Footballer Matt Le Tissier cancelled after doubting Ukraine massacre propaganda

Former Southampton footballer and England international who recently courted controversy by expressing his concerns over the number of professional athletes who were falling ill with heart problems, and dying during competitive events in a few cases, after receiving their full complement of COVID vaccines, has upset the mob again.Le Tissier has resigned from his role as a club ambassador following a series of highly controversial postings referencing the Ukraine conflict on social media.

His former team were already unhappy about Le Tissier’s utterances on the controversial COVID-19 vaccines and felt the former England striker had crossed a line when he appeared to question war reports describing massacres in the town of Bucha, in Ukraine.

Under a picture grabbed from mainstream media purporting to show streets strewn with the bodies of Ukrainian civilians (though the visible shapes could have been anything because the image was so indistinct,) he retweeted a post claiming that the media had lied about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, poison gas attacks in Syria, the genocide of Kurds, Yazidi and Druze in Syria by western back Islamic fundamentalists, Covid and “the Hunter Biden laptop” and then said, “But honestly they are telling the truth about Bucha!”

The post was met by the usual faux outrage from the propaganda - brainwashed 'woke' mob on Twitter and later deleted. Atrocities in Bucha have been reported extensively by numerous propaganda mouthpieces for globalist governments in broadcast and print media from across the world.

Although his resignation was not demanded, it is understood that Southampton have expressing concerns to Le Tissier about his social media postings since he questioned why professional footballers in the UK were 'taking the knee for Black Lives Matter, an openly racist political organisation. Southampton bosses claim all of these things had led to complaints from fans over the 53-year-old’s ongoing suitability for an ambassadorial role. If this is true Southampton must be the only team in England to attract a 'woke' crowd as most teams players were booed by fans for 'taking the knee,' there was widespread anger that during lockdowns, games had to be played behind closed doors.

Le Tissier’s stepped down from his role at the club on Wednesday, then posted a further series of messages on Twitter. “To all the fans of sfc,” Le Tissier tweeted. “I have decided to step aside from my role as an ambassador of SFC. My views are my own and always have been, and it’s important to take this step today to avoid any confusion.

“This does not affect my relationship with and love for my club, and I will always remain a fan and supporter of everything Saints. I can, however, see that due to recent events it’s important to separate the work I believe in from my relationship with the club I have supported and played for most of my life. I will see you all at St Mary’s and will always do anything I can to help the club.”

Le Tissier had also posted on Wednesday that he was anti-war. “I do not advocate anyone taking lives of others and anyone who commits such acts should be dealt with accordingly, any atrocities leave devastating effects on the families of the victims and us all,” he said.

In an interview earlier this year with Telegraph Sport, after losing his job as a Television football pundit, with Sky TV  Le Tissier said  he asked the company whether his sacking had "anything to do with my social media posts". He says that he was initially told that they had to be "concerned about the reputation of our company". Sky says that it was part of wider change to the show and nothing else.

His tweet was about doubting the honesty of the media reporting of Bucha due to the media's evident dishonesty when reporting about WMD in Iraq, Covid and Hunter Biden's laptop. There are plenty of people reading this blog who have called out the media's reporting of those issues.

 Many people believe the Russians are committing war crimes in Ukraine, including in Mariupol and Bucha. But after the media's previous behaviour you can see why so many people are reluctant to take media reporting at face value. That seems to be the point LeTissier was making.The other point that needs to be made is that there is no longer room for diversity of opinion; Le Tissier did not actually say he did not believe it, only that one should not automatically take what is written or broadcast by news organisations as absolute truth. This was something I was taught by my dear old Dad, a newspaper reporter from the 1940s to 1970s.

 It's a shame there is such a high degree of (apparent) conformity to prevailing orthodoxy required these days just to do a job. It was perhaps better in the medieval era when all the Church required was a once a year show at confession and communion and you were then free to get on with living life as you wished. How are we going to know who the loonies are when everyone is pretending to think the same thing in case they get cancelled for being off message.

Reading comment threads on this and other controversial topics these days one has to conclude mainstream news is mostly read or watched by humandroids who believe that if they ever question an official narrative the computer chip that connects them to mission control will be remotely disabled.
I too believe the Russians are committing war crimes in Ukraine. I believe the Ukrainians are too, and have been committing humanitarian crimes since 2014 in the Russian speaking areas to the east of their country.

Russia will do anything to justify its actions in Ukraine, Ukraine will do anything to draw NATO into the conflict this triggering a global and very likely nuclear conflict.
A wise person such as Mr. LeTissier should threat any information coming out of either of these governments with profound scepticism. 

Having said that, Matt is certainly correct about Weapons of Mass Destruction, Covid and Hunter Bidens laptop isn't he? Why should we believe mainstream media when all we've had from them in recent years on any controversial issue is globalist propaganda. He's been cancelled because he had a different point of view to the media and the Woke Liberals and because he has defended his right to free speech.

In last weekend's Hungarian elwction the stunning victoru of Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and his Fidez party, which absolutely crushed the opposition despite a hugely expensive propaganda campain againts the governing part funded by Marxist billionaire and big - time political meddler George Soros and orchestrated by the European Union was a triumph for “Christian democratic, conservative, patriotic politics,” Orbán said in a victory speech. 

There election was free and fair due to Hungarian controls on postal voting and observed counts making difficult the kind of vote rigging seen so often in recent elections, and the people of Hungary gave a decisive blow to the idiocies of the globalist, woke agenda at the ballot box.

LifeSiteNews reported "Pro-life and pro-family Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has won a fourth term as the Central European nation’s leader after his conservative Fidesz Party’s landslide success at the polls was announced Sunday.

58-year old Orbán fought off a six-party coalition aimed at unseating him to take a supermajority in Parliament, with Fidesz now holding 135 of the 199 available seats, just under 68 percent, and the opposition bloc taking just 56 seats.

Orbán, who has presided over Hungary for 12 years and is the European Union’s (EU) longest serving prime minister, will now rule for a further four, despite early polls predicting he would be ousted.

The prime minister was welcomed by a crowd cheering his name Sunday night as polling results showed his success. Addressing his supporters, Orbán said that they ‘have won a great victory – a victory so great you can see it from the moon and certainly from Brussels.’1

‘The entire world can see that our brand of Christian democratic, conservative, patriotic politics has won.’

‘We are sending Europe a message that this is not the past – this is the future, our common European future’. . .

Hungary has also faced fierce opposition from within the EU over social and political issues; the European Parliament voted in March to withdraw funding to the country over its refusal to bow to the bloc’s pro-LGBT stance.

The EU criticized legislation recently enacted in Hungary known as the Child Protection Law, banning the promotion of homosexuality, ‘transgenderism,’ and pornographic materials to minors in schools as well as cracking down on pedophilia.”

Human Events Senior Editor Jack Posobiec guested on Steve Bannon’s War Room on April 4 to discuss Orbán’s stunning 20-point victory on a nationalist, pro-family platform. Posobiec said:

“The referendum passed even bigger than Orbán. . .[the referendum was] all about this sexual identity in the classroom, bringing the trans agenda to children. Steve, they were passing with a majority of 92 to 95% against that. . .You would see similar majorities across the United States [on these issues]. . .

[This is] a turn back to traditionalism, a turn back to sovereignty, a turn back to actual national identity for individual nations and no globalized homogenization. And by the way, Steve, I really have to shout out to, you know, the election workers in Hungary as well, because somehow they were able to count millions and millions of votes in just a couple of hours. . .We’re not waiting two and three weeks, there’s no crazy things going on at 3 am in the morning. . .Maybe we can get some of that here.”

As results came in on Hugary's election night, showing that Fidez was winning  by an even bigger landslide than in the previous three elections, Orbán told supporters that the money Hungarian-borncurrency speculator George Soros had spent funding his opposition was Soros's worst investment ever. 

Soros might regret another investment he made in 1989 a bit more: it was then that his Open Societies foundations awarded a young Orbán a scholarship to Oxford. 

But Soros was not the only one stung by the scale of Oraban's victory. Due to his position as de facto leasder of the EU's renegade Visegrad group, a cohort of former Soviet Bloc nations which relish the security EU gives them but resent the centralised and authoritarian control of political and socialist agendas  imposed on member stated by Brussels, Hungary punches above its weight in the EU's council of ministers. With many other member states not associated with Visegrad also trending politically towards fiscally and socially conservative parties which opposed the move towards woke globalism in Brussels, EU leaders supportive of federalisation and expansion of the Union are panicking.

The EU Commission has announced Tuesday it will launch the so-called rule of law mechanism against Hungary, which links EU funds to whether or not democracy is being upheld. Newly re-elected Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban hailed the "great victory" in Sunday's general election for he and his Fidesz party. Orban had said: "We have won a great victory - a victory so great you can perhaps see it from the moon and certainly from Brussels".

Indeed they most certainly "see it" from Brussels, given that now a mere 48 hours after the landslide win which ensures Orban's fourth consecutive term in office, their sour grapes are being made known swiftly in the following:

The EU Commission will launch the so-called conditionality mechanism against Hungary which links EU funds to the respect of rule of law, commission president Ursula von der Leyen announced on Tuesday in the European Parliament. The commission has been under pressure to trigger the mechanism over concerns of fraud and corruption of EU funds and worries over democratic backsliding. The commission will now send a letter to the Hungarian authorities.

Leaders of the EU Commission in Brussels, and the liberal and progressive establishments in  the most powerful member states as well as the U.S.A. and UK, along with globalist business group The World Economic Forum (WEF) are furious simply because Orbán's message of family and traditional values wins, due in part to his using the tactics globalists they've used for years by appealing to the motions rather than bombarding voters with a barrage of wonkish statistics on economics, immigration, climate change, living costs and crime rates. Instead, Orbán actually delivers the goods policy-wise for his people.

Among the reason why the liberal establishment in the West resent  and despises Orbán so much is because Hungary's apparent prosperity under his leadership highlights the decline of the quality of life in their own countries. An anonymous tweet on Sunday succinctly expressed the reason for Orban's popularity in Hungary:

"The juxtaposition between that sort of criminal chaos in America and all the concern expressed by American journalists about Hungarian election integrity seemed jarring to me, particularly when George Soros, who funded Orbán's opponents in Hungary's elections, also funded soft-on-crime prosecutors in America."

Another pseudonymous poster on Twitter put it well: 

"Liberal democracies can no longer point to clean, safe streets or a thriving middle class as evidence of their virtues. All they can offer is endless moral judgements stemming from an endlessly shifting ethical framework."

True, and when those moral judgements are passed because somebody misgendered a transexual, expressed doubts about the efficacy of COVID vaccines or questioned the pro - Ukrainian propaganda that has been passed off by mainstream media as factual reporting during the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, is it any wonder people shy of expressing their thoughts and feeling for fear of attracting the attention of far - left hate mobs, are quietly turning to more nationalistic and conservative parties?

Net Zero Gone With The Wind - Boris Johnson Plans Seven New Nuclear Plants And Shelves Wind Expansion

 

While the UK is not as hard hit as other European nations by the energy crisis caused because economic sanctions on Russia are disrupting imports of Russian natural gas, we have a crisis of our own making thanks to policies implemented by the current and past governments to make us reliant on wind power to generste our baseload energy needs. As the final few coal fired power stations have been mothballed or decommissioned the rocketing price of gas and oil has made North Sea gas fields, that had become uneconomical in an era of cheap energy imports, viable again.

But this is a short term solution. Looking ahead, Britains plans for assuring futre energy stability as as chaotic and disjointed as ever.

Reports in mainstream media suggest Boris Johnson has done a U turn on his recently announced massive expansion of wind powered generating capacity. Sources in Westminster claim Boris has shelved his masterplan for a giant, floating wind farm in The North Sea and the government will reconsider plans to double or even treble the number of wind turbines in the countryside and approve plans for up to seven new nuclear reactors instead.

The Prime Minister is said to have thrown out a plan presented by Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng to double the UK's onshore output to 30GW by 2030.(It should be noted here that 30GW is the notional output from operational or planned wind farms, in fact wind turbines rarely manage to produce more than 20% of the claimed potential output.

Fortunately for British voters, Tory opposition in the party's shire England heartlands to a government of their own party, and from ministers within Johnson's Cabinet to the expansion of expensive, inefficient and unreliable wind turbines means that new atomic power sites in rural areas are likely to be the way forward for  the UK's electricity industry.

The decommissioned nuclear power station at Wylfa, on Anglesey, has been suggested as a possible location for the first of a series of small reactor plants. 

Johnson is expected to finally unveil his government's long delayed energy strategy document on Thursday, and it is expected to contain no firm targets for expansion of onshore wind expansion. But it is expected to lift a moratorium in place since 2015 to allow them to be built were there is local support (local support for wind farms being as rare as hen's teeth or rocking horse shit.

The change in the government's thinking on wind and nuclear apparently came after Transport Secretary Grant Shapps publicly voiced his opposition to new wind farms in favour of new nuclear sites.

Western Sanctions on Russia Causing a Global Food Crisis - The Beginnings Are Already With Us

The dominant topic in print and broadcast news at the moment is the roceting price of fuel and essential foods. This cost of living crisis (because it has in the past few weeks become a crisis,) was already forming late last year. The failure of green energy policies and environmentalist virtue signalling by governments had already seen national energy grids struggling to maintain energy supply as 'sustainable' sources such as wind and solar proved they cannot sustain the steady output a large population in a technologically advanced country depends on. Governments faced with a choice of explaining blackouts to voters or angering the green lobby by cranking up the output from gas fired power stations and recomissioning coal fired generators, chose fossil fuels.

But now, as if the energy crisis was not enough for us to contend with  there is another major concern for us long suffering taxpayers as the food proce inflation predicted by this blog since day one of the Ukrainian conflict is starting to bite.

Both Ukraine and Russia happen to be leading exporters of agricultural products to North African and Middle Eastern nations while Europe also obtains a significant slice of its wheat, corn and edible oils from the countries involved in the war. 

The countries hardest hit in the near term will be in the middle east and North Africa. Many of these nations already face internal conflicts and have populations struggling to put food on their tables. In 2020,  80% of the wheat Lebanon imported came from Ukraine and the final figure for 2021 will be similar. Egypt, with close to 100 million population remains the world’s largest wheat importer, which places this North African country in a very delicate position because about 50 percent of its imports come from the Russian Federation, while another 30 percent come from Ukraine. Libya imports 40% of its wheat from Kiev, and Yemen gets around one third of its wheat from Ukraine, while 8% comes from Russia.

Looking further ahead, the effect will be global. 45% of Ukrainian exports are agricultural-related. It is a leading exporter of poultry, wheat, barley, and corn, and much of its wheat comes from the disputed territory in Eastern Ukrainian where most of the heavy conflict is going on. In fact, the Black Sea area – affected by the current military operations – exports over 12 percent of the food traded globally.

It gets worse. On March 9 this year, Kiev banned exports of grains and many other food items in order to prevent domestic food shortages because of the war, thus disrupting supply chains. This is quite alarming because the planting season is to start this month. The Russian Federation is the largest wheat supplier worldwide and one of the main producers of fertilizers but because of economic sanctions imposed by the west Russia can no longer supply western needs as its banks have been frozen out of the SWIFT international payments system so Russian exporters cannot be paid by customers in the west.

The worst consequence, though it has hardly been mentioned in mainstream media, is that this crude attempt to hamstring the Russian economy has provoked Moscow into banning fertilizer exports as a response to the heavy economic sanctions imposed on the country. In Latin America, for example, Brazil imports 95% of its nitrogen fertilizers, Moscow being its leading supplier (21% of the amount imported by Brazil comes from there). Brazilian harvests have been much damaged by droughts since 2020. In any case, the increase in fuel prices in itself affects food transport costs, thereby affecting agricultural production cost worldwide.

There is a global energy shortage crisis today, which is caused in part by green lunacy as mentioned in the opening paragraph and partly by government responses around the world in response to a virus with a 0.2% fatality rate, and is now being exacerbated by the global supply chain crisis caused by unnecessary sanctions on Russia. The ruling elites have shot their own countries in the foot, everything western political and business leaders have done in their quest for global hegemony has made life more difficult for the people these power drunk clowns are meant to serve.

 Iran has made a mockery of US sactions shipping fuel to countries such as Lebanon, Syria, and Venezuela, as part of its oil diplomacy as well as selling vast amounts of oil to China which uses lots of fossil fuel in manufacturing the cheap goods we in the ewest are so addicted to. Western Europe, in its turn, had already been facing its own energy crisis since the end of last summer as green wokery, pandemic related disruptions and dependence on Russian gas combined to create a perfect storm for consumers. It alol adds up to a potential global catastrophe.
 

By fuelling the Ukrainian-Russian conflict, which is a delayed result of the 2014 coup endineered by the USA, NATO and the EU, which replaced a democratically elected government with the current far right Russophobes, by encouraging its puppet regime in Kiev to provoke Russia by attacking ethnic Russian minorities in Ukraine and by sanctioning Moscow, the West is in fact punishing itself, but the truth goes beyond that: it is punishing the entire world in a futile bid to overthrow Putin and effect regime change in Moscow. This only shows that the foreign policy experts of the main western governments do not understand anything about Russia, its history or culture.

 The only way to get out of this mess before it escalates is through dialogue with Moscow. Is this likely to happen? the Western Political Establishment rather than seeking dialogue with the Kremlin,have  been trying to turn Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky into a kind of pop - star politician, spokesperson for the free world and cheerleasder for the nuclear war with Russia that demented Joe Biden and his White House team appear to be intent on starting. 

Joe Biden’s visit to Poland also only added fuel to the fire and Boris Johnson's belligerent bluster about standing up to Russian bullying made things even worse. To sum it up, Western leaders have been irresponsible in failing to pursue diplomatic solutions and instead guaranteeing that Russia will become more intransigent over its demands in any negotiations. A cease-fire must be negotiated, but for that to happen Ukraine and the West must make concessions rather than making threats they cannot back up. As things stand, World War Three is being fought on the economic from and Russia is winning.

That Didn't Take Long: European nations start RATIONING food and fuel

While mainstream media were dutifully broadcasting and printing versions of the official narrative throughout last week as they have since Russia invaded Ukraine, that the forces of little Ukraine were bravely resisting the onslaught of big bad Russia and actually pushing the invaders back to their own territory, this blog has been focused throughout the crisis on the economic consequences for the west, and the far bigger issue of what will happen in the developed nations once economic sanctions cut off supplies of essential raw materials American, Europe and the rest of the G19 group are dependent on Russia for.

It has not taken long for us to be proved right (as usual). Our argument that Ukraine was just a sideshow to the real war which is being fought in the stock and currency exchanges and commodity markets of the world's financial centres is already visibly right as pictures of empty supermarket shelves are being published by news media and posted by contributors to social media.

Countries around the world, especially in Europe where Germany and Austria are leading the way, have started rationing food and fuel.

Europe’s food and fuel crisis was already in progress before EU member states imposed economic sanctions on Russia in compliance with the diktat of America's Biden administration. This threatened the flow of already-critical commodities in Europe and threatened to collapse global supply chains still suffering disruption due to the chaotic and ineffective measures imposed in response to the hoax pandemic.

As a result of these acts of gross incompetence the prices of everything from oil to wheat began to climb in the second half of 2021, soaring to unimaginable levels since the Ukraine situation blew up, leading to the highest inflation rates for decades. Supplies of essential products such as oil, natural  gas, wheat, edible oils and fertiliser have also dwindled after exports from Russia were completely strangled. And while the west suffers from its own sanctions, Russia has found a very simple workaround and is still selling its products to nations that account for two thirds of the world's population.

Sunflower oil, wheat, dairy products and gas for power generation and fuel for business and domestic needs are being rationed

Spain appears to have been the first country to experience serious shortages of different products like eggs, milk and other dairy products almost immediately following the outbreak of the war in Ukraine. In early March, major supermarkets like Mercadona and Makro began rationing sunflower oil.

Spain’s government, a shaky coalition of centre left, centre right and far left parties cobbled together by Brussels to keep anti - EU parties such as Poemos away from government, gave stores the option to temporarily impose limits on the number of certain products customers purchase.

In Greece, at least four national supermarket chains have started rationing food products like flour and sunflower oil due to critically low supplies caused by the crippled supply chains coming out of Russia and Ukraine.

The supermarkets claim the current rationing is only a preventive measure that will be rolled back once Greece’s supplies of flour and sunflower oil stabilize the government states. Around 30 percent of Greece’s wheat imports come from Russia and Ukraine so it seems supplies are not likely to stabilise any time soon.

The German government triggered the first part of a three-stage emergency plan to conserve the country’s natural gas supply last week. This move came after Russian President Vladimir Putin demanded that Germany pay for Russian gas in roubles thus turning Western sanctions against the nations that imposed them.

German Vice-Chancellor and Minister for Economic Affairs Robert Habeck explained that the current rationing plan is a preventive measure implemented to make sure the country doesn’t experience a critical shortage. Habeck is talking bollocks, if Russia decides to shut down the pipeline Germany, thanks to Green idiocy and loonytoons 'net zero' energy policies, will be plunged into chaos.

Britain and the USA, having their own energy resources now that sky high costs of the resources that are available to import make it economically viable to start up parts of the North Sea and Texas oil and gas fields that had been mothballed because cheap imports made them uneconomic, are so far less hard hit. But supply problems have only just begun, Russia supplies two thirds of the world's Ammonium Nitrate, the active ingredient in commercial fertiliser, so when crop yields fall in those nations that can still supply us, food shortages must follow.

Whatever is happening on the ground in Ukraine, and it is wise to be profoundly skeptical of the propaganda from both sides, those of us with access to the news feeds the markets get information from know the only certainty is that while stupid, arrogant western leaders have been obsessed with presentation, Russia has out - manouvred them economically to such an extent that the war could well bring about the collapse of the US dollar and with it the global financial network.

Britain can’t cut off domestic gas without other reliable energy sources

Will Commodities Be The New Reserve Currency As The Death Knell Of The Dollar Sounds?

 

Many respected economists and market analysts who favour the free markets approach concur that the world is heading into a new monetary order – what Zoltan Poszar of Credit Susse has called Bretton Woods III. Ignoring the bollocks being spouted by Klaus Schwab with his Great Reset and Joe (Dementiaman) Biden and his Build Back Better, we are heading towards a new economic reality that will see the collapse of the US$ as the default reserve currency, to be replaced not by any other fiat currency such as the Euro or the Renminbi, but by a system in which  commodities are the primary denominator of value. Should this turn out to be the case we can expect an acceleration of the shift in geopolitical power from west to East.

“When this crisis (and war) is over, the U.S. dollar should be much weaker and, on the flipside, the renminbi much stronger, backed by a basket of commodities,” said Pozsar in his dispatch on March 7.

For politicians and business leaders this will cause huge and complicated problems as the follies of their virtue signalling green agendas and net zero energy policies are exposed. For us ordinary punters it will mean a rough ride ahead:

• inflation will stay high, destroying the value of savings and pension funds.
• interest rates on our borrowings will be higher, rates on our savings will stay low
  
• Costs of food and consumer goods as well as energy products will be higher putting luxury goods beyond the reach of many people
  
• Unemployment may fall as manufacturing industry is repatriated.
  
• Virtue signalling policies such as the EU's paying farmers to let agricultural land return to nature (rewilding) will be abandoned as importing basic foods becomes too expensive
  

Due to the effects of  rising commodity prices and the political instability resulting from the Russia-Ukraine war is starting to change  our relationship with money from how we know it.

Currently the values of  all major currencies are defined by nominal values in relation to the US$, agreed and regulated by institutions such as the Central Banks. In future the real values of the commodities must be a factor in determining values. Commenting on the Biden Administration's bid to freeze Russia out of world markets by expelling Russian banks from the SWIFT international payments system, Vyacheslav Volodin, the speaker of the lower house of the Russian parliament, as reported by the BBC this week, told the world: “If you want gas, find roubles.”

 The Kremlin followed up with a bombshell that has hardly been mentioned by mainstream media:

The Kremlin also said Russia could start demanding payment in roubles for other commodities such as fertiliser, grain, metals and timber.

This means that Russia isn’t merely demanding rubles for gas and oil exports; it’s also going to demand rubles for commodities.

The ruble requirement begins today (1 April,) and will be rolled out across existing contracts over the next several weeks and months, according to the Russian finance ministry. Many European nations, notably Germany, depend on Russian gas to power their cities, nomes, offices and factories. The day that the gas tap is turned off is the day that Germany’s economy collapses and the nation is pluncged into chaos, suffering irreversible economic damage due to mass bankruptcies of German-based businesses.

European leaders have insisted they will refuse to pay for Russian energy exports with rubles. Such threats will be exposed as empty bluster the moment the lights go out and the machines stop working because the gas that fuels the power stations has stopped flowing.  The exclusion of of Russia from financial systems means Russia is largely unable to use dollars or euros. So there’s no point in Russia trading gas for fiat currencies that it can’t use and doesn’t want. So long as the West’s sanctions remain in place, if Russia were to sell gas for dollars or euros, that would be the equivalent of giving away its natural resources for free.

It is worth noting that the rouble has already fullly recovered from its plunge in currency markets immediately following the imposition of economic sanctions by the West. While the corporate media was initially claiming Russia’s currency would collapse within days, as this blog predicted the opposite has happened. Russia’s currency is actually climbing steadily in value while the dollar, the euro and the yen are all losing value at a shocking rate.

So why should The Kremlin not simply order pipeline operators to turn off taps on the pipelines to Europe and sell to China, India, Pakistan, Bangla Desh, Indonesia, Viet Nam and Philippines (about half the world's population between them.)

It is already happening “Germany and Austria have taken the first steps towards gas rationing,” the BBC reported this week. Austria relies on Russia for 80% of its natural gas. Germany simply has to find Roubles.

And no country is going to give away energy for free. Especially not to a group of “unfriendly” nations that unleashed economic warfare against you in the first place.

Rouble recovrs and gains as western leadsers shoot their own currencies in the foot

The ruble has already achieved a full recovery from its initial plunge following the economic sanctions put in place by the West. While the corporate media was initially claiming Russia’s currency would collapse within days, quite the opposite has happened. Russia’s currency is actually climbing steadily in value while the dollar, the euro and the yen are all losing value at a shocking rate.

In terms of real purchasing power in America, the dollar is actually losing an astonishing 2% per month. If you have dollars in a bank account, you are effectively earning negative 2% interest every month in terms of the loss of its actual value. To make matters even worse, Biden has proposed a $5.8 trillion federal spending spree for 2023, meaning the government will be spending nearly $1 trillion every other month. And that doesn’t count the bailout money that’s coming in 2023, which will likely reach several trillion dollars all on its own. We aren’t far from the US central bank printing a trillion dollars a month.

Putin, on the other hand, made a tactically brilliant move in demanding payment in rubles because that will drive demand for rubles for years to come. The petro dollar is now giving way to the hydrocarbon ruble. Since Russia sits on about 30% of all known natural resources in the world, tying the ruble to those natural resources instantly makes the ruble a store of value, especially given that every nation in the world needs energy, grains, minerals, timber and other resources that will be linked to the ruble.

Nobody needs dollars, really, since dollars are a failing fiat currency that’s being devalued by the day. It’s sort of like investing in an athlete who just jumped out of an airplane without a parachute. What people need are things like food, heating fuel, electricity, oil and so on. This is what Russia’s exports provide. This is what’s backing Russia’s new vision for the ruble.

 

“Central banks have it easy when it comes to policing the prices of money in the nominal domain, but not when it comes to policing prices in the real domain of commodities, especially when pressures come not from demand, but supply,” he added.

In a case where commodities will pretty much dictate the new world monetary order, factors like the geopolitical standing of the commodities supplier in the international community, the real added cost on foreign cargo given the shift in trade partners, and the protection of the safety of shipping these commodities must be considered.

“The point we make is that for price stability, we need structural stability in both the nominal and in the real domains–deflation (structural) happens when demand cannot be funded, and, contrarily, inflation (structural) happens when supply is disrupted by war and other events.”

Foreign cargo

On foreign cargo, the world is suddenly seeing commodity-supplying nations making demands on paying for the exports in their respective currencies: Russia demands its exports are paid in rubles and Saudi Arabia has expressed openness to paying for Chinese exports in renminbi.

“It used to be as simple as ‘our currency, your problem’. Now it’s ‘our commodity, your problem’,” as Pozsar puts it.

And in a situation like this, supplier nations get to supersede the monetary world order. “According to estimates by the US Department of Agriculture, China holds half of the world’s wheat reserves and 70% of its corn. In contrast, the U.S. controls only 6% and 12% of the global wheat and corn reserves,” said Pozsar.

He also added that “energy and commodities are needed for virtually everything,” and as the leading energy exporter, Russia virtually “exports everything.”

Shipping

While Europe and other energy-importing nations are working on cutting off their dependency on Russia, the country is bound to look for customers in the East–primarily China–through less-efficient routes. This leads to a domino effect where China would import fewer resources from a much closer Middle East, and Europe looking into sourcing its energy imports from other producers with no established efficient routes. Essentially, this is why Pozsar believes the added cost of shipping would factor in the price of money.

“Consider that as cheap Russian oil gets diverted to China, China will buy less oil from the Middle East and then Middle Eastern oil will now have to be shipped to Europe with the same loss of efficiency as the shipment of Baltic oil to China,” he said.

Pozsar painted a picture of the possible scenarios coming off from these new trade routes, essentially concluding that shipments might take four months instead of around a week. He also laid out how the current trade routes and shipping vessel capacities would provide for a much harder import-export synergy in the new geopolitical realliances–which again, would cost more.

“Russia exports every major commodity imaginable, and the same problems will show up in other products and also with ships that move dry, as opposed to wet cargo. It will be a big mess,” explained Pozsar.

Protection

With the price of money heavily tied to commodities, its protection and security are expected to influence the new world monetary order.

Pozsar explained that while “currency, deposits, and money fund shares are interchangeable always at par,” the value of commodities is at the mercy of its security and consistency of shipment. Factors that might affect this include power shift (and price control) in favor of route regulators and bottlenecks in sea routes caused by external factors.

“More expensive ships. More expensive cargo. More expensive transit fees. Much longer transit routes. More risks of piracy. More to pay for insurance. More price-volatile cargo. More margin calls. More need for term bank credit,” he relayed.

The triangle of a new world order

Citing Ray Dalio’s stagflation view, Pozsar said that “the price signals from the four pillars of commodity trading will dominate the signals coming from the four prices of money.”

Arising from the ashes of the current geopolitical conflict, commodities-driven monetary world order would replace the current one, as Pozsar puts it.

“Commodity reserves will be an essential part of Bretton Woods III, and historically wars are won by those who have more food and energy supplies,” he added. In the new world order, banks would create eurorenminbi mainly to accumulate for buying Chinese Treasuries, outside money like gold (instead of G7 inside money), and commodity reserves instead of foreign currency reserves.

With the new approach to understanding the monetary order, financial and price stability may be achieved over time–but not without taking hits on inflation and interest rates.

“The new trinity of Bretton Woods III will be about ‘our commodity, your problem’– the EU’s inflation problem for sure, if not the inflation problem of the entire G7,” Pozsar ended.

Just when you thought the skink had gone away another bunch of Exstinktion Rebellion crusties pop up with a new plan to annoy everybody while achieving the exact opposit of what they intended. Loony left green activists today blockaded seven key oil terminals and depots in Britain on the very  day that energy costs are  being hiked by 54 per cent.

Just Stop Oil, one of a number of extremist anti-civilisation groups linked to Marxist political parties in the United Kingdom  blocked Inter Terminals UK, Navigator Terminals Thames, Esso Birmingham, Purfleet Fuels Terminal, Kingsbury Oil Terminal, the BP Depot in Tamworth, and the Buncefield Oil Depot in Hemel Hempstead, according to BBC news reports.

Other news reports revealed that the better-known Exstinktion Rebellion (XR) group of upper middle class crusties, who shut down swathes of the British capital of London several times last year claims it has blockaded a further three sites “of strategic importance to the UK’s energy network”, namely Esso West, near Heathrow Airport, and Esso Hythe and BP Hamble, both near Southampton.

Among the Just Stop Oil group's loonytoons demands is an immediated end to the government’s genocidal policy of expanding UK oil and gas production. The group is calling on all those outraged at the prospect of climate collapse and apparently immune to the cost-of-living crisis and hypothermia to stand with us.” Just Stop Oil declared in a statement that it will continue to disrupt life until its demands are met,  although Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s government has not actually ordered the opening new oil and gas fields or given clearance for fracking for shale gas and is not likely to do so, given its leftist climate policies.

“Ordinary people can no longer afford oil and gas, it’s time to just stop oil,” the attention seeking wankers added — failing to explain how abruptly removing oil from the energy mix could do anything other than increase prices massively and cause untold misery to millions of families..
