Hate-crime Laws Are An Attack On Free Speech And A Violation Of Human Rights

 Hate crime (whatever that is,) seems to be the only crime the police, the judiciary and the political establishment are interested in these days. But when some act or statement, either spoken or written, can be defined as a criminal act of 'hate speech' by anyone who decides they have been offended by it, is the means pf prosecuting the alleged offender anything to do with justice, or is it the weaponisation of law against freedom and human rights?

The vague nature of the term "hatred" means it is open to interpretation, probably based on perceived insults rather than objective crimes. This means it can be used arbitrarily by the police and the courts for political purposes and will be used by supporters of the 'woke' left, an extremist ideology supposedly supportive of minorities but which in reality works by oppressing the majority.

However, this should not be our main concern about the terrible new laws now in use against free speech and personal liberty in Scotland, Canada, Germany and soon to be passed into law in several other nations. 

It is likely the number of people going to jail because of such criminal laws will be small, especially given that prisons are already full to overflowing with real criminals, terrorists and people who have said climate change is not man made. The main problem is that anybody can log a "hate" incident online, anonymously if preferred, that will create a permanent record against someone's name, whether or not they are charged, a record which can be made known to a prospective employer, who will likely refuse such a person employment. 

This is a snitches charter, one of the methods used by tyrants since tyranny was invented. There is huge scope for malevolent and vexatious reporting of "hate" incidents, and the accused person may not even be aware of such a report. This is the truly evil aspect of this law, as it bypasses the normal legal processes of redress and denies a person the opportunity to defend themselves. 

A totally innocent person's life may be ruined simply because an anonymous report about them has been logged by somebody motivated by malice who puts a twisted interpretation on what, taken in its proper context, was an innocuous remark. There is no comeback for the accused person if that report is made maliciously because it can also be made anonymously.We may not even know the identity of our accuser or the nature of our offence, which is a blatant violation of the right to a fair trial.

Amidst some stiff competition from the likes of Scotland and Ireland and surprisingly perhaps, Nigeria, perhaps the most ill-conceived piece of web-related anti-free speech legislation currently being pushed through in the Western world today is Canada’s appalling Online Harms Act, a real pet project of the nation’s present simpering woke man-child PM, Justin Trudeau. So badly written is it, Canadian web-users may soon be seeking asylum in downtown Lagos, where they will probably be infinitely more free to speak their hateful little minds, whether specifically about tomatoes or otherwise.

Already eviscerated by the Daily Sceptic, the provisions of this Act have aptly been deemed “Orwellian” due to their incredibly illiberal provisions which, astonishingly, allow provincial Canadian judges to order individuals to be placed under house arrest if they deem there to be “reasonable grounds” to believe a person “will commit” an offence of “online harm” hate-speech in the future. That’s the basic plot of Philip K. Dick’s dystopian novella Minority Report come true; Minority Report 2 -Protected Minority Report? I see a blockbuster franchise in the making.

According to Trudeau’s Justice Minister and Attorney General Arif Virani, who is responsibe for drafting the Bill pushing the Act into law, who claims his motivation was that he was “terrified of the dangers that lurk on the internet for our children”. Aanybody who has read the history of the 20th century's great wars would be much more terrified of the dangers that currently lurk inside the West’s ‘democratic’ parliament assemblies for our freedom and Geneva Convention rights, Mr. Virani being a prime example of such hazards.

According to the mollifying mantras of individuals such as Virani, however, the harshest uses of Bill C-63, as it will be known, will supposedly be used very, very sparingly indeed – an offender would specifically have to portray a protected group (i.e., all the usual ones) as being “inherently violent” or “unhuman” to be prosecuted under threat of the greatest punishments available, to such an extent that their words could be considered to be advocating genocide. If somebody is found guilty of this particular offence, they might well be sentenced to life imprisonment.

‘Islamophobia’ Is Being Used By Islamists To Suppress Debate

Steven Pollard in The Jewish Chronicle claims the concept of ‘Islamophobia’ was created in Iran to silence any critique as racist.

 “It is entirely right to call out anti-Muslim hatred”, says Pollard, adding that banning 'hate speech' is.one thing but calling any criticism of Islam hate speech or Islamophobia to silence those who find some aspects of Islam barbaric is an attack on the right of free speech in the way that Jewish extremists will cry 'anti - semitism' whenever anybody utters reasonable criticism of the Israeli government's treatment of Palestinians.

Pollard overlooks an important point however. Nobody ever calls out “Anti-Christian Hatred” examples of which, from Islamic extremist preachers, can be heard or read every day, so why should Islam or Judaism get special status? The whole concept of “hate speech” is utterly alien to the West, and has no place in western laws.

Now I cannot be considered a Christian by any stretch of the imagination, in fact to those who tell me that if I was baptized ( I was,) then I am a Christian for life, like The Hotel California, you can check out but you can never leave, I reply that my baptism was not legally binding as nobody asked me if I wanted to be Christian and even if they had, as six weeks old I was in no position to make an informed choice. But I do defend the right of others to be Christian, Jewish or, like my current sweetie, Muslim, worse a Muslim who is still technically married and therefore her husband's property, and a paganistic humanist. 

I also defend the right of anyone to question, criticise or denounce all of the above, including paganistic humanism. But opinions and hatred are very different things.

However you will be delighted I'm sure to learn that the UK Government, anxious no doubt to deflect attention from its inaction on mass immigration, to avoid coming clean about how much of we poor taxpayers money it is really spaffing in 'net zero' lunacy is about to appoint a new “Islamo-phobia Tsar”.  Its strange how the Communists who murdered the Tsar and his family, even throwing some  down mine shafts without bothering to kill them first, have now brought that word “Tsar” into English jargon - there is a diversity Tsar, a Low Traffic neighbourhood Tsar, a social mobility tsar, a families tsar and an anti - semitism tsar along with about 300 others appointed by this government. The new Islamophobia“Tsar” is reported to be Fiyaz Mughal, founder of “Tell Mama”.

You may remember the scandal of “Tell Mama” years ago, when UK Muslims were encouraged to ring the “Helpline” with harrowing tales of Vicious Gangs of White Men rampaging through the streets of their native land, attacking helpless Muslim women and children, ripping off headscarves and raping at will. But just like the harrowing tale of one Muslim man who claimed a gang of British National Party thugs had beaten him up and left him for dead in a forest, all these tales of white people assaulting Muslims were proven by the long-suffering police to be a pack of lies.

Meanwhile police, local council social services departments, politicians and tere media were telling us that allegations about the sex crimes of organised gangs of Muslim males (mostly of Pakistani or Bangladeshi origin in British cities and towns with large immigrant populations, were grooming and sexually abusing vulnerable, under - age white girls were nothing but Islamophobic conspiracy theories, but as everybody now knows, these like most other conspiracy theories, turned out to be not only true, but in reality far worse than the most lurid allegations.

It is significant perhaps that Mr. Mughal (whose name Mughal comes from “Mongol” as in the Mongol hoarde of Genghis Khan,), was a young baby when his family were kicked out of Uganda and then Kenya along with all other Indian Subcontinentals by “evil African dictators”, but instead of returning to India, they all swarmed into the West.

You may remember the reason the Africans of Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda kicked them all out: because they were taking over all the top positions in the government, legal system and business, treating the Indigenous  like ... er ummmm ...second-class citizens in their own lands. As the great African leader Jomo Kenyatta, “Father of the Kenyan Nation” explained, “There are too many ticks on the lion’s belly”, before chucking them all out of Kenya, followed by Tanzania and Uganda.

And nobody ever called the Africans “racist” for defending their own people. When somebody tells you Islamophobia is irrational, Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid.

But back to my girlfriend and Islamophobia (a phobia BTW means an irrational fear of something,) the case is that although I dislike and distrust Islam, she has more reason to fear it. You see although her husband had 'set her aside' (not a concept we understand in the west,) and now lives with his white mistress, she cannot divorce him or apply for a legal separation because Sharia law does not recognise the decisions of British courts in such matters. He is punishing her by not letting her move on in life because, as she told me, she gave him four daughters and only one son. Islamic law and tradition accepts the fault for that lies with her.

Were our sexless love affair ever to come to light we wopuld both be candidates for honour killing, which Sharia law does accept. So it is not irrational for some people to fear Islam. Too often the term Islamophobia is used to discredit people who simply dislike the medieval mores and values of  Islamic faith, in fact as others have pointed out it is entirely reasonable to express the opinion that Islamic religious dogma are incompatible with western lifestyles.

War On Free Speech A Precursor To World War Three?

In every liberal democracy the ordinary people are starting to fear a new threat, from the UK,  USA, Canada, Ireland and Australia, throughout the EU and in every multinational bureaucracy, from the EU and NATO to the UN and its offshoots like the WHO, free speech is under attack and censorship is on the rise. 

Everywhere we see stories denouncing misinformation and disinformation (does anyone know the difference?) and complaints that levels of racist, sexist, homophobic,transphobic, Islamophobic, xenophobic and self - righteous hate crimes are out of control, we are told, make it more urgent than ever for governments, corporations and multilateral organisations to adopt stronger measures to protect vulnerable populations online.

Its all bollocks of course, a massive distraction by the proponents of globalism to draw attention away from the emerging truths about the scamdemic, the killer vaccines that so many people were bullied into accepting, the exposure of the climate change scare narrative as another fraud, that the values and shared morality that has held Indo - European civilisations together for millennia is under attack from Cultural Marxist ideologues and that many of the inalienable rights we have taken for granted are under attack, first and foremost the right of free speech.

There are, of course, plenty of examples of misinformation and hatred online, and Twitter and Facebook are right to reduce their spread — but often the threat is exaggerated. The Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD), for instance, recently published a study that concluded that antisemitism was increasing on Twitter. But there is no definitive evidence of rising hate online. The ISD study counted tweets criticising George Soros which didn’t mention his Judaism as antisemitic. Elsewhere, “hate speech” includes the reluctance of some people online to use female pronouns when referring to transwomen — even though one might oppose using female pronouns for natal males yet  have no hostility toward transwomen.

This illustrated that what people label as “hatred” and “misinformation” is often merely an opinion they don’t like or which they fear will encourage bad behaviour. In both the UK and the US, this led to government officials demanding that social media platforms censor “often-true” content, including about Covid vaccine side effects, out of fear that such stories would result in vaccine hesitancy.

What’s more, Facebook and Twitter have also started deleting a significant amount of true content. Between 2020 to 2021, for example, Facebook censored claims that the coronavirus came from a Chinese lab, even though that was always as likely, if not more so, than the natural-origin hypothesis. Twitter also censored an accurate New York Post story about Hunter Biden’s laptop while allowing supporters of his father, Joe Biden, to falsely claim it was a result of “Russian disinformation”.

For whatever reason, we have a political and technocratic class that is impotent and incompetent. No one has a vision to build things. They only know how to tear things down. Censorship is a convenient tool to deflect criticism from their policy failures. The culture wars exist only because it’s easier to govern when people are divided by nonsense.

The potential impact of social media has been compared to that of the invention of printing. The latter triggered to a flood of intemperate pamphlets and books which led to polarisation, paranoia and a hundred years of witch-hunts and religious wars (as well as the Reformation, the spread of literacy and an acceleration of Science).

Greater self discipline is needed on social media to be sure, but censorship and the creation of new laws like those against hate speech, and involving the police and courts is the way forward. Our justice systems are slow, expensive, overloaded, and subject to levels of politicisation that are producing some very unreliable and eccentric judgements at the moment.

Perhaps some form of registration is needed for professional commentators (like journalists).
It is not practical for social media sites to be be held responsible for the specific content that individuals post in the way that publishers could in the era of print, but once the Big Tech corporations that own and operate social media start to involve themselves in the censoring of certain opinions then they assume the role of a publisher and so must assume the responsibilities. They can and should be responsible for the general conduct and policy of the site as things standbut when they start censoring conservative, libertarian or nationalist ideas but promote paedophilia, transgenderism and globalism, they are attacking freedom of speech and expression.

But one of the most concerning areas in which official and unofficial censorship is stifling discussion and suppressing the free exchange of ideas and opinions is reporting and discussion of what is really happening in Ukraine. If you rely on mainstream media for information you probably believe the narrative that 'brave little Ukraine is punching way above its weight militarily and giving those nasty Russian bullies a damn good thrashing, but in reality nothing could be further from the truth. I am not a supporter of Russia bit a realist and what I read in news out of India, Singapore, the Middle East and Africa suggests that in constantly enabling the neo nazi nutters in Kiev to escalate the conflict, NATO and the USA are imposing immense suffering on the people of Ukraine as well as stupendous loss of life among military personnel.

If people could see the true extent of destruction wreaked on Ukraine I'm sure many would agree with me that it is way past time NATO and the United Nations stepped in, put a peace - keeping force in place and supervised a negotiated settlement that would ensure Russia did not crush Ukraine economically as it has done in the shooting war.

Ireland to Jail ‘Hate Speech’ Offenders for Up to Five Years, But New Laws Are Arousing A Lot Of Hate

Always eager to be at the forefront of any fascitic EU campaign against freedom an civilised values, the government of Ireland published new 'Hate Speeech' legislation on Thursday (27 October). Under the new laws any individual found guilty of using “hate speech” in Ireland will face up to five years in jail. The country’s Justice Minister, Helen McEntee, has been at the centre of the country’s push towards implementing the effective abolition of free speech under the guise of protecting vulnerable minorities from “hate speech”, with her department announcing that the first draft of the new laws would soon be put in front of the nation's parliament.

Under the proposed law, people found guilty of “any intentional or reckless communication or behaviour that is likely to incite violence or hatred against a person or persons because they are associated with a protected characteristic” could be sentenced to a maximum of five years jail time.

What’s more, and here's the bit that would really make Hitler or Mussolini's thugs proud, any individual convicted of such an offence would be branded a “hate criminal”, a label which the minister says is designed to “follow an offender in court, in garda vetting, and so on”.

“[H]ate speech is not about free speech,” McEntee declared in a statement published by her department. “Hate speech is designed to shut people down, to shut them up, to make them afraid to say who they are and to exclude and isolate them,” she continued. “There is nothing free about that, and there is, frankly, no place for it in our society.”

No, hate speech is about stupid, virtue signalling politicians giving nasty, restentful little shits the ability to destroy somebody's life. Hate Speech, you see, has not and cannot have and solid legal definition. Hate speech is defined by the hearer's interpretation of remarks heard or overheard. Thus a completely innocuous comment made in a private conversation but overheard by some hateful little shit, can destroy somebody's life, even if the offending comment is an undeniable truth, for example saying that somebody born with a penis is a man and cannot ever become a woman.

So a jilted lover, a thwarted business rival, someone whose childish playground insults have festered since schooldays can be targeted and accused of hate speech simply as an act of revenge. Human nature being what it is, how could anything possibly go wrong?

The announcement that the Irish government — already deeply unpopular due to its inept and chaotic response to the COVID pandemic, followed by similar mishandling of the ongoing cost of living, energy,housing, and migrant crises — now aims to implement hate speech legislation posssibly by the end of this year has angered many, who have accused the ruling coalition of trying to silence critics. When somebody can be jailed for saying, "The Prime Minister is a useless, authoritarian clown," what is that other than the suppression of free speech. And the suppression of free speech, along with control of the media (already accomplished,) is always the first act of a fascist regime.

A representative from Free Speech Ireland told reporters that the Irish public was broadly opposed to the implementation of such legislation, and that the move would almost certainly strain police resources in the country. This blog is certain it will also poison police / public relations.

“No one in Ireland asked for these laws except for elite NGOs,” the spokesman said, adding that the new laws would almost certainly restrict freedom of speech in the country.
