Ukraine SitRep - Russian Airstrike On Dam Endangers Ukrainian Troops - Russians Defeat More Counterattacks

 

Western mainstream media continues to misrepresent US &NATO war propagands from Ukraine as if it is factual news when in fact every snipped of information to come out of Ukraine is distorted to echo the narrative that Ukraine is winning the war and Russia is on its knees militarily and economically. As we have tried to show by reporting whatever verifiable information we could gather, this is a long way from the truth. 

While broadcast and print news organisations continued today to echo the false narrative that Ukrainian troops were continuing their push to drive occupying Russian forces out of southern and eastern Ukraine the big story was only half told.

Ukraine war: Houses flooded after missiles hit major dam (BBC News)

         Russian missiles have hit a reservoir dam near the southern Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih,                     officials         say.

Residents in some areas were told to evacuate, city head Oleksandr Vilkul said, but he added the situation was under control.

Ukraine said the strike was revenge by Russia for its recent counter-attack.

President Volodymyr Zelensky - who was born in the city - described Russia as a "terrorist state" after the attack on the Karachunivske reservoir.

"You are weaklings who fight civilians," Mr Zelensky said in his late night address on Wednesday. "Scoundrels who, having escaped from the battlefield, are trying to do harm from somewhere far away."

This was an apparent reference to Ukraine's recent military successes in a swift counter-offensive in the country's north-eastern Kharkiv region. It has seen Ukraine's army reclaim swathes of occupied territory, forcing Russian troops to retreat.

In his speech, Mr Zelensky said the reservoir had "no military value at all".

Zelenski is a clown by profession we should remind ourselves.

The BBC story failed to mention that the Ingulet river, on which the dam is situated, flows mainly north to south through Kryvyi Rih (Russian spelling: Krivoi Rog, Кривой Рог) to then turn southwest before it  joins the Dnieper.

LiveUAmap placed the bombed dam (yellow circled red bomb at the top) at a dam on a different reservoir northeast of Kryvyi Rih. After comparing pictures in the BBC report with aerial pictures it appears that dam hit is on a larger reservoir west of Kryvyi Rih. This is also consistent with reports of damage to water supplies in the city. It is a matter of public record that the city's water water comes from the larger dam.

The Russian attack had a clear strategic value. It is not a 'terrorist' act as Zelensky says, his country has been waging war on Russian speaking areas of Ukraine since 2014 and Kievs failure to honour the Minsk agreement of 2014 and constants provocation of Russia are responsible for triggering the war. Destruction of water, electricity and transport infrastructure for military purposes are a standard tactic in modern military operations and we did not see western media complaining when these tactics were used in a more heavy handed way in US / NATO led actions in Serbia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya and Syria. Back in Aprilwhen the war was only two months old the Ukrainian side flooded large areas north of Kiev to stop Russian troops from moving towards the city. As the New York Times reported at that time:

All around Demydiv, a village north of Kyiv, residents have been grappling with the aftermath of a severe flood, which under ordinary circumstances would have been yet another misfortune for a people under attack by Russia.

This time, though, it was a tactical victory. The Ukrainians flooded the village intentionally, along with a vast expanse of fields and bogs around it, creating a quagmire that thwarted a Russian tank assault on Kyiv and bought the army precious time to prepare defenses.

The residents of Demydiv paid the price in the rivers of dank green floodwater that engulfed many of their homes. And they couldn’t be more pleased.

After their counterstrike into the Kharkov region, from which Russian forces had withdrawn with only minor losses, the Ukrainian military have fallen into the teap of believing their own propaganda. North of Kharkov the Ukrainian army attacked Russian villages and positions across the border.

Ukrainian troops also attempted to attack Lyman which is protecting the southern side of the remaining Russian positions in the Kharkov oblast. Professional Russian troops have now been moved there to replace Luhansk Peoples Republic's militia which had held the city. They will remove the Ukrainian troops hiding in the forests north of the Siverski Donets river.

The Ukrainians also attempted several smaller counterattacks on Russian positions in the Donbas region. All of those failed.

An expected large Ukrainian attack in the south of the Donbas region towards Mariupol has not yet happened but the Ukrainian side has increased its reconnaissance activities in the area east of Zaporizhzhia.

Does that read as if Russia is 'on its knees' and that total victory is in sight for the Ukrainians (and if you want to believe that is true, just remind yourself that mainstream media have been reporting that a Ukrainian victory was within reach since the first week of the war.

Climate Emergency Not Supported by Data, Say Four Leading Italian Scientists

Four reputable Italian scientists have carried out a major study  of historical climate trends and found that the doom mongering ‘climate emergency’  narrative is not supported by historical data. It is not by a long way the climate catastrophe narrative has been called into question by independent researchers who work does not serve any political agenda.

Reviewing data from around the world and covering a wide range of  extreme weather, the Italian quartet that the climate crisis many quack scientists and media personalities who pass themselves off as experts say we are currently experiencing “is not evident yet”. 

The Italians sat that rather than scaring our children with anxiety about the  climate emergency predicted by scientists whose evidence comes from mathematical modelling, we should allow future generations to face problems such as energy and food security and maintaining personal health health with a more “objective and constructive spirit” and not waste valuable resources on “costly and ineffective solutions”.

During the course of their recent research, the scientists found rainfall intensity and frequency is,nd has been for some time, a static in many parts of the world. Incidence of hurricanes, cyclones and tropical storms shows little change in the long term, and the same is true of U.S. tornadoes. 

Other meteorological categories including floods, droughts and ecosystem productivity showed no “clear positive trend of extreme events”. Significantly, the scientists noted a considerable “greening” of global plant biomass in recent decades caused by higher levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Satellite data show “greening” trends over most of the planet, increasing food yields and pushing back of deserts. Oh dear, little Greta is going to be highly pissed off when she hears about that, but as many of us have been saying throughout the climate scare, more CO2 in the atmosphere can only be a good thing.

The four scientists are all highly qualified and include physics adjunct professor Gianluca Alimonti, agrometeorologist Luigi Mariani and physics professors Franco Prodi and Renato Angelo Ricci. The last two physicists are signatories to the rapidly growing “World Climate Declaration”. This petition states that there is no climate emergency and calls for climate science to be more scientific. It also calls for a freeing from the “naïve belief in immature climate models”. In future, it says, “climate research must give significantly more emphasis to empirical science”.

‘Extreme’ weather events attributed by climate models to humans changing the climate are now the main weapon of the climate alarmist industry, though the modellers offer no evidence to support their claims . As the Daily Sceptic reported on Monday 12 September, TV presenter Sir David Attenborough used a U.K. Met Office model forecast in Frozen Planet II to claim that summer Arctic sea ice could all be gone within 12 years. Sadly Attenborough, 94, has forgottent that he made the same claim in a previous Frozen Planet series screened in 2011 - 12 yet since then polar ice has increased in area and volume. According to a report released this year the U.S.-based National Snow and Ice Data Center, at the end of August, “sea ice extent is likely to remain higher than in recent years”. 

On May 27th, the UK Meteorlogical Office predicted that the 2022 Atlantic hurricane season, which runs from June to November, would “most likely” be above average, with a “likelihood” of 18 named tropical storms including nine hurricanes and four major hurricanes. In fact, the current Atlantic hurricane season has had its slowest start for 30 years. By the end of August no hurricanes had been recorded, and only three named storms produced winds of 74mph or higher. In fact there is plenty of evidence that hurricane and cyclone intensity and frequency has changed little over the recent historical record. “To date, global observations do not show any significant trends in both the number and the energy accumulated by hurricanes,” note the Italian scientists.

Why Did Biden and Boris Johnson Stymie Proposed Ukraine War Negotiated Settlement In April?

Most people in the west are blissfully unaware of how near Russia and Ukraine came to ending the current war back in April of 2022. On March 27, Zelenskyyyyy told the people of Ukraine "Our goal is obvious – peace and the restoration of normal life in our native land as soon as possible."

Though it had barely been mentioned in US, UK and EU mainstream media Ukraine and Russia were prepared to enter into talks about a peace deal, brokered by NATO member Turkey, in fact it has now confirmed that the warring nations had agreed a tentative fifteen-point peace plan to end the month old war as a basis on which negotiations could begin.

Key points were Russia withdraw from all Ukraine except for breakaway Donbas and Crimea. Ukraine would pass on future NATO membership, pledging neutrality between Russia and NATO. Donbas and Crimea would undergo political transition based on self-determination to be recognized by both combatants. Ukraine security would be guaranteed by neighboring countries but no foreign troops would enter Ukraine.

The  proposed settlement was the result of face - to - face talks between Russian and Ukrainian officials in Istanbul at the end of March. Virtual talks resumed after the meeting in Istanbul, but by mid April the two sides had failed to reach a agreement and apparently drifted further apart.

The talks that had looked so promising reportedly failed due to pressure from the West. According to a report from Ukrainska Pravda, (Ukraine's newspaper of record, not to be confused with the Russian Pravda,) on April 9  the then British Prime Minister Boris Johnson arrived in Kiev on an official visit and informed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that he was in no circumstances to negotiate with Russia on any deal not approved in advance by the main NATO powers.

According to the report, Johnson told Zelensky that even if Ukraine was ready to conclude an agreement of ceasefire terms with Moscow, Kyiv’s Western backers were not. The report said that Russia was ready for a meeting between Putin and Zelensky on the potential peace deal, but Johnson’s visit and the messages he delivered made it impossible.

Johnson later told French President Emmanuel Macron in May that he “urged” Ukraine not to negotiate during his visit to Kyiv which appears to confirm the Ukrainska Pravda report. The British leader, who is due to step down in September, visited Kyiv one last time as prime minister in August and again told the Ukrainians not to negotiate with Russia.

So why was NATO (or let's be honest, Washington, because NATO is just a front for American militarism, so desperate to stop the war ending? It's likely that we will never really know, but we can speculate. For weapons makers in the US,UK and france (the old FUKUS axis,), the end of the war would bring to an end a bonanza for the weapons  and military equipment manufacturing industry. The $60 billion in free weaponry sent to Ukraine 's army and irregular fighters by the USA, plus lesser amounts from UK and EU member states is the only reason the neo - Nazi nutters in Kiev have been able to keep their war effort going.

For the political establishments in the west, the end to the new Cold War with Russia to weaken, marginalize, and keep them from economic integration with Europe, where the Russsian experience with communism under the Soviet Union, the re - emergence of Russia as a friendly nation and reliable trading partner would act as a counterweight to the World Economic Forum's push for a global regime based on Cultural Marxism.

Thus on April 9, Uncle Sam sent Boris Johnson, holder of the traditional British Prime Minister's role of White House Stooge, to Kiev, to remind Zelensky of who’s war it really is and who is giving te orders. The UK, Johnson dutifully spouted "was in it for the long run,” would not be party to any Ukraine, Russian agreement since the "collective West" saw a chance to "press" Russia and make the most of it. That is as clear as it could be, Ukraine is the chosen teatre for NATO's proxy war with R|ussia that the USA has wanted for so long.

Two weeks after Johnson's visit stymied the Turkish peace deal, the US sent Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin to Kyiv to reinforce the warning and make clear the US and NATO were in the war not to defend Ukrane against Russian aggression, in fact the Biden Administration and their NATO assets sole aim was to "weaken" Russia. NATO ally Turkey has blamed the US and UK for sabotaging a promising chance to end the war early on.

When it comes to provoking, waging and prolonging pointless and unwinnable wars, the FUKUS axis is always at the forefront of the action. 

Just a few days ago at the time of writing it was reported from Ukraine that Russian artillery had bombarded and disabled electricity and water supplies and transport systems in retaliation for the crushing defeat hey had suffered at the hands of Ukrainian troops in the Kharkov region.

All hell broke loose in western mainstream media on the news of the Ukrainan advance towrds Kharkov. Countless reports and articles celebrated in unison about “the hammer blow that would knock out Putin”, and predicting “the incompetent, ill - equipped and undisciplined Russian army is in trouble”, and even claiming idiotically that total victory for Zelenskyyyyy and Ukraine is within sight. Needless to say the economic war Russia and China are waging on the west (and winning hands down,) is hardly mentioned.

Now I don't claim to have any more insight into what's really happening in Ukraine that any western reporter. Journalists are barred from the front line and thus news organisations are forced to rely on dispatches from military reporters for both sides, neither of which can be believed.

However there are other sources, that are not so skewed towards Ukraine as 99% of UK, European and US news organisations, and my reading of publications based in India, Egypt and Singapore suggests what happened is that Russian forces withdrew from the open territory around Kharkov to the left bank of the Oskol river, a more easily defensible position where the Kharkov-Donetsk-Luhansk line looks solid. The ground retaken but the Ukrainian counter attack is flat, open farmland with a few small settlements, Times of India reported.

It is reasonable to infer with reasonable confidence is Russian troops in Svyatogorsk, Krasny, Liman,Yampol and Belogorovka can hold out against anything the Ukrainian army can throw at them until fresh Russian forces are able to swoop in and force the Ukrainians back beyond the Seversky Donets line.

All hell broke loose in western media about what had happened around Kharkov but in fact very little happened and nothing has changed. Both sides claim the other suffered heavy casualties but after 200 days of false claim and counter claim (which is still going on) nothing should be taken at face value.

Getting back to main topic: 'Why did the FUKUS axis torpedo the negotiated settlement tabled in April 2022?' Because we can and because war is good business for the elites and their corporate conies. Simples.

In the US, California marches on with the blessing of president Biden, preposterous  targets for electric cars without having the faintest idea where the minerals and mining for those batteries will come from. 

Global Crisis of Climate Policy

The Wall Street Journal comments on the Coming Global Crisis of Climate Policy.

A crisis isn't coming, it's already here, and obviously so.

The Federal Reserve, Bank of England and European Central Bank, among others, want to know how global temperature variations a century hence might weigh on Citi’s or Barclays’ or Deutsche Bank’s capital and risk weightings today. The fad is for quantifying, with preposterous faux-precision, the costs of reinsuring flood risks, or fire, or the depressed corporate profits of a dystopian hotter future.

Well, if you seek “climate risk” to financial stability, look around you. It has arrived, although in exactly the opposite manner to what our current crop of eco-financiers predicted. Europe’s plight tells a tale that could become all too familiar in the U.S. soon.

The U.K. may be facing a wave of business bankruptcies exceeding anything witnessed during the post-2008 panic and recession. Some 100,000 firms could be forced into insolvency in coming months, bankruptcy consultancy Red Flag Alert warned this week. These are otherwise healthy firms with at least £1 million in annual revenue. Business failures on this scale would dwarf the roughly 65,000 firms of any size that went under from 2008-10.

Matters are probably worse in Germany, the eurozone’s largest economy. Some 73% of small and medium-sized enterprises in one survey reported feeling heavy pressure from energy prices, and 10% of those say they believe they face “existential” threats to their businesses over the next six months. And that poll, from the small-business association BMD, is the optimistic one. A separate survey published this week by the BDI, a major industry association, found 34% of respondents describing energy prices as an “existential challenge.” Business failures will ripple up and down supply chains and quickly into the banks.

Does anyone know what exactly any of this will mean for the financial system? Of course not. No one has seriously bothered to “stress test” catastrophic increases in energy prices, even though the Bank of England claims to have modeled the economic impact of allowing global temperatures to rise by 3.3 degrees Celsius over the next few decades. By the way, the BOE also predicted the economic impact of the transition to a net-zero-CO2-emissions future would be modest.

Inflationary Madness

Policy decisions by clueless heads of state bow down to Saint Gretta, AOC, and president Biden.

They have put in place an inflationary inferno that central bankers do not know how to stop.

Even more ridiculous, President Biden, Elizabeth Warren and others want the Fed to take on a third mandate and stress test the economic impact of continued rise in temperature.

What needs to be stress tested is the reverse, the inflationary impact of a push for clean energy before battery storage technology exists, grid improvements exist, and whether or not physical metals for all the batteries that will be needed are even available.

A recent preprint study has shed light on why adverse events have been observed following a COVID-19 messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccination.

The study, led by researchers from Thomas Jefferson University, found that the lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) used to transport mRNA in COVID-19 vaccines could “inhibit” and “alter” immune responses in mice.

LNPs are shells of lipids that envelope mRNA to prevent degradation and detection by our body’s immune system.

LNPs are not mRNA, simply an envelope to transport the mRNA cargo.

Both the Pfizer and Moderna mRNA COVID-19 vaccines use LNPs to deliver mRNA spike protein sequences into human cells. Once human cells received the mRNA sequences, the cells will then manufacture spike proteins, triggering an immune response.

It was originally intended that the LNPs discreetly deliver mRNA sequences into the cells to produce spike proteins, and in doing so, form immunity against the COVID-19 virus.

However, many studies in mice have since found that the LNPs, claimed to be non-toxic and safe, are actually highly inflammatory.

These nanoparticles are highly durable and can last for 20 to 30 days in the body. While they persist in the body, it is likely they will continue to activate the immune system, leading to immune exhaustion and non-responsiveness.

The Thomas Jefferson study also shared similar findings. The researchers investigated how LNPs affect the immune system by injecting mice with the same LNPs used in Pfizer’s vaccines, and some mice were even double-dosed.

Inflammation and immune responses in mice are not sure signs that the same will happen in humans. Nonetheless, mice have long been used to test for safety and efficacy in drugs for human use; signs of immune problems are an indication of possible health risks in humans.   ... Continue reading >>>
