Signals From Both Sides That Negotiations To End The War In Ukraine May Start As Putin Addresses BRICS Summit

In 2023/24 the Ukrainian military started a campaign against infrastructure in Russia. Several refineries were hit by drones and went up into flames. Gasoline production in Russia was falling significantly and export of gasoline had to be stopped for a while.

The Russians retaliated by renewing their own campaign against Ukraine's electricity network. But this time the targets were not just switching stations but the generation facility themselves. With better aircraft, better missiles and a better control and command structure this was far more effective than Ukraines effort. The non-nuclear electricity production in Ukraine almost wiped out.

In its daily briefings the Russian Ministry of Defense called the attacks on Ukrainian electricity stations a direct retaliation for Ukrainian attacks on Russian proper. For example:

This morning, in response to the Kiev regime's attempts to damage objects of Russian power infrastructure and economy, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation delivered a group strike by long-range precision weaponry at objects of the Ukrainian military-industrial infrastructure and AFU aviation bases.

With their generation capacity in danger and under the threat of blackouts the Ukrainian government got to its senses - at least for a while. Secret negotiations were arranged in Doha, Qatar, to stop the infrastructure attacks on both sides.

In August 2024, shortly after the Ukrainian army had launched an incursion into the Kursk oblast of Russia, the Washington Post reported that Ukraine and Russia were due to send delegations to Doha, Qatar this to negotiate a landmark agreement halting strikes on energy and power infrastructure on both sides, diplomats and officials familiar with the discussions said, in what would have amounted to a partial cease-fire and offered a reprieve for both countries.

But the indirect talks, with the Qataris serving as mediators and meeting separately with the Ukrainian and Russian delegations, were derailed by Ukraine’s surprise incursion into Russia’s western Kursk region last week, according to the officials.

Ukraine had to pay a heavy price for the Kursk incursion. The elite troops it had sent failed to reach their target, a nuclear power station near Kursk, and soon got decimated. The attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure continued with full force.

Three months later, with the Kursk incursion as well as its electricity network near to total failure, the Ukrainian government is again changing course. It is begging to renew the deals it had botched. The Financial Times reported (paywalled): Russia putting an end to aerial attacks on Ukrainian energy targets and cargo ships could pave the way for negotiations to end the war, Ukrainian president has sVolodymyr Zelenskyy told journalists in Kyiv on Monday. “When it comes to energy and freedom of navigation, getting a result on these points would be a signal that Russia may be ready to end the war”.

Russia has never refused to engage with Ukraine on various initiatives but will not compromise its interests in any negotiations, President Putin said on October 24 in an address to the BRICS summit. "We have always maintained that Russian interests must be respected in any agreement," he stressed.

Ukraine has approached Russia twice with proposals through Turkish mediation but subsequently walked back its initiatives. "When we agreed, it turned out that the Ukrainian side had already withdrawn. This happened twice," he revealed. We know this is true because on one occasion, when the two sides were set to meet under the chairmanship of Turkish President Erdogan, The Biden Administration, using UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson as their errand boy, sent word to Ukraine that on no account were they to negotiate with Russia on anything not approved by the USA. That was in April 2022 and the war could have ended then.

At the BRICS Summit in Kazan, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan presented new proposals for dialogue with Kiev regarding shipping in the Black Sea and "some other issues," Putin said.

According to him, it is too early to determine what Russia and Ukraine can agree on, as no detailed talks between Moscow and Kiev have yet taken place. "I would prefer not to go into specifics right now, as no detailed negotiations are underway, while the opponents back away," Putin added.

"Moscow does not rule out compromises on its part as long as they are rational," the Russian leader was further quoted in RT as saying.

If Moscow and Kyiv agreed to end strikes on their respective energy infrastructures, it would be a significant step towards de-escalating the conflict, Zelenskyy said in reference to Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian oil refineries.

Well - he could have had that deal three month ago. Now it will be more difficult to achieve it. A total retreat of Ukrainian forces from the Kursk region will be the minimum prerequisite Russia will ask for to renew the talks.

Zelenski also says he wants to renew the Black Sea agreement. A Washington Post report this week reminded that:

Ukrainian and Russian officials haven’t met face to face for talks since the first months of the war, when delegations from both sides convened for secret talks in Istanbul. Those negotiations eventually fell apart. Later, the two sides agreed to a grain deal that led to Russia temporarily lifting a naval blockade, allowing Ukraine to transfer grain through the Black Sea. That, too, collapsed months later when Russia pulled out of the deal.

The Black Sea deal included a western promise to not hinder Russian exports through the Black Sea. That hindrance however continued as insurance for freighters continued to be denied. Ukrainian attacks on Russia's Black Sea fleet also continued. Russia pulled out of the deal and reestablished its rather leaky blockade of Ukrainian ports.

Earlier this week Zelensky floated his own plan of initial compromise which could be the basis of talks. He told journalists in Kiev that both sides should mutually agree on halting all aerial attacks on energy targets and cargo ships, and that this could pave the way for negotiations to end the war. Unfortunately the diminutive clown quickly returned to demanding nuclear weapons and immediate NATO membership for Ukraine the following day, demonstratng again that nothing he says can be taken seriously.

After seeing western mainstream media push the Kursk incursion as "Putins downfall" in exactly the same way as they pushed 2023's summer offensive as the sure and certain defeat of Russia, after which the people would rise up and overthrow Putin, and reading or hearing almost every day in the first two years of the conflict that Ukraine was winning and Russi, out of weapons, men and money was on the verge of collapse it is diffucult to believe any reports on the sitiation from western sources. So we should work on the assuption that any possible direct negotiations between the two sides will again be stymied by the USA and NATO.

While all civilised and compassionate people hope for an early settlement to end the slaughter on both sides, it is difficult to see Uncle Sam and NATO, having invested so heavily in the proxy war giving up the "win" just so Ukrainian civilians can have enough electricity, heat and food during the winter seems like a non-starter.

Britain's Two Tier Justice System: Police Officer Was Prosecuted For Shooting Gangster Who Drove A Car At Officers While Trying To Escape Arrest

When London Metropolitan Police Officer Martyn Blake fired a single shot through the windscreen of gangster Chris Kaba’s Audi Q8 killing him as he tried to escape after being stopped by police in the South London suburn of Streatham on September 5th 2022 it was inevitable, due to Kaba's colour and ethnic background that the incident would become a big story.

Though the Audi driver's identity was not known at the time, the vehicle had been linked to two previous firearms incidents including a shooting outside a primary school the night before so it was perfectly reasonable for Blake and other officers dealing with the incident to assume the there was a high risk of violence.

Despite this Officer Blake, 40, who had an unblemished record with the Metropolitan Police, was charged with murder with prosecutors claiming his actions had not been “reasonably justified”. That decision to charge him followed a lengthy investigation by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) and consideration by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).

However following a three week trial at the Old Bailey, duing which Mr. Blake told the court he genuinely feared for the lives of his colleagues, when Kaba attempted to ram his way through a roadblock in a residential street and also tht he had not intended to kill Kaba but had simply wanted to stop the car driving at his colleagues. The jury took three hours to find him not guilty of murder. No doubt jury members were more aware of how ludicrous Britain's two tier justice system's laws covering polivce use of firearms against dangerous criminals are. We all know about the role of guns in policing as used in the USA. However there is not one of the major European nations where an officer would be prosecuted for shooting dead a suspect who was trying to escape from arresting officers or otherwise resisting arrest.

The verdict was naturally greeted with relief by Mr. Blake’s colleagues, friends and family, but will lead to inevitable questions about why he was ever charged in the first place. Despite being cleared of the criminal charge, Mr. Blake could still have to face a gross misconduct hearing which could result in him being sacked. As a fully trained firearms officer, Bloke is being punished for doing his job.

Following the verdict members of the black community and leftists of all races tried to equate the case to the killing of George Floyd in 2020, disorderly with street protests by Black Lives Matter supporters and claims by Kaba's family that the killing was racially motivated and that the known criminal had led a blameless life. A few days after the verdict was announced the trial judge finally lifted reporting restrictions he had imposed in order to prevent race baiters causing such an outcry with their demands for summary justice and assertions that members of minorities cannot be held accountable to the same laws as white people that a fair trial would have been impossible. Only then was it revealed that Chris Kaba was one of London’s most feared gangsters and the police officer who shot him had a £10,000 bounty put on his head. Martyn Blake now is having to live in hiding, fearing for his life and his the lives of his family after a Kana's criminal associates let it be known they are prepared to offer £10,000 for information on his whereabouts in order to kill him in revenge for the death of Kaba. Only now can it be disclosed that the 24 year-old who used a powerful car as a weapon was high on cocaine that night and still had gun residue on his sleeve and a balaclava in his car, providing “strong evidence” that je had carried out a gangland shooting in Brixton the night before, Mr. Blake’s lawyer Patrick Gibbs, KC, said. It was also revealed he was a leading member of the 67 gang, which police consider the most dangerous gang in South London. Just six days before his death Kaba brazenly gunned down a rival in the middle of a crowded nightclub during a bloody feud for control of a profitable county lines drug network. In the shocking attack captured on CCTV, the gangster started blasting at Brandon Malutshi chasing him outside the Oval Space Club in Hackney, with one of the bullets hitting him in the leg. So, the police officer who was named back in March had his life put in danger and has been into hiding – but the judge banned reporting on Kaba’s history, preventing the public having the full picture and allowing the family and community to portray the notorious gangster as an expectant father and aspiring architect with “so much potential” who had been trying to turn his life around. This is obviously no way to keep the public safe or respect the personal risks that law enforcement officers take to protect us. But it shows us once again that there is now a two tier justice system in operation. Leftists have infiltrated all levels of public life and are determined to advance their 'woke' agenda whenever an opportunity is presented, to the cost of the law abiding majority.

Another Alzheimer’s 'Wonder Drug' Blocked By NHS Due To High Cost And Low Effectiveness

The double - vaccinated, multi - boosted sheephead contingent went into meltdown yesterday in comment threads reporting that what is claimed to be the most effective drug yet for treating Alzheimer’s disease has been blocked for use on the NHS.

Ever eager to beliee any propaganda narrative the government - corporate cartel pumps out the sheepheads were quick to jump on the bandwagon and start accusing the NHS and the regulator of mass murder and planning to engineer a genocide of over - 70s as well as attacking anyone who suggested this drug might not be as good as the hype suggests. I have never been slow off the mark in criticising health tyranny when it is deserved but objectivity is called for so I researched the reseults of clinical trials of the 'wonder drug' and found that by any definition it falls a long way short of wonderful.

Regulators have declared Donenamab, the new treatment for the disease safe for use but the rationing body has immediately ruled that it is too expensive for NHS patients.

Reports in mainstream media stated the blatantly obvious in predicting the decision is expected to disappoint charities and campaigners who have called for better access to newly emerging drugs on the NHS. But as usual when corporate members of the Big Pharma cartel are hyping any new medical product, the propaganda did not tell the full story.

Donanemab has been described as game-changing and the makers claim trials show it slowed the progression of Alzheimer’s by 35 per cent. Scientists said it could mean patients were able to live at home with a better quality of life for an extra two years.

The decision on donanemab – the second drug found to slow the progress of Alzheimer’s disease – mirrors that taken in August, when lecanemab, the first breakthrough treatment for the condition, was licensed but also rejected by the NHS on very similar grounds.

The draft guidance from the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (Nice) means the drug will will only be available from private clinics, or if they are part of a clinical trial. Health insurance policies are unlikely to cover costs.

In trials, Donenamab is claimed to have slowed cognitive decline by 35 per cent, making it even more effective than Iecanemab, which slowed the disease by 27 per cent.

Almost half of participants on donanemab had no clinical progression of disease after a year, compared with 29 per cent on placebo.

Total misinformation from mainstream media. What is reported above shows the drug at best is marginally effective in a small subset, and its use involves regular MRI scans at enormous expense. Many patients with dementia cannot cope with MRI scans. In spite of all this Donenamab has been heavily marketed by the drug lobby.

Let's be realistic, results from clinical trials show it does not cure, does not halt the progress of dementia but 'slows' the progress by 35%. Thirty five per cent of what?

I spent many hours between 2015 and 2020 vititing my mother in a care home and was able to observe the different rates of decline among various residents. So to refer to slowing the rate of decline by a percentage is utterly meaningless and makes me think this drug is just another money grabbing scam by Big Pharma.

Facts may be unfashionable when discussing the pros and cons of new 'wonder drugs' being pushed by the Big Pharma cartel propaganda lobby, but I've never cared muvh for fashion so here are a few facts gleabed from information released on the clinical trial results on this latest phramaceutical scam.

A Cambridge University team has reviewed the clinical trial results of this in a sudy paper. The drug had a 0.45 out of 18 effect on individual participants, and the 35 percent slowing in disease progress was the relative comparison with the drug group against the control.

In fact among the information not reported is that among the control group who were given the placebo treatment, 29% saw no progression of disease after 1 year, thus the true figure for those who benefit from the drug is not 35% but 35% of 71%.

Many experts have already pointed out that Donenamab does not improve cognition, the delay in cognitive decline was at the maximum 5 months. It also has severe side effects - 20 percent participants experienced brain swelling and bleeding and there were 3 deaths (once again points not mentioned in mainstream media,).

The cost is estimated at £25,000 per annnum for the drug alone, without the cost of medical treatment and scans. Another random controlled trial, not financed by drug manufacturers, showed that life style interventions reversed early dementia and mild cognitive impairment more effectively in 20 weeks. The AZ Soc, that is pushing this, gets funding from drug manufacturer Eli Lilly.

Do not believe the clickbait headline, this is not a wonder drug, Only 20% of patients get a temporary benefit over the placebo, and many of the ones who fail to benefit will have severe side effects. Given the vast cost prescribing it, we we have to consider what other vital services would need to be sacrificed for benefits that are, in most cases, marginal however harsh that may seem.

So to the person who called me a murdering cunt for pointing out a few truths about this drug, consider how many people might have to die of cancer, cardiovascular disease, respiratory disease, diabetes and a host of other conditions if funds are to be transferre in order to pay for an expensive, ineffective threatment that will enable a small number of people to endure the misery of dementia for a few weeks longer.

Health Tyranny Takes An Even More Sinister Turn

Who could possibly object to Wes Streeting’s plan to turn the NHS ‘from hospital to neighbourhood’ and from ‘sickness to prevention’? Of course, it is much better to prevent an illness than to wait until you develop it and then have it treated. Except that unfortunatrely medicating the entire population against all known diseases is just a way for shovelling tax[ayers money into a bottomless pit within which burns the fire of a dystopian hell (can you tell I'm a published poet?).

A study commissioned by the Health Secretary (presumably before the Labour government came to power,) the Darzi report said it had diagnosed the NHS woes, and Darzi himself wrote in the Guardian that his recommended solution to the stage 4 cancer of bureacraicioma is a “pivot to prevention” rather than continuing to treat sickness and injury.

Naturally this appealed to the control freak instincts of Wes Streeting. The new Secretary of State for Health and Social Care at the Institute for Public Policy Research said: “We will publish a 10-year plan early next year that will set out how we deliver three big shifts in the focus of the NHS: from analogue to digital (whatever that mouthful of bollocks means,), hospital to community, and sickness to prevention.”

Speaking at the Labour Party conference earlier this month, Streeting said, “Without action on prevention, the NHS will be overwhelmed.” Yet the prevention mantra is a familiar line for a UK Health Secretary to trot out.

On hearing this latest iteration of the 'prevention' mantra Trust the Evidence team at Substack thought they would ask how common the prevention mantra is amongst the 13 Health Secretaries we’ve had since 2000.

They learned that prevention is a go-to line for all Health Secretaries who don't want to admit they haven't a clue how to fix the health service, (See the PDF for the table of statements). And why not, 'prevention is better than cure,' is a line I remember my mother using in unsuccessful attempts to coax a recalcitrent nine year old to eat vegetables.

It was a favourite strategy for the Labour Government until 2010 and when the Conservative - Lib Dem coalition came to power, they were also quick to the mark regarding prevention. Andrew Lansley said: “But as well as re-focusing the treatment side of healthcare, we need to do far more on prevention."

In 2013, the Deprtment of Health and Social Security (DHSC) published ‘Living Well for Longer: A Call to Action’ to reduce avoidable premature mortality. And guess what? “If we are to tackle the challenge we face, we need to make improvements across the three domains of prevention, early diagnosis and treatment.” When I’m a celebrity, Matt Hancock came into the job he was also a prevention disciple as he made prevention one of his earliest priorities for the NHS and social care, publishing the ‘Prevention is better than cure: our vision to help you live well for longer’ plan.

But you cannot prevent old age, nor the diseases that arise because of old age – dementia, diabetes, chronic renal, cardiovascular, pulmonary problems, arthritis, sight and hearing loss, to name a few. These conditions arise because the body wears out the older it gets, the immune system weakens, cell replacement slows down, cells go rogue and become cancerous.

The best way to preserve our health as we get older is to take personal responsibility rather than trust government experets, the immune system can easily be boosted through diet, general health is improved by modersting consumption of alcohol, sugar (particularly the highly refined types like HFCS,) and foods containing high levels of manufactured chemicals, and regular exercise dies wonders for general health.

The biggest problem the NHS is facing is a growing elderly population with these conditions which are costly and time consuming to treat. When the service was created in 1948, the year I was born, life expectancy was 68 years – now it’s 81. Many of the conditions now treatable were not back then, so people died earlier and places a lesser burden on the helth services.

Until the late 1970s, premature babies died. Now they survive, many with medical condition due to their incomplete development in the womb, requiring a lifetime of medical care which increases as they age. Treat a 50 or 60 year old with a cardiovascular condition, that person lives on to get something else wrong with them. It’s what Americans call “whack-a-mole”.

The Medical-Pharmaceutical-Industrial complex and Governments who intervene in healthcare, have led us all to believe that everything is preventable through mass medication and vaccination programmes and thus death eliminated. This is, is it not, the old con trick of religions: conform, never question authority and you can live forever. In heaven with God and his angels in the religious version, in socialist/capitalist utopia in this secular era.

Not so long go we collapsed whole societies and economies, medicated billions of people, so granny could avoid death for a few months or years more.And yet the method of prevention did not work, the vaccinated got ill and in some cases died, while unvaccinated Grandad (yours truly) with his self prescribed immunity boosting diet never had so much as a snotty nose throughout the years of the scamdemic.

Disease prevention via mass medication is a just a pretext for “NHS experts” and research grant grifters in universities to issue advice to government to mandate certain preventive medications so that awkward squad members among the general public can be told what they have to or are not allowed to do because allowing personal choice could lead to unhealthy behaviour.

This approach to healthcare is fraudulent because causal links between “unhealthy behaviour” and diseases happening 30 years later cannot be established based on our present lack of understanding how human bodies work at the chemical level. In spite of all the "Smoking causes lung cancer," of the 1980s and 90s it remains the case that only 8% of women and 15% of men who indulge in tobacco smoking go on the develop lung cancer. Smoking damages health in many other ways of course, including being a major contributor to many cases of heart and circulatory diseases but it is more difficult to suggest a direct link between those diseases and smoking. And of course some non smokers do develop lung cancer.

It’s only possibly to correlate anecdotes people tell of their past lives with diseases they happened to develop in old age and then claim a causal links must surely exist based on that.

This governm.ent cannot save, fix, redeem, or cure the NHS; no government can. This is why I feel a sense of foreboding at the current Health Secretary’s plans to pivot from treatment to prevention. Distributing smartwatch-style devices (connected to NHS data centres via the internet of course,) to monitor our health in real time opens so many doors for a government that has already shown some unpleasantly authoritarian tendencies. The intention is patients will be given these devices to monitor blood pressure, glucose levels and other metrics, supposedly in order to keep them out of hospital.

But it is not hard to see where this could quickly lead. At first, the smartwatches will be just for people with diagnosed conditions like heart disease and diabetes. But gradually it will seep into the rest of the population, to the point that we will all be expected, or even ordered to wear them. As with Covid testing and vaccines, there will be a sanction if we refuse. The life insurance industry will get in on the act, just as it has with black boxes on cars – which offer us the chance of lower premiums if we agree to have our driving habits constantly monitored. You won’t wear a Fitbit? Sorry, we will have to remove your passport, its for your own protection.

Did Kamala Harris Work As A Burger Flipper Or Potato Fryer at McDonald’s? Or Was It Another Lie From The Airhead Candidate?

Did Democrat candidate Kamala Harris ever flip burders or shovel fries at MaccyD’s? It doesn't seem the kind of quetion that would swing the result of an election from one candidate to another, but it has become one of the most controversial issues of the US Presidential election campaign.

The Democratic candidate, a child of privilege herself, made the claim in an attempt to bolster her middle class credentials by implying her time behind the deep fryer helped fund her understand the problems and concerns of working and middle class Americans.

But Republicans, led by Donald Trump, have attacked Ms Harris’ claims, accusing her of lying in a desperate attempt to make her seem more relatable to voters. Harris has left herself wide open to this criticism by declining to provide anything more than a vague account of her time at the golden arches.

When news media representatives visited McDonald's outlets in the area where she claimed to have worked, they learned staff had been told they were not to talk about whether the candidate had ever worked at McDonald’s.

Ever the opportunist, Trump has taken things a step further, by entering the kitchen himself and serving up portions of fries to supporters at a franchise in Pennsylvania.
