After Yugoslavia NATO changed from a mutual defence alliance to an organisation for military aggression.

After the break up of the Soviet Union, a point in history when many in the west mistakenly thought Russia had ceased to be a major power and the USA unilaterally declared victory in the cold war, people around the world looked forward to an era of peace and prosperity. They could not have been more wrong, in fact even the most cursory examination of history will show that Russia has seldom been an aggressor.

The formation of The North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) and the development of nuclear weapons that delivered 'mutually assured destruction' kept us safe we were told as thousands of millions (this was before inflation made millions into small change for governments) were poured into pointless exercises in one upmanship. But what was the real driver of it all?

While that period from 1945 to 1990, with its arms race and the balls out politics of 'the space race' was sold to voters and taxpayers in the west as being necessary expenditure to counter the threat of Soviet expansionism, the Soviet Union has never had territorial ambitions. The establishment of satellite states around its borders after World War Two was really a reaction to yet another invasion of Russia by a European power.

Something happened in the years after the break up of the Soviet Union however that has made the world a more dangerous place now than at any time since 1938. Having served politicians well since 1945 as a defensive alliance, the USA dominated NATO changed and became a part of the US Neocon drive to achieve global dominance.

There's an interesting new publication from Global Research pinpointing the exact event that first revealed the new role for NATO, defined for it presumably by the US Shadow Government, that faceless cabal of financiers, corporate investors, academics and old political dynasties that really calls the shots in Washington. The world is enveloped in a blanket of perpetual conflict. Invasions, occupation, illicit sanctions, and regime change have become currencies and orders of the day. One organization – the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) – is repeatedly, and very controversially, involved in some form or another in many of these conflicts led by the US and its allies. NATO spawned from the Cold War. Its existence was justified by Washington and Western Bloc politicians as a guarantor against any Soviet and Eastern Bloc invasion of Western Europe, but all along the Alliance served to cement Washington’s influence in Europe and continue what was actually America’s post-World War II occupation of the European continent. In 1991 the raison d’être of the Soviet threat ended with the collapse of the USSR and the end of the Cold War. Nevertheless NATO remains and continues to alarmingly expand eastward, antagonizing Russia and its ex-Soviet allies. China and Iran are also increasingly monitoring NATO’s moves as it comes into more frequent contact with them.

Pundits Said It could Not Happen: Trump Now Tied With Hillary In Latest National Poll

The Experts have developed a habit of being wrong in their predictions about the progress of Donald Trump's presidential campaign. Following Trump's not yet official victory in the contest for the Republican nomination, the consensus among mainstream media commentators was that loudmouth businessman would "never" be able to catch up to Hillary's support at the national level". This too now appears to have been a mistake.

According to the Reuters/Ipsos poll released earlier today, Donald Trump's support has surged since his competitors, too far behind in numbers of delegates won to have any realistic chance of overtaking him, quit the race and he is now statistically tied (the 1% difference is withing the margin of error) with Democrat Hillary Clinton among U.S. voters, in what Reuters describes as "a dramatic turnaround since he became the Republican party's presumptive presidential nominee."

In the survey (charts linked above), 41 percent of likely voters supported Clinton, the Democratic front-runner, and 40 percent backed Trump, with 19 percent as yet undecided. The poll had an error marging of plus or minus 3 percentage points suggesting that it is possible that Trump may have already overtaken Hillary nationally.

What makes the reversal particularly notable is that as recently as last week, Mrs Clinton led Trump by around 13 points in the poll. With more negative publicity attaching itself to Hillary and her campaign every week as the scandals refuse to go away, it is possible Donald Trump has already overtaken her and will continue to gather momentum as he did in the Republican primaries campaign.

Surprisingly perhaps, according to deeper analysis of the poll, nearly half of Bernie Sanders' supporters are willing to cast their vote for Trump compared to only a quarter for Hillary, in what is shaping up as a presidential election in which it is not so important that the winning candidate will not be the one who is most liked, but least disliked.

As this blog has said since January, the success of Sanders and Trump was not due primarily to their policies or personal qualities (although by political standards Bernie seems to be an honest man,) but to the fact that they were anti - establishment candidates and rode the wave of anger and repugnance voters feel towards the cosy, self serving consensus of the political establishment.

The results signal that a close fight is shaping up between the two White House rivals as the campaigns get very dirty. More importantly perhaps, it promises a lot of entertainment because the "debates" between Hillary and Trump (who reputedly hate each other) will surely break all political TV and media records, even as American society and global influence decay like Dracula on a sunny day.

Russian Foreign Affairs Dept Accuses Turkey Of Hindering Syrian Peace Talks

Earlier today Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov accused of obstructing progress Turkey in the latest round of negotiations on a settlement of the Syrian civil war. Gatilov questioned Ankara’s role in the process. It is well known of cotse that since the onset of hostilities Turkey's government has funded the ISIS terrorist group by buying oil from wells in territory occupied by ISIS and selling it into western markets and has also nbee active in supplying ISIS and free Syrian Army fighting units with weapons and ammunition.

Gatilov told Russian Izvestia Daily, that Ankara persuaded the Saudi-backed High Negotiations Committee (HNC) to abandon multilateral negotiations which put at risk the ceasfire brokered by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State John Kerry.

"It is a pity that foreign players, and important regional players such as Turkey, continue to play an unconstructive role in this process," Gatilov remarked.

The peace talks were halted after the HNC walked out of discussions in protest at what it called a violation of the ceasefire by the Syrian government. Damascus challenged this, claiming the truce was violated by foreign-backed militants.

Concurrently, the Free Syrian Army — often referred to as "moderate" rebels by Western media outlets (because when they behead people with pocket knives, or cut vital organs fro dead opponents and ear them, they are at least fair about it,) refused to comply with the strictures of the ceasefire fearing, they claimed that the Assad regime would use the lull in combat to stifle opposition.

The 'moderate rebels', according to top US military officials, include al-Nusra Front militants, an al Qaeda spinoff extremist network only slightly less repugnant than Daesh.

The Russian government, which conducted a bombing campaign against both ISIS and the FSA and its Iranian allies who put troops on the ground in support of Assad stand accused by Western media of striking out against those moderates supported by the US. In the midst of all this, Tukey has been pursuing its own territorial ambitions by attacking Kurdish territory in Syria and Iraq.

America is accused of arming Daesh and of not seriously opposing the rebels because their priority was to overthrow Assad. There is consistent confusion about the positions and alliegences of al-Nusra, al Qaeda, the Free Syrian Army and Daesh, along with conflicting policies of whether to combat Daesh first or priotitise the US led regime-change operation in Syria concurrently, as is favored by the West.

It is into this appalling vacuum that America’s so-called allies Turkey and Saudi Arabia have operated, sowing havoc in Syria to advance national geopolitical imperatives. While Saudi Arabia seeks to garner cultural expansion of the fundamentalist Wahhabi Sunni tradition, Turkey has masterminded an effort to exact concessions from Europe in addressing a refugee crisis caused, in part, by the mismanagement of the US State Department, Ankara and Brussels. all in all it's a bloody mess and is not going to be sorted out any time soon.

Vetran rocker Roger Daltrey let's fly at EU bureaucratic dictatorship as he supports Brexit.

Daltrey, front man of sixties shock rockers the Who, famously sang "Won't Get Fooled Again" a few decades ago, has now thrown his weight behind the campaign to make sure that we don't. In an outburst possibly prompted by the scaremongering of world leaders like Barack Obama, his bum chum David Cameron and Hausfrau - Volksfuhrer Merkel, the singer labeled membership of the European Union (EU) a “disaster”, saying he supports Brexit from the “undemocratic, highly dysfunctional” politico-trading bloc.

Echoing comments made by Boris Johnson, Nigel Farage, and most recently Ian Duncan Smith who perceptively observed the EU is a friend to big business and the rich rather than ordinary workers, he spoke about the “systematic campaign of subterfuge” pro-EU campaigners have employed the seventy - two year old criticised Brussels bureaucrats for the way they expanded the remit of the EU commission, saying "they kind of sneakily crept in on us."

In an interview with The Sun newspaper, The Who frontman claimed the European superstate project was “set up by a bunch of crooks”, elaborating: “But that’s how they did this, we all thought we were voting for a common trade area. We voted for an apple and they gave us a bunch of bloody grapes!”

Mr. Daltrey said the EU is a “wonderful idea” but the only way to get a Europe people want is to “get rid of this bunch of fucking useless wankers that are running it.”

In other comments Roger expressed a belief in British sovereignty (“What it’s done to our Parliament is put them down to level of Parish Council.”) and in small government, lashing out at unnecessary bureaucratic interference in the private lives of British people that EU bureaucracy has manadated, “because there are so many politicians we get so much useless fucking law.”

Moving on to immigration, which he described as “a big issue for our country because we are an island”, he rejected the politically correct dogma that mass immigration brings social and economic benefits and said he had asked people to consider the other aspect of the immigration issue: “But no one talks about that side immigration issue, which is the fact that southern European countries have been robbed of their youth, those countries have been raped.

“Their youth have had to leave to get work, so how are they going to rebuild their futures?”

Identifying a revolutionary spirit on the streets, the singer said that as increasing numbers of the rich and powerful and business people “with real big vested interests in Europe” come out in favour of remaining, the average man on the street becomes “even more angry”.

He noted: “You’re hardly going to get the civil servants to talk against it are you? It’s going to put them out of work!”

Mr. Daltrey did concede that the path to independence from the EU would not be plain sailing, referring to the trade deals that some say would need to be done, he said: “It probably will put the cat among the pigeons for a while but it’s not the end of our country and it’s not the end of Europe. To say that they’ll stop trading with us is absolute bullshit.”

Another legendary rock frontman, Sir Mick Jagger, made a similar comments in more measured terms in April 2016. When asked about Brexit by a Sky News interviewer he said:
“I think to the country in the short term, it will be detrimental if we get out. In the longer term, in say a 20 year term, it might turn out to be beneficial.”

Free Speech Under Attack Online

According to a report in The Washington Examiner, governments are showing increasing interest in tightening rules on political speech on the web (this is not just a trend in the USA, the British, German, French and Swedish government have openly considered criminalising dissident opinions posted online concerning climate change, open borders immigration policy, vaccines, NATO foreign policy and globalist trade treaties such as TTIP. Their case is that dissident voices enabled by "new media" have become too influential and are making the task of government more difficult as they try to 'steer the world in the right direction'.

Should they succeed, experts wonder whether such censorship could impact more traditional media as well, especially in how it relates to conservatives and Christians, the report explained.

"The best example we can give is going back a few years to when the [Federal Communications Commission] was looking at trying to silence talk radio, which was obviously a realm of conservatism," said Drew Johnson, executive director of the nonprofit group "Protect Internet Freedom."

He was referring to the agency's "Fairness Doctrine," which required broadcasters to grant equal time to opposing political candidates.

US Democrats on the Federal Election Commission showed similar regulatory ambition when they voted to apply campaign finance laws, which are traditionally intended to govern paid political advertisements, to unpaid political accounts on Twitter.

"The Twitterverse has carved out for itself a unique and increasingly important role in American elections and political debate," Democratic Commissioner Ellen Weintraub wrote in support of the effort, adding that she believed it "reasonable to count Twitter profiles as among a political committee's websites."

The effort failed narrowly when the commission split along party lines. Had it succeeded, Republicans warned, it could have been a gateway to regulating traditional media (a trademak of the authoritarian 'left').

Some conservatives agree that the Internet has changed the nature of media, but not in an auspicious way. "We're not seeing the best and the brightest anymore," said Jason Lewis, a 25-year talk radio host who retired from his syndicated broadcast in 2014.

However, he added, "Someone in their pajamas in the basement can say and write anything he wants without much consequence. The good news is that not very many people will read it."

European Parliament President Says ‘Vast Majority Of Europeans Do Not Want Borders’

The point of this UK based blog being called Boggart Abroad is that unlike our original Boggart Blog, now called, rather imaginatively we like to think :-) The Original Boggart Blog because the closure of our platform forced a shift to Wordpress, is that we reach out from our home in a peat bog in the north of England to the rest of the world. We're get a lot of traffic from the USA, have followers in Canada, Mexico, Brazil and Venezuela, and in France, Germany, Russia (we're big in Russia), Poland, Ukraine, Spain and Portugal, and though our geographic stats only show our top ten nations for the week, we get readers in smaller numbers from many other nations.

We like to feel we are in our small way, champions of democracy, free speech and individuals' right to self determination. Therefor, as one would anticipate, we are totally opposed to the undemocratic, increasingly authorotarian EU. And with good reason, as we are constantly reminded. One such reminder over the past few days has been the reaction of EU Commission President Jean Claude Juncker (aka Jean - Claude Drunkard because of his (alleged) habit of consuming brandy for breakfast) and the President of the EU Parliament, (the EU has three Presidents, a bureaucracy has to do everything in triplicate), to the victory of an anti - immigtation, anti - EU candidate in Austria's presidential election (this result may be overturned in a mandatory second round of voting, and the EU will be doing all it can to rig the poll.)

European Parliament President Schulz warned Austrian voters against a Freedom Party of Austria (FPO) victory in the country’s upcoming presidential election, claiming the “vast majority” of people do not want national borders. One has to wonder what planet this former alcoholic has been living on for the past twelve months as the rise of anti - immigration parties that campaign for open borders has dominated politics in France, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Hungary, Poland and to a lesser extent in Britain where UKIP are well established and Spain where Podemos, a left wing party opposed to uncontrolled immigration became the largest party in an inconclusive election in December, 2015.

The Europhile German Social Democratic Party (SPD) politician stated that if the populist, anti-mass migration Norbert Hofer becomes president "this will change Europe’s character". Last month Hofer came top in the first round of the Austrian elections, and in two weeks voters will go to the polls for the second round, to choose between the right wing FPO figure and his Green rival Alexander Van der Bellen as the nation’s next head of state.

Die Presse reported yesterday that speaking with Italian radio station RAI 3, Mr. Schultz said he believes the vast majority of people in Europe "do not want the change he believes electing an anti-mass migration president would bring. He added that this “silent majority”, who also apparently oppose national borders, should mobilise against the FPO "for Europe".

In a press release, General Secretary of the FPO Herbert Kickl, rejected Schulz’ “interference” in the Austrian elections, calling it “totally inappropriate”. Mr. Schulz’ comments came soon after the President of The European Commission (the administrative arm of the EU ruling bureaucracy) Jean-Claude Juncker slammed elected leaders of European Union (EU) countries for listening too much to voters rather than focusing on being "full time Europeans".

The Telegraph reported that the European Commission president blasted Britain’s Prime Minister, David Cameron, for not speaking about Europe "in the proper way" and instead discussing the EU in terms of national interests.

"If you are listening to your national opinion you are not developing what should be a common European sense and a feeling of the need to put together efforts. We have too many part-time Europeans," the former prime minister of Luxembourg told the audience at Rome’s Capitolini Museum.

The latest Gallup poll looking to the upcoming presidential election shows Hofer and Van der Bellen are currently neck and neck.

Who TF does Juncker think he is, this jumped up pipsqueak of a a country Luxembourg that is beautiful and brews great beer (I used to work there for the EU) but about the size of a postage stamp. Luxembourg, like so many mickey mouse EU countries, has no significance in the world and so has lost nothing by surrendering its national sovereignty to the EUSSR.

On its own, Luxembourg is nothing, nor are Belgium, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Moldova, Slovenia. On our own, we did EVERYTHING (almost) and still found time to save Europe from tyranny at least three times World Wars 1 and 2 and the Napoleonic War. Royal Navy ruled the world's oceans for 400 years (from when Drake routed the Spanish Armarda to 1918), ruled a QUARTER of the globe (not just by force folks, impossible for such a small island) by intelligence, character & consent, launched the Industrial revolution, and invented the steam engine the jet engine, railways, computers, gave the world its finest literature, its most popular music, produced loads of Nobel prize winners in the sciences and humanities and much more. Other European nations did great things, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, The Netherlands, Greece (OK, a long time ago admittedly) and Austria, where the advance of the Ottoman Army of Sulymun The Magnificent was halted at the Seige of Vienna, even little Malta played a pivotal role in turning the tide of World War Two (but it was a British colony at the time). Germany, the wannabe hegemonic power of Europe wasn't even a proper country until 1870 and while there are mny notable German achievements particularly in electronics, engineering and technology, they don'yt make up for those two world wars.

So please, Jean Claude Drunkard, you go ahead with your plan for a German-dominated Europe by yourselves, piss on the graves of those brave Bohemians and Burgundians who gave their lives to preserve the independence of their microstate and hold back the advances of the Prussians and Bourbon French as their incessant wars raged.

Schulz BTW is a failed German bookseller's employee; an ex-alcoholic* from the Aachen region and as thick as p*gsh*t as any Member of the European Parliament will tell you. But Hausfrau - Voksfuhrer Merkel likes him because he is good as following orders (something of a national trait I'm told.)

Armed Forces Minister: Obama ‘Woefully Ignorant’ of Threat EU Membership Poses

One of the points President Barack Hussein Obama made during his visit to Britain in April 2016, was that the UK will be safer inside the European Union wheras if we vote OUT in the Brexirt referendum scheduled for June this year, we will face existential threats from foreign power. Presumably Obama was referring to Russia, after all he has devoted most of his foreign policy during his second term as president to talking up the imaginary threat posed by a resurgent Russia under Vladimir Putin in order to justify to some extent the USA's warmongering against small, and largely powerless nations in the middle east.

In adopting this scaremongering approach Obama seems to have seriously underestimated the amount of influence his word carries in Britain and around the world, just as he underestimated first the capability of Syria's secular, Shia Muslim regime under President Assad to mount a very effective resistance to the US backed attempt to depose Assad and make way for a Sunni Muslim regime friendly to US allies Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Oman. In taking this pro - Sunni position and trying to escalate tensions between Russia and the NATO alliance of western Europe and north America, the US President has shown his “woeful ignorance” of the hampering effect that being within the European Union has on Britain’s security, the UK defence minister has said. The minister suggested that rather than behaving as if he is an omnipotent monarch, Obama might think about asking the US diplomats in Euriope and the middle east, or maybe the CIA why creating a European Army or an EU-wide intelligence agency would not help to ease tensions with Russia.

Mr Obama spent a lot of his visit to Britain, telling the British people why he thinks they should vote to remain within the European Union at the IN / OUT referendum on June 23.
He has made it clear that he believes it to be in America’s economic and political interests interest for Britain to remain within a large European bloc rather than striking out alone.
His arguments on security in particular have been closely followed by Britain’s Armed Forces minister Penny Mordaunt, who has concluded that she cannot agree with what the President has had to say.
While she acknowledged the role that America and Britain have played as allies in the fight to promote freedom and democracy, she said “Where we part company, however, is in our views of the value of EU membership to this mission.”
Referring to a statement Mr Obama made in the Telegraph on Friday in which he said: “The European Union doesn’t moderate British influence – it magnifies it,” she responded: “Unfortunately this opinion betrays a woeful ignorance of the practical reality of the EU’s impact on our security, and the interests of the U.K. and the US.”

In his effort to persuade the British people to think as he does, he suggested that Europe owes a debt to the USA for saving it from the Nazis in World War Two, and has the European Project to tank for the last seven decades of peace in Europe . He is completely wrong on both, it was British obduracy and a Russian winter that saved Europe from the Nazis.

By the time the USA entered the shooting war, the tide was turning; in North Africa, the Advance of the Axis (Germant / Italy was halted at the first Battle of El Alamein in July 1942 and in a second battle in October and November of the same year, the Allied army, mainly troops from Britain and Commonwealth nations including Canada, Australia and New Zealand, South Africa, Nigeria, Keyna, and the Caribbean colonies, supported by expatriate forces from conquered nations in Europe, including France, Poland and Czechoslovakia began the pushback by defeating Gerneral Rommel's combined German and Italian army.

Although The USA had been supplying Britain and Russia for some years, military involvement did not begin until the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour in December 1941 and in the early months was focused in the Pacific theatre. A small contingent of US troops was deployed to north Africa but serious US involvement did not begin until the invasion of Italy in 1943.

Several times during the visit he reiterated the pro EU British government’s argument that Britain is more secure within the European Union.

UK Armed Forces Minister Penny Morduant told the media, “Obama warned that divisions in Europe will weaken NATO, but often those divisions are caused by the EU itself. Obama confuses collective action and defence through Nato with the integration at all costs and damn the consequences ideology that too often motivates the EU, which Russia, understandably sees as a provokation if not a realistic threat.”

Mr Obama also used his statement to argue: “We must be resolute and adaptive in our efforts to prevent terrorist attacks against our people, and to continue the progress we are making to roll back the threat posed by Islamic State (ISIL) until it is destroyed.”

Ms Mordaunt agreed, but countered that membership of the European Union is inimical to that aim.
“The President must be unaware of the alarming weaknesses that allow Daesh [Islamic State] terrorists to move unimpeded across Europe are the result of the EU’s bull-headed desire to take down all frontiers on the continent,” she said.

“Even in this country, although we are outside the Schengen borderless zone, European free movement rules mean we cannot keep out those we suspect wish us harm if it is based on incomplete evidence.” And Ms Mordaunt went on to dismiss Mr Obama’s claims that intelligence sharing is enhanced by the European Union, saying: ”Obama cannot appreciate how the ECJ has repeatedly undermined the arrangements which enable the UK and US to share intelligence. I am sure the CIA would be happy to explain to him why that the creation of a EU intelligence agency will not result in intelligence being shared EU-wide.”

In view of the realities in seems Penny Morduant's description of Obama as 'woefully ignorant' is typically British understatement.

Far from being the answer to Europe’s security problems, it has often been the cause of them. Is Obama aware of what happened to Greece in the past five years? And the other nations, chiefly Italy, spain, Portugal and Ireland, that face economic ruin because of the appalling consequences of forced harmonisation of the Eurozone? Is he oblivious to the suffering, the resulting tensions, the distrust, the rise of extremism?

There is certainly an evidence based case to be made that Obama cares little about anything that does not relate to gay and transgender issues in the USA, yet European leaders continue to take not of his words and act on them, thus serving the interests of Washington and US Corporate culture rather than those of the people who elected them.

The EU has its own geopolitical ambitions including an expansion of the union beyond Turkey and Ukraine and into the middle east and North Africa, which, while detrimental to the people of its members states will secure places for members of Europe's political elites in the global government bankers, businessmen and academics have been working towards since the United Nations was formed after World War Two.

It has been said of the EU that expecting it to act as a functioning geopolitical entity is like putting wheels on your grandmother and saying she is a car. I worry that in years to come we will see a major car crash because of the misplaced ambitions of Brussels.

Wall Street 'Whistleblower' Exposes Clinton Foundation Fraud

It's nothing personal, but the more I learn of Hillary Clinton the more I dislike her. This corrupt, crooked liar should not be allowed to run for president of the Glee Club let along the third most powerful nation in the world (hey, don't moasn at me about that, get on Obama's case). The woman is a phoney, a self interested, self aggrandizing elitist with a sense of entitlement the size of a galaxy. Whatever Hillary does, and whatever minority group the claims she is acting in the interests of, you can bet the main beneficiaries are Hillary Clinton, her family and her cronies.

No surprise then that a whistleblower has exposed Hillary's charity, 'The Clinton Foundation as a fraud. She's not alone of course, those of us with access to inside information in finance know that The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation receives $2 of taxpayers money in the form of government grants and consultancy fees from nations and organisations around the world for every $1 it spends on 'good works' (i.e. channeling money into the coffers of corporate businesses.) And the Zuckerberg foundation, though not old enough to have filed audited accounts, is not a charitable trust, but a Limited Liability Company which arouses suspicion immediately.

But what about those sleazy Clintons?

Wall Street 'Whistleblower' Analyst Exposes Clinton Foundation As "Charity Fraud"

The Clinton Foundation’s finances are so messy that the nation’s most influential charity watchdog put it on its “watch list” of problematic nonprofits last month.

The Clinton family’s mega-charity took in more than $140 million in grants and pledges in 2013 but spent just $9 million on direct aid.

The group spent the bulk of its windfall on administration, travel, and salaries and bonuses, with the fattest payouts going to family friends.

“It seems like the Clinton Foundation operates as a slush fund for the Clintons,” said Bill Allison, a senior fellow at the Sunlight Foundation, a government watchdog group where progressive Democrat and Fordham Law professor Zephyr Teachout was once an organizing director.

The Washington Free Beacon reports:
The Wall Street analyst who uncovered financial discrepancies at General Electric before its stock crashed in 2008 claims the Bill, Hillary, and Chelsea Clinton Foundation has a number of irregularities in its tax records and could be violating state laws.

Charles Ortel, a longtime financial adviser, said he has spent the past 15 months digging into the Clinton Foundation’s public records, federal and state-level tax filings, and donor disclosures. That includes records from the foundation’s many offshoots—including the Clinton Health Access Initiative and the Clinton Global Initiative—as well as its foreign subsidiaries.

This week, Ortel is starting to release his findings in the first of a series of up to 40 planned reports on his website. His allegation: “this is a charity fraud.”

The Sunday Times of London described Ortel as “one of the finest analysts of financial statements on the planet” in a 2009 story detailing the troubles at AIG.

California Fault Lines Are Ready For The Big One, Geologist Warns

The San Andreas fault, which was responsible for the San Franciso Earthquake of 1906, runs right through the middle of some of the most expensive property in the world, and also some of the most densely populated. The last big movement in the sourthern sector of the San Andreas, in which Los Angeles with its millionaire suburbs such as Beverley Hills, Bel - Air and Laurel Canyon is located was in way back in 1857, the Los Angeles Times reports .

Thomas Jordan, director of the Southern California Earthquake Center, said this week "the springs on the San Andreas system have been wound very, very tight for some time. And the southern San Andreas fault, in particular, looks like it’s locked, loaded and ready to go."

As The End of The American dream blog's Michael Snyder explains, over the past couple of months, major earthquakes have shaken areas all over the planet and major volcanoes have been erupting with a frequency that is more than just a little bit startling.

In the United States' National Park of Yellowstone in Wyoming witnesses say the ground is moving as if floating on the surface of an ocean in slow motion; the state of Oklahoma absolutely shattered their yearly record for quakes last year; numerous volcanoes are erupting on have recently erupted around the Pacific Ring of Fire and now we have a Californian geologist telling us that the San Andreas fault in southern California “looks like it’s locked, loaded and ready to go”.

This blog does not pay a lot of attention to dire warnings about climate catastrophe or asteroid hits that are based on data from mathematical models running in supercomputers, but when the director of the Southern California Earthquake Center talks about earthquakes it is wise to listen. Not that anyone can predict when a quake WILL happen, it could be tomorrow, it could be a hundred years. The following quote from Jordan however. comes from a Los Angeles Times article that was published this week that is getting a huge amount of attention right now…

“The springs on the San Andreas system have been wound very, very tight. And the southern San Andreas fault, in particular, looks like it’s locked, loaded and ready to go,” Jordan said in the opening keynote talk.

Other sections of the San Andreas fault also are far overdue for a big quake. Further southeast of the Cajon Pass, such as in San Bernardino County, the fault has not moved substantially since an earthquake in 1812, and further southeast toward the Salton Sea, it has been relatively quiet since about 1680 to 1690.

Here’s the problem: Scientists have observed that based on the movement of tectonic plates, with the Pacific plate moving northwest of the North American plate, earthquakes should be relieving about 16 feet of accumulated plate movement every 100 years. Yet the San Andreas has not relieved stress that has been building up for more than a century.

No conspiracy theories, no allegation of divine or satanic influences at work, just level headed conclusions based on observation and study of past events. This kind of stuff is worth listening to. So what can we do? Well nothing really, in spite of what the loonytoons variety of scientists tell us, any attempt by humans to alleviate the problem is more likely to make things worse than to improve them.

A wise President however would stop provoking Russia and China, disengage from current foreign conflicts, focus on domestic problems and prepare the military to deal with massive rescue and relief operations. Unfortunately the man in The White House has shown himself utterly incompetent to deal with such problems, or indeed anything that does not involve foreign wars or gay and minority rights.

Hillary Clinton To Face FBI Interview Very Soon

After the US Department of Justice had effectively blocked the FBI inestigation into Hillary Clinton's private email server shenagigans involving official material classed as 'top secret and above' he woman who has a reputation as the world's greatest gloater probably thought she had got away with blatantly disregarding laws on national security, and could focus on cheating Donald Trump or whoever (I'm not ruling out the possibility that Trump's bid for the presidency will be derailed by a scandal,) an order made by Judge Sullivan of the U.S. District Court laid out ground rules for interviewing multiple State Department officials, and ordered at least six current and former State Department employees to answer questions, all in an effort to finish the depositions in the weeks before the party nominating conventions.

According to a CBS report, a Washington source has confirmed that Hillary Clinton will be interviewed by the FBI within the coming weeks, in connection with the investigation into her private email server. Hillary's top aide, Huma Abedin was interviewed by the FBI in April. The FBI and Justice Department have been investigating whether classified information stored on Hillary's email server was mishandled. Abedin was interviewed at the FBI's Washington field office last month. The FBI's investigation into Clinton's email server was first reported in August.

The Clinton campaign has said it's confident that the FBI's review "will conclude that nothing inappropriate took place." There's no timetable for completing the investigation, and there have been no statements about how much longer the investigation will take. A federal judge in Washington said he may order Clinton to testify under oath about whether she used a private email server to evade public records disclosures. The order from U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan granted a request from the conservative legal advocacy group Judicial Watch to question six current and former State Department staffers, including Abedin, about the creation and purpose of the email system.

Clinton, who has been accused many times of behaving as if she is above the law, dismissed the idea that she could face legal trouble over the use of the server, responding to a debate question in March about the prospect of a federal indictment by saying, "It's not going to happen." Well at least she didn't say, "What difference does it make."
