Media Blanks The Fascist Insanity At Evergreen State College

Professor Bret Weinstein was hounded off Evergreen State College and then made the target of a social Justice Warriors witch hunt by fascistic left wing advocates of freedom, quality, love and peace. In spite of the importance of this story, in a country where the undemocratic, illiberal liberals of the Democratic Party are trying (inepty) to have an elected president removed from office simply because he defeated their anointed one, mainstream media has not seen fit to report this latest outbreak of fascism in the US Higher Education System.

Some readers may be familiar with the weird saga from Evergreen State College, where a liberal biology professor, Bret Weinstein was recently prevented from teching his class by a student mob chanting "racist" and "white supremacist".

Weinstein’s crime was to go to work on a day when a student organization had requested (decreed?) that all white people must stay off campus and observe a "Day of Absence" in recognition of American culture’s "systemic racism". (As an Englishman I could do cheap jokes about American culture being an Oxymoron but I'll set the bar higher for an article about a higher education estblishment.

In a message to students, Weinstein explained that compelling people to be off campus was much different than a group of students choosing to be off campus themselves (the latter was the tradition at Evergreen State until 2017).

Weinstein’s email caused student leaders to come over all Waffen SS and precipitated this:

For refusing to obey a "request" from the student body, Weinstein has seen his life upturned.

A petition calling for him to be disciplined was signed by more than 50 Evergreen State faculty (backstabbing bastards - but would you expect liberals and progressives to be anything else?). Fearing for his family's safety after the obligatory threats of violence from the peace loving lefties, he and his family have relocated. Weinstein’s story is one of the most bizarre in years, even from the bizarro world environment of higher education. Even more bizarre however, is this: It has received almost no media attention in the USA.

This was highlighted by Mike Paros, a biology professor at Evergreen State who spoke out on behalf of Weinstein. Prior to that I had been aware of the situation but because I know little of value will be found in those propaganda sheets. In his remarks, Paros asked people to "walk toward the fire" and stand by Weinstein. He suggested that few were actually doing so, noting that “Weinstein reluctantly went on Fox News (a channel hated by liberals),because no other news source would pick up his story.” That comment is significant for a several reasons.

First, it clearly pains these academics to have to rely on Fox News, a news channel most people in the ivory tower find low and revolting, to present their case. Second, is such a juicy story really of no interest to news mediums that, if not dead in the water, are certainly belly up and floating with the current. If so, why?

Google Weinstein and Evergreen College and you will quickly learn that Paros is right. A search throws up a few reposts on new media sites, nearly all of which are conservative or libertarian and a single national story on Bret Weinstein and Evergreen State, an opinion piece written by New York Times staff editor Bari Weiss, published on June 1.

That’s it. Nothing from Time. Or Slate. Or the Atlantic. Or New York magazine. Or Salon, where Weinstein is a contributor. The major networks like CBS, ABC, and NBC? They are MIA, too. Even NPR, arguably the best education news source in the world. I

It’s utterly astonishing that in the 21st century, in a nation that prides itself on tolerance, diversity and inclusivity, a tenured university faculty member who voted for Bernie Sanders can be railroaded off campus by a mob of neo - Nazi students who make adolf Eichmann look like an easy going sort of guy, and the press has an utter lack of interest in the story. The left leaning professor is forced to crawl to Fox News and The Wall Street Journal to plead his case.

Why is this story not being chronicled and the fascism for which the university system has become a petri dish not being exposed by America's leading media outlets?

We don’t know the answer to this question, but it certainly seems possible that traditional media are no longer interested in covering stories that don’t fit the pre - ordained narratives of certain political agenda regarding race, gender, and diversity in America, even if those stories are clearly newsworthy.

Thomas Jefferson once wrote, “Where the press is free and every man able to read, all is safe.” It seems as if those freedom loving hippy arseholes have other plans for anyone who challenges their diktat on anything.

Latest Democrats Plan To Stitch Up Trump Is Not Even Stupid

 That's right, a bunch of idiots could look competent next to the US Democratic Party as they continuein their bid to have President Trump removed from office. In fact The Three Stooges would have a better chance of beating Trump in 2020 than anyone wearing a 'Democratic Party candidate' label.

Following the testimonies of both former FBI Director James Comey and Attorney General Jeff Sessions, the Left's 'Russian Collusion' narrative has completely unraveled.  Comey's admission under oath that Trump was never under investigation and that he never attempted to influence the Russia investigation was a startling realization for disaffected democrats and the mainstream media who have been flailing around ever since anxiously attempting to craft a new damaging narrative to perpetuate their witch hunt.

Now, we learn this morning via the Washington Post that the new narrative of choice for disaffected democrats will be that Trump is violating the "emoluments clause" of the constitution every time a foreigner decides to stay at one of his hotels.  According to Wapo, nearly 200 Democrat members of Congress have signed onto the lawsuit led by Senator Richard Blumenthal. Humanity Threatened By AI-controlled Propaganda – Assange

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange is concerned about the frenetic propaganda efforts by governments and tech companies to convince us with propaganda spread through mainstream media that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is with us and machines are already as smart as humans and are set to surpass us. The Wikileaks founder predicts a dystopian future world where human perception is no match for Artificial Intelligence - controlled propaganda and the consequences of AI are lost on its creators, wide eyed idealists who envision a nirvana-like future and the gimlet eyed power addicts they work for. 

 

Like Assange I was an Information Technology professional and although I do not agree with his view that Artifical Intelligence already or will ever exist, I share his concerns. My view is that machines outperform us in their ability to parse vast amounts of data incredibly quickly and match strings. A computer has and can never have the ability to understand the data it processes, to translate binary strings into words and numbers and infer meanings from those numbers, Thus I have always said the only way to make computers truly intelligent is by radically defining what we mean by intelligent.

 

But enough of my opinions, I broadly agree with Assange about the ability of software bots to manipulate perceptions in order to advance political agendas so let's look at what he said about the threat of AI-controlled social media when speaking through a video link at rapper and activist M.I.A.’s Meltdown Festival in the Southbank Centre, London.

Addressing the future of AI, Assange told a panel including Slovenian philosopher Slavoj Žižek that there will be a time when AI will be used to adjust perception.

“Imagine a Daily Mail run by essentially Artificial Intelligence, what does that look like when there’s only the Daily Mail worldwide? That's what Facebook and Twitter will shift into,” he said.

Assange also referenced the intense pressure Facebook and Google were under to ensure Emmanuel Macron, and not Marine Le Pen, won last month’s French presidential election runoff.

When asked by M.I.A. if AI and Virtual Reality (VR) technology will make society more vulnerable to political manipulation, Assange replied: “Yes, of course we can be influenced, but I don’t see that as the main problem.”

"Human beings have always been influenced by sophisticated systems of production, information and experience, [such as the] BBC for example.”

The technologies “just amplify the power of the ability to project into the mind,” he added.

The main concern for Assange’s is around how AI can be used to advance propaganda.

“The most important development as far as the fate of human beings are concerned is that we are getting close to the threshold where the traditional propaganda function that is employed by BBC, The Daily Mail, [or The New York Times and CNN] and cultures also, can be encapsulated by AI processes,” Assange said.

“When you have AI programs harvesting all the search queries and YouTube videos someone uploads it starts to lay out perceptual influence campaigns, twenty to thirty moves ahead. This starts to become totally beneath the level of human perception.”
 
Admitting his vision was dystopian, he suggested that he could be wrong.

“Maybe there will be a new band of technologically empowered human beings that can see this [rueful] fate coming towards us, [which] will be able to extract value or diminish it by directly engaging with it – that's also possible.”

Another insight offered by the WikiLeaks founder was his opinion that engineers involved in AI lack perception about what they’re doing.

“I know from our sources deep inside the Silicon Valley institution[s] that they genuinely believe that they are going to produce AI that's so powerful, relatively soon, that people will have their brains digitized, uploaded to these AIs and live forever in simulation, therefore have eternal life.”

“It's like a religion for atheists,” he added. “And given you’re in a simulation, why not program the simulation to have endless drug and sex orgy parties around you.”

Assange said this vision makes them work harder and the dystopian consequences of their work is overshadowed by cultural and industrial bias to not perceiving it.

He concluded that the normal perception someone would have regarding their work has been supplanted with “this ridiculous quasi-religious model in which humans learn to process data the way computers do it, and that's it all going to lead to nirvana.”

The ambition of the Nerds to create a computer controlled world has been foreseen and satirized in novels and movies. but we only have to look at how dysfunctional or misanthropic tech billionaires like bill Gates, Page and Brin, Elon Musk or Mark Zuckerberg are to understand their vision of a tech utopia will be a living nightmare for normal, well balanced human beings. Qatar Close To Running Out Of Dollars?

Let's be honest, the Saudi-led campaign to starve Qatar's citizens of food and businesses of trade was doomed from the start, while the Saudi's my feel they can rely on big bully boy best mate the USA to deter anybody thinking of helping Qatar, with both Turkey and Iran volunteering to provide food and other essentials to the tiny Gulf nation while local entrepreneurs have started a cow paradropping campaign to beat the blockade on milk imports,  the key factor is what will Russia's President Putin do.

Putin has little time for the Saudis, is fed up of American meddling in the middle east, and is a strong ally of both Iran, the real target of the Saudi move against Qatar, and of Syria's President Assad. And Putin is well aware of the role the USA and Saudi Arabia have played in sponsoring the iSIS / Al Nusra war in Syria. In fact, right up to the end of his failed presidency Barack Hussein Obama was telling the world America's priority in Syria was not to defeat the terrorists of ISIS but to remove Assad and open the way for the Saudis to install a Muslim theocracy that would support its own extreme version of Islam.

A new problem has now emerged in Qatar, the world's biggest source of natural gas: the financial system is running out of dollars. Bloomberg reports that several Qatari banks have boosted interest rates on dollar deposits to shore up liquidity as the Saudi-led campaign to isolate the gas-rich state intensifies.
  
Adding to concerns of a monetary blockade, Bloomberg also reports that some banks in neighboring countries have been offloading investments in Qatar amid concerns of a widening of the blockade.

Qatar is the world's wealthiest nation on a GDP/capita basis and is well able to withstand a prolonged financial siege, and defend its currency and economy. Finance Minister Ali Shareef Al Emadi  played down the impact of the crisis on the country, in an interview with CNBC on Sunday (11 June) saying the plunge in Qatari assets last week was a “normal” reaction to the standoff.

Finally, the question nobody dares ask out loud is, "Where does Russian president Vladimir Puting stand on all this. Well aware of the US role in this latest crisis and the real reasons behind it (reported HERE and HERE) Puting has said the US has “got a false sense that it is able to do everything without any consequences,” in particular after the Soviet Union’s collapse.

“In such a situation, a man or a country begins to make mistakes… Putin said. The state begins to function ineffectively. One mistake follows another. That is the trap in which, as I believe, the United States got caught into,” Putin reflected during a press conference.

"I believe that if you think you are the only world power, trying to impose on the whole nation the idea of their exclusiveness, this creates an imperialistic mentality in society, which in turn requires an adequate foreign policy expected by society. And the country's leaders are forced to follow this logic. And in practice this might go contrary to the interest of the Americans.... It demonstrates it's impossible to control everything."


 

Which some might interpret as a warning to the USA to stay out of the middle east and mind its own business.

Saudi Arabia Bids For Islamic Globalisation

A couple of weeks ago, soon after the suicide bomb at The Manchester Arena which killed 22 people and injured over a hundred, I felt oblighed to defriend someone on facebook, whom I have known online for around ten years. It saddened me to do such a thing because I am a tolerant person, having always been willing to allow people their own views and opinions no matter how strongly I disagree. So what did this sweet, seventy something lady, who writes books on medieval witchcraft and calls herself a pagan, do to piss me off?

She showed herself to be a hypocrite and a phoney by posting a whinge about people reacting with anger and hate to this latest atrocity, calling them bigots and claiming, "I'm all about compassion, I will not stand by and see Muslims victimised because of this." When people started to remind her that all the recent atrocities in britain, France, Belgium, Germany, Sweden and elsewhere have been committed by Muslims and people have a right to be angry and demand action from the authorities she became very self righteous.

I told her the attitude of trying to equate the anger of British people with the terrorist acts of certain groups of Muslims who randomly attack and kill innocent people was not acceptable and she accused me of being racist. Now I am sure most British people understand that only a few Muslims living in Britain are extremists. And while I was angry I understood anger aimed at ' Muslims' in general was futile, my anger was directed at the authorities, so brainwashed with the idiocies of politically correct thinking they have repeatedly failed to act, against terrorists, hate preachers, organised sex abusers, illegal immigrant racketeers and electoral fraud for fear of inciting racial conflict. Yes it is time to get good and angry and remingd our leader white people, native Europeans and European Americans have rights too.

But then, when it comes to directing anger I have an advantage over most people, having access to news feeds where I see the stories mainstream media will not go near. Take the latest middle east trouble spot, Qatar, where the government of Saudi Arabia, accusing the Qataris of supporting terrorism, has organised a blockade of all road, sea and air routes in and out of the tiny nation on the coast of the Persian Gulf. What is really going on is reported elsewhere in our publications, but the story really gets interesting when we widen the angle and the bigger picture emerges. Only then do we begin to see what is really going on in the Islamic world.

A few months ago, the governor of Jakarta, Indonesia’s capital city, looked sset for re-election despite the fact that he is a Christian while Indonesia is, in terms of population, the world's biggest Muslim nation. Everything was going swimmingly until someone reported an off-the-cuff and less than deferential remark the governor made about the Koran. In tolerant, easy going Indonesia multitudes of angry Muslims took to the streets to denounce the blaspheming infidel. He lost the election, was arrested, charged with blasphemy, and sentenced to two years in prison.

This episode is especially alarming because Indonesian Islam, like most belief systems on that vast nation made up of thousands of islands, is generally gentle, and open-minded. The rapid fall of Jakarta’s governor is the opposite of what people in the geopolitical region would expect: Times of India was stunned, Asia Times of Hong Kong shocked and concerned. The intolerance, sectarian hatred, and contempt for democracy we have seen in Iraq, Syria and throughout the middle east is totally out of character. And yet Islamic fundamentalism is rampant in Indonesia. And guess which medievalist Whahabbi Muslim regime, which still inflicts the death penalty on homosexuals, publicly beheads adulterers, stones or flogs disobedient wives and daughters and holds that a married woman is her husband's chattel is behind this reactionary trend.

Saudi Arabia has been working for decades to undermine Indonesia's secular version Islam and promote the unrelenting puritanism of the Wahhabi sect that is state religion in Saudi Arabia and though less stringently observed inother Gulf States including Qatar. The Saudis have been patient, multi-faceted, and have lavishly financed extremist Mosques in Indonesia, the better to radicalise young Muslims from influential families. It mirrors the campaigns they have waged other countries with Muslim majorities or significant minorities across Asia and Africa.

Successive American presidents have dutifully sucked up to the Saudi Arabian monarchy, knowing the USA's dependency on saudi oil they assured voters that the Saudis were America's friends and were vital to American interests in the middle east. That Osama bin Laden and most of his 9/11 hijackers were Saudis had to be swept under the carpet, as did the diplomatic cable in which Secretary of State Hillary Clinton wrote in 2009, “Donors in Saudi Arabia constitute the most significant source of funding to Sunni terrorist groups worldwide.”

Recent events in Indonesia shine a light on a Saudi project that is even more pernicious than financing terrorists. Saudi Arabia has used its wealth, most of which comes from the United States and European Union, to turn entire nations into hotbeds of radical Islam. By refusing to protest or even officially acknowledge this far-reaching project, we in the democracies of the developed world finance our own enemies and the global terror campaign now being waged.

The center of Saudi Arabia’s efforts to attract Indonesians to Wahhabi Islam is a free university in Jakarta known by the acronym LIPIA. All instruction is in Arabic, given mainly by preachers from Saudi Arabia and nearby countries. Genders are kept segregated; strict dress codes are enforced; and music, television, and 'loud laughter' are forbidden as are all other things considered 'unislamic'. Imams inculcate an ultra-conservative form of Islam that prescribes hand amputation for thieves, stoning for adulterers, and death for gays and blasphemers.

Many students are drawn from the more than 100 boarding schools Saudi Arabia supports in Indonesia, or have attended one of the 150 mosques that Saudis have built there. The most promising are given scholarships to study in Saudi Arabia, from which they return fully prepared to wreak social, political, and religious havoc in their homeland. Some promote terror groups like Hamas Indonesia and the Islamic Defenders Front, which did not exist before the Saudis arrived.

This Is Bizarre - Italy's 5-Star Party Latest Flop For Anti - EU Movement In Elections

After the disastrous failure by Britain's Conservatives to secure a clear majority to enable them to force a favourable Brexit deal on the Euronazis of Brussels after they had been showing a significant lead in polls right up to election day, and the entirely predictable but disappointing failure of Marine Le Pen in the French presidential election (France has the most corrupt electoral system of any democratic nation in the developed world), the failure of Geert Wilders in The Netherlands when pre - election he had been topping opinion polls, the failure of Italy's Five Star movement in local elections when they too had been polling well must make us suspect foul play. Polling companies know their figures can never be accurate but they are not idiots.

Five Star, led by former comedian Beppe Grillo, failed to make it to the second round of voting in Genoa, Palermo, Parma and Verona, according to projections. Centrist-oriented parties fared better than expected in the approximately 1,000 towns and cities that voted, with the second round scheduled for June 25. Turnout was just over 60 percent. A multi-party deal on a new electoral law unraveled last week, making it highly unlikely that a snap national vote will be held this year. Investors had been concerned that an election in 2017 could lead to either a hung parliament or a win for the anti-establishment Five Star. The current legislature expires in 2018.

The ruling Democratic Party and the Five Star had been neck-and-neck in Italian national opinion polls, with each drawing about 30 percent support, but as Reuters notes, Sunday's election appeared to follow a similar sudden and unexplained collapse of support for anti-establishment parties, when not only polls but the public mood had predicted very different outcomes. In Vox - Pop features on UK TV and radio ahead of the actual vote it was hard to find people who would admit they planned to vote Labour with the National Front in France and the anti-EU group UKIP in Britain both suffering poll failures this past week.

In Britain of course we are well aware of the Muslim electoral system, one Imam, one thousand votes, which now exists alongside our traditional one person one vote system.

Front National was going to lose in France, the establishment parties gang up on them everytime, by agreeing that only the party with the best chance of beating FN will campaign seriously while other parties tell their supporters to vote tactically to keep FN out. This time Marine Le Pen got a step closer to winning, next time, presuming French democracy has not been replaced by an Islamic theocracy by 2020, they might prevail despite the efforts of the corrupt ruling elite.

UKIP was going to be wiped out this time around bar a charismatic new leader emerging, because as their name says they are the UK independence party, with UK heading for exit they're reason to exist disappeared, they need a new one.

Italy, no idea. What we have seen so far only relates to the first round of voting and is the projections from exit polls. In both Italy's municipal elections and France's parliamentary elections things could change. But it also does feel like everything is going EU's way, the recent elections are spun in that way.LL The failure of Britain's Conservastives to win an overall majority is being presented as a great victory for Labour, but the reality is even if Labour could persuade ALL the minor parties to vote with them (and that's never going to happen) they could only defeat the Conservatives by a single vote in pasrliament. As things stand the seven Northern Ireland Republican MPs do not attend the London Parliament because they reject its authority, it would be very unusual for the DUP (Northern Ireland Unionists) to vote with Labour and so the Conservatives are quite secure in power despite all the hype.

I believe this chaos was a failed attempt to derail Brexit after the plan to rig the referendum vote (over 100% turnout in some inner city districts) was thwarted. If Brexit is screwed up and the majority of the electorate are fucked over by the corrupt elite and the university brainwashed millenials, then I believe the next stage in the breakdown of democracy will be bloody and brutal. Let's look at the options:

France, Britain, and Italy elections are rigged. Elites carry on with policy of importing a supine and compliant Muslim majority. The masses take offence at being treated as coprophiliacs (people who enjoy being shat on,) and civil unrest ensues.

The natives are willing to accept totalitarianism just to keep the state handouts flowing. Never underestimate the stupidity of the common man.

The elite tell us nationalism is really dying (amid all the ISIS bombs?) and the masses accept they will be replace by illiterate third world barbarians 'because multiculturalism'. The common people are not this stupid.

Civil war.

We have only reported a few of the problems that have beset Uber, the multi billion dollar internet ride sharing app cum illegal taxi service operator company since it floated on the stock market and opened itself to scrutiny. We are Boggart Blog are all petrol heads and so rarely use cabs, thus Uber's trials and tribulations have only sporadically been reported here. Following a fresh batch of scandals to add to the ones earlier in the years, more executives have resigned and the board are considering replacing the founder and CEO Travis Kalanik.

The story however should be familiar to anyone who remembers the bursting of the dotcom bubble almost twenty years ago, tech startup with no viable business model, no track record, no revenue stream and no product or service to sell obtains venture capital, invests in massive hype, floats company on stock exchange at hugely overvalued price because of tech fever. Investors pile in, founders sell their shares, make a killing and then, as directors proceed to burn investors cash on jollies and vanity projects. Having a bright idea does not equate to being a competent and responsible businessman.

Uber Imploding: Chief Business Officer Resigns As Kalanick Plans "Leave Of Absence"

The uber implosion at Uber continues.
Two days after it emerged that Uber CEO Travis Kalanick had fired off a bizarre email in 2013 to hundreds of employees where he listed the conditions under which they could have sex with each other at a company outing in Miami, the WSJ reports that not only is Uber Chief Business Officer Emil Michael said to resign on Monday, just two days after it was reported that Uber's head of finance Gautam Gupta was departing to take a position at OpenDoor, but that embattled Chief Executive Travis Kalanick "will discuss taking a possible leave of absence when the board of directors of the embattled ride-hailing company meets Sunday morning."

Uber Technologies Inc. executive Emil Michael, one of Chief Executive Travis Kalanick’s closest confidants, is planning to resign as soon as Monday amid an ongoing investigation into the company’s workplace culture, according to people familiar with matter.

Mr. Michael, as chief business officer, helped oversee broad strategy initiatives including mergers and acquisitions and fundraising. He joined Uber in 2013 from Klout Inc., which rates users’ online reputation, and had worked as an adviser to technology companies.

Also on the agenda of today's meeting of the seven-person board is a vote on a series of recommendations from a report prepared by former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder regarding its workplace.

It was uncertain whether Mr. Kalanick would ultimately take the leave or whether the board would approve of such a measure, which would require finding a temporary replacement in short order.?

Following  a wave of "setbacks and scandals" that have besieged the ride-hailing service earlier this year, many executives have left the company. Uber has been trying to hire a deputy for Mr. Kalanick after a leaked video in February showed Mr. Kalanick berating an Uber driver. Uber is also seeking a CFO.

GermanyForeign Minister Warns Qatar Crisis Could Lead To War As Qatar Asks Moscow For Support

German foreign minister Sigmar Gabriel is worried that the blockade of air and sea ports in Qatar by Saudi Arabia and its Muslim extremist allies in the middle east could lead to a new regional war in the Gulf region. In an interview with  Germany's Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung, he said "There is a danger that this dispute could lead to war" This would represent a "dramatic" escalation in tensions between Qatar and neighbouring countries in the Gulf.

Gabriel said personal talks this week with his the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey, and phone calls with the foreign ministers of Iran and Kuwait underscored his concerns. "After my talks this week, I know how serious the situation is, but I believe there are also good chances to make progress," he concluded.

Gabriel also referred to a phone conversation with Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on the Gulf situation on Friday and said that Tillerson showed a "very wise and prudent attitude" that has contributed to calming the conflict.

Yet while Tillerson was "calming" the conflict, President Trump appeared to be adding fire to it, when the president accused Qatar of being a "high level" funder of terrorism even as the Pentagon and Tillerson cautioned against the military, commercial and humanitarian effects of a blockade imposed by Arab states and others. Trump is talking bollocks of course, while its true that Qatar does support terrorist activity, both saudi Arabia and the USA are far bigger suppliers of arms, money and expertise to terrorist organisations.

Today Saudi Arabia and Bahrain welcomed Trump's demand for Qatar to stop supporting terrorism, but did not respond to a U.S. Department of State call for them to ease pressure on the tiny but wealthy Gulf state. After severing ties with Qatar on Monday, Saudi Arabia said it was committed to "decisive and swift action to cut off all funding sources for terrorism" in a statement carried by state news agency SPA, attributed to "an official source".

The real cause of the conflict is not Qatar's support for terrorism of course, but its abandonment of support for the US / Saudi pet project of an oil and gas pipeline from The Gulf through Syrian territory to the mediterranean.It seems the Qatari's have grasped the idea that Assad, with support from Iran and Russia, is winning the war against ISIS despite US and Saudi intervention in support of the Islamic extremists.

A separate SPA report on acknowledged Tillerson's call for Qatar to curtail support for terrorism, but did not mention his concession that apart from was hurting ordinary Qataris and impairing business dealings in The Gulf it is also harming the U.S. fight against the Islamic State militant group. Saudi Arabia said its action followed the conclusions of last month's Arab Islamic American Summit in Riyadh, where Trump delivered a speech about Islamic extremism.

Meanwhile the joker in the middle eastern pack, Turkey's President Recep Erdogan vowed to continue supporting Qatar. “Now, there are ones who are bothered because of us being together with our Qatari brothers or sending and exporting food supplies, drugs etc – no matter if they are in hunger or thirst – should excuse us. We will continue to give all our support to Qatar,” Erdogan said at an iftar (fast-breaking meal) with members of his AK Party in Istanbul, quoted by RT.

Russia Intercepts US Aircraft Over Baltic During NATO Military Exercises

Russia conducted a safe and routine intercept of a US aircraft over the Baltic Sea on Friday, US Department of Defense spokesperson Capt. Jeff Davis revealed on Friday.

"There was a routine and safe intercept that occurred during that [BALTOPS exercise]. This was not one we believe falls into the category of unsafe," Davis said.

On June 6 Russia's Defense Ministry reported the Air Force scrambled a Su-27 fighter over the Baltics to to intercept and escort a US B-52 strategic bomber that approached its borders.

On June 1, NATO naval exercises, dubbed Baltic Operations (BALTOPS), the largest evr held by the western powers in the region, kicked off in the Polish northern port city of Szczecin. Twelve NATO states, including Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, the United Kingdom and the United States, as well as two non-alliance countries namely Finland and Sweden, participate in the drills.

BALTOPS will last up to June 16 and will be concluded in the German port city of Kiel.
