Islamic State Leader Al-Baghdadi Killed Again?

The Russian Defence Department has claimed it has information, which is being verified through various channels, that the leader of Islamic State’s leader Abu-Bakr al-Baghdadi has been killed in a Russian airstrike on Raqqa, the last ISIS stronghold in Syria  on May 28.

The strikes targeted a reported meeting of high-ranking Islamic State leaders where al- Baghdadi was due to be present, the Russians say their intelligence services had discovered. The meeting had been called to plan the escape of militants from Raqqa through routes known as through the “southern corridor.”

Sources in Syria report that 30 field commanders and up to 300 militants were killed in the strike, among them the Emir of Raqqa Abu al-Haji al-Masri, Emir Ibrahim al-Naef al-Hajj who controlled the territortweey be the city of Raqqa and the settlement of es-Sohne and the Islamic State’s head of security Suleiman al-Sawah. Any news coming out of Syria should be treated with extreme scepticism of course.
Al-Baghdadi had not identified a successor but two of the aides who have emerged as his likely successors are Iyad al-Obaidi, his defense minister, and Ayad al-Jumaili, in charge of security. The latter had already reportedly been killed in an airstrike in April in al-Qaim region on Iraq’s border with Syria, but ISIS leaders seem to get killed every few weeks only to re - emerge a few weeks later.

The most likely successor of al-Baghdadi would be al-Obaidi. Both al-Jumaili and al-Obaidi had previously served as security officers in Iraq’s Baathist army under Saddam Hussein, and al-Obaidi is known to be the de facto deputy of al-Baghdadi.

The US State Department and the Pentagon have not confirmed either the death of al-Jumaili nor al-Baghdadi. US mainstream media is bending over backwards to prove that al-Baghdadi is still alive and has been hiding in the desert between Raqqa and Mosul with only two of his bodyguards in a pickup truck, but if US mainstream media, a wholly owned subsidiary of the military / industrial complex says he is alive that's probably the strongest evidence that he is dead.

We must not forget it was US mainstream media that gave saturation coverage to the killing by Navy Seals of Osama bin Laden in 2011 when in fact OBL had been dead since 2005 at the latest. This was confirmed by Pakistani Prime minister Benazir Bhutto in 2007. Speaking to UK TV presenter David Frost, Bhutto states unequivocally that bin Laden died in 2001 as the linked YouTube clip of the interview shows. A few weeks later Bhutto was assassinated.

It is not in Washington’s interests to confirm the deaths of the Islamic State’s top leaders even if it has received credible reports of their demise emerge, because US troops and the allied local militias have mounted offensives against the Islamic State’s strongholds of Mosul in Iraq and Raqqa which have reported caused colossal loss of human lives. It would be grossly embarrassing and destroy what's left of US military credibility to admit that once more Russia has succeeded when American has screwed up.

Conventional munitions and white phosphorous are allegedly being used in large quantities against the residents of both cities, and public opinion is swiftly turning against the ill-conceived intervention in Iraq and the illegitimate US interference in Syria on the pretext of waging a war against terrorism.

According to the Russian and regional media, the US Air Force has been showering Raqqa with white phosphorous, and at the same time, the US has provided a safe exit to jihadists to escape through the “southern corridor” to the oil-rich governorate of Deir al-Zor which has been contested between the Syrian government troops, the Islamic State and the US-backed so-called “moderate” militants (the head amputating, human organ noshing moderates that is.)

Thus it appears that rather than a genuine war to eliminate terrorism, the US-led war in Syria is turning out to be a scramble for territory in order to Balkanize Syria between the Kurds in the north, the Syrian government in the west and the US-backed Sunni Arab militants in the energy-rich east. It does seem however that the Trump administration has abandoned Obama's priority, which was always to oust the Assad regime rather than defeat the terrorists.

Wiki Leak Found Email Linking Obama, Clinton To ISIS

Barack Husssein Obama and Hillary Clinton play the injured innocent when questions about American links with ISIS arise. They adopt a mak of cluelessness when evidence of the USA's involvement in forming a coalition of Islamic extremist groups for the purpose of ousting Assad, pretend the Pentagon and State Department are in control of the middle east situation, and claim that Russia's role has been peripheral and it is American actions that have pushed ISIS back and will defeat them. Obama's crony administration are lazy and also profoundly incompetent. They can't even cover their tracks.

Recently, Donald Trump accused Clinton and Obama of having “founded ISIS.” Though White House and Democratic Party spin doctors dismissed it as a crazy conspiracy theory, Trump’s statement is totally accurate, a leaked memo from the State Department proves.

A month ago, released evidence that Hillary Clinton received classified intelligence stating that Obama was supporting  Al Qaeda in Iraq, the group that changed their name to ISIS. So, Obama is, in effect, the founder of ISIS, and Hillary quickly co-opted herself onto the Bash Bashar Assad team as its vice captain. That was in 2012. Since then the White House proxy war in Syria, aimed at securing regime change to replace Assad with a US / Saudi Arabia friendly puppet government has stumbled from disaster to catastrophe, as first Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and then Russian allies China and Iraq stood by their ally in Syria.

The leaked memo made it abundantly clear that Al Qaeda / ISIS used Muhammad Al Adnani as their spokesman. Guess what, he is now the spokesman for ISIS. Barack Hussein Obama was literally paying them money, as well as supplying arms and military technical support, while the rest of NATO turned a blind eye to alliance member Turkey carrying on an illegal trade in oil with the terrorist group. This is not even close to conspiracy a theory. Incontrovertible evidence shows the leaked memo to be factual.

Obama’s plan for the middle east was to support the terrorist group until they overthrew Syrian dictator Bashar al Assad. It is a measure of The Rent Boy Presidents incompetence and naivete that he thought this would succeed. Toppling dictators and supporting terrorist groups has NEVER worked, but Obama and Hillary continues to believe it will. She was instigator of this war in Syria scheme as she was the prime mover in the Libya regime change which has only succeeded in turning Africa's most advanced and prosperous nation into a dystopian failed state. If you are an American voter please spread that around as much as you can between now and election day.

In an August 2012 “SECRET” classified memo made its way to Hillary Clinton AND Obama.

It has been confirmed that the report was read by Hillary Clinton via the recipient marking “RUEHC/SECSTATE WASHINGTON DC.”

The document is long and some portions are still classified, so we Judicial Watch together certain aspects to show the exact memo Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama saw.

THE GENERAL SITUATION:
A. THE SALAFIST, THE MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD, AND AQI ARE THE MAJOR FORCES DRIVING THE INSURGENCY IN SYRIA.
B. THE WEST, GULF COUNTRIES, AND TURKEY SUPPORT THE OPPOSITION; WHILE RUSSIA, CHINA, AND IRAN SUPPORT THE REGIME.

This report primarily discusses the background of AQI, their methods, capabilities, and that they use the spokesman of the Islamic State of Iraq Muhammad Al Adnani. Clearly there are already signs of bad things, but Hillary and Obama push even harder on this.


The report continues:

AL QAEDA – IRAQ (AQI):
A. AQI IS FAMILIAR WITH SYRIA. AQI TRAINED IN SYRIA AND THEN INFILTRATED INTO IRAQ.
B. AQI SUPPORTED THE SYRIAN OPPOSITION FROM THE BEGINNING, BOTH IDEOLOGICALLY AND THROUGH THE MEDIA. AQI DECLARED ITS OPPOSITION OF ASSAD’S GOVERNMENT BECAUSE IT CONSIDERED IT A SECTARIAN REGIME TARGETING SUNNIS.

The intelligence report from 2012 also predicts that segments of Al Adnani’s AQI group will break off and join ISIS, making them much stronger:

THIS CREATES THE IDEAL ATMOSPHERE FOR AQI TO RETURN TO ITS OLD POCKETS IN MOSUL AND RAMADI, AND WILL PROVIDE A RENEWED MOMENTUM UNDER THE PRESUMPTION OF UNIFYING THE JIHAD AMONG SUNNI IRAQ AND SYRIA, AND THE REST OF THE SUNNIS IN THE ARAB WORLD AGAINST WHAT IT CONSIDERS ONE ENEMY, THE DISSENTERS. ISI COULD ALSO DECLARE AN ISLAMIC STATE THROUGH ITS UNION WITH OTHER TERRORIST ORGANIZATIONS IN IRAQ AND SYRIA, WHICH WILL CREATE GRAVE DANGER IN REGARDS TO UNIFYING IRAQ AND THE PROTECTION OF ITS TERRITORY.

Remember when American Kayla Mueller was taken hostage by ISIS and was kept as a sex slave for ISIS leader Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi? Had Clinton and Obama not been a couple of completely corrupt individuals who hate America, democracy, this atrocity and many others, not only against Americans but also Syrian Christians, Jews and Yazidi, aid workers and jouranlists of various nationalities would not have happened. Obama ad Clinton are therefore accessories to murder. What kind of democracy can the USA be when one of these criminals is looking forward to a lucrative retirement while the other is campaigning to become president of the countty she has betrayed.

Washington's Global Hegemony Dream Is Fading Fast

Donald Trump's claim that Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are somehow responsible for founding” and ISIS had mainstream media getting their collective knickers in a right old twist a few days ago. True to form, the media reaction was to screech in horror at Trump's disrespect for such unimpeachable (at least while Obama is in The White House) characters.

At the time of writing no American media source has brought up in Trump’s defence the August 2012 report (declassified and released in 2015 under a FOIA request from Judicial Watch) from the US Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) stating that “there is the possibility of establishing a declared or undeclared Salafist principality in Eastern Syria, and this is exactly what the supporting powers to the opposition want, in order to isolate the Syrian regime.” 

The “supporting powers” are identified as “western countries” (led  no doubt by the group we usually refer to as The FUKUS axis, France, The United Kingdom and The United States); “the Gulf States” (presumably Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, you can count on Iran not being in the mix), and Turkey.

The Secretary of State at the time that report was published? None other than neo - con warmonger Hillary Rodham Clinton. The President was another neo - con warmonger masquerading as a 'liberal', Barack Hussein Obama.

The DIA report said, in essence, that if the U.S. its allies aided al-Qaeda, the Muslim Brotherhood, and other such 'progressive liberal' friends of democracy and gay rights ( heavy sarcasm alert), something really nasty would emerge in eastern Syria. Several months later, it did, when ISIS declared itself the new Islamic Caliphate, straddling territory on both sides of the Syria-Iraq border.

Most of us learn the concept of causation in childhood. “Johnny, if you keep doing that, you’ll [break it, hurt yourself, whatever].” Not politicians and particularly American Democratic Party politicians it seems, they just do not learn from istakes. Mainstream media would have us think that Obama is a highly intelligent, profoundly wise super - being and Hillary Clinton's "vast experience in politics" (i.e. being married to a political hustler) qualifies them for deification. In fact they  are less intelligent than three-year-olds . By throwing money at terrorists (only the moderate head-amputators and human organ noshers of course,) and supplying them with sophisticated weapons and 'military advivers' to demonstrate how to shoot the things, Obama and Clinon were utterly gobsmacked when the terrorists forgot about deposing Assad who had a well trained and equipped army, and started advancing through Iraq, where a US installed puppet government ruled.



Rudyard Kipling wrote in his poem "The Gods Of Copybook Headings":

As it will be in the future, it was at the birth of Man

 Aside from the example of the chaos Libya resulting from “regime change” in 2011, not to mention the appearance of al-Qaeda in the first place as a precipitate from the Afghan war against the Soviets, they had every reason to heed what amounted to a forewarning from DIA. Instead, they decided to press on, aware of the likely result. This was intended: “ . . . this is exactly what the supporting powers to the opposition want.”

General Michael Flynn, currently a Trump adviser, took over as head of DIA a month before the issuance of the report in question. Whether it was his personal effort to caution the administration or simply the professional analysts in the DIA apparatus laying out the facts as they saw them, the 2012 report made no difference. As Flynn confirmed last year, this was not a matter of the administration’s turning a “blind eye” but of their “willful decision” that led to ISIS.

Certain people and certain businesses stand to profit greatly from war. Cruise missiles cost close to a million and a half dollars each. The air to ground missiles fired by strike aircraft are not exactly ten a penny either. And the defence contractors who make the components and assemble the final product all take a slice of that are all contributors to both the Democratic and Republican parties. And the banks that hold the contractors debts also hold treasury bonds. And if the donations dry up so do the political campaigns. No wonder war is so popular in Washington.

To say the playing field in this election campaign is tilted towards the establishment candidate Hillary Clinton is not simple understatement, it is deception. There is no playing field. In the festering corruption of US politics the establishment candidate is Hillary Clinton and Hillary's opponent, whoever it had been, had the task of climbing a veryical cliff with their hands and feet tied. Donald Trump is giving it a surprisingly good go, perhaps because whatever he may be, he is not a Republican Party appartchik. The real question of the 2016 election cycle however is whether the American public can see this great sham for what it is.

Kerry Demolishes Obama's 'Moderate Rebels' Syria Narrative

Aspen Institute President  Walter Isaacson, in a conversation with US Secretary of State, John Kerry casually revealed that just as Boggart Abroad has told you many times, the 'moderate rebels' in Syria of whom Barack Hussein Obama and other members of his administration are so fond, are every bit as extreme and hostile to western people, culture and values as ISIS.  The conversation, held in front of an audience at the Aspen Ideas Festival held in Colorado on June 28th 2016, was recorded by the US State Department.
What John Kerry said in this conversation effectively demolishes the foundations of US “regime change” policy in Syria and its support of certain Islamic terrorist groups Muslim - loving Obama likes to call “moderate rebels”.

 Many journalists, State Department whistleblowers and independent Syrian businessmen and intellectuals, such as the intellectual who writes under the pen name  Yalla la Barra have explained that the US State Department has run a policy of shielding  “moderate rebel” gangs under the Ahrar al Sham umbrella which creates an impression they are separate from the Al Nusra/Al Qaeda body of terrorism and facilitates designating them a branch of US friendly “opposition” conveniently “intermingled” with Al Nusra thus prohibiting Russian targeting of Al Nusra in case they hit one of the moderates in the process.

“Throughout the two and a half months that have passed since the start of the Cessation of Hostilities (CoH), the State Department has refused to acknowledge that the US backed rebel factions  are fighting in Aleppo and elsewhere alongside Jabhat al-Nusra, Al-Qaeda’s branch in Syria. 


There has not been a single press briefing where the spokesman has not accused Russia and Syria of targeting US backed rebel factions and civilians.

Whether it’s John Kirby or Mark Toner, the spokesman keeps talking about intermingling between the “moderates” and the Al-Qaeda affiliate and that the Russians/Syrians need to be able to separate the two. At the the press briefing of April 25, 2016 Mr Kirby said:

“So again, I go back to what I said before. We want to see the cessation observed by all parties. As I said in my answer to Said, we’re not blind to the fact that it’s a very dynamic situation in Aleppo and that there is intermingling. In July 2015, former US Ambassador to Syria and suspected death squad creator, Robert Ford had this to say about Ahrar al Sham in an article penned by Ford and Ali el Yassir, entitled appropriately, Yes, Talk with Syria’s Ahrar al Sham.
“Moreover, lumping Ahrar and Nusra together is intellectually sloppy, especially when they exhibit ideological and political differences…. Our refusal even to talk with groups like Ahrar further reduces the little influence Americans still have in Syria. As the Assad regime steadily weakens, the administration keeps trying to lead the opposition from behind, hoping for an opposition white knight to appear. Instead, because Islamist groups like Ahrar strongly influence decisions about the fate of Syria, Washington will be left behind.

Ford insisted on dialogue with Ahrar al Sham and attempted to distinguish them from Al Nusra/Al Qaeda, somehow whitewashing their brutality by highlighting their nationalism, a claim that is rather bizarre when we remember how these barbarians posted videos of their member cutting vital organs from the still warm corpses of Assad loyalists and EATING THEM. Few Syrians, if any, actually belong to this guerilla group which is made up predominantly of foreign mercenaries as are 90% of the US, Turkey and Saudi Arabian funded "opposition" to Assad in Syria.

UK educated leader of Ahrar al Sham, Labib Al Nahhas, has even been given columns in TheWashington Post: to sell his terrorist case to Americans.

 In May 2016, Ahrar al Sham massacred scores of Alawite villagers in Al Zara and took others to be sold as slaves.  Claims that the brutal terrorists did not harm anyone who did not resist were cited by Reuters and other western media outlets but witness and survivor statements told a different story. One photo that circulated after this horrifying mass murder showed Ahrar al Sham fighters standing over the dismembered and bloodied corpses of women. And you can bet the women were thoroughly raped and degraded by Obama's allies before they were killed.

Ahrar al Sham made no effort to deny this atrocity, they glibly announced the women had taken up arms and as such were legitimate victims of their bloodlust, a claim seemingly endorsed by dutiful and obedient western media pundits who staunchly stood by their “moderate” killers.

Britain’s report on Muslim Brotherhood contradicts U.S. views on group

As the ceasefire in Syria between the forces loyal to the Assad regime and their Russian and Iranian allies and the free Syrian Army, backed by Turkey, Saudi Arabia and the USA holds rather shakily, leaving the pro - Assad alliance free to concentrate on clobbering ISIS, it appears that not only have the terrorist group shifted their focus to Libya and it's oilfields, a country where, thanks to a misguided western intervention,  there is no coherent government to protect the national assets, and to causing more mayhem on the streets of European and north American cities.

A spate of warning on the imminent threat of more and increasingly bloody attacks on Britain and Europe by Muslim terror group Islamic State have been issued by British government security agencies in the past few days. As well as one from the Police covert anti terror unit, reported here, another, Muslim Brotherhood Review (.pdf from official UK government website) has been featured in the Washington Times (reproduced below under 'fair use' terms for purposes of public information). In stark contrast to the benign view of The Muslim Brotherhood offered by The White House, where the incumbent is known to have strong sympathies with Islamic terrorists and is rumoured to be personally involved with The Muslim Brotherhood, the UK report spells out in very clear terms that the organisation is involved in promoting violence and terror.

Were the conflict between Islam and civilisation confined to Syria or even to the middle east, despite the confusing nature of the multi faceted war, western nations might have a chance of containing it, but if ISIS do intend to attack westerners in their homelands we are looking at a quagmire that can never be drained of slime.

The British government has issued a blistering report on the secretive Muslim Brotherhood, with findings that contradict some favorable U.S. views — including the Obama administration’s — of the Islamic fundamentalist fraternity.

The investigative paper says the Brotherhood promotes (and sometimes takes a role in) violence; seeks world domination of Shariah, or Islamic, law; and views other religions as illegitimate. Its senior leaders “routinely use virulent anti-Semitic language” and have justified the killings of American and other coalition forces in Iraq and Afghanistan.

To this day, Brotherhood leaders say the U.S. government fabricated the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks and that the war on groups such as al Qaeda “is a pretext to attack Muslims,” the British report says.

The report, simply titled the “Muslim Brotherhood Review,” appears to be unprecedented in these politically correct times in that a Western government is confronting a Muslim group that is an ideological organizing force but not overtly a transnational terrorist organization.

British Prime Minister David Cameron said the investigation was conducted to determine whether the Brotherhood is contributing to violence in his country and elsewhere by creating an environment for extremists to act.

“The movement is deliberately opaque and habitually secretive,” Mr. Cameron said.

He said the Brotherhood “promotes values which appear intolerant of equality and freedom of faith and belief.”

Mr. Cameron said the report’s major findings will help his government set policy, such as whether to ban the group altogether in Britain or greatly reduce visas to members wanting to enter the country.

Like France and Belgium, Britain is home to disruptive groups of Muslims. The government recently adopted a plan to combat extremism, and its options include closing mosques and deporting radical clerics.

“The Muslim Brotherhood’s foundational texts call for the progressive moral purification of individuals and Muslim societies and their eventual political unification in a caliphate under Shariah law,” the prime minister said. “To this day, the Muslim Brotherhood characterizes Western societies and liberal Muslims as decadent and immoral.”

The Brotherhood’s English-language website condemned the report Dec. 17, the day Mr. Cameron delivered the findings to Parliament.

Amr Darrag, a member of the executive board of Egypt’s Brotherhood-created Freedom and Justice Party, stated: “The Prime Minister’s statement that membership of, association with, or influence by the Muslim Brotherhood should be considered a possible indicator of extremism unfairly condemns millions of Muslims and non-Muslims across the world, many of whom are British citizens. This is to fundamentally misinterpret the Middle East’s largest democratic organization and misunderstand what is needed to bring democratic, peaceful and stable governance to the Middle East.”

The White House has defended outreach to Brotherhood-linked leaders as part of a broader effort to stem extremism and bring Muslims into mainstream America.

The White House press office did not respond to a query seeking comment.

In September last year, in reporting the spread of Islamic extremism in Africa we reported that thanks to the FUKUS axis (France, UK, USA) taking out Libyan strongman Muammar Gadaffi and turning Libya into a failed state with three rival groups claiming to be the government, Al Qaeda and ISIS had been handed a convenient operations base with no local dictator to oppose them, from which they could infiltrate central and southern Africa. Most vulnerable nations were Chad, Mali, Niger (under attack from the south as well, Boko Haram terrorists make regular incursions into its territory) and Burkina Faso (formerly Upper Volta) which does not have a border with Libya but is a target for extremists anyway , because security in these poor African states.seldom extends far beyond the Presidential palace.

The renewed turmoil in the landlocked country which is Africa’s fourth-largest gold producer and which has been torn by civil conflicts since it gained independence from France in 1960. Coup d'etats in 1966, 1970, 1977 and 1983, with changes of political style from the new regimes each time destabilised the country and obstructed progress.

In October of 2014, President Blaise Compaoré, who had ruled as head of a totalitarian regime since 1990, holding power by suppressing opposition, stepped down after nearly three decades as President. On Thursday, October 30 of that year, Compaoré sought to pass legislation that would have paved the way for a new 5-year term.

Here's how WSJ describes what happened next: "That ambition was thwarted by tens of thousands of his compatriots, who swarmed the streets of the capital Ouagadougou. They set fire to the parliament building where the vote had been scheduled to take place, among other government offices. They tore through hotels and shops seen as pro-regime. Up to 30 people were killed in rioting."

Since then anarchy and chaos have ruled, making Burkina Faso a natural target for the Islamic jihad.

A year later later, an abortive attempt by western powers to establish democratic rule by holding free elections was derailed when General Gilbert Diendere (a former chief military adviser for Compaoré) seized power in a military coup. The move coincided with a government committee's decision to disband the presidential guard, an elite group of Compaoré loyalists.

Shortly after that as a result of widespread civil unrest, Diendere stood down and interim president Michel Kafando who had been arrested arrested during the coup, was returned to power. Two months later, Burkina Faso witnessed its first democratic power change in five-and-a-half decades when the country elected Roch Marc Christian Kabore president.

In all that political betrayal and backstabbing rule of law collapsed and the security situation in Burkina Faso descended into chaos as history repeated itself 'first as tragedy then as farce', as the saying goes. Thus Al Queda were able to cross equally lawless and chaotic Niger and into the capital city of Burkina Faso to lay seige to an hotel. It was the second attack on an hotel used by westerners in a West African capital since November 2015.

Al Qaeda terrorists burned cars to prevent security forces approaching the Hotel Splendid

As Al-Qaeda fighters stormed the "Splendid" Hotel in Ouagadougou nearly two dozen people were killed in the initial assault and three gunmen - members of AQIM or, Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb - took some 126 people hostage. The militants also conducted "operations" at the nearby Restaurant Cappuccino where ten bodies were found in the wake of the violence.

A team led by French Special Operations troops forced their way into the Splendid, shot the gunmen, described by Burkina Faso's security minister as "an Arab and three black Africans, and freed the hostages, 33 of whom were injured.

"Clashes ended after a period of sustained gunfire and explosions that appeared to focus on the Restaurant Cappuccino early on Saturday," a witness told Reuters. "The Splendid Hotel is popular with Westerners and French soldiers based in Burkina Faso." One hostage said the attackers were targeting "white people."

A witness report from Edward Bunker, an American health worker was broadcast by the BBC, Bunker told the news crew

The operation was reportedly held up by a series of booby traps. "What's making our job more difficult is that they've rigged the access to the upper floors," a Burkinabe officer, said on Saturday.

We have warned in The Daily Stirrer and our other sites since 2005 that Al Qaeda cannot be dealt with diplomatically, these people are extremists and fanatics and whatever demands they make that western powers concede, will only result in further and more unacceptable demands. We must draw the line now to stop the advance of Islamic extremism.

Collaboration between Jihadists Groups In North Africa Threatens More Terror Attacks For 2016

A couple of days ago I stumbled across one of the most idiotically self righteous posts I have ever seen. A 'liberal blogger' had written a vicious attack on Americas who support Donald Trump combined with a hymn of praise to Islam as the self styled 'religion of peace'.

The author (I'm not going to give him a link, he does not deserve it) is, like myself, British. Now apart from the fact that British bloggers should not get involved in American election politics because we don't see a true picture of the candidates and don't have a vote in US elections, (and for the record I wouldn't vote for Trump, Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, Ted Cruz or Marco Rubio even if I could,) not only was the writer of the article wrong and uninformed in calling Trump supporters ignorant and fascist, his praise of Islam as the 'religion of peace' rested on an entirely false and anachronistic premise.

He cited in support of his argument the medieval principal that when a traveller turned up at your door seeking shelter, an honourable person would treat the visitor as an honoured guest rather than a supplicant. Where he was wrong lay in his describing this as something exclusive to Islam.

In fact, when the world was only sparsely populated, the virtue of hospitality was common to all early civilisations, the Greeks, European Pagans, the Zoroastrians of Assyria and Persia, Hindus in India, the Celtic and Gothic cultures, throughout north Africa and Asia, the whole of the known world in fact, and for several thousand years before Mohammed created the Muslim religion. So in fact his claim that only the Islamic faith could create such generosity of spirit was wholly false.

Now let's look at a new aspect of the threat to civilised values emanating from 'The Religion Of Peace'.

Although there has traditionally been deadly rivalry among the various jihadist groups operating in North Africa (mostly in the deserts of Libya since the Obama - led humanitarian bombing campaign turned that once prosperous country into a failed state) , new alliances being formed among the different flavours of radical Islam have resulted in collaboration, better organisation and a more coordinated approach to public relations and propaganda. These developments surely carry a warning of more trouble for European and American nations with large Muslim immigrant communities and 'open doors' border control policies. Politicians babble about the war on terror, it's time they realised it is a serious problem, not just a convenient topic for campaign speeches.

According to reports like this one in The New York Times, the growing unity among jihadist factions has led to increased sharing of communications technology and a "sophisticated system of roving trainers to share military tactics, media strategies and ways of transferring money without attracting the attention of the US - UK internet surveillance system."

As long ago as March 2015, Nigerian terrorist group Boko Haram took up the the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL) banner, adopting the name, “Islamic State West Africa Province,” or ISWAP. The title change is more than semantic, it links the radical Islamist forces in Africa and the Middle East.

In October, Nigerian news site Today reported, Boko Haram reached out to the Somali jihadist organization al-Shabaab,urging it to follow suit and switch its loyalty from al-Qaeda to the Islamic State, which part of the group eventually did.

Earlier in the year, ISIS approached al-Shabaab, encouraging leaders of the group to launch attacks “inside Kenya, Tanzania, and Ethiopia.”

Al-Qaeda has been active in Libya since the 1990s, but has not opposed the arrival of Islamic State in the region.

In mid-December, 2015, the government of Saudi Arabia, along with the USA a major sponsor of ISIS, took a break from recreational beheading tournaments to announce the creation of a coalition of 34 countries to wage war against terrorism, with Morocco emerging as regional leader.

Philip Luther, Amnesty International’s Middle East and North Africa director, said the Saudis were using “the guise of counter-terrorism” to quash political dissent, while Amnesty International said it appeared the kingdom was "using execution to settle political scores."

Saudi Arabia’s execution of a prominent Shiite cleric and 46 other men on Saturday January 2, in the name of a crackdown on Islamist terrorism, has been criticized as needlessly provocative. This blog has always maintained that as far as the Obama Administration in Washington and their main middle eastern ally, the Royal House of Saud in Riyhad are concerned, Sunni Muslims can do no wrong while Shia' Alawite, Yazidi and Ahmadiyyas are heretics and terrorists. Given the bloody and brutal conflicts between these sects and their various offshoots, anyone who claims impartial objectivity and then describes 'Islam' as a whole as The Religion Of Peace is not just ill informed, he is uninformed and worse, is not prepared to consider any argument that challenges his prejudices.

Russia's Mid-East Takeover Continues As Afghanistan Requests Military Assistance From Moscow

Throughout the months of September and October a dramatic shift in the global power balance has taken place as the middle east related foreign policy of the United States of America has been exposed as incompetent and dishonest. The outcome is that Vladimir Putin has totally outflanked The Pentagon and now Russia is the major power in the region, while Assad, in spite of Obama's efforts to depose him is still in power in Syria, propped up by support from Russia and Iran with China willing to join the anti - American coalition should things escalate.

The new power structure has produced quick changes, despite the Obama administration announced that the US would not be pulling all of its troops out of Afghanistan by the end of 20i5 as scheduled, the Afghan government is turning to Moscow for protection as Islamic fundamentalist seditionists reconvene their reign of terror.

Under Obama’s original plan, Washington planned to withdraw most of the 10,000 troops still stationed in Afghan territory by the end of next year, leaving a force of just 1,000 'advisers'. Now, all American troops presently stationed there will remain for most of next year and 5,500 troops will remain in 2017.

The change has come about because some senior military officers are concerned about the security situation, following recent territorial gains by the Taliban. It has been predicted that the Taliban, having been given ample time to regroup, are poised to regain power once the American force is withdrawn. According to members of the United Nations peacekeeping force, insurgents now control more territory than at any other time since 2001 (so... "mission accomplished" Uncle Sam?).

The situation in Afghanistan is typical of outcomes which result when world powers decide to intervene in Mid-East affairs. It almost always goes horribly wrong because westerners do not understand the middle eastern mindset, and by the time everyone comes to their senses a decade has gone by and no one can remember why the intervention was undertaken.

The White House contends that this same dynamic will eventually plague Russia’s involvement in Syria and while that’s certainly possible, it’s worth noting that using Hezbollah and Irania Shiite militias to fight the ground war decreases the odds of Moscow getting mired in asymmetric warfare with an enemy they don’t fully understand, and therefore of the enemy simply melting into the civilian population only to re-emerge once the occupying forces withdraw.

As we commented when Obama announced that nearly 10,000 US troops would not in fact be coming home from Afghanistan, the timing of the strategy shift significant, coming just as Russian intervention put ISIS on the backfoot aster US and European efforts to check their advance had failed to achieve anything in over a year. It seems certain the move to keep a US military presence in the Mid-East has something to do with Russia and Iran’s stepped up role in Syria and theiur anticipated push into Iraq. The Pentagon, smarting from being made to look stupid by Obama's mishandling of foreign policy, wants to ensure that at the very least, there are American troops close by.

To be sure, this entire story is riddled with irony and all sides have exhibited a penchant for Einsteinian insantiy.

Russia also got bogged down in Afghanistan in the Soviet-Afghan war of the 1980s during which Washington backed the fighters who would eventually become America's nemesis, al-Qaeda. Now, Washington is allegedly providing support to al-Qaeda affiliated group al-Nusra in Syria, and the Sunni extremists fighting for control of the country have declared a jihad against Moscow. So essentially, this is just a rerun of what happened in the 80s, only this time it’s going on in Syria. Confused? You will be if you try to unravel the mysteries of middle eastern politics.
