Russian forces take another town in Donetsk As Advance Gains Momentum

Russia’s defense ministry this week claims Russian forces made a significant advances on four fronts in the past week, repelling 15 Ukrainian counterattacks and causing significant military losses to the Ukrainian Armed forces occupying the village of Voznesenka in Donetsk, reports Magyar Nemzet citing reports from Hungarian national news agency MTI. 

Moscow claims that in just the last day more than 2,000 Ukrainian soldiers were killed or seriously wounded in this “special operation” zone. This figure cannot be verified and may be nothing more than a tit for tat response to a Ukrainian claim published earlier in the week that over 1700 Russian troops had been killed in a single day's fighting in Kursk.

Vitaly Ganchev, the Moscow appointee who leads Russian occupying forces in Ukraine’s Kharkiv Oblast, told RIA Novosti that Russian forces are digging in on the outskirts of Kupyansk. He says the Russian offensive will continue to the northeast and southeast of the city, so a “quite large” Ukrainian could soon be surrounded. 

Vladimir Rogov, co-chairman of the Integration Coordination Council of the New Regions, is repoted by Russian media to have announced the occupation of 12 square kilometers of territory, stating that the Russian army had “straightened” the front line between Novodorivka and Rivnopil in Zaporizhia Oblast and was pushing further west. 

Among the military targets and equipment destroyed or damaged in Ukraine during the past few days fighting, the Russian Ministry of Defense listed: the infrastructure of several military airports.

In news of Ukraine's insance decision to send an expeditionary force into Russian territory i the Kursk oblast, according to the most independent sources we have access to, the Ukrainian side reportedly lost, among other things, 10 tanks, two infantry fighting vehicles, and 19 other armored fighting vehicles. 

Moscow further claims that since Aug. 6, when Ukrainian forces invaded the region, Ukraine has lost 32,580 soldiers, 212 tanks, 136 infantry fighting vehicles, 112 armored personnel carriers, 1,165 armored fighting vehicles, 940 vehicles, 281 artillery pieces, and 40 serial launchers.

On Thursday, local authorities also reported Ukrainian attacks on the settlements of the Ukrainian territories that came under Russian control and the Russian regions bordering Ukraine.

As usual we appl the caveat that news from both sides involved in this war be treated with sceticism. It is likely that Ukraine's apparently ridiculous claims of combat successes are a reaction to the election of Donald Trump as US President and their fears that his administration will not continue to support and finance the Kiev Banderovite regime in their effort to bring down Putin and Russia's claims in response are nothing more than a gamr of balls - out politics.

Just When You Think We Had Reached Peak Crazy - Man Dressed As Bear Wrecks Rolls Royce In Insurance Scam

 

California has seen its share of insane behaviour and of bears breaking into cars (but usually only to steal picnic baskets, Boo Boo.) But the bears recently caught on camera entering luxury cars tipped off insurers that something wasn’t quite right.

In what has been dubbed “Operation Bear Claw,” the California Insurance Department said four Los Angeles residents were arrested on Wednesday (13 November 2024), ad charged with of defrauding insurance companies out of nearly $142,000 by claiming a bear had caused damage to their luxury vehicles.

The trio are accused of providing video recodings shot in the San Bernardino Mountains in January of a “bear” busy tearing apart the insides of a Rolls-Royce and two Mercedes to the insurance companies as part of their damage claims, the department said. Photos provided by the insurance department show what appeared to be scratches on the seats and doors.

On viewing video of the Rolls-Royce, an assessor for one of the insurance companies suspected that he was looking not at a mischievous bear, but a human in a fancy dress shop bear costume.

A biologist from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, sent by the state Insurance Department to review the three videos, concluded it was “clearly a human in a bear suit,” the insurance department said.

After executing a search warrant, detectives found the bear costume in the main suspects’ home, the department said.

Starmer The Only World Leader At COP29? Who Does He Think He's Kidding?

Two tier free gear Kweir Smarmer is attending the COP29 conference on the climate change crisis this week and mainstream media are trumpeting the claim that he, Starmer is the only world leader among the 66,000 grifters and freeloaders flown on private jets to Azerbaijan (wherever the fuck that is,) to attend this taxpayer funded elitist jolly. What makes those bozos who call themselves journalists think Smarmer is a world leader?

Addressing the conference, the National Socialist British Workers' Party Prime Minister told a 75% empty auditorium, "we will win the Net Zero."

He's right about that, there's nobody else left in it. But what does our virtue signalling ambition to be the first developed nation to totally destroy our economy mean in real terms? 

Smarmer was referring to his government's ambition to decarbonse the electricity system by 2030 .

Even if the government could rewrite the laws of physics and reach its target to decarbonise electricity production entirely by 2030 it still wouldn’t get it close to the new target of cutting overall emissions by a further two thirds by 2035, because electricity generation only currently accounts for 11 per cent of UK territorial emissions.

Just had my calculator out and found that China and India combined emit exactly 52 times as much CO2 as UK (nice coincidence that,) which means we produce as much in a year as they produce in a week. And their output is accelerating a lot faster than ours is being reduced.

In 2023 The UK was responsible for 0.8% of global CO2 emissions from human activity.

We have gained no discernable benefit from this at the cost of destroying our industrial base and sacrificing a significant chunk of our agriculture, as well as exporting millions of well paid jobs to those nations that do not give a tupenny fart about net zero.

My understanding of the plan to shut down all gas fired power stations by 2030 is to have a potential 90GW of wind in total, plus 40GW of solar for 130GW total. But the problem remains that those potential output levels can only be achieved in optimal weather conditions. During weeks like the two immediately prior to the current one (10 to 16 October 2024,) when there have been day long periods when the total installed generation capacity for wind produces an average of 5GW or less, we have a problem. Between 4pm and 8am there will be no solar at all, and minimal amounts even during the day so what will keep the lights on?

Currently we are in the situation of favouring wind power to the extent that media never mention the fact that gas fired power stations have to be kept running, sending their output down to earth, in case of sudden changes in wind speed because distribution grids cannot handle fluctuations in supply. Thus there must be some steady and reliable supply available to kick in should the wind drop sudenly or the sun disappear behind a bank of heavy cloud.

By November 2030, when the net zero zealots have closed all the cas fire power stations, peak demand (4pm or so?) will be well above 50GW, due to the move to heat pumps and EVs, and it will keep on rising. 

This cannot work. Its a recipe for nationwide blackouts with no spinning reserve to restart. Smarmer and his hapless, bacon sandwich regurgitating Energy Secretary, Ed Minibrained can make all the pledges they wish at COP29, but sooner or later reality is going to bite them on the arse as it has the leaders of China, India, USA, France,Germany, Australia, Japan and the rest of the world's major economies.

Drug Gang Leader Avoids Deportation To Nigeria On Human Rights Claim

The leader of a county lines gang who has dealt drugs since he was a teenager avoided deportation to Nigeria when his lawyers claimed it would breach his rights to a family life under the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR).

Having been previously jailed for eight years (out in four?) for supplying drugs, the defendant also successfully argued that he could not be returned to the West African country because it did not have adequate psychiatric care to treat his mental health problems.

The 29-year-old, who has been granted anonymity by the courts, claimed it would be a breach of his Article 3 rights under the ECHR because deportation would be inhuman and degrading by denying him the medical treatment he needed. His claim against deportation was initially rejected by an immigration tribunal amid allegations that some of his claims about his family were “a work of fiction”, but the removal order was overturned on appeal.

The tribunal was told he came to Britain from Nigeria at the age of 10, and remained in the country illegally after overstaying his visa. He was dealing drugs by the age of 15 and was convicted six years later in 2016 of possession with intent to supply both cocaine and heroin.

Despite being handed a suspended jail sentence for that offence, he continued to run an “efficient” drugs line in Farnborough, using “people he could trust, including a young man who was only 17”, according to the court documents.

He and his girlfriend were making up to £5,000 a week from their drugs network, which he “masterminded”, advertising for clients on social media. A police investigation resulted in his conviction and sentencing to eight years in jail in July 2018.

The Home Office sought to deport him on his release on the basis that he was a danger to the public with a “significant number” of criminal convictions and having spent periods in and out of jail. It rejected his claims that his removal to Nigeria would breach his right to a family life and damage his mental health.

The right to family life under the European Human Rights act has been responsible for so much suffering. It was only a few years ago that we learnt it was the main reason for Paistani men raping English girls is because if the girls are repeatedly raped until they become pregnant, the father gets to live in the UK because of his right to family life.

Surely the whole issue is about responsibility and that once these people break the law they should be deported, it being their responsibility for breaking the law. As for the reasons they come up with, anyone with a shred of common sense can see these people are playing the system. As someone said earlier, why should the other people in the country have to suffer from their criminal activities while they evade justice because of their human rights. We must take to the streets and force the government to leave the EHCR or accept thst as Britain is a sovereign nation, British law supersedes anything the virtue signlling ouanquers in Brussels try to impoe on us.

Once again we have been shown that in the yes of the ruling elite a criminal's rights trump those of the general public. This guy will be back on the streets in 4 years trading drugs. Next he'll kill someone and we'll go through the same 'human rights' pantomine again.

Poland Runs Out Of PowerAnd Comes To A Standstill And Electricity Prices Soar As Wind Fails

 

When the dunkelflaute weather phenomenon set in recently in Poland, and a high pressure area covering most of north west Europe stilled the winds, many companies were left without any power. Luckily, no domestic users were affected, but due to the power shortages, power prices jumped by several dozen percent. 

Not all sections of the national community responded to requests from Poland’s transmission system operator (PSE) turned the  generators up to eleven or limited consumption. Germany and Sweden did ultimately come through with exports, as well as Ukraine, which needed to dump some of its excess energy, according to the Polish edition of Business Insider. 

The fact that Ukraine sent electricity to Poland is ironic, as KO MP Paweł Kowal recently told listeners on Radio Zet that Poland has to export “cheap electricity” from its coal-fired power plants minus any Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) costs.

When the wind stopped blowing recently in Poland, many companies were left without any power. Luckily, no households were affected, but due to the power shortages, power prices jumped by several dozen percent. 

Not all entities responded to requests from Poland’s transmission system operator (PSE) for additional capacity or to limit consumption. Germany and Sweden did ultimately come through with exports, as well as Ukraine, which needed to dump some of its excess energy, writes Poland’s Business Insider. 

The fact that Ukraine sent electricity to Poland is ironic, as KO MP Paweł Kowal recently told listeners on Radio Zet that Poland has to sell “cheap electricity” from its coal-fired power plants minus any Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) costs.

Poland has been suffering from low wind since Nov. 5, according to BI, which has resulted in a drop in electricity production from wind turbines to 19.8 GWh, and the day after to 6 GWh. 

The spot price set for electricity for Nov. 6, jumped to as much as PLN 882 per MWh. PSE’s eventual success in getting imports saw the price fall to PLN 543 the following day.

Late October, there had been a similar problem with a drop in wind, but photovoltaics covered the shortfall. Now, as days are getting shorter, there is also less and less energy from the sun at lower elevations.

This is when conventional power plants have to step in, and there are still mainly coal-fired plants in Poland. But the costs of running these currently, due to EU regulations on emissions, make them unprofitable.

“By the start of the 2030s, if we do not manage to extend the life of coal-fired units in any way, and there is a high risk that we will not succeed for technical reasons, regardless of legal solutions, we will need about 12 GW of gas power (…) and we currently have 3 GW of contracted power,” said Grzegorz Onichimowski, president of PSE, at a press conference.

Meanwhile, the recent drop in wind turbine production was not compensated by the launch of the largest gas-fired power plant in Poland. Electricity production from gas has been breaking daily records, but it could not compensate for the losses in wind turbine generation.
