Canadian journo Eva Bartlett warned people in west not to believe war propaganda
The problem with the latest attempt to create a justification for intervention by the USA and its main allies France and the UK (
the FUKUS axis) has several things in common with all previous illegal weapons incidents in Syria for which no evidence of the involvement of Russia or President Assad's government was found, and one in particular in which the culprits were identified.
The main common problem is that as the last western reporters on the ground in Syria,
Eva Bartlett and
Vanessa Beeley (who have now both left for self preservation reasons) have pointed out, reports of these
chemical weapon incidents, which took place in rebel held areas, have all come from sources within anti - Assad groups, hardly the most reliable source of information concerning the Assad regime. Also the reports have all come when loyalist forces and their allies had the US and Saudi Arabian backed rebels on the run.
The most recent attack, the one currently being used by FUKUS axis leaders Macron, May and Trump to whip up hysteria and thus gain public support for entering the war in Syria has one essential difference from the others however.
The rebel group which is in control of the Douma region in Syria, the site of an alleged chemical attack which has been blamed on the Assad regime, was itself accused of using forbidden weapons on Kurds in 2016.
Jaish al-Islam (ArThe problem with my of Islam) formerly known as Liwa al-Islam (Brigade of Islam) is a loose alliance of Salafist Islamic militant based in the Douma and Eastern Ghouta regions of Damascus.
Douma was the site of an alleged chemical weapons attack where up to 43 people were killed and it has been blamed on the Syrian regime although the US government was eventually forced to acknowledge there was no evidence of this.
It gets worse, according to reports from news outlet Kurdistan 24, the group admitted it used chemical weapons in a mainly Kurdish populated area in the city of Aleppo, northern Syria in April 2016.

The Daily Express, Jaish al-Islam said: “One of the field commanders in Aleppo used weapons that he was not authorised to use in these kinds of confrontations." The group claimed the brigade commander was summoned to a military court, adding: “He has been referred to the Military Justice to receive the proper punishment."
Redur Khalil, a spokesman for the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) in Syrian Kurdistan, said: “The group’s statement came after many conclusive evidences and reports of chemical gas being used in shelling Aleppo’s Sheikh Maqsoud district.”
He added that Jaysh al-Islam and al-Qaeda affiliated Nusra have used forbidden weapons on Kurds many times before.

While most of us in the west do not care who worships which god, or whatever nonsense anyone believes, there are over 2 billion Christians and about the same number of Muslims in the world, but the only place where there is any violence relating to those religions is the Middle East. Why is that?
And I thought it was the orthodox Jews who were eschatological, waiting for golden calves to appear, signifying the end of time or something equally cheerful.
Most mainstream media coverage of the war is extremely critical of Islam while being highly supportive of the Israeli regime, although the latter is currently committing genocide against its indigenous population, happily bombing every surrounding country (except Egypt which is enslaved to US financial support and therefore out of bounds) and, at the same time, trying to persuade the USA to attack Iran, thereby risking the intervention of Iran's close ally China and a nuclear war which could evolve into a global conflict. Turkey's President Erdogan has said Israel is trying to drag the whole region into war, which is understatement. Clarly Israel will not be happy until it has dragged the whole world into war.
So according to western media, nothing to worry about because, of course, Israel is only acting in self-defence and we must all support these violent Israeli extremists, who have done nothing but sow discontent since the State of Israel was created (and before). To criticise Israel's government for its extremism and Zionist ambitions of world domination is not anti - Semitic any more than criticising Iran's theocratic reigme for its belligerence is Islamophobic.
Israel is a state created by religion, and driven by religion. Since it was created as a Jewish hoeland in 1948 Irael has been in conflict, and of course its governing party has roots stretching back to the terrorist groups that fought the British and French peacekeepers embedded by the United Nations to keep the peace between Jew and Muslim. The delusional myths that pass for Jewish history are all about conquering and slaughtering the enemies of their god, i.e. everyone who is not Jewish.
Iran is another religious state but one which has become increasingly moderate and increasingly tolerant in recent years, not to mention undertaking every effort to de-escalate the situation with Israel and avoid a war with USA.
But if there is one country which was ever intolerant of other views or ways of life, it is USA, especially when coerced into foreign wars by its Israel lobby.
I suggest that, without softening our detestation of Iran's appalling record on human rights, an attitude to the treatment of women that makes stone age societies look modern and progressive and a penchant for funding and arming terrorist groups we should have more understanding for the situation of the Palestinians (key words being perhaps ‘concentration camp’ and ‘occupation’), express more disgust with the ongoing genocide and utterly deplore the idea of any war anywhere at any time, but if these two nations want to destroy each other to let them get on with it, only acting to ensure the conflict does not spread between the permanent war zone that is the middle east.
