Small Victory For Common Sense - UK Government To Relax Targets For Switch To EVs

 The much hyped transition to electric vehicles on our roads seems to have stalled.

It was annouced today that amid falling sales and mounting losses for car makers EV projects the Government is ready to relax rules mandating the switch to electric vehicles after a backlash from carmakers amid weak sales and job cuts. Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds, is due in the next few days to announce a fast-track consultation on potential policy changes to the phase-out of petrol engines at an industry gathering.

The rethink comes after Mr. Reynolds and Louise Haigh, the Transport secretary, last week met senior executives from major UK carmakers, trade groups and charging network operators.

Ministers are expected to increase the flexibility open to companies as they seek to meet the zero-emission vehicles (ZEV) mandate, which requires an ever-greater percentage of their sales to be electric over the next six years, as poor uptake by private buyers and numerous technical problems, aloong with massive losses on each vehicle sold are pushing manufactures to meet targets simply by scaling back production of ICE cars, which has the knock on effect of causing job losses.

The Government is expected to stand by its commitment to a final 2030 deadline for an end to the sale of new petrol and diesel vehicles. However, it is also likely to suggest that carmakers will be able to delay cuts to petrol and diesel sales in the run-up to 2030, provided they make up for it by selling even more electric cars later on.Such measures are unlikely to help mitigate any immediate risk of job cuts, lost investment and factory closures, as manufacturing costs, rising insurance premiums and safety concerns are all hitting EV sales.

Ford last week announced that it would cut 800 jobs across Britain amid reduced production of key electric models, while Nissan warned that EV targets risked doing “irreversible” damage to the U.K. industry. Stellantis, the owner of Vauxhall, has said it could mothball plants in Ellesmere Port and Luton employing 1,000 people unless rules are relaxed, and confirmed late this afternoon that the Luton factory will close..

With the news that the Vauxhall factory in Luton is closing with a large loss of jobs we now begin to see the topsy-turvy land in which EV and electricity from 'sustainables live in. We have been told a million times that the transition away from CO2 producing industries would lead to many new jobs but all we hear from the 'green blob' is of job losses and likely power blackouts. The Government pushing EVs can be compared in terms of absurdity to their pushing for us all to switch to using chocolate teapots. It is quite frightening how our Globalist over-lords seem so happy to impose this poor new technology on us and insist we make it work. When the chocolate teapot melts and the tea pours on the floor, they will doubtless blame us for not making the tea properly.

The hardest to be hit by any hypothesized ridiculous target of phasing out ICE cars by 2030 will be drivers on low incomes. To suggest that electric or even hybrid cars plus their insurance will be affordable to your average commuter by 2030? Well, pie-in-the-sky doesn’t quite cut it. This will mean that, should this fantasy become reality, a very significant proportion of previous drivers will either be bankrupted by the finance on the car they can’t afford, or they just won’t own one. This introduces extreme lifestyle limitations, like, for example, the small matter of being able to earn a living.

With perfect timing a new documentary  Thank Yiu Dr. Fauci, by Peabody Award-winning and Emmy nominated director Jenner Furst, a self-described progressive liberal who has truned his back on the the Democratic party over its increasingly authoritarian positions on just about everything, promises to bring all the cases against the COVID together.

The director's previous work has been heavily reviewed, critically acclaimed, and streamed across Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, and Paramount.

Given the level of censorship the film has been subject to, Furst firmly believes that a massive free speech platform such X would be ideal to get the word out - if even for a couple of days.

As the pandemic dominated news coverage  around the world for almost three years, the scientific community positioned US Government scientific adviser Tony Fauci - and eventually the Covid vaccines themselves - against Donald Trump, who was open to both the lab-leak theory and alternative treatments such as ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine.

Fauci's top advisors - who initially believed the virus looked manmade, crafted and promoted the narrative that COVID-19 most likely jumped from bats to humans through an intermediary species, "probably at a wet market," Fauci repeatedly insisted.

The lab-leak theory was condemned as a conspiracy theory by the very scientists conducting gain-of-function research, completely ignoring the fact that the virus emerged across town from a US-funded facility in Wuhan, China that was creating chimeric bat COVID, where several workers fell ill with a mysterious respiratory virus weeks before the disease spread like wildfire.

The Elite's Main Failing Is Their Inability To Take Resposibility For Their Failures

While America's Democrats (philosophically progressive liberals and radical socialists,) continue to blame victorious Republican candidate Donald Trump, along with stupid voters, Elon Musk, misinformation, conspiracy theorists, racism, sexism, Christianity, bad pizzas and El Nino and Zionism for their humiliating defeat in America's election, they are deluding themselves. 

Meanwhile across the Atlantic in Britain the socialist government of the Gaybour party, having won a resounding victory in our election mostly due to our dysfunctional electoral system rather than their popularity, and now learning that they did not win because they and their policies are popular, but because they are slightly less unpopular among the public than their predecessors. 

One quality these elites share is their failure or inability to accept responsibilityfor their failures. Thus, instead of asking themselves why they are already less popular than the previous government, Gaybour are blaming Donald Trump, stupid voters, Nigel Farage, misinformation, homophobia, non - crime hate incidents, Anti - Semitism, Tommy Robinson, social media, Islamophobia, fossil fuels and Vladimir Putin for the fact that people are rioting in protest against their far left programme.

The thing the Democrats and Labour Party have in common is that in common with leftist parties all around they world is both are incapable of seeing their own shortcomings and therefore understanding why the voting public do not engage with their radical policies. Both are completely out of touch with the people they are elected to represent.

Apart from wasting taxpayers money on virtue signalling and vanity projects and becoming obsessed with pursuing projects that adversely affect the wellbeing and prosperity of low and middle income voters while producing no discernable benefit for the great majority of voters, things like net zero, mass immigration and manadatory medication, their control freakery and deteermination to expand the bureaucracy to enable micro - management of every aspect of public and private life can only alienate voters.

Don’t they realize that their compulsion to impose regulation on all activities is crushing humanity, endangering the structure of civilised societies and causing loss of life and loss of livelihood? That there has never been such an anti - human agenda in the history of mankind. The insane logic of the 'woke' ideology is roughly the equivalient of telling a man that the only reason he cannot breathe is he has not been sufficiently strangled!

Actually the collapse of civilizations throughout history is invariably the product of such inane regulations driving a wedge between the people and the elite. When people rebel the elites try to justify murdering mankind with brutal “regulations” and then justifying the introduction of fascistic laws and policing by pointing to the civil disorder oppressive policies have created. No population has ever been regulated into prosperity or good health.

Were one to travel around the earth from end to end and observe the damages excessive regulations like those advocated by socialist and progressive politicians, how they have they have extinguished human industry, enterprise and prosperity would quickly become clear .

A classic case of a regulation that has no value whatsoever are the very similar prescription drug rules in the USA and UK that make you first go to the Doctor and then Pharmacy as in the USA. In almost every nation and people on earth can just go to the Pharmacy with slip of paper from an MD you just ask the Pharmacist (Chemist) for the drug and they sell it. Only in the case of dugs that can be dangerous if misused is there a need for tighter controls. 

The list of such regulations  in all walks of life and the bureaucracy they support creates only poverty and human misery. Yes I have been where the official perscriptions are not needed. Drug abuse is the very highest in lands where drugs are most tightly controlled. The system doesn’t even curb drug abuse, it causes it. People die because of this regulation and yet leftist politicians keep extending regulation and state intervention.

So liberals and socialists, dump the utopian rhetoric and the lies justifying your control freakery and take a good long look at yourselves if you want to undrrstand why voters turn against you. Latest Western Escalation With Russia Will Resolve Nothing But Puts Us All In Danger

 

Sorry to keep going on about Ukraine this week readers, but the major escalation in the scale of conflict over the past few days takes this pointless war of the USA, its Nato backers, an their Ukrainian proxy against Russia to a new and even more dangerous level. 

Following the irrational US decision to grant permission for Ukraine to use US Army Tactical Missile Systems — ATACMS — to strike deep into Russian territory (and the even more ridiculous 'me too' move by virtue signalling UK Prime Minister Kweir Smarmer on the use of British Stprm Shadow missiles, and the obscenely hasty way the neo - Nazi nutters in Kiev launched long range strikes on targets deep inside Russian territory, in response Moscow fired what it says is a new ballistic missile at Dnipro in Ukraine. While the Russian missile carried conventional warheads, it is capable of delivering a nuclear payload, sending an unmistakable signal to Ukraine and the West.

In an even more unmistakable response to Washington’s consideration of these deeper strikes, Vladimir Putin this week lowered Russia’s threshold for nuclear weapons use in its official doctrine. The change says that Russia might use nuclear weapons to respond to a conventional attack on its territory by a nation that is supported by a nuclear power. Moscow is, in other words, warning that it might resort to nuclear war over Washington and London allowing Ukraine to fire US missiles at Russia.

Unfortunately for the west this situation is not as simple as Demented Joe Biden and stupid Keir SStarmer saying, 'We've given you the missiles boy, now go for it, fill yer boots.

Foreign policy elites in Washington and Europe largely dismiss escalation danger in Ukraine. They argue that crossing various Russian red lines — by sending tanks, F-16s, allowing the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) to hit Russian territory, and tolerating Ukraine’s assassinations and drone attacks in Russia — has already called Putin’s bluff, and we need not worry about escalation, even the nuclear sort.

This misreads the situation. In the west the official narrative since Russuan troops crossed the border into Ukrain has been that Russia is the aggressor. However since a 2013 coup d'etat, enhineered by Washington and NATO, the government installed in Kiev had been waging a civil war, a campaign of ethnic cleansing, against the people of Russian speaking provinces in eastern Ukraine.

Mainstream media coverage of the conflict in the west hides the true nature of what has been going on. Russia did not react because Ukraine has struck deep into Russia, the Ukies have done so before, nor because Ukraine used US-NATO supplied weapons. Ukraine has done that before too, with Russia showing restraint when it could deploy air power to flatten Ukrainoan cities.

The truth is setting up and aiming ATACMS and Storm Shadows must be done by US and UK personnel respectively; what Russia reacted to is the fact that the ATACMS and Storm Shadow attacks were perpetrated by, and under the direct orders and responsibility of, the US and the UK. Moscow has indicated before it is looking for a negotiated settlement, but the Ukies, under pressure from Washington we suspect, insists it will only agree a ceasfire if Moscow agrees to all its demands. This is obviously insane, the war has inflicted so much economic and social damage on Ukraine it is doubted the country can ever recover.

By all standards of international law, the US, the UK, the EU, NATO, and sundry others have long crossed the threshold from neutral to belligerent, but Russia chose not make an issue of it just as they chose not to make an issue of the eastward expansion of NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organisation,) to iclude former Soviet states that are nowhere near the Atlantic Ocean. When, in the wake of the 2013 coup, the western power initiated moves to recruit Ukraine into NATO, that was more than Russia was ever going to tolerate.

 Likewise on the issue of US and UK personnel firing ATACMS and Storm Shadows at Russia, Russia drew a red line. US and UK have crossed this red line and by doing so effectively declared war on Russia. Even in the hottest phases of the Cold War, both sides took care never to actually shoot at each other’s territory.

Russia has shown remarkable maturity and restraint, in face of mind-boggling irresponsibility and belligerence from Western leaders. It is high time the immature apprentice sorcerers populating our ministries and general staffs are cleared out and replaced with adults, people whose background in business has taught them that constantly provoking a rival can never end well. People like Donald Trump and Nigel Farage.

Ukraine’s only hope of getting through this war without its cities being flattened WWII-style has always been to avoid precisely the kind of escalation it has just inveigled of Biden Starmer and the neo-cons. It must be obvious to  everybody now that the was was never simply Russia versus Ukraine, but from day one and long before that a war waged by the USA, NATO and the EU (with Ukraines as their hapless proxies,) against Russia with the aim of effecting regime change in Moscow and probably as a secondary goal enabling western corporate interests to gain control of Russias vast reserves of nstural resources. The west has failed, neither side can win, only the innocent Ukrainian population are losing. Time to negotiate.

Correction: Russia Did Not Hit Ukraine With An ICBM Yesterday - The Strike Weapon Was Something Worse

 

Yesterday we reported that Russia had launched a ICBM (Inter Continental Ballistic Missile,) at and struck a target in Ukraine. We were wrong, which is a risk always associated with using as a source misinformation published by US / NATO security agencies

A day after Russia's attack on Ukraine with what were clearly big, very fast and new intermediate-range missiles, and which both mainstream and alternative news outlets initially reported to be an ICBM, the Kremlin is touting that it launched a cutting-edge hypersonic missile for which there is no defensive intercept capability.

Russia says that Washington has now understood and been able to grasp Putin's warnings and red lines more clearly following the missile strike a Ukrainian defense industry facility in Dnepropetrovsk Thursday morning. The new hypersonic weapon, dubbed 'Oreshnik' is capable of delivering a nuclear warhead.

"We have no doubt that the current administration in Washington has had the opportunity to familiarize itself with this announcement and understand it," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters. Putin had said the West's escalation, seen this week in authorizing Ukraine's long-range strikes on Russia with US/UK-made weapons, makes Ukraine a "global" conflict.

Here are the facts as known at the time of writing:

As a results of direct attack of U.S.against Russia with ATACMS ballistic missiles followed by attack of UK against Russia with Storm Shadow cruise missiles from Ukrainian territory in last two days NATO provided casus belli on which base RF asserted Article 51 of UNC about unalienable right to self defense. No sovereign country would allow aggression to go unpunished so is Russian Constitution.

This morning Russians responded with last warning and demonstrated awesome power of just one of their new Oreshnik aeroballistic hypersonic missiles never before showcased intermediate range up to 3000 km aeroballistic missile and wipe out entire industrial area of Ukrainian city of Dnipro with up to 36 conventional warheads in six independently guided MIRV packages. The same weapon can easily reach every European capital in the matter of minutes.Russia May have 200 of them since 2019 Trump gutted INF treaty.

"The unique feature of the Oreshnik missile system is that, firstly, it is a medium-range missile – it flies to a distance of 1,000 km to 5,500 km – and secondly, it is hypersonic, flying at a speed of Mach 10," a retired Russian Army colonel and military analyst, identified as Viktor Litovkin, told Sputnik.

"The West does not have missiles that fly at such a speed or hypersonic missiles at all," he continued. "Although the US has repeatedly boasted that it has such missiles, it has never demonstrated a missile flight. They appeared to show missiles that flew at a supersonic speed of 5.5 times the speed of sound or Mach 5.5. However, hypersonic speed begins at Mach 6-7."

Independent geopolitical site Moon of Alabama describes this new missile technology as a huge game-changer [emphasis ZH]:

Launched from Russia the missile can reach any target in Europe in less than 20 minutes. On reentry into the atmosphere the warheads of the missile reach hypersonic speeds of 3-4 kilometer per second. There is no air defense system in the world that could stop them.

The surprising and successful demonstration of such an enormous capability is a wake-up call for European strategists.

Lulled in by neoconservative talk of western supremacy and presumed Russian inabilities the Europeans were eager to connect their fate to a proxy war against Russia. Having been defeated in the fight for the commodities of the Donbas region they have pushed for extending the reach of their weapons into Russia.

The results are now in. Europe is defenseless against new Russian weapons which can reach every political and industrial center of Europe with devastating power and with just minutes of notice.

It is now clear that by giving the insaniacs in Kiev permission and the means to strike inside Russia, the outgoing Dementiaman regime in the USA and the attention seeking, terrorist defending, rapist enabling, Jew hating, Paedophile loving sociopath Prime Minister in the  UK effectively effectively declared war on Russia. That beig the case, let's hope Donald Trump, when sworn in, can deliver on his promise to end the war, not neccessarily on day one as he said, but within his first thirty days would be wonderful.

Russia 'fires Intercontinental Ballistic Missile' at Ukraine, Will Crazy Joe Biden Heed The Warning?

Only days after the USA, UK and Ukraine’s governments escalated the conflict with Russia by granting permission for and firing medium range guided missiles into Russian territory, the Kiev regime  has reported that Russia launched an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) overnight, targeting the central-eastern city of Dnipro. If confirmed, this would mark the first time Moscow has used such a missile in the ongoing conflict.

In a statement released Thursday via the Telegram messaging app, Ukraine’s Air Force did not specify the exact type of missile but confirmed it was launched from Russia's Astrakhan region, which borders the Caspian Sea. Along with the ICBM, Russia reportedly fired eight other missiles at the city. Ukrainian sources claim their air defence system successfully intercepted six of the incoming missiles.

 We add our uual caveat that claims from either side in this conflict should be treated with scitcism. In this case while Russia has not commented on the Ukrainian claim, a United Nations official has stated that none of the missiles fired at Dnipro was an ICBM

While the use of an ICBM may seem excessive for such a target, these missiles are typically equipped with nuclear warheads. The launch serves as a stark reminder of Russia’s nuclear capabilities and raises concerns of further escalation in the war. In view of Putin's recent warning that if Ukraine contined to launch missile attacks on its territory, a nuclear response was possible.

This is an inevitable development of Kiev's insanse decision to escalate the conflict by firing much less powerful missiles with shorter ranges into Russian territory. Who exactly makes the decisions is an open question. 

Russia's firing ICBMs at insignificant targets that has little to do with military logistics or the Armed Forces of Ukraine suggests this is a warning to the war loving loonies in Washington.

On Sunday, news broke that President Joe Biden has authorized Ukraine to use long-range American missiles to strike deeper into Russian territory. After the US gave Ukraine the greenlight to strike targets on the Russian side of the border earlier this year, the Ukrainian government and its biggest cheerleaders in Washington have been pressuring the president to support longer-range strikes—especially after Ukraine launched its invasion of Russia’s Kursk region. Sunday, they got their wish. On Tuesday, the first missile was launched at a target in Russia’s Bryansk region and the UK's attention seeking Prime Minister also gave permission for Ukrain to use missiles from Britain on Russian targets.

These moves have caused concern among many diplomats and military leaders in the West as the situation is seen as having moved the global community several steps towards all out war..

 In September, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered a change to Russia’s nuclear doctrine. According to the changes, the Kremlin now considers an attack on Russia carried out by a non-nuclear state with the support of a nuclear-armed power to be a joint attack. Also, under the new doctrine, a conventional attack that poses a “critical threat to Russian sovereignty” now meets the official threshold to trigger a Russian nuclear response. Yesterday, those changes were made official.

The American weapon system the Ukrainians are now using is the Army Tactical Missile System or ATACMS. They have a range of 190 miles and, importantly, require the US or its allies to provide the targeting coordinates every time it’s shot. So, the US is not merely allowing the Ukrainians to fire missiles deeper into Russia, it’s actively helping them do so. The British missiles are Anglo - French Storm Shadow missiles which do not have a large payload and cannot deliver nuclear warheads.

Because of this escalation, which some pundits have described as an attempt by the USA and UK to start World War 3 before President elect Trump, who has pledged to ened the war quickly, can be sworn into office in January. Thus there is speculation that the latest attack on Ukraine is a warning to US that Russia will not tolerate efforts by the USA / NATO to prolong their proxy war with Russia.

The conflict has evolved into a more international issue with the arrival of North Korean troops to support Russia on the battlefield, a development that US officials say led President Joe Biden to adjust his policy on allowing Ukraine to use longer-range US missiles against Russia. In response, the Kremlin has threatened further escalation.

The Democrats, Biden's party, heavily defeated in the recent election, have always been the party of war, it's just that most Americans do not pay very close attention, nor do they know their history and so cling to the belief, nurtured in the short presidency of John F Kennedy, that the Democrats are peaceniks. If you still believe this narrative, check out the track record prior to the 21st century: WW I - Wilson,, WW II - Roosevelt and Truman, Korea - Truman, Vietnam - Johnson and Eisenhower (Republican,) Balkans Clinton,  All American involvement in these wars was started by democrat presidents. After 2000 the situation gets murkier with Bush, Obama, Trump and Biden all having intervened in continuing conflicts in the world's major trouble spots.

Much of the latest noise from The Black Sea are is pure propaganda, ATACMS , SCALP and Storm Shadows have been employed by Ukraine since 2023... there are headline of the Ukie propaganda machine celebrating the attacks. Unfortunately theRussians are not playing by the same rules. Ironically detached Westerners must learn that war and geopolitics are not a game. They are serious business with very serious consequences.

So in defence of Russia, we must remind ourselves that their enemies wish to dismantle the country into little statelets that they can colonize or indirectly rule, but mainly gain control of the wealth of natural resources in this vast territory.And those western leaders who think it is a game need to be made aware that within the era of recorded history, Russia has never lost a home game. Russia shall never fall. She may stumble from time to time but she always gets back up. There are more than a thousand years of suffering in the Russian people's bones. The Russians are as well prepared as anyone in the world to survive hardship and grow stronger because of it. All this must be done within 10 days.
