“Science” no longer trustworthy: BMJ suggests threating all health research as fraudulent until proven genuine

 Former The British Medical Journal (BMJ) editor Richard Smith penned an opinion piece for the journal suggesting that health research has become so corrupted and untrustworthy that people should just assume it is fraudulent and false until proven otherwise.

Entitled “Time to assume that health research is fraudulent until proven otherwise?” Smith’s article reveals how research fraud is a systemic problem that dates back decades – and is only getting worse.

Smith cites Ben Mol, a professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Monash Health, who says that at least 20 percent of the time, reviewers and editors of journals are wrong in assuming that the results of a given trial are honestly reported.

“As I’ve been concerned about research fraud for 40 years, I wasn’t that surprised as many would be by this figure, but it led me to think that the time may have come to stop assuming that research actually happened and is honestly reported, and assume that the research is fraudulent until there is some evidence to support it having happened and been honestly reported,” Smith contends.

In many cases, trials that are reported to journals never actually happened in the first place. Someone just made the whole thing up to push a new pharmaceutical drug or medical device, for instance. Systematic reviews are about as trustworthy as a pile of “rubbish”

Ian Roberts, a professor of epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, learned this the hard way recently after a colleague of his notified him that the trials referenced in his systematic review of mannitol as a treatment for head injury never took place.

Roberts was unaware of this possibility before being told about it, but following an investigation he confirmed that the trials were, in fact, fake. The alleged lead author hails from an institution that does not even exist.

“The trials were all published in prestigious neurosurgery journals and had multiple co-authors,” Smith explains. “None of the co-authors had contributed patients to the trials, and some didn’t know that they were co-authors until after the trials were published.”

Roberts was involved in another systematic review of colloids versus crystalloids that once again included fake trials that never actually took place. Now, Roberts is skeptical of all systematic reviews, and especially those that involve multiple small trials.

“… now he thinks of systematic reviewing as searching through Rubbish,” Smith says. “He proposed that small, single centre trials should be discarded, not combined in systematic reviews.”

Mol also conducted his own investigation and found that most trials included in systematic reviews are either fatally flawed “zombie” trials or they never existed in the first place.

“We have long known that peer review is ineffective at detecting fraud, especially if the reviewers start, as most have until now, by assuming that the research is honestly reported,” Smith further writes.

“I remember being part of a panel in the 1990s investigating one of Britain’s most outrageous cases of fraud, when the statistical reviewer of the study told us that he had found multiple problems with the study and only hoped that it was better done than it was reported. We asked if had ever considered that the study might be fraudulent, and he told us that he hadn’t.”

Smith contends that whenever doing systematic reviews, reviewers must automatically assume that a study is fraudulent until they can find evidence, if it exists, to suggest legitimacy. Only then will systematic reviews be anything other than a pile of rubbish.

Soaring Lithium Prices Putting Transition To Electric Cars In Doubt

With battery quality Lithium Carbonate regularly trading at above $US70,000 per ton ($73,300 today) a 500% increase over the 2018 price the impact  of this soaring cost of the main essential material in batteries for electric vehicles  is starting to impact the push to abandon fossil fuels and force us all into electric vehicles as petroleum powered engines are progressively banned by law.

 Worse still for makers of electric vehicles and virtue signalling politicians, analysts are predicting lithium price levels will continue to rise as demand for electric cars and goods vehicles grows. This does not suggest the relief the struggling motor industry so desperately needs ins on the way.

A report inThe Epoch Times, contains more bad news for the green blob, while increased domestic lithium production plays a crucial role in the green energy plans of Joe Biden's US administration, the UK government of outgoing Prime Minister Boris Johnson, the Commission of the European Union, and other developed nations that have allowed energy policy to be defined by Pippi Longstocking lookalike Greta Thunberg and the loonytoons science of the climate change scaremongers, lithium mining has quietly revealed itself to be a significant contributor to environmental pollution in the frantic rush to abandon fossil fuels.

America's Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm said Biden’s historic investment in electric battery production and recycling would give the United States “the jolt it needs to become more secure and less reliant on other nations,” in a May 2 press release. But is lithum the answer? Some environmentalists believe that when it comes to lithium extraction, the end doesn’t justify the means.

“Our position is: mining is very destructive to the environment and communities. It needs to be approached judiciously,” John Hadder, director of Great Basin Resource Watch, told The Epoch Times.

In November 2021, United Nations  Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, mining, drilling, and burning during a world leader’s summit on climate change remarked, “We’re digging our own graves”.

“While lithium-ion batteries are light-weight and convenient for modern-day electronics, they not only emit a large amount of carbon dioxide to produce, but they also tap into precious water reserves,” chief operating officer of Greenly, Matthieu Vegreville, told The Epoch Times.

At the other end of the lithium debate are the spent electric batteries and the problems in disposing of them. Rumour has it that worn out Li - Ion batteries can be fully recycled, this is simply not true. Some materials in the batteries can be recovered and reused but no method has yet been developed for separating the the electrolytes so that the lithium can be reused. Thus a lot of spent Li - Ion batteries are being dumped. Improperly disposed lithium batteries can be extremely dangerous, lithium is a higly unstable material and is known to have caused landfill fires that can go on for years. The resultant toxic chemicals released into the air can also impact air quality and cause poisoning if inhaled by people or animals.

Also Lithium fires cannot be put out by throwing water on then as a wood or coal fire can, not by depriving them of oxygen by dousing them with san or carbon dioxide. When Lithium ignites it is due to an atomic reaction. Firefightters need special equipment and materials to deal with such fires. 

“One of the most ecologically friendly ways to dispose of a lithium-ion battery is to dismantle it,” Vegreville said. But this puts the lives of the dismantlers at risk.

Demand for lithium batteries is set to become a $116 billion industry by the year 2030, leaving some experts concerned that production may outstrip the industry’s ability to properly handle waste on the back end.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency admits special recycling and hazardous waste facilities are needed to deal with the influx of electric batteries. One standard electric car battery on average weighs over 1,000 pounds though only about 120 to 150 pounds of this is lithium according to industry figures..

In short, disposing of Li - Ion batteries in a safe and environmentally friendly way will need to be a highly regulated, multi-million dollar industry in its own right to reduce pollution and fire hazards.

Moreover, Hadder says the current political demand for lithium could end with a push for more toxic, unsustainable projects in the long run. And while he supports a transition to renewable energy overall, the current gold rush mentality for lithium is anything but green.

World Economic Forum Calls for Merging of Human and Artificial Intelligence to Censor ‘Hate Speech’ & ‘Misinformation’

 

Despite the fact that they represent only the interests of big business, big finance and themselves, the oligarchs of the World Economic Forum are now calling for a policy of merging human and artificial intelligence systems so that computer chips implanted in our brain can edit and censor “hate speech” and “misinformation” online before it is articulated trough spoken of written word online.

A report recently posted on the official WEF website discusses what is melodramatically referred to as "the peril of the dark world of online harms.”

But the globalist body, run by comic book Bond villain Klaus Schwab, an 84 year old scion of a prominent Nazi family in Hitler's Germany  has a solution. The weirdos and billionaire psychopaths of the WEF want to merge the ‘best’ aspects of human censorship and AI machine learning algorithms to ensure that people’s feelings don’t get hurt and counter-regime opinions are blacklisted.

“By uniquely combining the power of innovative technology, off-platform intelligence collection and the prowess of subject-matter experts who understand how threat actors operate, scaled detection of online abuse can reach near-perfect precision,” states the article.

After engaging in an orgy of psychbabble and technobabble, the article concludes by proposing “a new framework: rather than relying on AI to detect at scale and humans to review edge cases, an intelligence-based approach is crucial.”

“By bringing human-curated, multi-language, off-platform intelligence into learning sets, AI will then be able to detect nuanced, novel abuses at scale, before they reach mainstream platforms. Supplementing this smarter automated detection with human expertise to review edge cases and identify false positives and negatives and then feeding those findings back into training sets will allow us to create AI with human intelligence baked in,” the article rambles.

In other words, your free speech will probably get censored before you’re even able to post it on social media sites. Some are calling it “preemptive censorship.” Or to use WEF terminology, “Trust and safety teams can stop threats rising online before they reach users.” 

It is pure Naziism, so much so it could easily have been written by Josef Goebbels, Hitler's head of propaganda.

No doubt that a central part of such “misinformation” will be strident denunciation of the WEF itself, given that the organization is notorious for blocking its critics on Twitter.

1,200 Scientists and Professionals Go Public With: “There is No Climate Emergency”

 

Ever since the distant days of 2005, when the original Boggart Blog was unleashed on the world our little team have been calling out the massive pseudoscientific fraud that has spread the climate change  fallacy, the idea, based almost entirely on data output by mathematical models of the climate, that the predicted climate change catastrophe is the reuslt of Carbon Dioxide emitted into the atmosphere due to human activity, and the equally false claim that the science behind this notion is ‘settled’. 

We have been called conspiracy theorists and worse, accused of being anti - science and described as mass murderers of third world babies, though how our holding opinions that question an official narrative causes anybody's death is as big a mystery as how a trace atmospheric gas (400 parts per million in air) which is not a pollutant and actually is essential to the continuation of life on this planet can cause the kind of vlimate upheaval that is allegedly happening now.

As it happens the narrative  promoting the risible idea that "The Science Is Settled," and a few other trains of pseudoscientific misinformation used to keep ramping up the fear level among the general public have been kicked in the place where it hurts most by the publication of  The World Climate Declaration (WCD) a study and report signed by over 1,100 scientists and professionals. 

The authors, meteorologists, physicists, biologists, naturalists and well qualified people drawn from a host of other professions and academic disciplines and from all around the world conclude there is no climate emergency. The team led by the Norwegian physics Nobel Prize laureate Professor Ivar Giaever comment that climate science can be said to have degenerated into a discussion based on beliefs, not on sound self-critical science.

The scale of the opposition now gathering against this modern day dogma of ‘settled’ climate science is noteworthy, considering that the climate change dogma was the first of the 'unquestionable truths' of this quasi - religious cult of 'Scientism'  that academics found their career, professional reputation and and personal life could be trashed should they dare to question it. Also over the past two decades it has been impossible for those wishing to undertake a critical study of the very dodgy computer models on which the claims are based and compare their predictions to what has actually been happening in the real world to raise grants for any climate research that departs from the political orthodoxy. Another lead author of the declaration, Professor Richard Lindzen, has called the current climate narrative “absurd”, but acknowledged that trillions of dollars and the relentless propaganda from grant-dependent academics and agenda-driven journalists have convinced the majority of people in the developed world it is not absurd.

The WCD is scathing about the quality of the climate models, which are usually created not by professional computer programmers but by scientists who think they are better qualified to write the software because computers are 'scientific.' 

In reality computers are not very scientific at all, take it from someone who worked with them for 30 years. They do not "store information as millions of little ones and zeros" or even millions of big ones and zeros, what they do is distinguish btween a positive (+) and negative (-) charge of static electricity. Everything else is instructions written by humans. 

To believe the 'scientific' predictions of such a climate model is to accept that what the modellers have input is a reasonable representation of the real world. In fact it has been known for around twenty years that the computers are not fed empirical data gathered from around the world, but 'adjusted data' in other words information that has been manipulated, presumably to ensure it provides the required answer. Climate models now provide all the evidence referenced in discussions of climate upheaval and independant scientists see this as a problem. “We should free ourselves from the naïve belief in immature climate models,” says the WCD. “In future, climate research must give significantly more emphasis to empirical science.”

Since the end of the ‘Little Ice Age’ in around 1850, the world has warmed significantly less than predicted by the IPCC on the basis of modelled human influences. “The gap between the real world and the modelled world tells us that we are far from understanding climate change,” the WCD notes.

Publication of The Declaration is an enormously significant event, although it will be ignored by the mainstream media and political debate. But this is not the first time distinguished scientists have called for less mathematical speculation and more reality in climate science. In Italy a leading physicist, Emeritus Professor Antonino Zichichi recently led 48 science professors in stating that the role of CO2 emissions from human activity in climate change is “unjustifiably exaggerated and the catastrophic predictions used to justify irrational and authoritarian policies like 'net zero' are not realistic”. In their scientific view, “natural variation explains a substantial part of global warming observed since 1850”. Professor Zichichi has signed the WCD.

The Declaration notes oberves that the planet’s climate has varied greatly for as long as the planet has existed, with  cycles of cold and warm periods. “It is no surprise that we are experiencing a period of warming,” it continues. Climate models have many shortcomings,  “and are not remotely plausible as global policy tools” it warns. The amateur programmers deliberately blow up the effect of carbon dioxide, but ignore its beneficial effects. 

“CO2 is not a pollutant,” the Declaration says (echoing what Boggart Abroad has been saying all these years,) “It is essential to all life on Earth. Photosynthesis is a blessing. More CO2 is beneficial for nature, greening the Earth; additional CO2 in the air has promoted growth in global plant biomass. It is also good for agriculture, increasing the yield of crops worldwide.”

In addition, the scientists claim that there is no statistical evidence that global warming is intensifying hurricanes, floods, droughts and such-like natural disasters, or making them more frequent, and provide datasets to back up this assertion. 

“There is no climate emergency,” the Declaration goes on. “We strongly oppose the harmful and unrealistic net-zero CO2 policy proposed for 2050,” it says, adding that the aim of global policy should be “prosperity for all” by providing reliable and affordable energy at all times. “In a prosperous society, men and women are well educated, birth rates are low and people care about their environment,” it concludes.

The WCD is the latest sign that the ‘settled science’ narrative on which climate change fearmongering is based, is rapidly falling apart as one after the other the doom laden predictions fail to materialise.

Do We Have A Winter Of Civil Disobedience Ahead?

As many people in Britain slap on the apres sun gloop in the wake of what passes for a heatwave in these cool cloudy climes, our inept politicians caught with their pants down by unusual weather as usual have heard that that winter is coming and are making plans for a coldwave. 

We are in the grip of an energy crisis at the height of summer, due in part at least to the loss of gas imports from Russia.  Six months into the war in Ukraine, UK and EU policymakers are finally realising the potentially catastrophic implications of their gung-ho attitude in sanctioning Russia and supplying the neo Nazi nutters in Kiev with unlimited armaments and ammunition having backfired as The Kremlin retaliated by sanctioning gas exports to European states that depend on Russian gas.

Last week, it was reported that the UK government is laying down plans for a “reasonable worst-case scenario” through the winter of '22/'23 in which below-average temperatures and gas shortages could force  to trigger industry regulators to impose emergency gas-saving measures, including blackouts for industry and even households. And this is as energy prices spiral out of control to new records every day. The average annual energy bill for a typical household is expected to reach £4,200, or about £350 a month in the coming winter — more than double what households are currently paying and a four-fold increase on the average bill paid just a year ago.

The social consequences of such an outcome will be metamorphic, the public are already aware that a far bigger factor in the energy price increase is the risible underperformance of 'sustainable sources' of clean, green electricity. Our dependence on wind and sunshine to provide the stream of megawatts we need twenty four hours a day looks like pushing 10.5 million households — a third of the total — into poverty, worsening what is already the UK’s worst cost-of-living crisis in decades. Yet even when faced with a campaign of civil disobedience, calling on people to cancel their energy direct debits, the government hasn’t been able to come up with anything better than offering households a one-off £400 discount on their fuel bills in October (and a bit more for those on means-tested benefits).

This has been the inevitable outcome of former Labour Party leader Ed Miliband’s disastrous Climate Change Act since 2008.

 Environmentalists representing groups outside parliament effectively wrote the act in collaboration with elected politicians from the 'Looney Left' of the Labour Party and a few Liberal Democrat tree huggers, and all MPs (bar 5) voted it through. There are enough covenants, pledges and commitments in its claues to make sure the green blob and their philanthropist billionaire funders can (and do) sue the government at even the slightest deviation. 

Then we have ESGs which ensure companies’ feet are held to the fire, and ensure funding – which the oil companies desperately need to ramp up production – is steered well away from anything which would negatively affect climate policy.

Of course the green blob are screaming loudest about the lack of energy and how it hits the poorest and most vulnerable in society hardest, hypocritically oblivious to the fact that policies they pushed for are the main cause. They could be well on the way to NetZero, if they had allowed nuclear, but apparently that isn’t an option either.

Not to mention that shutting down 20 power stations in 20 years without viable alternatives will do that. We aren’t using less energy, we’re now just dependent on importing more.

 One of the proposals being considered among the government's winter plans is bringing energy under government control. This shows a lack of historical awareness as well as a lack of intelligence, there are many examples of how bringing an industry under government control turns it into a basket case, and it certainly won’t magically produce more energy without building power stations, pumping more gas out of North Sea wells, reopening coal mines or fracking. And you can guarantee the green blob lawyers would be all over that to make sure they aren’t viable options.

We wonder if coal miners’ production schedules have been geared up for the “death of coal being greatly overexaggerated?”

Over the last five years it has been very fashionable for big miners (Rio, BHP, Anglo American, etc.) to offload their thermal coal assets to smaller miners.

Smaller miners have less access to capital for development and exploration, so we suspect that even with a big surge in demand for coal, there won’t be an accompanying increase in supply.

That certainly is what the market looks like right now.

And with that the only thing that moves is price. And that means the existing companies will experience this awesomely wonderful thing called margin expansion. They print more money. Wonderful!

German Researchers Examine Covid “Vaccines” and Vaccinated People’s Blood and Say Stop Vaccinations Immediately

The German Working Group for Covid Vaccine Analysis has made its ‘Summary of Preliminary Findings’ publicly available. In a wide-ranging report dated 6 July, the Group described the toxic substances found in all Covid “vaccine” samples analysed and the marked changes seen in blood samples taken from vaccinated people.  The Group also found that the greater the stability of the envelope of lipid nanoparticles, the more frequent the vaccine side effects.

“In order to avert a direct and imminent danger to human life and public safety, we ask that the Covid-19 vaccination programmes be discontinued immediately,” the Group’s report stated.

According to WG Vaccines Education, this report was sent to all members of the Bundestag (Lower House of Parliament in Germany) and then to authorities and media – a total of over 4000 people.

The Working Group for Covid Vaccine Analysis is an interdisciplinary working group that has undertaken the task of analysing the contents and the effects of the novel Covid-19 “vaccines.” The group is an internationally networked working group with a core team of more than 60 doctors, physicians, pharmacists, scientists, mathematicians, alternative health practitioners, lawyers and journalists.

The Group noted that due to the unprecedented political situation that they have found themselves in since March 2020, the contents of their report have not been subjected to the customary peer-review process.
