German Conservatives Fail To Pass Anti Immigration Law

German mainstream politicians and media have presented that the real 'threat' the country is facing is not brutal terror rampages and attacks like those recently seen in Magdeburg and Aschaffenburg (both perpetrated by asylum-seeking migrants), but the fact that Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) has been polling better than ever before and having serious national influence as Friedrich Merz - Merkel's successor as leader of the country’s conservatives - seeks to push through tighter immigration controls.

All of this has triggered former German Chancellor Angela Merkel's intervention, given the supposed 'embarrassment' of witnessing the Christian Democrats currently relying on the AfD help to pass the new immigration bill. The conservative CDU-CSU (Christian Democratic Union of Germany and the Christian Social Union in Bavaria) has broken the longstanding taboo of working with the AfD when on Wednesday they together passed a motion calling for a crackdown on new arrivals and strengthened border controls.

Former Chancellor Merkel has blasted Merz. "I believe it is wrong," she began in fresh comments. It marks an unprecedented intervention by the former leader since she stepped down from politics in December 2021. As is custom the former chancellor has been silent for years after leaving power. It appears the intervention worked as the conservatives on Friday have failed to pass the measure.

She had used the opportunity to 'remind' everyone there should never be any association whatsoever between the mainstream parties and the AfD. She wagged her finger at Merz for breaching the longstanding "firewall" against the AfD. They are supposed to be shunned politically... but no longer.

"I think it is wrong to no longer feel bound to this proposal, thereby allowing a majority with the votes of the AfD in a vote in the German Bundestag for the first time on 29 January 2025," she wrote on her website. The walls are closing in, and AfD party officials are grabbing the popcorn to enjoy the mainstream fallout and shrieking.

Without doubt, panic is truly setting in, revealed also in how quickly anti-AfD politicians have been in invoking fears of a return to Nazis.

The farmers, who also protested in Warsaw last week as well as blocking all border crossings between
Poland and Ukraine, were this time backed by Poland’s biggest labor union, NSZZ Solidarnos. In addition truckers, miners, and forestry workers joined this week's protest, which swelled the crowd into the thousands. Dramatic videos similar to the one linked, posted on social media showed the arrest of many protesters and the police using tear gas and riot control batons to break up clusters of protestors. New Figures Show Brexit Has Failed To Take Back Control Of Immigration

 Just over six years ago, in the few weeks before the June 23 referendum day, although few were mentioning it openly the nation's attention was focused on immigration, and particularly the 'Brexit' campaign's promise to 'Take Back Control' of our borders. Today the immigration issue is as predominant in many people's minds, and even more unmentionable in polite company, as news this morning revealed that record numbers of migrants entered the country last year, while yesterday a record number of people were trying to make the hazardous crossing from France in small boats to enter the country illegally.

 From the application of human rights laws to the analysis of statistics, immigration can be a complex subject, and the public debate about it can be  deeply dishonest and has been for much longer than the six years since the referendum result was announced. But most of us ought to be able to agree some common-sense principles.

From bridging skill shortages and boosting business enterprise to adding to the cultural capital of the country, immigration can bring great benefits, but in the kind of numbers we have seen over the past 20 years numbers it can also cause social upheaval and civil unrest and so must be controlled. 

Control of the inflow of migrants, particularly those of low intelligence, with little education and no knowledge of the English language, needs well defined, easily enforcable laws, and a professional and hughly efficient border security officers. Decisions should not be made in the interests of foreign nationals, immigration lawyers or supranational organisations, but the British people, the nation as a whole. And the decision-makers themselves must be politicians, directly accountable to those who elect them and not lawyers, judges or unelected bureaucrats.

We have not yet seen meaningful post-Brexit immigration statistics but it is known We The People will not like them. In 2020, thanks to the pandemic, net migration fell by 88 per cent to just 34,000. In 2019, net migration was 271,000 – high, but not unusual for the past couple of decades, when the number exceeded 300,000 in several years. We can already see from the number of visas issued that immigration is about to soar again, probably to new record highs.

Comparing 2021 to 2019, from the available statistics work visas (239,987) are up 25 per cent, family visas (280,776) are up 49 per cent, and student visas (432,279) are up 52 per cent. More than a quarter of foreign students are Chinese, but the number of Nigerian students is up 415 per cent, Pakistani up 256 per cent and Indian up 164 per cent.

This exponential increase in immigrant numbere is not happening by chance. Even as the Government ended European free-movement rules after Brexit – a decision driven, pollsters agree, by concerns about sovereignty, democratic control and immigration – Boris Johnson, the neo Marxist leader of a nominally Conservative demanded a more liberal policy.

Limits on numbers of work permits to be issued were removed and the definition of “skilled work” was watered down. The shortage-occupation list was extended to allow the recruitment of foreign workers in yet more trades (including, presumably, sandwich stuffing and office cleaning.) Employers were no longer compelled to seek workers from the resident population before recruiting overseas labour. A salary threshold, supposedly set to ensure only high-skilled immigration, was set at £25,600 and for some workers only £20,400. Foreign students – whatever their qualification – were given the right to stay and work in Britain at the end of their courses. If Brexit hasd been about 'taking back control' then it had failed.

There's always a ponzi scheme behind large scale immigration that is self-defeating in the long run. It is notable that for all the proclaimed benefits of immigration, the influx over the past two and a half decades has not led to increased productivity or national prosperity, and any wealth generated always ends up in the hands of the same small handful of people rather than being distributed across society. If anything, the competition for resources has clearly made life more difficult for large swathes of British society (housing, access to social goods). Whenever someone talks about how immigration stimulates economic growth, I rebut with what we can call the Pret a Manger theory based on my observations since 1997:

Pret opens a new shop and staffs it with low wage immigrants fresh off the plane from abroad. The new workers use some of their wages to buy, among other things, food at Pret. Pret sees their revenues rise, and justifies opening more stores, and hires more low-wage workers from overseas. See the pattern? In theory the economy is expanding, but what does it mean for existing populations? The owners of Pret get richer, but existing populations have to deal with more competition for scarce housing or crowding more housing in existing areas, more people and more cars on the roads, demand for buses and public transport increases, leading to more need for even more infrastructure, which in turn needs to be funded. And same with NIH resources and capacity.

Is 2022 Britain "better off" than 1997 then? No, not really. Strip away the modern technologies and iPhones, it probably is worse off because it's even more expensive and more crowded.

I do know that prior to 1997 immigration to the UK was tightly regulated and tightly controlled. It was actually quite difficult and lengthy, which is why the numbers are so low. And it was because immigration was one of the few shared consensus between pre 1997 Labour and Tory, both parties mutually, unofficially, agreed on keeping it tightly controlled between the late 1960s and 1997. It really was Tony Blair and his New Labour who completely changed it. When people say it's impossible to control immigration, I always ask why, because it was very strictly controlled in the past and well within living memory. Even without national borders, how hard is it to severely fine and penalize those who employ illegal immigrants and severely restrict access to social services for people without any documented registration to be in the UK? That alone would achieve a great deal. 

But remember next time you have the opportunity to vote, while Labour and Conservatives blame each other for all the nations ills, since 1992 both have followed broadly the same globalist policies. Both are to blame. It is time for us voters to forget that old lie, "Better the devil you know," and find an alternative to vote for. Because while we continue to put 'the devil we know' in power, nothing will change for the better.

As the years old confrontation along the border between Ukraine and Russia has escalated from shouting childish insults at each other to actual shooting with ethnic Russian rebel separatists in Donbas reporting intensified shelling and initiating a "general mobilization" of military-age males, with Moscow denying they plan to invade and Ukraine's leaders in Kiev accusing US, UK and French leaders of hysteria for the way they have talked up the threat of war - Germany's leading newspaper  Spiegel asks the question fundamental to the entire conflict...

IS VLADIMIR PUTIN JUSTIFIED IN SAYING UKRAINE'S ADMISSION TO NATO WILL NOT BE TOLERATED BY RUSSIA.

The issue hinges on a letter sent by  the then Russian President Boris Yeltsin in September 1993 to US President Bill Clinton. Yeltsin complained at length about the eastward expansion of NATO at a time when, after the disintegration of The Soviet Union and The Warsaw Pact Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic were interested in joining the North Atlantic military alliance. Yeltsin argued that the Russian government saw this as  bid by the western powers, particularly the USA, UK and France ~(the old FUKUS axis) to effectively bring about theisolation" of Russia. Yeltsin asserted that the "Two Plus Four Treaty" linked to Germany's 1990 reunification precluded the option of expanding the NATO zone into the East."

Spiegel commented, "There is essentially no other historical issue that has poisoned relations between Moscow and the West as much in the last three decades as the disagreement over what, precisely, was agreed to in 1990."

Since the 1990 letter, NATO has recruited 14 former Soviet Republics or Warsaw Pact countries in Eastern Europe despite many of them being nowhere near the Atlantic Ocean. The Kremlin has consistently complained of having been duped by NATO and the EU but both organisdations have continued to pursue explanion projects. Now besides NATO's courting of Ukraine there is talk of admitting Kazakhstan into the alliance despite it's being a central Asian nation.

According to current Russian President Vladimir Putin, "NATO cheated shamelessly."

"You promised us in the 1990s that (NATO) would not move an inch to the East," he said last month as tensions over Unktaine rose, making the comments to justify demands for written guarantees that Ukraine will never be accepted into the Western alliance.

But that’s not all. At the end of January, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov wrote an open letter to his Western counterparts in which he cited additional understandings. In particular, he focused on the Charter for European Security, rooted in agreements reached in 1990. East and West had concurred at the time that every country has a right to freely choose the alliance it wished to be part of, while also emphasizing the "indivisibility of security." Later, that became "the obligation of each State not to strengthen its security at the expense of the security of other States," as Lavrov explicitly mentions in his letter. -Spiegel

Ukraine, meanwhile, wants to know how fast they can join. This is not surprising as the current Ukrainian government was installed in 2014 by the western powers after a colour revolution allegely formented by agents of the US deep state i n Ukraine deposed a corrupt and pro - Moscow but democratically elected government.

CIA Director Brennan Warns Islamic State Militants Are Entering USA As Refugees

WOW, we have to admit to being totally not gobsmacked by this story. I mean, after almost eight years of Obama's 'open doors' immigration policy, his often repeated claims of sympathy with terrorists, gun runners, people traffickers and other assorted arseholes and dickheads, it was entirely predictable that enemies of the USA (those not in Washington already that is,) would take advantage of the lax border controls to infiltrate the nation jihadists call The Great Satan.

 Speaking to the Senate Intelligence Committee on Thursday CIA Director John Brennan  warned that Islamic State militants are training operatives and preparing strategies for further attacks on the West, probably relying more on classic guerrilla hit-and-run tactics to compensate for their territorial losses in the middle east.  

Reading from a  prepared script before the Committee, Brennan said that ISIS has been  building an infrastructure network that would enable them to direct and inspire attacks against its foreign enemies on their own soil, as in the recent attacks in Paris and Brussels. "ISIL has a large cadre of Western fighters who could potentially serve as operatives for attacks in the West," Brennan said.
 
More importantly, he said Islamic State is working to smuggle militants into various countries, among refugee flows or through legitimate means of travel. 

Brennan also noted the group's call for followers of Islam to conduct so-called lone-wolf attacks in their home countries. He called last week's attack in Orlando a "heinous act of wanton violence" and an "assault on the values of openness and tolerance" that define the United States as a nation. 

It is unclear how Brennan's testimony can be interpreted as assuring Americans of the reliability of Obama's claim that the Orl;ando attack was not the result of a "radicalized Islamic terrorist." If anything, the CIA director's warning confirms the concerns voiced by Donald Trump that the USA has becomr the primary target for deadly ISIS attacks.

Brennan also said IS is gradually cultivating its international branches:  the branch in Libya is likely the most advanced and most dangerous to date, but IS has opened franchises in Afgfhanistan, Philipines and Indonesia and is present in other Asian nations and is trying to increase its influence in Africa, he said. 

The IS branch in the Sinai has become the "most active and capable terrorist group in Egypt," attacking the Egyptian military and government targets in addition to foreigners and tourists, such as the downing of a Russian passenger jet last October.

As Anti EU Feeling Grows, Austria Seizes The Initiative From Britain

Since the restoration of sanity after World War Two, Austria has been ruled by just two political parties the Social Democrats (SPOe) or their centre-right coalition partners the People’s Party (OeVP). The result of the presidential elction held over last weekend, if confirmed will, for the first time since 1945, mean Austria does not have a president supported by either side of this complacent binary system. The situation has been similar to the cosy duopolies if Labour and Conservative in the UK and Republican and Democrat in the USA.

As in the UK and USA both parties have gradually abandoned their philosophical bases and drifted towards a politically correct, globalist consensus. And as in the UK, the left has lost votes to a rebellious movement with a green tag, and the centrist conservatives to more traditional right wing movements. But no-one I think predicted the slaughter of the dying parties in the first round of the Austrian presidential election; between them they didn't even scrape 23% of the vote. This eclipse of the centre is similar to what happened in Poland at the last national election, when the former governing party was reduced to an irrelevant rump because it was perceived as being controlled by Brussels.

The winner of this first round and Austria's President elect, Norbert Hofer, from the radical right is anti EU and pro gun, and in the home of Glock where a pistol or handgun license is as easy to get as a shotgun license in the UK, he's not the only resident to pack a G19. In the second round of voting in May it is possible SPOe and OeVP voters will united behind the Green candidate (whom they hate slightly less that they hate Hofer) to deny the anti - EU vote its democratic victory. That outcome is by no means certain. The Green candidate supports the full package of wishy washy, immigrant loving, common sense hating, politically correct sentimentality that passes for a package of policies among Europe's consensus parties and so enough people who voted out of loyalty to parties they have supported in the long term could decide it is time to vote for Austria and reject globalism and the destruction of European civilisation.

A recent poll has given Chancellor Werner Faymann a 72% approval for his action in sealing the Balkans migrant route, a 180° about-turn from his previous alignment with Merkel. What is not in doubt is that the people of Austria are aligned with Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary in their attitude toward migrants.

And with last summer's migrant invasion via Italy about to start, Faymann faces a stark choice; seal the Italian border effectively, or lose power completely. We could well see some very angry Italian and EU politicians this Summer, andrdian's uber some squalid migrant camps filled with woman hating Jihadists around the Tuscan holiday home of left wing Guardian newspaper's politically correct hypocrite in chief, white guilt addict Polly Toynbee'.

Migrants Riot And Use BATTERING RAM To Smash Through E U Border Checkpoint

Migrants, mostly Muslims from the Middle East, who, as we reported yesterday, have massed at the border between Greece, their point of arrival on European soil, and Macedonia, a small E U  country through which they must pass to continue their journey to the welfare handout promised lands of northern Europe, have earlier today used a home-made battering ram in an attempt to force their way through a border control point between greece and Macedonia. They also threw rocks at police, who retaliated with tear gas.

The migrants destroyed a gate on the border but Macedonian military personnel were on hand and it is not clear if any rioters actually managed to get through the broken gate. Today’s events signal an escalation of the violence that has become the trade mark of these people, who are not needy refugees or political asylum seekers fleeing persecution but economic migrants . The disturbances, which began yesterday, when migrants held a demonstration, blocking railway lines whilst shouting “open the border”, which demonstrates the sense of entitlement instilled into these people by left wing propaganda that tells them they are needed and will be welcomed in Europe..

Macedonia began to close off its border with Greece in January of this year, as the number of migrants entering from Turkey continued to grow, far outstripping the million plus seen last year. According to Reuters, another 110,000 have arrived this year, mostly from Turkey via Greece.

Around 6,500 have built up on the Greek side since the Macedonian authorities said they would only allow Syrians and Iraqis through last week, blocking the passage of those from Afghanistan, North Africa and elsewhere.

Macedonia is just one of several Balkan countries to have erected fences in an attempt to reduce the influx of migrants. There has been a so-called domino effect, as countries including Germany, Sweden, Austria and Hungary have all partially or completely closed off their borders.

Alexis Tsipras, the Greek Prime Minister, has threatened to block EU legislation, including David Cameron’s “reform deal”, unless other member states accept more migrants.

“We will not accept turning the country into a permanent warehouse of souls with Europe continuing to function as if nothing is happening”, he said last week, adding: “Greece will not agree to deals (in the EU) if a mandatory allocation of burdens and responsibilities among member countries is not secured.”
Tsipras also withdrew the Greek ambassador from Vienna in protest at the lack of support being offered by other nations during the migrant crisis. Austria is now accepting only 80 migrants a day.

If EU leaders cannot agree that travellers arriving at the EU's external borders without passports or any travel documents must eith be turned away or housed in special camps, if EU 'human rights' rules prevent member states from rounding up illegal immigrants and deprting them, if Hausfrau - Voksfuhrer wo instigated the migrant crisis as part of a stratedy for German domination of Europe cannot be persuaded she is wrong and is destroying the EU, then the community of nations will disintegrate.

Britain should leave before that happens. Multiculturalism has failed. Globalism is just another term for Corporate Naziism.

In doing so, it has overturned a EU convention which insists that asylum seekers must register in the first country they reach. Germany will now cease handing out forms which ask new arrivals to declare where they landed in the EU.
