Game Over For Zelensky - NATO andEU Officials Urge Ukraine To Seek Peace

As this blog predicted early last month, following the catastrophic failure of Ukraine's 'counter offensive' to push Russian troops out of their country, American and European leaders who have previously been solidly behind the doomed Ukrainian war with its powerful neighbour, are rapidly going cool on their pledges of unlimited support for puppet - president Zelensky and his far - right masters.

Reuters reports today that  U.S. and European officials have spoken to the Ukrainian government about what possible peace negotiations with Russia might entail to end the war. An anonymous source in the U.S. administration official and one former U.S. official as saying that contacts in Kiev are being advised to consider what concessions Russia might accept in order to end the fighting.

The war in Ukraine, which began when Russian forces crossed the border with the aim of forcing th Kiev regime to cease its ethnic cleansing campaign in the predominantly Russian speaking Donbas region in the east of the country, has now cost thousands of lives on both sides and destroyed vast acreages oif agricultural land. It has also brought the world closer to nuclear war than at any time since the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis.

While mainstream media in the western powers has stuck rigidly, and increasingly ridiculously, to the official narrative that "Ukaine is winning," the reality is that Ukraine has been totally crushed and is unlikely ever to recover as a nation..

In our posting yesterday Boggart Blog reported that in an interview with the The Economist this week, Ukraine's top commander admitted there will be no breakthrough and the battlefield situation is in a stalemate. The New York Times characterized his remarks as "the first time a top Ukrainian commander said the fighting had reached an impasse." In fact his admission was more than that, it was an acknowledgement that the counter offensive has failed, Russia is holding the territory it wanted to occupy without difficulty and in effect the war is lost and to continue fighting is a pointless waste of money and lives.

Back in September the writing was already on the wall when the previously pro Ukraine   New York Times administered a harsh dose of reality to anyone foolish enough to cling to the belief that Ukraine had any realistic hope of pushing the Russian army out of Donbas, southeastern Ukraine, and the Crimean peninsula. Its detailed report revealed that the result of the Ukrainian counteroffensive, "Russia now controls nearly 200 square miles more territory in Ukraine compared with the start of the year."

MapL Institute for the Study of War (ISW)

The former Ukrainian provinces (oblasts,) now under Russian control almost exactly match the goals set by President Vladimir Putin at the start of his "special military operation." He said then that Russia sought only to secure Ukraine's Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts (provinces) where the Kiev regime had been attacking ethnic Russian communities since 2014, when a US / NATO backed coup led to the overthrow of a democratically elected government and the installation of aa authoritarian,  anti-Russia government in Kiev. Russia now also controls most of the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson oblasts, giving Russia a land bridge to the Crimean Peninsula, which Russia annexed in 2014. Putin had recognised Donetsk and Luhansk as independent republics shortly before the invasion to give a veneer of legitimacy to his actions. Russian forces now control nearly all of those areas and has clearly defeated Ukrain's American and European allies in what was described by many pundits as a proxy war against Russia.

If You're Afraid Of Nuclear War You're Not Supporting Ukraine Enough Is Zelensky's Latest Message
The follow up to Elon Musk's refusal to open his Starlink satellite network for the benefit of Ukrainian military leaders as they fantasise about attacking Crimea and driving out the Russian occupying force this past week showcases how completely unhinged and dangerous the Ukrainian government's desire to escalate the war has become.

There Is Only One Way Ukraine Can End The War
As Ukraine's much hyped counterattack has failed to achieved the and momentum that hoped for by American and NATO leaders including President Volodymyr Zelensky who admitted it was "slower than desired", and a range of soldiers interviewed by BBC and Sky News television reporters t on different parts of the long (probably too long given the depletion of Ukrainian military manpower,) frontline have blamed minefields laid by Russian troops for that delay. Well as is often said, in any wartruth is the first casualty.

Ukraine’s Long-Term Plan To Blow-Up The Kakhova Dam Exposed
Russian President Vladimir Putin has addressed the Nova Kakhovka dam blast on Wednesday for the first time, charging that it was a "barbaric act" of the Ukrainian government and its military forces. Ukraine has in its turn blamed Russian forces for blowing up the huge dam which holds back 18 cubic kilometers of water, along with the hydroelectric power plant, and President Volodomyr Zelensky condemned “Russian terrorists”. Russian officials claimed the dam was damaged by Ukrainian military strikes.

Washington Leaks Show Ukraine Has Lost The War (And Expose The Dishonesty Of Western Governments And Media)
The leaked U.S. intelligence documents recently published in western mainstream media have exposed the extent to which pro - war propaganda suggesting Ukraine was winning the war is now seen to be a US & NATO led effort to weaken Russia and effect regime change. It looks more likely some western governments are facing regime change as citizens, tired of sky - high energy costs, soaring food prices, and of being lied ...

Zelensky Admits Ukraine Already Ran Out Of Ammo
The US-led West’s Mainstream Media (MSM) began reporting more accurately on the military-strategic dynamics of the NATO-Russian proxy war in Ukraine since the start of the year, but the true test of their comparatively improved integrity will be whether they raise awareness about Zelensky’s latest damning admission. In an interview with Japanese newspaper Yomiuri Shimbun, he candidly told his interlocutors that “We do not have ammunition. For us the situation in the East is not good.”

Dollar Dominance Will Be The Biggest Casualty Of War In Ukraine
While the mainstream news cycle focuses on Ukraine and speculation about when the strategically significant city of Bakhmut, beseiged by the Russian army for months now, will actually fall, with Ukrainian defenders vowing to fight to the last man but gradually being forced into a smaller and smaller area of the city centre, in the more significant economic war Russia, China and Iran, backed by India, Saudi Arabia and many other African and South East Asian nations are pushing ahead with moved to dump the US dollar as the global reserve currency

Ukraine: Who Is Winning And Losing In The Economic War
One year ago today, to provide a legal framework for Russian military support to Donetsk and Luhansk which would take the form of a military incursion into Ukrainian territory on February 24, the Russian President Vladimir Putin had signed executive orders to recognize the Donetsk People's Republic and the Lunhansk People's Republic as independent countries

Talk of Sending Fighter Planes to Ukraine Is Madness
President Zelensky’s warmongering speech to the UK Parliament yesterday unequivocally and unashamedly made the case for starting World War 3 in order to polish the oversized ego of this little clown with the piano playing penis when he demanded that Nato-grade fighter jets to be sent to Ukraine.

Soros Encourages Obama Administration To Further Interference In Ukraine While western leaders continue to pose as the guys with white hats in the confrontations with Russia and China, hacker collective CyberBerkut has leaked some hacked documents which show Russia is not behind the escalation of provocation, but the guys in black hats who really run western governments, led by George Soros.

US Presidents Of The Past warned Against Secret, Shadow Government. By now it should be obvious that peacemake, joybringer and putative aquatic pedestrian Barack Hussein Obama was never really in charge of the US Government. Whatever Obama said would happen, all the American government's policies ensured the opposit would happen. The embedded article thows some light on how the US government really works

Libya, Syria, Yemen: Sectarian conflict threatens entire Middle East
Another failure of US foreign policy leads to threat of war as a coalition of 10 Sunni Arab states launches a military offensive against Shiite Houthi militants in Yemen, recently proclaimed by America’s president as a brilliant example of war on terror, but now catapulting the Middle East into the inferno of battle.

US Becoming Isolated As Key Ally Japan Considers Joining China-Led Investment Bank
Japan's foreign minister signaled cautious approval of the institution that the United States has warned against. The opposition to the AIIB began crumbling after Britain said earlier this month that it would join the institution, saying it was in its national interest. France, Germany and Italy swiftly followed suit.

We The Good Guys Versus They The Bad Guys Reporting Does Not Make Sense For The Ukraine Crisis
Mainstream media reporting of the conflict in Ukraine has disappointed. Perhaps I was naive to suppose that lessons might have been learned from the hits their print sales and online traffic rates took as a result of their handling the COVID pandemic But instead of focusing on the most obviously newsworthy aspect of the build up to and escalation of the war, Russia’s view of NATO expansion into Ukraine and even further to Georgia and Kazakhstan, news reports have simply demonised Russia and portrayed Ukraine as the good guys.

Debunked: The Great Renewable Green Delusion
The war in Ukraine has not caused the global energy crisis of early 2022 byt merely exacerbated it. Currently the nations currently in conflict with Russia over its incursion into Ukraine are those which are most dependent for their energy needs on Russian oil and gas. And now their loonytoons 'net zero' green energy policies have failed they are biting the hand that feeds them.

Never Mind The Propaganda, What Is The Real State Of Play Around Ukraine?

by Egbert Nohbakkon, 24 January 2023

When discussing the progress of the Ukraine war, there are two heresies that if expressed by a person trying to present a realistic and balanced report on the current situation are guaranteed to attract a lage hate - mob of Belendskyyyy fan - club cultists. The first of these is to suggest that Putin may yet prevail in smashing the liberal order in the US / EU / NATO alliance that nas been propping up Bellendskyyyy and the corrupt, neo - Nazi regime in Kiev. The second is that the Russians may have actually triumphed in this already. Western leaders are never going to admit that Russia has outplayed them on all fronts, slowly gringing away in the shooting war while radpidly undermining US hegemony and dollar dominance in the economic conflict.

The  alternative reality inhabited by the Bellendskyyyyy fan club is honourably black and white. Moved by the braveey and stoicism of the Ukrainians, we demand the wetern alliance pumps more and more high tech wesponary and specialist 'support' personnel into the theatre of war until a just victory is delivered for Ukraine's regime.

But the fact is that despite daily reports fot the past six months at least that Ukrainian troops had routed the invading Russians ans were rapidly advancing on Murmansk and Vladivostock, (you might need to look at a map to get that one,) Ukraine is not on course for outright victory. Quite the contrary, as it stands it cannot eliminate Russian forces and, in fact, is increasingly on the back foot. Zelensky’s reconquest of the country is faltering. The much hyped recapture of Kherson by Ukrainian forces was in fct simply a case of the Ukrainian army walking into a city from which Russia had withdrawn  its troops in order to consolidate behind more easily defensible lines ahead of winter. Similarly the reported advances by Ukraine in the Donbas region were simply a reoccupation of flat, sparsely populated farmland as, having crossed those plains to concentrate its forces around the strategic targets of Bakhmut and Soledar.

With the NATO members hesitating on supplying modern, heavy battle tanks tanks, the Ukrainian military command does not have sufficient weapons to launch preemptive strikes before Putin escalates in spring. And if the truth was acknowledged by mainstream media, nor do they habe the troop numbers.

*

For all the weakness of Putin’s military, we are heading for, at best, a catastrophic stalemate, and at worst, a decisive Russian breakthrough. Although Ukraine has the numbers and resolve to uphold its sovereignty, its Russian counterparts have superior stockpiles of weapons and ammunition. Moreover, the Kremlin is reportedly set to mobilise half a million new conscripts as it seeks to escalate the war from drones and artillery to planes and tanks – a massive shift.

This makes the West’s current strategy increasingly untenable. Until now, it has lent Ukraine just enough help to drag out the war in an effort to grind down the Russian military, while stopping short of the kind of intervention that might decisively shift the outcome. But as Russia changes the conflict’s dynamics, Ukraine, deprived of the necessary capabilities, could quickly go from having the upper hand to a cataclysmic rout.

The west has become soft, weak and morally degenerate . Russia China and other malicious groups can see this and are using our values of trust , openness and democracy to undermine our society . People's lives in the west have become too easy. The priorities are wrong - work for many is optional , taxes for those who do are too high and governments prefer socialism and virtue signalling - on matters such as climate change, net zero, equality , human "rights" , saving the planet , "free" trade [including with enemies] , the "peace" dividend , international charity , "free" welfare for all and excusing crime - to ensuring social stability ,economic health & national security. In the end socialists always run out of other peoples money .....We know that if pursued relentlessly socialism doesn't produce the intended utopia but still we persist .

Government polices are also undermining the family and tradition - values which have worked for centuries . Free speech , individual and personal responsibly, self help , incentives to work and to save - all are under threat. Meanwhile governments favour the regulation and monitoring of every aspect of our lives , money printing and borrowing [ apparently suspending the laws of economics & the business cycle] , the preservation of the "environment" , a spend now- pay later culture , an obsession with net zero , immigration , identity politics and equality. It s not that such things don't have some merit but the balance has become completely distorted . Voters who can see this, are it seems longer in the majority and even if they were have little influence. The west looks to be in a slow death spiral . It all feels very fin de siecle and like the last days of Rome.

The West is walking towards disaster. In 1992 we thought Russia was a basket-case ready to be absorbed and that China was in our pocket as we moved toward a one world government on the basis of UN Agenda 21 and social liberalism. Slowly it became apparent that neither were on-board with the agenda. Unable to drop the long held plan we chose conflict rather than cooperation. Fortunately for their sanity, most people in the West think Ukraine is another local squabble before normal service is resumed. It is a tragedy almost beyond belief.

Liberal democracies increasingly resigned to their own decline and weary of the traditional values that have held nation states together values – not least the values of individual freedom and personal sovereignty. This decline was highlighted in Putin's comment to the FT that “the liberal idea” had “outlived its purpose. It also chimes with global ambivalence to the Ukraine war. South Africa has just given Lavrov a warm reception, while other countries have abstained in the UN and/or continue trading with Russia. Even in Germany half the population backs Scholz's unwillingness to supply tanks.

Why is this happening now? Surely it is because Western values have changed. When the Berlin wall fell, we still stood for freedom - to vote, publish, study, work, travel and trade. Many countries liked that and moved towards democracy. We seem now to be losing faith in those freedoms, preferring to criticise and apologise for our own history and previous social values and to tolerate government overreach in response to (mainly manufactured,) crises. Even free speech is under assault from the new morality of wokeism, and government agencies very similar to The Thought Police of Orwell's dydtopian novel '1984' establishing systems of total surveillance and policing all our social interactions for instances of 'hate speech' or questioning of the regimes narratives, and ever watchful for unconscious isms and phobias.

No wonder the world doesn't feel inspired by what liberalism has degenerated into. At least Russia believes in its own values. China, India, the Islamic world and Christian Africa can relate to that, notably Russia's rejection of the west's disproportionate emphasis on LBGT lifestyles and sex equality at the expense of family life, and the cultural ties that bind societies.

NATO, which the Taliban defeated in Afghanistan and the proxies of which, in the shape of Islamic State, was defeated by Syria, Iran and Russia in the middle east, will also be defeated in Ukraine. It's inevitable. The supply lines to the fronts in this conflict are a hundredfold better for Russia than for NATO. On tanks alone, Russia has 10,000 units of all sorts of quality while Britain sends 14 units and Germany dithers about 100 units, and the USA refuses to send any.

That's quite comical, yet the Bellendskyyyyyy fan club, always well represented in internet comment threads claim these paltry few tanks, which while touted as likely game changers in the conflict, are decades old designs and technologies.

We've been here before, HIMARS was the magic wand until it wasn't. NLAW and Javelin were the magic wands until they weren't. Now Patriot systems are (not) working their magic against cheap drones (imagine the cost-benefit analysis of firing Patriot missiles against drones powered by lawnmower engines,) and the mighty Challenger and Leopard 2 will (not) be forcing the Ruskies to turn tail. What next will be the magic bullet against the Ruskies and why is a magic bullet needed when according to the official narrative Ukraine has been winning the war from the very early days? And come to that, if the narrative is true why has Ukraine not already advanced to Archangel and Vladivostock, conquering the whole of Russia in the process.

The fan club have cheered the Ukrainians for every real and propaganda victory. Some have even suggested the nuking of Moscow (yeah, right) and the killing of Putin (why would you assume his replacement will be milder?) while others have claimed he is already dead. Yet, right now, the Ruskies control 20% of Ukraine, (an area the size of England). Here we are. Where will we be in 6 months? Gloating in Moscow (unlikely) or whimpering in Kiev) possible)? If only the Ukrainians knew how to live as a neutral party next to wannabe hegemonic a giant as Mexico and Canada have learned to do.

Europe's Economy And Living Standards Are Plummeting
As the multiple crises in Europe deepen with no sign of relief in sight, Oriental Review comments that the ill-considered sanctions against Russia, far from achieving their objective of pressuiring Moscow into ending its war in Ukraine, have exposed the deep rooted problems of the European Union which is rapidly approaching economic collapse. Without offering any evidence in support of its allegation the article states that a large number of businesses are on the verge of bankruptcy.

Do We Have A Winter Of Civil Disobedience Ahead?
As many people in Britain slap on the apres sun gloop in the wake of what passes for a heatwave in these cool cloudy climes, our inept politicians caught with their pants down by unusual weather as usual have heard that that winter is coming and are making plans for a coldwave. We are in the grip of an energy crisis at the height of summer. Last week, it was reported that the UK government is laying down plans for a “reasonable worst-case scenario” including blackouts for industry and even households. And this is as energy prices spiral out of control to new records every day.

Is Russia Selling Its Oil To The World Through An Obscure Egyptian Port?
As this blog predicted when NATO and EU member states shot themselves in the foot by reacting to Russia's invasion of Ukraine with sanctions that prevented Russia from selling oil, gas and vital raw materials to the countries that needed them most, the NATO and EU member states, the Russians have had no problems finding alternative customers for their gas and oil and no problem getting oil into the world's commodity markets through the back door.

Are US Supplied Long Range Missiles Really Winning The War For Ukraine?
Since very soon after the start of the war between Russia and Ukraine western powers, USA, UK, EU and NATO have been doing everything possible to prolong and escalate the war. Jingoistic Western Triumphalism Will Not End The War In Ukraine Or Cripple Putin, But It Is Crippling Western Nations

As the war in Ukraine grinds on and Russia steps up its economic war against the west and in particular The European Union, claims made recently by the idiotically 'woke' leaders of Europe's main economic and military powers that the West has a once-in-a–generation chance to severely weaken Russia’s capabilities, both militarily and geopolitically, look increasingly hollow. Putin's critics have cited 'Western unity' as one of the main reasons why Russia will be economically destroyed and politically humiliated when the Ukraine's military finally claim victory.

Letting Sweden and Finland Join Nato Will Only Increase The Threat To European Security

Shortly before his re-election in 2012, President Obama was caught in an open mic moment assuring Russian  surrogate president Dmitry Medvedev that, Obama, he would have total control over the location of Nato missiles once he was back in the White House for another four years.

Obama asked Medvedev  to pass this on to Vladimir Putin, then poised to begin a second spell as Russian President. The American President hinted that he believed Moscow’s security grievances about NATO expansion were legitimate.

The Obama administration went on to engineer the coup which overthrew the pro-Russian government of Ukraine in 2014 and replaced them with a far right, Russophobic loose coalition of nationalists, EU supporters and neo - Nazis. Fearing that Ukraine might join NATO as Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Chechia, Hungary, Romania and several other Warsaw Pact nations had. Once back in charge Putin seized Ukrainian Crimea, allegedly in retaliation for the new Ukrainan government's persecution of Russian speaking minorities in Ukraine and to secure Russian control of Sebastapol, the main base of his Black Sea navy.

We question the mainstream narrative's claim that the annexation of Crimea was 'In retaliation' for anything. As this blog's contributors understand the history of that event the Russian speaking occupants of Crimea that voted to re-establish their direct connection to Russia,  with 90% expressing the wish to be part of Russia rather than the new Ukraine. Was Putin going to refuse such a gift?

It seems mainstream media are looking sideways at each other as to how to spin the current situation in Ukraine, as it clearly is not following their narrative upheld so vehemently for so long. Militarily Russia holds a winning hand. Politically there are 'Jokers' in the pack, supported by a West that has an inbred hatred of anything Russian that stems from even before the 'Cold War'.

There is much the West did not understand about Ukraine in 2014 and still does not understand now:

https://tapnewswire.com/202...

After making warlike noises Obama accepted Putin's fait accompli rather than risk conflict with Russia over NATO expansionism. Instead, a low-level war broke out in eastern Ukraine where the Russian-speaking majority sought autonomy.

Dribbling, demented Joe Biden took office inheriting from both Obama and Donald Trump a source of permanent discord that Moscow called an existential threat which it would not tolerate.

Although he has mainly followed his mentor’s policies, something changed in the attitude to Putin of Biden’s foreign policy team, most of whom had served under Obama and had shied from confrontation over Crimea. The thinking seemed to have become some version of: let’s neutralise the Russians by just ignoring them.

As a result of his inability to force the US into serious negotiations, Putin has waged war on Ukraine since February. The Obama doctrine of caution has been replaced by a gauntlet thrown down to Putin.

Now that the Swedes and Finns have sumitted their applications to join NATO,only Turkey’s threatened veto can prevent them, and once they sign up to the mutual defence treaty a line will have been crossed that will not be acceptable to Russian foreign policy or military strategy officials.

Admitting them to the alliance adds 800 miles of Finnish border with Russia for the potential deployment of Nato missiles and troops. It pushes Putin deeper into confrontation with the west and seriously complicates the prospect of ending the war in Ukraine soon.

How far does Nato expect Putin to swallow this enlargement on top of the one he is fighting in Ukraine to prevent? To what extent do we in the West trust in the ability of Biden to force him to do so without risking an incalculable wider conflict?

As the threat of escalation beyond Ukraine's bordersd mounts between NATO and Russia, it is clear that Biden blundered badly last year when he paid scant attention to Putin’s attempts to force the US into constructive talks, backed up with a military mobilisation on the Ukrainian border.

The Presidents held two summits in 2021 with Ukraine on the agenda. They met in person in Geneva in June and conferred by video conference in December without apparent progress.

The same month, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov formally laid out Moscow’s basic demands for the withdrawal of Nato forward forces from alliance members bordering Russia and irreversible denial of Nato membership to Ukraine.

When US and Russian envoys met in Geneva in January, the Americans said no more than that some of Nato’s deployments might be discussed but refused to budge on Ukraine. Since there was no follow-up, Putin struck into Ukraine on February 24. His forces are now sitting on their gains, undeterred by sanctions and the supply of western weapons and military hardware so that the Krazies in Kiev can keep the war going.

While the entire West accused the Russians of unprovoked aggression, even Pope Francis suggested to the Corriere della Sera that it may have overreached. He said the ‘barking of NATO at Russia’s door’ may have forced Putin to invade after parading his army so demonstrably on the border.

It is possible that this is exactly what Washington wanted all along, knowing in advance how much resistance the Ukrainians, whom they advised and armed, were prepared to put up. When the war began, US media quoted an anonymous US official as saying that ‘now we’ve got him where we want him’ – clearly an unprovoked aggressor, depending on how the lack of provocation was defined in a broader context.

In fact the Russian incursion into Ukrainian territory has been marked by its restraint. Where western military interventions have been typified by heavy, indiscriminate missile and artillery bombardment, air strikes and carpet bombing, Russia's formidable air force has stayed on the ground and attacks by ground forces have been focused on cities known to be strongholds of the anti - Russian Azov regiments.

The real danger here is that Putin's restraint is being seen as weakness. Driven only by money and power, as the globalists are - without a moral value to be seen, and the dribbling Biden is of course their creature - the idea of conducting hostilities with a view to minimising civilian casualties is simply not understood.

Had Putin conducted a blitzkreig on Galicia and reduced the place to ashes the queue to join NATO would not be there. The danger is that this failure to see the values driving the Russian position will eventually result in a reaction of massive reaction. The defeat of Ukraine is already a reality - no amount of war - glorifying propaganda or media yapping will alter that, and our disgusting Johnson regime has shamed every Briton and the name of humanity with its toadying to the globalist agenda.

What happens is that countries like Finland and Sweden ask to join NATO because they are scared of Russia smashing them up as it is now doing to Ukraine.

Has Russia the manpower or resources to do that ? I do not think so. It looks like a fantasy to me. Both countries have an excellent army and are well prepared. To attack Russia would have to have won in Ukraine and rebuilt it's army. In the case of Sweden I fail to grasp why they have given up decades of neutrality. Other than the way the Europeans seem now to be driven by emotion rather than common sense.

Everything suits China now. The West is weak and financially bankrupt. The sanctioning of Russia and the seizure of Russian overseas reserves might have been ordered by the CCP. It was dumb.

China can now tell the unaligned world that the West is untrustworthy. The target for now is the removal of the USD as the reserve currency. If the petrodollar can be removed all the better. We are in danger. Not from China which has no need for a war to obtain dominance but from an angered US watching it's position in the world undermined.

The  Democrat administration in Washington is a bunch of idiots who think their mission is to impose 'woke' ideology on the world, led by a President in the middle stages of dementia who is unable to grasp the simplest concept of strategy. In Europe we have completely given up on rational thought. Boris Johnson is an embarrassment but no more so than any other Nato leader.

'Russia was not a European threat until Nato asked Ukraine to join'
Technically speaking NATO does not issue invitations to prospective new members. But the governments of some individual members do encourage the governments of some non-members to apply to join, a process that is probably with the approval of NATO officials.

The US and UK wanted and schemed for exactly this to happen. Good for their MICs, OGMCs and bad for Europe, in particular Germany.

What's not to like?

Unfortunately they 'forgot' that Russia would then team up with China, India&co and that their illegal confiscations would lead to de-dollarization and its serious consequences.
Finland&Sweden going into NATO will only have one security consequence, the same as bases in Eastern Europe have: an increased risk of an accidental nuclear launch.
As for the idiotic, suicidal politicians, media and public in Europe and in particular Germany, who cannot or do not want to see that they are just being fleeced and taken for a ride by the Americans and Brits who have opposing national intetests here, they can't be helped.

NATO was established to counter the threat of the Soviet Union's Warsaw Pact. When the Soviet Union fell apart between 1989-1991 that threat was removed. A diminished Russia posed no real threat in terms of expansionism, so NATO became a force for globalist imperialism, expanded remorselessly and mercilessly crushed any regime that became an obstacle to its geolpolitical ambitions. The idea that any Russian leader would accept the loss of his main naval port is insane. Talk of admitting Ukraine into NATO was nothing other than an outright declaration of war against Russia.

Syria - style Chemical Weapon False Flag Attacks Coming Soon To Ukraine

Life is becoming impossible for the people of Ukraine's beseiged cities - Picture: Business Insider

For two weeks now the content of mainstream media ews has been dominated by by the Russian incursion into Ukraine attack launched with the sole aim of conquering Ukraine and absorbing it back into the Russian empire, thus advancing Vladimir Putin's alleged ambition to recreated the Soviet Union. Bizarrely there is almost no mention of the fact that Russia;s action is a response to almost nine years of Western provocations.

These provocations were initiated  by a coup d'etat enginered by the deep state agencies of The USA and other NATO member states and culminated in the Euromaidan colour revolution in November 2013, which ousted the corrupt but democratically - elected administration of then-President Viktor Yanukovych. The real reason Yanukovych was overthrown was that globalist interests were miffed at his  decision to suspend an EU trade deal and move his country towards closer economic ties with Russia.

As soon as the new US / NATO /EU sponsored, Russia hating, far-right sympathisers that made up the Western-backed post-Maidan government took office they began moves to force ethnic Russians out of Ukraine. This led Moscow to annex the Crimean Peninsula and to the predominantly ethnic Russian Donetsk and Luhansk regions in eastern Ukraine region breaking away from Kiev’s control and declaring themselves independent republics in April 2014.

A near eight-year long civil war in Ukraine, involving Kiev-supported neo-Nazi factions such as Azov Battalion and Right Sector, and ethnic Russian guerillas in the breakaway republics have so far cost an estimated 14,000 deaths across both sides.

The Minsk Agreements between Ukrainian and Russian leaders, brokered by France and Germany for the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe set out a framework within which Donetsk and Luhansk would be granted a degree of autonomy whilst still remaining under Ukrainian rule.

However the Kiev regime decided that they would not honour their side of the deal, a as well as the continuing their attacks on the ethnic Russians in Donbass, giving themselves a false sense of security based on the assumption that Ukraine would eventually be admitted as a NATO member and host weapons and troops intended to attack Russia,.Their belief that NATO membership would ultimately force Moscow to accept the genocide of ethnic Russians in Ukraine was incredibly naive. Their failure to understand the continued harassment of Russians in Ukraine would eventually provoke Moscow into launching a military intervention into its Western neighbour in order to “demilitarise and de-Nazify” the country was beyond stupid.

In the two weeks since Russian troops crossed the Ukrainian border the military-industrial-complex / media narrative of the ‘Ukrainian resistance’ has made it clear that of the US and its allies is to drag Moscow into a military quagmire in the second largest country in Europe which will not help the people of Ukraine about whom the US led alliance claims, this conflict is being waged. Neither will it help the oppressed people of Ukraine's breakaway Donbas region who have been under attack by the Ukrainian government for the pas eight years. In fact the aim of the west seems only to be the creation of a war of attrition that will cripple Europe's second largest nation and a vastly important food producer with the result that living costs will soar in prosperous nations and there will be serious food shortages in many poorer nation of Africa and South East Asia.

The American led western alliance used the same ploy against the Kremlin  in 1979, at the height of the Cold War, American and European deep state agencies would bean surreptitiously arming and training Islamist fundamentalists known collectivey as the Mujahideen and including a group led by Osama Bin Laden that would later become Al Qaeda.

Years later, in an interview Zbigniew Brzezinski, President Carter's National Security Advisor to US President Jimmy Carter recounted how, in 1979 drawing the USSR into a costly military intervention was a motivating factor in the activities of the CIA, MI6 and the French secret service.

Despite the current intention of the deep state and the war lobby apparently being draw the Russian Federation into an Iraq war-style mess however, there also appears to be an element who favour a far more dangerous approach. They are calling for a Libya-style no fly zone over Ukraine, with US / NATO air forces given orders to engage and shoot down Russian aircraft, which would inevitably trigger a catastrophic third world war involving the use of nuclear weapons.

Despite this clamour for a Western military intervention in Ukraine, which is getting vociferous support from people in internet comment threads who are so deluded from reading nothing but propaganda, as to believe such a war is winnable by either side, US President Joe Biden, Boris Johnson, Emmanuel Macron and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg have stated unequivocally that such an act is not an option, citing the global nuclear conflict that would undoubtedly follow would result in, to use a cold war phrase, Mutually Assured Destruction.

Whatever the common sense being uttered by the current military advisers of our leaders, word on the street is the deep state elements in these military powers are already preparing to carry out a false flag operation in Ukraine, one with the intention of implicating Moscow in an act so outrageous it will be impossible to resist calls for military escalation, and to manipulate public and political opinion into supporting a NATO military intervention.

We have been here before of course, in 2017 the government of Bashar Al Assad in Syria had been involved in a six-year long conflict with Western-backed, Islamic fundamentalist irregulars armed and trained by US and allied nations. The guerillas, known as ISIS, al Nusra, ISIL and various other names were a proxy for a NATO / United Nations regime change campaign launched in response to Assad’s 2009 refusal to allow Qatar and Saudi Arabia to build a pipeline through his country, a development that would have, and was intended to undermine Russia's position as a key exporter of oil and gas to Europe..

The funding and training of Islamic terrorists groups by the west powers, with the openly declated intention of replacing Assad’s secular Muslim government with a Western-friendly religious fundamentalist theocracy amounted to a proxy war by the American led coalition on a nation that was an ally of Russia, China and Iran.

In June 2013, after Putin had faced down the bid of Muslim sympathiser Barack Obama to create a pretext for ordering American and NATO troops into Syria, Iran and the Hezbollah group in Lebanon entered the proxy war at the request of the Syrian government, providing a key role in assisting Damascus in repelling the Western-backed terrorist campaign. This was probably one of the main reason  behind Assad's survival in office.  tide of the conflict in the Arab Republic’s favour however, come in September 2015.

The decisive factor in the defeat of the terrorists, after they had swept through the region taking control of vast swathes of Syrian, Iraqui and Kurdish territory was the delivery of Russian air support and technical advisers, again at the request of the Syrian government, enabling the targeting of terrorist strongholds with air strikes and artillery bombardment, and which allowed Damascus to retake the vast swathes of Syrian territory which had come under their control, such as the key city of Aleppo.

The Syrian regime change operation was heading for an embarrassing failure when warmongers in the anti Assad coalition finally resorted to desperate , stupid measures.

In early April 2017, a false flag  attack with chemical weapons (chlorine gas) was launched on the Syrian town of Khan Shaykhun, with western media leaping to denounce Syria's leader Assad as a war criminal within seconds of the bombs exploding. In spite of a lack of firm evidence that the attack was the work of the Assad regime, the US administration of Donald Trump launched cruise missiles strikes on a Syrian government airbase three days later.T.hough the regime-change lobby worked themselves into a state of hysteria demanding a full scale invasion, Trump stopped short of that fatal step which would have plunged the world into war.

A year later the same tactic was repeated when a poison gas attack on the the city of Douma, again  of dubious origin, resulted in the US, Britain and France launching air strikes against Syrian government targets, again stopping short of a full-scale intervention after Vladimir Putin repeated his warning that in the event of an attack on Syria Russia would give its ally full military support.

Without wishing to diminish the sheer criminality of using chemical weapons against civilians or even military personnel, the emergence of doubt about the originators of the attack remind us of how disastrous a NATO escalation of hostilities could have been. Should a similar false flag operation take place in Ukraine, perhaps also involving chemical weapons or a nuclear reactor  even a ‘limited’ strike against Russian military infrastructure would immediately place the world on an irreversible path to the most grave consequence of all – nuclear war.

Thus we should all be dismayed at rumours that certain elements among the nations and agencies supporting Ukraine in this conflict are considering a similar false flag outrage in order to force The USA,  UK and France to lead a direct military intervention to engage Russian forces on the ground and in the air in support of Ukraine and rapid escalation to the use of nuclear weapons. Unfortunately the propaganda signs suggest we are heading down the same road as in Syria, with anti Putin propaganda being ramped up just as anti - Assad was in the days preceding the alleged gas attacks there.

Only yesterday I hear on a BBC News report that Vladimir Putin "had invaded Ukraine in the same way as he invaded Estonia, Georgia and Syria. We know that the action in Georgia was not really an invasion but an incursion aimed at halting the process of Georgia's admission to NATO, I can find no evidence of any recent military action against Estonia beyond a couple of minor border incidents and as mentioned above Russian troops entered Syria in 2014 at the request of Syria's legitimate government, (whether the west likes them or not.) It was the US and NATO troops that were in Syria illegally although not in great enough numbers to be considered an invasion. However that BBC report and the way it was worded, though not important, illustrates how propaganda and misinformation are being used to ramp up support for western military involvement in Ukraine.

Aside provoking general outrage because of their indiscriminate nature and thus manipulating the public mood from opposition to the pointless death and destruction of large scale conflict to an almost bloodthirsty lust for revenge, chemical weapons are of little use strategically.  The gas attacks in Syria were a part of a disinformation campaign aimed at demonizing Assad and his regime. Experience gained in WW1 from large scale use of chemical weapons showed them to be  ineffective as offensive weapons. They’ve been used sporadically since then but were only deemed a necessary part of the military arsenal because 'the other side has them.'

Some people have described what took place in Syria as a crude attempt at using what were effectively swimming pool disinfecting chemicals to provide photo ops for the propaganda corps.

What hasn’t been widely reported in mainstream news is that there are a large number of biological laboratories in the Ukraine. The number reported as being under American control (26 if memory serves correctly) suggest it would be a good idea for them to be identified along with what they are working on. Ukraine is primarily an agricultural country so there could be all sorts of pathogens lurking quite legitimately in a lab that if released in an uncontrolled way could cause problems. But then, like Poland’s ‘secret CIA black site’, there’s always the possibility that something tucked away in an obscure part of a large country that nobody visits is up to something dodgy. Governments aren’t very trustworthy.

I recall that there was considerable controversy at the time over the allegations that Assad (not  Putin) had 'used chemical weapons against his own people' with scepticism being fuelled by news video of rescue workers dressed in T shirts, shorts and sandals (not a haz - mat suit insight) wandering among the wreckage tending the surprisingly healthy looking alleged victims of the alleged gas attack.
Initial reports from the Organisation for Prevention Of Chemical Weapons (OPCW)  seemed to support the official line that the Assad government was responsible for that attack, the weapons used having originated in Russia. This was debunked by a Wikileaks report which by revealing before and after versions of the report showed that the evidence and conclusions in the original had been heavily amended to bring the report into line with the US / NATO version of events which had been intended to provide justification for direct military action by US / NATO forces in Syria.
https://wikileaks.org/opcw-douma/
So Ed Miliband should not feel shame, he made the intelligent choice of turning away from nuclear war.Tom Harris however, should wear sackcloth for evermore for penning this idiotic driven if nothing else. Should The Pentagon succeed in dragging UK and Europe into a war with Russia it will become a nuclear war. And it's not a question of takings sides or of 'teaching that nasty bully Putin a lesson,' get real.   If you still think war with Russia would be a good idea keep repeating over and over to yourself that cold war phrase, "MUTUALLY ASSURED DESTRUCTION" because  that is what the people who support war are cheerleading for.

Storm Clouds Gathering Over Ukraine - Or Just The Usual Geopolitical Games

Sunday 23 January 2022

As the COVID-19 Killer Virus Pandemic narrative crumbles under the weight of evidence that the vaccines don't work and therefore vaccine passports are irrelevant, masks are useless, and lockdowns only trash national economies and destroy businesses, the elites are desperately looking for another scare story to distract public attention from the godawful mess they have made with their globalisation plans, green energy follies and open borders insanity.

Thus last weekBritain's Prime Minister Boris Johnson accused Russia of plotting to install a puppet leader in Kiev, and warned European Union leaders, particularly the newly installed government of Germany one suspects, against appeasement over Vladimir Putin’s demands over Ukraine, primarily that the western powers honour an agreement that NATO and the EU would not enroll former Warsaw Pact nations and Soviet Republics as members.

While the west now claims there was no such treaty, Russia takes a different view. Who is right? Well it'd difficult to say really. There was certainly a well documents informal deal between Boris Yeltsin and Bill Clinton that in exchange for Russia not obstructing German reunification, NATO would not expand into the former Warsaw Pact countries but because the Clinton era was a period of post - cold war rapproachment between Russia and the west this was never formalised as a treaty.

Since then east - west relations have deteriorated and gentlemens' agreements no longer count for much and as Russia, in its own perspective, masses troops close to the Ukraine border ostensibly for the protection of ethnic Russians in Ukraine, the west sees the moves by Moscow as indicative of Russian ambitions to annexe more Ukrainian territory.

While Johnson tries to put the UK at the head of an international effort to dissuade Russia from acting against Ukraine, Germany vacillates because of the country's dependence on Russian oil and gas due to the catastrophic failure of sustainable energy policies promoted by 'The Gren Blob' of bureaucrats, academics and the media. Meanwhile the USA's piss - poor, demented, geriatric president Joe Biden first threatens military action if Russia moves against Ukraine, then backs down, then promises trade sanctions such as have never been seen before, which would hit America's allies far harder that they would Russia and then appeared to condone a 'minor incursion' by Russian troops into Ukraine.

And while Emmanuel Macron ran around threatening trade war with the UK, internment camps for the unvaccinated and promises more help for illegal immigrants, UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss,  released specially declassified intelligence naming Yevhen Murayev, a former Ukrainian MP, as the Kremlin’s preferred candidate to take over the country following an invasion.

Britain is also understood to be considering backing the suspension of Russia from the Swift international payment scheme. Has our government forgotten that five years ago Russia and China launche a cross - border payments system to rival SWIFT and that over 100 counties (chiefly the ones that do most of their trsde with Russia, China and that bloc's allies,) are now involved in that system.

Apparently they have because Johnson believes possible sanctions “cannot exclude” Nordstream II, the controversial gas pipeline between Russia and the EU, and is due to hold calls with G7 leaders to finalise a “sanction coalition” to take targeted measures against oligarchs supporting the Russian president. So while excluding Russia from SWIFT would have little effect on Russia, which could easily trade through proxies, European Union member states would be plunged into an even deeper energy crisis than they are currently enduring.

Western leaders getting their kickers in a twist because they suspect Putin is planning to overthrow the puppet regime installed by the USA / NATO / EU sponsored colour revolution in 2014 and replace it with a puppet regime loyal to Moscow is nothing but a game of tit for tat I'd say.

But the Kiev government overthown in 2014 was democratically elected, unfortunately it just wasn't the government the west wanted in Ukraine.

This Geopolitical posturing demonstrates again how out of touch with the people of nations they lead the western leaders are. The Russian people want war as much as other Europeans and Americans or in a nutshell they do not want war any more than you or I. Putin had the support of his people over the Crimea, but they are not so solid on the Donetsk issue. If Russia invaded the Ukraine and put a puppet in charge it would have to be a repressive regime that would have to backed financially by Russia at the economic expense of the Russian people. In the long run Putin would be held to account by the Russian people.

How long would it take for Russia to defeat and impose a puppet regime in Ukraine and at what cost. Ukraine is not a small, impotent nation as some warmongers have claimed in support of their Russian bullying narrative. Ukraine is the second largest nation in Europe by land area after Russia and has a population of 40 million and a well equipped and well trained military, currently being supplied with 'lethal aid' by the biden regime.  The Ukrainians would put up a fight and could easily resist as effectively as the Finns did in 1940-41. There would be resistance however and the result would be NATO having to strengthen its borders and provide routes for support to the Ukrainian resistance. It would also lead to an arms race, that the American Industrial Military complex would welcome, independent of who is President. The Europeans would have to find alternative energy supplies, and perhaps should start doing so now.

But any such scenario overlooks the fact that the man threat to American / European economic hegemony is China, and the communist regime in the people's republic would see any kerfuffle involving the NATO powers and Russia as an opportunity.

Putin would be a fool to go ahead and invade the Ukraine now. He might have early successes, but in the long run it will be a disaster for him as I doubt the Russian people would go along with it as it would have disastrous economic consequences for them. It is equally true however, that Biden, Johnson and other weaetern leaders would be equally foolish to continue provoking Russia. In the European energy crisis Putin holds all the aces, were Germany persuaded to back the cancellation of Nord Stream 2 fuel and energy prices in Europe would rocked, economic output would stall and the green energy policies which we are told will transform life on earth will be exposed as another scam by the elites and the corporate cartels.

A shooting war with Russia would be catastrophic for Europe, and for America too because should hostilities break out China would certainly involve itself in support of its ally, but another cold war could have equally far reaching consequences as the west now depends on Chinese and South East Asian manufavturing for consumer goods as much as it depends on Russia for coal, oil and gas. Does anyone else get the feeling that the political virtue signalling which has dominated western policy making for two decades is about to be exposed for the vacuous charade it always was.
