Anti immigration protests in UK seaports of Dover and Portsmouth last week have sent shockwaves through some parts of UK society as snowflakes claim to have been intimidated by the fact that many of the protestors wore black shirts and trousers and concealed their identity from facial recognition technology with face coverings.
Critics of the protests, proponents of 'open borders' policy and far left groups have been quick to throw around terms like Nazi and Fascist to describe the protestors, while screaming for authoritarian measures like curtailment of free speech, banning certain groups from holding organised gatherings and attacking the freedoms that have defined the UK's liberal democracy.
For those of us in the online news and commentary community who have followed developments in society objectively over the past ten to fifteen years, far from being a surprise these protests were inevitable as successive governments, while promising to tackle the problems caused by mass immigration in our industrial cities and towns, have done little to slow the flow of unskilled, uneducated, illiterate and unemployable migrants lured to the UK by our over - generous welfare system and lax enforcement of rules on who is eligible to claim certain benefits.
As a consequence of this civil unrest has been growing and Britain’s liberal consensus is being hollowed out by the very people who claim to be protecting it. The immediate threat is not a fascist movement massing on the Right, identifiable by their black shirts and pursuing a racist nd authoritarian agenda. It is progressive authoritarianism embraced by our three main political parties and already embedded within our institutions and its increasingly brazen accommodation of Islamism alongside the suppression of groups and parties seeking to reform certain institutions that worked well in the 1960s but are hopelessly outdated now.
Fascism destroyed democracy in Europe during the 1930s. History is unlikely to return wearing the same uniform. In Britain today, the assault on individual liberty, universal citizenship and our Judeo-Christian inheritance comes principally from the people who identify themselves as The Left.
Germany has just provided an insight into where this disconnect between the tax - paying majority and the law making elite leads. This week in Saxony-Anhalt, the AfD, routinely branded a far right party, won nearly 44% of the vote while the governing CDU collapsed to just 17%. Predictably, the Establishment reached for the word ‘fascist’. But that evades the more important question: why did almost half the electorate abandon the centre?
They did not suddenly develop a longing for jackboots. Many simply noticed that their rulers no longer defended their borders, prosperity or culture, the centre was no longer the political centre in a liberal socuety, it had become the central authority of a bureaucratic dictatorship. Worse, the metropolitan lanyard class considered the people who voted AfD in protest at the direction of the old ruling duopoly morally defective for having the temerity to notice this shift from liberalism to authoritarianism.
When mainstream politicians decline the task of defending a country’s Germanic - Roman inheritance, indulge imported ideologies that resist assimilation and silence objections to this cultural vandalism as extremism, voters eventually find someone less polite who will listen. This pushback has now reached Spain where earlier this year the socialist government's grant of citizenship to almost a million illegal immigrants triggered widespread rioting.
The AfD victory in a sparsely populated German province does not prove that fascism has returned to Europe. It proves that calling every objection to mass immigration and cultural disintegration fascist no longer frightens voters back into line. Progressive authoritarianism does not suppress the nationalist backlash. It manufactures it as has happened in the UK, France and Italy as well. Only Sweden,with its 'smash the gangs' policy, has so far succeeded in turning back the tide of uncontrolled immigration.
For years, the consensus of the UK legacy parties insisted that any threat to British democracy must come from the Right. The familiar pantomime villain was a tattooed skinhead marching down Whitehall in a black shirt and bovver boots. Meanwhile, authoritarianism was quietly establishing itself inside the institutions supposedly defending us from it. A slow, decades-long march by Left-wing activists through our cultural, educational, media and political institutions was eroding the values that defined Britain.
Here lies the central thesis of the modern crisis. The grand illusion that keeps the British Establishment blind to its own undoing. The ultimate red herring is the Left’s constant, obsessive smearing of the Right as ‘fascist’ or ‘pre-fascist’: a brilliant, subversive smokescreen designed to conceal its own descent into statit authoritarianism.
Socialism, Fascism, National Socialism share the same roots: elevation of the State above the individual; central economic planning and control. (Aka any British and European Government.)
Both National Socialism and Fascism used Socialist ideology in the cause of the Nation State – the struggle between Nations instead of a class-struggle.
The latter two only differed from Socialism because whereas the former took ownership of the “means of production” and directed it from the centre, they left the “means of production” in private hands but directed it from the centre – tomayto/tomahto.
Saying Fascism is not Socialism, is like saying Anglicanism is not Christianity because unlike Catholicism it does not accept transubstantiation.
And: National Socialism with its emphasis on racial purity and Aryan superiority is NOT Fascism. Yet the two are conflated.
As you say, a brilliant trick posing the antithesis of Socialism and its opponents as “fascism” and “fascists” and therefore evil, and then the Left are good and pure.
Worse: it’s not just the Left, it’s the supposed Right or Centre-Right (whatever that is) who propagate the lie. Democracy fractures when institutions stop defending free speech, freedom of religion and equality before the law, leaving citizens politically homeless, and this is what has happened and is happening across Europe.
“Europe never had democracy” a defence of the onslaught against democracy often used by the authoritarian statists, is too sweeping. Britain, France and Weimar Germany plainly did. Nor can Fascism be separated entirely from race. Italian Fascism initially emphasised nationhood, but Mussolini’s regime later imposed colonial segregation and the racial laws of 1938.
Britain has spent years searching the horizon for imaginary blackshirts while progressive Marxism and political Islam have steadily weakened the liberal order from within. Fascism destroyed Weimar in the 1930s. The totalitarian impulse has not disappeared. It has changed its language, its costume and its preferred entrance. It represents government increasingly insulated from the people it governs.

brothers.
Women are packing up and leaving the Spanish
enclave. Local residents describe a city abandoned by its the government

A mother broke down on live TV this week, describing the daily terror for her teenage daughter.
“My 16-year-old daughter has to go everywhere with her father or with
me because the migrants devour her. I can’t take it anymore. I want

are Muslim—but they can’t invade us. What’s stayed here is the worst of

of migrants moving through southern Algeria toward the border with
Morocco, accompanied and escorted by Algerian military vehicles. Opposition party Vox slammed the government of Sanchez for failing to deal with the first influx and doing nothing to stop a second.
This migratory movement cannot be interpreted as a mere coincidence or a
spontaneous phenomenon. Algeria, with a large military deployment and
detailed knowledge of migration routes within its territory, routinely

The biggest news story of the year so far has filled online, print and broadcast news this week as an estimated 49,000 illegal migrants entered the tiny Spanish enclave of Ceuta from Morocco within 24 hours.
The figure, attributed to estimates used by Spain’s Department of Defense Security and confirmed by two ministerial sources, would amount to roughly 59 percent of Ceuta’s population of approximately 83,000.
The influx began with migrants swimming around the coastal border fence, enticed by a Spanish Supreme Court ruling earlier this month that prevented immediate pushbacks of people entering Spanish territory by sea. As the flow intensified, footage showed thousands gathering at the frontier before overwhelming the border infrastructure and entering the autonomous city.
The Spanish government later announced the deployment of the armed forces to support the Civil Guard, despite initially refusing to rule out the declaration of a national emergency.
Spanish military personnel were eventually deployed alongside police to the streets of Ceuta after thousands of migrants from North Africa stormed the exclave on Thursday.
The Spanish territory, which borders Morocco in North Africa, was inundated with arrivals who overwhelmed police.
At least nine people have died trying to reach the exclave, Spanish authorities said.
Footage
showed migrants swimming towards a crowded shore, while thousands more stormed through border gates, completely overwhelming the few border guards on duty.
While the land border is protected by a 10m-high security fence and is heavily policed by Spain and Morocco, arrivals by sea are protected by a new court ruling.

Recent foggy conditions and warm sea
temperatures probably led to the surge in arrivals. According to state
broadcaster TVE, 2,000 to 3,000 people had crossed the border on
Thursday.
However, the government said the ruling was not a factor
in the sharp increase in crossings, instead blaming “exploitation by
mafias and criminal organisations”.
“It has been a slow trickle
since the supreme court’s ruling [granting amnesty to a million illegal immigrants already in Spain,], but today has been an explosion,” a
spokesman for the Guardia Civil told Reuters.
In Melilla, although
the situation was more muted, clashes and fires were reported at Beni
Ansar, the exclave’s only border crossing with Morocco.
When Pedro Sánchez,
Spain’s prime minister, declared shortly afterwards that “practically
all” of them had returned to Morocco, relief quickly gave way to mockery
– even though almost nobody had bothered to verify Madrid’s claims.

reception centres – one for adults and another for minors – had
“collapsed”, the local mayor said.
But the official narrative from Madrid is that everything is under control, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s outrage, and her suggestion that Schengen free movement
with Spain might have to be temporarily suspended is wildly overblown, and merely a political ploy apparently. So too was the criticism coming from other European
capitals.
German leftist weekly Die Zeit denounced what
it called “fact-free Spain-bashing” and went further still: “The new
arrivals were returned quickly and without bureaucracy, so precisely
what conservative and Right-wing parties always demand has happened.”
It would be comforting if that were true. It is not.
The reality is far messier – and it brutally exposes the EU’s impotence on migration.
Some reports from North Africa suggest these mobs of young male economic migrants are an Islamic 'forlorn hope', an expeditionary force sent to test European defences, as are the "small
boats" currently ferrying many thousands of young Muslim men into
Britain. Madrid insists that “almost everyone” who entered the North African
enclave during last week’s unprecedented influx has already been
returned to Morocco.

The real invasion is yet to come, but come it will. History, it i said, repeats itself and the Islamic attack on Europe has happened several times before in the last 1500

Europe,
under the EU, has been weak on borders by removing most of them and not
protecting the few that are left. They've also been importing migrants
en masse, often to the dislike of their own citizens, for decades.
Those who arrive / are found / arrested are treated like victims and
given what they need at the cost of tax-paying citizens, who don't
necessarily support government action / inaction on migration and the recent EU Migration Pact, dubbed Europe's suicide pact, came into force there has been a huge backlash against open borders policy. The
message this sends to the world is that anyone can just rock up and stay
and be paid for. Until governments change the message, this problem

harsh reality: too much sunshine has created an energy glut, crashing

In Spain, solar panels make much more sense than in the northern latitudes of UK with our cloudy skies and loooooong winter nights. So much sense that they’re producing too much
energy, causing the price electricity companies pay producers to drop drastically. What happens then? Sell the excess energy
to someone else – the French, or us – lowering prices elsewhere?
Nope,
the grid and interconnectors can’t take the surplus energy, last year a sunny spell in summer overloaded transformers on the national distribution grid and knocked out electricity supply to homes and businesses over a large part of the country. Continue covering thousands of square miles of productive agricultural land with panels that produce electricity nobody wants and Store it? Nope: no-one
bothered to think about storage technology (or rather the lack of it).
Provide the energy to Ramon and Luz in the house down the road, at a
zero price? Nope, not allowed: because the whole push is wrapped in a
bonkers guaranteed-price straitjacket.
So, instead: switch off the solar plant. Yes switch them off because the gas and nuclear power stations must be kept running in order to level the loading on the grid when supplies from intermittent sources suddenly fluctuate. These fabulous solutions to pollution, supposedly providing cheap energy, have to be switched off to keep the price high. For years this blog has been saying Net Zero is a scam built on the Climate Catastrophe hoax.
It’s tempting to read this as “greedy investors gaming a badly thought out system, traducing good intentions”; that is certainly our
problem in Britain, particularly net zero crazy Scotland where energy producers are paid more for NOT producing electricity than they earn from current fed into the grid, and there may be some element of it in Spain.
But whether it’s the evil Capitalists putting up the
money, or government doing it directly (and the generation/transmission
complex is a textbook case of potential market failure), someone has to pay
for the construction and maintenance of these expensive, brand-new
solar plants and they are not cheap to build and maintain. Perhaps this prioritising theory over reality is why green power has failed so miserably.
It seems to me that a guaranteed future price is one of the most counter productive ways of raising the money. As your friendly local
free-market economist will tell you, it suppresses an important signal.
Some signal is getting through nevertheless, and investment in solar
in Spain is drying up. What’s wrong with that? Well, it’s only wrong
because Spain has to expand solar, according to Book of Net
Zero 1:1 – even if the market signals (and the underlying realities they
reflect) don’t make it worthwhile. Build more solar plants, and switch
them (and the existing ones) off more often.
The logic of the Net Zero lobby is totally insane.

Among the new measures included in new EU is a clause allowing controversial return hubs outside the bloc and home
searches. These are the main points that aroused leftist anger, as conservatives who had previously been 'on message' voted with so called far-right groups to pass the
legislation.
The vote confirmed the emergence of a right-leaning majority in
Parliament on migration issues. The centre-right European People's Party
(EPP) once again aligned with the right-wing European Conservatives and
Reformists (ECR) and the far-right Patriots for Europe (PfE) and Europe
of Sovereign Nations (ESN).Several MEPs from the liberal Renew Europe
group also back the bill.
The EPP continues to rule out formal cooperation with parties it
considers too extreme, including the far-right Alternative for Germany
(AfD) and France's National Rally and Vox in Spain. EPP leader Manfred Weber has
repeatedly rejected the prospect of formal alliances with such forces
But the EPP sees their votes as crucial for tougher migration
legislation, creating an alternative majority to the traditional
centrist coalition of the EPP, Socialists and Democrats (S&D) and
Renew Europe.
European Commission Migration Commissioner Magnus Brunner and
Executive Vice-President Henna Virkkunen said in a statement issued shortly after the vote: “Our citizens expect us to manage migration effectively. When people
with no right to stay remain in the EU, the credibility of our entire
migration policy is undermined … and [this] diminishes Europe’s ability
to attract and retain talent and skills.”
With anti-immigrant sentiment boosting far-right parties across
Germany, France, Austria, the Netherlands and Sweden, Europe’s center
right — led by the European People’s Party (EPP) — is scrambling to
prove to voters that the political mainstream still has migration under
control.
The Commission’s initiative derives from a striking statistic: In
2023 over 480,000 people were ordered to leave the EU — but only one in
five actually did so.
While the official goal of the plan is to enforce existing migration
rules, the primary aim is political: Holding off the far right.
“Migration … is often exploited by populists for political gain,” Virkkunen said.

Both National Socialism and Fascism used Socialist ideology in the cause of the Nation State – the struggle between Nations instead of a class-struggle.

Nor can Fascism be separated entirely from race. Italian Fascism initially emphasised nationhood, but Mussolini’s regime later imposed colonial segregation and the racial laws of 1938.
Britain has spent years searching the horizon for imaginary blackshirts while progressive Marxism and political Islam have steadily weakened the liberal order from within. Fascism destroyed Weimar in the 1930s. The totalitarian impulse has not disappeared. It has changed its language, its costume and its preferred entrance. It represents government increasingly insulated from the people it governs.
