7.5 million Going Hungry As Ethiopia Famine Crisis Worsens

(Translated from Agence Free Presse)Addis Ababa - The number of Ethiopians affected by famine and needing food aid has risen sharply with around 7.5 million people now in need, aid officials said Friday. The situation is worsening daily and is caused by failure of the annual rains added to the effects of the El Nino weather phenomenon .

The number needing help has nearly doubled since August this year when the United Nations said 4.5 million were in need. UN representatives are now warning that without action some "15 million people will require food assistance" next year, more than inside war-torn Syria.

"Without a robust response supported by the international community, there is a high probability of a significant food insecurity and nutrition disaster," the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, OCHA, said in a report.

The UN children's agency, Unicef, has warned of over 300,000 children being in a severely malnourished state by the end of they year.

The Famine Early Warning Systems Network (FEWS NET), which makes detailed technical assessments of hunger, predicted a harvest "well below average" for the Horn Of Africa region in its latest report.

"Unusual livestock deaths continue to be reported," FEWS NET said. "With smaller herds, few sellable livestock, and almost no income other than charcoal and firewood sales, households are unable to afford adequate quantities of food."

Ethiopia, Africa's second most populous nation, borders the Horn of Africa nation of Somalia, where some 855,000 people face need "life-saving assistance", according to the UN, warning that 2.3 million more people there are "highly vulnerable".

The First Casualty? Bizarre report from Afghanistan by BBC

In war truth is always the first casualty, goes an old newspaper maxim. It still seems to hold true in this age of on the spot reporters, rolling news and citizen journalism.

In the ten years this blog has existed (and admittedly there has always been much more activity on our UK hosted site until we learned that blog engine will close at the end of the year) we have seen BBC News become less an impartial reporter of events in Britain and the world and more like the Ministry Of Truth, the propaganda department of the Big Brother Regime in George Orwell's 1984.

About the only people who believe BBC reports are politicians, tax - eaters (public sector workers, schoolteachers, academics, NHS managers and professionals and the luvvies of the meeja and celebrity industry) But occasionally even the BBC cannot cover up the truth in service of its corporate masters agenda. This report from Afghanistan on how the city of Kunduz, recently overrun by the resurgent Taliban and according to official reports, almost immediately won back by Afghan Government troops is an example:

Rights groups have expressed concern for the large numbers of civilians trapped in the Afghan city of Kunduz, amid fierce fighting between the Taliban and government troops.The government has accused the Taliban of raping and killing civilians after it seized the northern city this week. The Taliban rejected the accusations.

Both sides are claiming to be in control of much of the city.

But one resident of Kunduz told the BBC that he disputes the government's claims that the city has been retaken, saying he could see no evidence of government troops there.

So have The Taliban been kicked out of Kunduz, was there even a counter attack by government troops, did the Taliban even manage to gain control of the city? You guess is as good as ours. Everything you read or hear in news these days is carefully managed propaganda.

All Bombs Kill But Obama Only Denounces Russia's And Syria's Bombs

In addressing the United Nations earlier this week, President Obama attacked Russia, China and Iran for "imposing their will on weaker nations by military means" but failed to acknowledge the numerous military interventions of his own country since World War 2. He also singled out for condemnation Syria’s President Assad and his alleged use of “barrel bombs,” but again Obama was silent on his own use of far more powerful ordnance or the civilian tolls from Saudi/Israeli attacks with highly lethal U.S. bombs

Obama denounced anyone who doesn’t favor “regime change” in Syria as advocating “support [for] tyrants like Bashar al-Assad, who drops barrel bombs to massacre innocent children, forgetting - understadably perhaps considering all the bombing missions, drone strikes and actions by ground troops against non - combatant citizens of third world nations he has to authorize every day - that FUKUS axis (France, UK and US) bombs have been devastating the Middle East almost every day for over a decade, killing certainly tens and possibly hundreds of thousands of innocent people, including many thousands of children.

It is amazing that now Vladimir Putin has once again out - thought and totally outmanoeuvred Washington to take control of the war against ISIS in Syria at least, and Russia has made more impact towards defeating the Islamic extremists in a month than the USA and its allies had in over a year, mainstream media in the west have suddenly become aware that bombs kill a lot of civilians. But only Russian bombs, Chinese and Iranian bombs it seems. British bombs are cheerful, happy and sing The Lambeth Walk to get people dancing merrily as they wait for the next dose of death to fall. American bombs are sincere and filled with brotherly love even if their religiosity is a tad irritating, and their shrapnel and blast are brilliantly engineered only to go in the direction of bad guys. French bombs have that certain 'je ne sais quoi' and tend to dismiss suggestions that they are lethal with a nonchalant gallic shrug.

The bombing of Libyan city Sirte, a part of the campaign to depose the regime of Muammar Gadaffi in 2011, was hundreds of times times more devastating than the sum total of Russian bombings so far in Syria. Inexplicably there were no outraged on the spot reports from breathless BBC reporters on the thousands of civilian casualties the regime changing bombs caused not only in Sirte but the many towns devastated by the FUKUS axis campaign in Libya.

makes no difference whatsoever to the legal position whether this week's bombing by Russian aircraft was against ISIL or against a different bunch of crazed Islamist rebels, one still supported by the CIA and Saudi Arabia (who are not the moderate Syrian opposition as the habitually dishonest Obama tries to suggest, but a different flavour of extremists). Russia's military presence in Syria and Russian airstrikes against anti - government rebels are at the request of the legitimate Government of Syria and thus legal. That does not mean we should support it. Just because a thing is legal does not mean it is morally right. Bombs kill innocent people. In Syria and probably Iraq too, innocent people may have to die by bombs to save a far greater number of innocent people dying by the hand of extremists.

I have enough confidence the good sense of most human beings to believe that a majority will see through the propaganda of the murderer and war criminal Obama and his hapless henchmen Cameroink and Hollande and FUKUS axis bombs are just as lethal as Russian bombs, Assad's alleged barrel bombs or ISILs Improvised Explosive Devices.

USA, Obama's 'wellspring of human rights' helped Saudi Arabia gt on the United Nations Human Rights Council

Two years after the controversial appointment of Saudi Arabia to the U.N. Human Rights Council, leaked diplomatic cables have revealed the U.K. was a key player in the election of the Gulf State ─ despite the Saudis’ appalling human rights record.

The United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHCR) is tasked with the promotion and protection of human rights throughout the world. What’s remarkably under-reported (yet unsurprising) is the claim that notorious human rights abuser, Saudi Arabia, pledged $1 million to UNHRC prior to winning the blood-stained seat.

What is surprising is the next chapter in the farcical saga.

In a classic case of you scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours, the leaked cables ─ translated by U.N. Watch ─ allege that a secret vote trading deal was made by Britain and Saudi Arabia to ensure both countries were elected to the council.

Passed to Wikileaks in June, the classified files refer to Saudi talks with British diplomats prior to the November 2013 vote in New York.

One read: “The delegation is honoured to send to the ministry the enclosed memorandum, which the delegation has received from the permanent mission of the United Kingdom asking it for the support and backing of the candidacy of their country to the membership of the human rights council (HRC) for the period 2014-2016, in the elections that will take place in 2013 in the city of New York.”

The leaked files then elaborate on the trading of “support” between the two countries ...

Council Of Europe Concerned At Rising Racism In Germay (but No Mention Of Violence And Sex Crimes Committed By Illegal Immigrants)

The European Union immigration crisis that is now affecting most of the EU's wealthy nations and some that are only just clawing their way out of poverty after independence from the Soviet Union or Yugoslavia, appears to be dividing societies more deeply and pushing many European societies towards civil conflict as the affluent, self indulgent elite, in their efforts to show how caring and politically correct they are, further alienate the working class, middle and low income groups whose lives are seriously affected by the influx of violent extremists from lawless areas of the world.

A report from Europe's top human rights watchdog, The Council Of Europe, published Thursday, 1 October raised concerns about the growing incidence of racism in Germany, citing a wave of far-right, anti-Islam demonstrations at odds with the more recent image of a country ready to open its doors to hundreds of thousands of refugees (no mention of the meteoric rise in rapes of German women by foreigners or the establishment of no-go zones for non Muslims of course).

"There have been worrying developments as regards public manifestations of racism and xenophobia,” the Council's committee on national minorities said in a press release.

"Manifestations of anti-Semitism and anti-Muslim and anti-immigrant sentiments are… reported to be rising, as well as attacks against asylum seekers,” the report states.

It specifically referred to the Monday marches organised by the anti-Islam PEGIDA movement last winter, which at its height drew crowds of up to 25,000 in the eastern city of Dresden, although support for the movement has since fallen. (But again no mention of the meteoric increase in rapes of German women by foreigners since Hausfrau-Volksfuhrer opened the flood gates)

While there were large counter-demonstrations and official statements in support of diversity and mutual respect, "sustained efforts are still needed to foster a climate of tolerance and intercultural dialogue,” the council lied, without mentioning the way German mainstream media blacks out reports of the true level of anger at uncontrolled immigration among German citizens.
The report — which was adopted in March but only released on Thursday — also highlighted the "heinous fatal stabbing” of an Eritrean man in Dresden on the evening of one far-right demo, days after the door of his flat had had a swastika painted on it, but contains no reference to violent crimes perpetrated by foreigners (particularly from Africa and the middle east) against Germans.

She was sure that they would quickly integrate themselves into Native American culture and the carefully created civilisation that had taken thousands of years to develop would be unaffected.

Free Speech And The 'Black Lives Matter' Book Burners

First let's make it quite clear that in the view of this blog, ALL LIVES MATTER. When people who claim to be trying to stamp out racism start being selective, one suspects they are just trying to earn politically correct brownie points.

The news that students and administrators at a Connecticut, USA, university are ‘boycotting’ the Wesleyan Argus student newspaper for publishing an op-ed that was mildly critical of some aspects of the anti-police-brutality group Black Lives Matter (BLM). Their petition reads: ‘This boycott includes recycling the Argus and demanding [its] funds… be revoked.’ According to the op-ed’s author, Bryan Stascavage, hundreds of papers have already been stolen, some possibly burned or shredded.

Well burning books on a university campus is a bad idea ever since Ray Bradbury's Farenheit 451 was published, but burning is not the only way to destroy printed matter available to those involved in the genocide of ideas

Alas, the censorious do not seem to appreciate the irony of composting ideas on a university campus. At Wesleyan College and elsewhere (in the UK and mainland Europe too), 'right on' students (and sometimes administrators and faculty) cry ‘blasphemy!’ and demand the heads of unbelievers whenever and however the politically correct dogma is questioned.

The methods being used by the authoritarian 'left' are downright scary. Protesting against views you disagree with is acceptable. Trying to stop others from encountering views your group disagrees with undermines the rights of free speech and free access to information that are so crucial to liberal democracy. The Book Burners are nothing if not pedantic however and see no irony in identifying themselves as 'liberal' and 'progressive' while trying to suppress the views and ideas of the 'bigots' who oppose them.

Sadly thousands of years of religious conditioning has caused bigotry to bleed into DNA it appears. The lefties or 'liberals' are just as authoritarian and self-righteous, dogmatic and intolerantly narrow minded as any Roman Catholic Inquisitor or a Puritan of the era when heretics were burned at the stake.

The purpose of a school university ought not to be the brainwashing of students into accepting Marxism and political correctness as the universal truths any more than it is to impart the dogmas of Roman Catholicism, Calvinism, Orthodox Christianity, Judaeism or Islam.

The idea that people should be encouraged to develop and express their own ideas, and that it is nothing to do with educational faculties of student bodies to prevent discussion of a person's opinions seems to be totally beyond the comprehension of these fascists. Their attitude equates to: No adults allowed, only silly children who want to be exactly the same as everyone else.

The West failed for decades to stamp out Communist totalitarianism in student communities and we are still paying the price. No wonder that the Kremlin and Beijing think that the West is a spent force.

Can Muslim Culture Ever Integrete With Tolerant Western Socities?

We in the developed nations are constantly told we must accept multiculturalism (Why? We never voted in favour of it?), celebrate diversity (We do celebrate diversity, there are thousands of diverse lifestyle within western societies) and adapt to accommodate the quirky but charming traditions of immigrants (traditions like the honour killing of daughters who reject their parents choice of husband, female genital mutilation, wife beating, legitimized rape (western women are asking for it doncha know) and killing of Christians.

On Tuesday 29 September, Breitbart London ran a story about German politician Julia Klöckner, under the headline "Female Politician Refused Handshake By Imam Slams ‘Medieval’ Migrant Culture

In response to reports of her experience published in Germany, Fraulien Klöckner has received hundreds of emails from German women describing their experiences with Muslims and the rude and insulting reposes they have received in response to polite approaches. The magazine Focus has done an article about it (link below), a couple of paragraphs on the subject of migrants needing to learn the language of the host nation are here translated with the help of Google translate (OK, I don't speak much German but my French is pretty good and I can communicate in Swedish):

A teacher at a vocational school writes that the "most problematic students are male and Muslim, who do not recognize the authority of a female teacher and disrupt the lesson massively". A mother reported that at the school of her daughter she had addressed a fully veiled woman, [asking] if she could help her.

The answer, however, came from a "man who looked as if he was from the Boss fashion magazine - chic suit and 3-day beard"; "My wife does not speak the language of the impure". When [the German woman] asked, who's impure here, he replied, "that I was impure. I asked him what does that mean. I received the answer that it had nothing to do with me personally, because all German women are impure and his wife should not speak the language of the impure, so as to keep her pure.

There is clearly no intention of trying to integrate or even of that man, like many Muslim migrants throughout the EU allowing their wives and children to become part of European society. These people hate our societies and culture and they hate us. They believe they are coming to take over.
Those weak, emotionally inadequate, surrender monkey in our European nations who think we should welcome the invaders by yielding to all their demands should be stripped of citizenship and offered the choice of a free passage to some third world cesspit where they can make a new life, or if they wish to stay on their homeland, they should given show trials, found guilty of treason and be put in labour camps for life.

Is USA Preparing For War Against Russia In The Baltic Region?

The US government has been making preparations for a possible war against Russia in Europe’s Baltic States, German business newspaper Deutsche Wirtschafts Nachrichten (DWN) reports (link goes to page in original German). The report claims that all the NATO war games organized in the region by Washington have been intended to prepare various military response scenarios. (Nothing to do with Obama's trying to provoke Russia into attacking western interests so he can get the war he needs to keep his neo - Con and neo - Lib handlers happy while claiming the moral high ground then?)

The Pentagon's military thinking has shifted when it comes to Moscow, perhaps having failed to secure outright wins in Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria they might be thinking that Russia will go easy when it is fellow Slavs on whom the bombs will fall. I wouldn't bet much money on that.

What the US visualises is hybrid warfare, the use of irregular troops to destabilizing the region, along with cyber-attacks on critical infrastructure, according to the newspaper. Just the kind of wars the Yanks have recently failed to win in Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan, they really have lost the plot in Washington haven't they?

The conflict in Ukraine has been used by the US as a catalyst for more preparations: “Russia’s invasion of Eastern Ukraine urged the US to dust off its emergency plans. They were pretty outdated,” former US Under Secretary of Defense for Policy and co-founder of the Center for a New American Security (CNAS), Michele Flournoy, was quoted as saying.

Actually Russia has not invaded eastern Ukraine(except in the fervid imaginations of Pentagon officials and the drug fugged mind of the crack addict, rent boy President who has offered some very obviously faked photos of Russian military vehicles as 'incontrovertible evidence'.

Moscow has repeatedly denied any direct involvement in the Ukrainian conflict although they have admitted proving 'humanitarian aid. Despite repeated accusations by Kiev and its Western backers that Russia was supporting the rebelling eastern Ukrainian regions of Donetsk and Lugansk with weapons and manpower, no evidence has been presented to support the claims.

DWN adds that there are 40,000 US soldiers in Germany alone, with additional American tanks and artillery on their way to the Baltic States.

Syrian Child's Picture Goes Viral On Internet, Then Exposed As Propaganda Fraud

In the past few hours a picture purported to have been drawn and coloued by a Syrian child has prompted a knee jerk reaction from thousands of online handwringers It is a drawing that is supposed to have been given by a refugee child to the Federal Police officers processing refugee applications in the German town Passau.

It shows how brutal life has become in the home country of the child and what is expected from his new life in Germany. Since the Bavarian officials photographed the image and tweeted on Friday morning, it was shared and liked thousands of times in the social networks.

Most users were moved, but some doubted also that the drawing was genuine. "The picture was never painted a child," commented one user on Facebook. The figures were drawn deliberately childlike. "In addition, a child paints no roof in perspective". A Licensees suspected behind it a "propagandistic staging of the police".

While the Politically Correct Though Police at the Washington Post seem to have accepted the official version of events, Der Spiegel, the original source, doesn’t seem convinced, stating: “Whether the girl painted the picture alone or whether she got help from an adult, or whether perhaps only handed over the drawings of another child, is still unclear.

It is typical of those gullible dupes who think they are left wing but are just mawkishly sentimental that they would fall for such an obvious fake. The timing alone, just as the public opinion backlash against Hausfrau Volksfuhrer Merkel's Bilderberg sponsored 'open doors' immigration policy is gathering unstoppable momentum, should be enough to make people suspicious.

Pentagon Officials Planning To continue Afghanistan occupation

As The Daily Stirrer has predicted since we started in 2009 that Washington's goal was perpetual war, of the kind George Orwell described in his novel 1984. Not only does war make fear - mongering acceptable as a way of controlling the population and restricting personal liberties and civil rights, it is great for business too. It should be no surprise then to learn that US Military officials are reported to be preparing plans for keeping thousands of American (possibly augmented by personnel from other NATO members) in Afghanistan beyond the end of 2016, the scheduled date for all occupying force soldiers to leave that country.

A Wall Street Journal report from Thursday 24 September (which we picked up via Military.com revealed that Gen. John Campbell, the senior U.S. General in Afghanistan, has put forward no less than five recommendations for maintaining allied troop levels to the Pentagon and NATO officials. It is believed the options include keeping the U.S. presence at or near 10,000 troops; reducing the number to 8,000; or continuing with the current drawdown plans.

According to reports, The Pentagon has so far not made a decision on what, if any, changes in the occupation plans though a statement is expected shortly.

"Afghanistan remains a very dangerous place," President Obama said in reponse to questions about the Afghan occupation force. The president had previously said only a small force would remain in Afghanistan after 2016.

NATO and the U.S.A have about 13,000 in Afghanistan at present. Some officials worry however that too large a troop reduction could lead to increased aggression against the fragile Afghan government from the Taliban and other militant Islamists affiliated to ISIS.
