loveless pity is worse than the ancient wrongs,
Their doors are shut in the evening; and they know no songs."

But we ordinary punters can take heart from the poem's opening lines:
"Smile at us, pay us, pass us; but do not quite forget;
For we are the people of England, that never have spoken yet."

All we have to do is sack the establishment parties Labour, Conservative and Lib Dem, they've all sold us out at some point,  whenever you have the chance vote for anybody but their representatives, and destroy the elected dictatorship.

The truth about Britain’s Covid deaths

In view of the hysterical repoting from mainstream media in print and broadcast news formats about the recently released report from The World Health Organisation containing estimates of Covid-related deaths internationally during the pandemic, one could be forgiven for suspecting we are all dead and nobody bothered to tell us. The measurement used to crank up the fear and panic generator to eleve has been the decidedly dodgy 'excess deaths' which is the difference between the number who died of all causes during the pandemic and the number who, on average, died in that period of the year and geopolitical region before the pandemic struck. This enabled sceptics to make comparisons between the British figures and excess deaths for the rest of Europe per 100,000 of the population. And when this blog and other people who have done so crunched the numbers it turns out The UK is not, after all, at the top of the death-league by miles because we all died, some of us several times. In fact the UK sits around the middle of the European excess deaths Champions League.

This is similar to the outcome when, a few weeks ago, the UK Office of National sStatistics (ONS) revealed that around 19.2 million people in ENGLAND alone (i.e. not the whole UK,) have not had a single shot of the non vaccine that does not protect anyone from COVID but appears to make them more vulnerable. The propaganda put out by governments and dutifully parroted by television news and the papers that only 3 million ignorant, irresponsible people continued to pose a threat to the (vaccinated) majority by refusing a single dose of the clotshot.

Though the methodology used to compile the report has attracted serious criticism from neutral statisticians, what really struck most of us alt_news sceptics has, predictably, been ignored by authors of any of the media reports and commentaries on the report I’ve seen, which have all focused on our outcome relative to those of other European countries. We did better than Italy, Spain and Germany but worse than France (but can the cheese eating surrender monkeys' figures be trusted?) when throughout the pandemic media reports had been spun to create the impression that we were doing exceptionally badly.

What's really interesting however, is while we are not much different to most of our near European neighbours, Italy, Germany and Spain, for example, had excess deaths respectively of 133, 116, and 111 per 100,000. Britain’s figure was 109. Even the United States was only 140, just ahead of Italy. Differences in the way countries counted or how they defined excess deaths could easily account for the variations in numbers. When we look at the figures a from a different angle, firstly, it is difficult to spot any obvious correlation between the pandemic--suppressing measures taken by different members of the WHO, and the outcomes in terms of excess mortality. This suggests we should have been more suspicious about the measures imposed by governments (lockdowns, mask mandates, travel restrictions etc.) as on the strength of available evidence that none had been successful, which is what epidemiologists who did not have a financial relationship with the companies that make up the Big Pharma Cartel, the World Heath Organisation, national governments or the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the philanthropic charity that has made $£€billions out of the pandemic, had predicted.

Mask-wearing was far less common in Sweden than in Britain, yet we had twice as many excess deaths, though most Swedes live in urban environments, like us. There’s a strong case for serious and exhaustive study of the role of masks, and of the harm they may have caused particularly to people with respiratory problems. We should be demanding that before such measures as mandatory making and lockdowns are imposed again there are controlled trials involving the study of human volunteers. There seems to be some kind of academic horror at this kind of scientific rigour, the sciencetits who rather worhip their mathematical models of a human population, a virus and a pandemic..

Many of us among the 19.2 million vaccine refusniks lost confidence in health advice from doctors, government agencies and media 'experts' a long time ago because it was established in proper scientific trials years ago that surface contact (touching stuff) does not constitute a a significant risk of contracting a virus. In spite of this official advice on washing out hands and using sanitizers rich in carcinogenic chemicals has not been corrected, there remain (at some economic and environmental cost) signs and hand-gel dispensers everywhere, wipes are still being distributed and cleaners are still prancing around dabbing at bannisters and hand-holds. It is a similar story on wearing masks, studies in 2020 showed that the cheap masks handed out everywhere did nothing, zro, zilch, to prevent or slow the spread of COVID and even the more expensive surgical masks had little effect. Yet bot kinds of mask had significant adverse effects relation to non COVID related problems. Why should we believe a government agency, scientific research establishment, academic institution on anything else, if the official advice on this has not changed and they are still pushing these completely ineffective measures and clamouring for more lockdowns which are now known to not only have been an economic disaster but also triggered a pandemic of mental health problems?

Here, though, is the thing that should not have shocked me (because the figures were broadly known) but did (because I did not know them). Some 109 excess deaths per 100,000 in Britain may be twice Sweden’s rate – but it’s still tiny! That’s about one person in a thousand. I had not properly understood how light the casualties have been in the developed world. And though it’s sad when anyone dies at any age, the average Covid-related casualty in Britain has been in the last ten years of his or her expected life, so viewed in terms of years lost the damage is far less severe than that inflicted by epidemics that target the young as well as old.

Yes, yes, ‘one death is one death too many’ etc, and no, I didn’t know these victims personally and if I had I might feel differently. All true enough. But how I feel is not the point. We do need to be able to count. When we count dispassionately we see a pandemic that took relatively few people away. Looking at the past 30 years, the pandemic did cause a sharp year-on-year difference, but there have been others.

Yet in trying to slow its spread (we were honest about that limited ambition, unlike the Australians, New Zealanders, Chinese and South Koreans) we took a two-year wrecking ball to our economy and to the educational and job prospects, not to say the mental health, of millions of our young people.

So, the government of New Normal Germany is contemplating forcing everyone to wear medical-looking masks in public from October to Easter on a permanent basis.

Take a break from the carnage in non-Nazi Ukraine, the show trials in the US congress, monkeypoxmania, Sudden Adult Death Syndrome, Sudden Bovine Death Syndrome, family-oriented drag queens, non-“vaccine”-related facial paralysis, and Biden falling off his bike, and reflect on what this possibly portends, the dominant country of the European Union dispensing with any semblance of democracy and transforming into a fascist biosecurity police state.

Germany is not dispensing with the semblance of democracy. No, the German constitution will remain in effect.

It’s just that the revised Infection Protection Act — like the “Enabling Act of 1933,” which granted the Nazi government the authority to issue any edicts it wanted under the guise of “remedying the distress of the people” — will grant the New Normal German government the authority to continue to supersede the constitution and issue whatever edicts it wants under the guise of “protecting the public health”…for example, forcing the German masses to display their conformity to the new official ideology by wearing medical-looking masks on their faces for six or seven months of every year.

Moscow Warns US In Diplomatic Letter: Arming Ukraine To Result In "Unpredictable Consequences"

Russia sent a formal diplomatic note to the US this week calling on Washington and NATO to stop arming Ukraine. The note, which was obtained by The Washington Post, said the Western campaign to pour weapons into Ukraine was “adding fuel” to the conflict and could lead to “unpredictable consequences.”

The diplomatic note was sent Tuesday, when news broke of a new massive US military aid package for Ukraine. President Biden announced the new aid on Wednesday, which is worth $800 million and includes howitzers for the first time. The package also includes helicopters, armed Switchblade drones, coastal defense drones, armored vehicles, radar systems, and thousands of Stinger and Javelin missiles.

The Russian note was sent to the State Department by the Russian Embassy in Washington. It said the US and its NATO allies were ignoring “rigorous principles” on the transfer of weapons into the conflict zone and said the Western powers are oblivious to “the threat of high-precision weapons falling into the hands of radical nationalists, extremists and bandit forces in Ukraine.”

‘Must never happen again’ Lockdown’s destructive impact on children’s confidence laid bare

BORIS JOHNSON has been warned lockdown "must never happen again" because of its impact on children. 

A new Ofsted report suggests the Government’s response to Covid could have a lasting, negative impact on Britain’s young, who were forced to spend long stretches of some of their most important formative years in social isolation. Yet the Prime Minister has refused to rule out repeating his policy of locking the country down, insisting “there could be a new variant, more deadly” – one that “affects children badly, that we really need to contain”.

Daily Sceptic Editor-in-Chief Toby Young warned this was a mistake given the evidence points to lockdowns doing far more harm than good.

He told Express.co.uk: “Politicians and their scientific advisors placed the entire country under house arrest in March 2020 without giving any thought to the long-term impact on the economy, mental health or children's development. Now we're reaping the whirlwind.

“Lockdowns must never happen again.”

Arabella Skinner, from children’s campaign group UsForThem, added the Government’s approach, and its refusal to rule out further lockdowns, demonstrates “children have never been at the front of the discussion of what the risk is and what the value is”.

She said: “The problems we are seeing now are evidence of that.”

public health agencies such as the CDC and NIH, and television medical experts seem unable to address key health messages that could have a dramatic effect in reducing risk of severe sequelae in higher-risk populations such as the minority and African-American population to the scourge of SARS-CoV-2. 

These agencies and media echo chambers squandered many opportunities to inform the public on simple yet very effective messaging (vitamin D supplementation, obesity control, early treatment etc.) that could have reduced morbidity and saved lives. They continue to. Not just for Covid-19, but for many other illnesses.  

For example, obesity emerged as a potent super-loaded risk factor behind age in the harmful sequelae and a human target for SARS-CoV-2 in most studies, in addition to being elderly, frail and having comorbid conditions. Being younger with comorbid conditions also placed one at risk. 

We knew this data very early on, maybe one month post-March 2020 yet the CDC etc. failed to either read the data, understand the data, or act on the data. It would have behooved our agencies to have addressed these risks in large-scale education programs for the populace and especially by calling for a reduction in body weight and particularly for the minority sub-groups (African-Americans). 

In a similar light, studies showed that vitamin D supplementation for African-Americans has been associated with a lowered risk of severe disease and mortality from SARS-CoV-2. So the evidence was there; just the action by health agencies was absent. 

Early ambulatory outpatient treatment with successful combination and sequenced antiviral agents, corticosteroids, and anti-clotting therapeutics should be used (and should have been used) widely to help the people at risk. The African-American community is aware that “Covid (is) a killer for the obese: like pouring gasoline on top of a fire.” 

Unfortunately, more than two years into the pandemic, the manifest issue of public health education and sound policy decisions remain absent and aloof, given the erratic and confusing responses from the health and governing officials.

Quran Riots in Sweden: Islamic Migrants Violently Seize Control As Police Retreat

Paludan organized demonstrations in some of the country’s most dangerous, immigrant-dense areas, widely considered no-go-zones. These protests, which coincide with the Muslim holiday Ramadan, were to show that Islamic values ​​are not compatible with liberal Swedish society and its freedom of expression and opinion. Sweden’s exploding violent migrant crime rate poses a threat to his neighboring country Denmark, explains Paludan, because of the easy access between Scandinavian countries due to the Nordic Passport Union. The Nordic Passport Union allows illegal migrants in Sweden to easily travel and reside in Denmark without any travel documentation or even a residence permit. How Dangerous Are Masks for Children?

ur public health agencies such as the CDC and NIH, and television medical experts seem unable to address key health messages that could have a dramatic effect in reducing risk of severe sequelae in higher-risk populations such as the minority and African-American population to the scourge of SARS-CoV-2. These agencies and media echo chambers squandered many opportunities to inform the public on simple yet very effective messaging (vitamin D supplementation, obesity control, early treatment etc.) that could have reduced morbidity and saved lives. They continue to. Not just for Covid-19, but for many other illnesses. For example, obesity emerged as a potent super-loaded risk factor behind age in the harmful sequelae and a human target for SARS-CoV-2 in most studies, in addition to being elderly, frail and having comorbid conditions. Being younger with comorbid conditions also placed one at risk. We knew this data very early on, maybe one month post-March 2020 yet the CDC etc. failed to either read the data, understand the data, or act on the data. It would have behooved our agencies to have addressed these risks in large-scale education programs for the populace and especially by calling for a reduction in body weight and particularly for the minority sub-groups (African-Americans). In a similar light, studies showed that vitamin D supplementation for African-Americans has been associated with a lowered risk of severe disease and mortality from SARS-CoV-2. So the evidence was there; just the action by health agencies was absent. Early ambulatory outpatient treatment with successful combination and sequenced antiviral agents, corticosteroids, and anti-clotting therapeutics should be used (and should have been used) widely to help the people at risk. The African-American community is aware that “Covid (is) a killer for the obese: like pouring gasoline on top of a fire.” Unfortunately, more than two years into the pandemic, the manifest issue of public health education and sound policy decisions remain absent and aloof, given the erratic and confusing responses from the health and governing officials. Now we face another looming concern: the potential danger of the chlorine, polyester, and microplastic components of the face masks (surgical principally but any of the mass-produced masks) that have become part of our daily lives due to the Covid-19 pandemic. German Ethics Council Criticises Reiteration Of Official Narrative By Media During the Covid Era

 

Last May Germany’s most popular newspaper, Bild, issued a public apology for its coverage of the Covid pandemic which was “like poison” and “made you feel like you were a mortal danger to society.”

In fact the pandemic coverage by Bild and other German news media had been very similar to that seen in the rest of the EU's member states as well as USA, UK, Canada and Australia, a constant barrage of scarmongering reports exaggerating the risk level of COVID-19 to reasonably healthy people under the age of 75 and demonising those who declined vaccination or questioned the very questionable efficacy of the vaccines. In other words German media had, like news media throughout the developed world stuck closely to the official narratives of governments and the World Health Organisation throughout the pandemic. 

Later in the year Neues Deutschland published a privately commissioned study on journalistic reporting during the Covid era titled ‘One-sided, uncritical, close to the government?’. The authors described at length and in strongly critical terms the “very clear result of the present study” that the reporting was “at the same time close to and uncritical of the government”.

The authors complained that media reporting was only critical of government in the sense that while praising governments for tough measures to protect the public, reporters and columnists often did not consider the measures (which mostly consisted of attacks on personal freedom and basic human rights,) were not tough enough. They even persisted in this line when the measures such as lockdowns and mask mandates proved totally ineffective.

On 4 April this year (2022,) the German Ethics Council has released a 161-page draft report ‘Vulnerability and Resilience in Crisis – Ethical, Criteria for decisions in a pandemic’ which sharply criticises “mass media’s” lack of critical reporting and failure to hold politicians to account.  

 “Obvious undesirable developments were hardly addressed with the necessary clarity by a journalism that saw itself as ‘constructive’ or ‘sensitive to the common good’ … Reporting by mass media that is too affirmative or one-sided pleadingly fails to stimulate the formation of opinions … Criticism is not only legitimate, it is necessary,” the draft report states.

A few weeks ago this blog reported a Swedish study which showed that natural immunity provides much better protection against infection by the SARS2-COV virus which causes COVID (COrona VIrus Disease,) than the Pfizer vaccine which is currently hyped as the most effective on the market, though it is no more effective than the others at provinding immunity. The more responsible voices in mainstream media that actually reported the story described by the news as “a bit of a bombshell”.
