Hottest Ever UK January Day – In One Small Village

Today has been the hottest January day ever recorded in the UK, according to Met Office data and reported throughout mainstream media. The village of Kinlochewe, in northern Scotland, which is home to fewer than 100 people, recorded a high of 19.6C on January 28, with nearby villages in the northernmost regions of the Highlands also in excess of 18C. The previous record for a January day was 18.3C, which had occurred four times, most recently on January 16, 2003 so given that accurate records for this part of the world do not go back very far there is really nothing unique about this event.

Today’s high is not due to ‘climate change’ although Warmageddonists and climate alarmists have been quick to claim it is, but is a result of a rare phenomenon known as the Fohn (or Foehn) effect (literally ‘the hairdryer effect’) that sees isolated spots near mountains hit with a narrow blast of hot air.

Britain is currently experiencing a southerly wind, bringing warm air up to the British Isles from the Azores. Most of the country experienced an unusually (but not remarkably) warm winter’s day, but in the more mountainous regions in the north, a Foehn Effect amplified the mild weather even further.

With this warmer weather coming on the back of a spell of dire weather across the country, including in Scotland, as storms Henk, Isha and Jocelyn battered the UK this month the Warmageddonist lobby have been triggered to ramp up their predictions of imminent disaster if we do not shut down civilised communities immediately and return to a medieval lifestyle.

It is notable that phrases like “On record” and “Since records began” occur in mainstream media reports of this event, as they do in all sensationalist reporting of unusual weather. As Met Office records only go back to 1860, less than 200 years, they’re fairly meaningless phrases but scare gullible and compliant people half to death. What was the temperature when the Romans ruled Britain and grew grapes to produce their beloved wine locally?

What temperatures were experienced during the Medieval Warm Period which fake Nobel Prizewinning climate fraudster Michael Mann judiciously excluded from his calculations when creating the now infamous ‘Hockey Stick graph,?’ What was the temperature when dinosaurs roamed in Britain? Attention grabbing headline phrases like ‘Highest ever temperature’ and ‘hottest on record’ are designed to keep the climate change scam at the top of the agenda.

The previous record for a January day was 18.3C, which had occurred four times, most recently on January 16, 2003, so nothing noteworthy at all, except for the gullible.

Also the statement widely reported in fervid articles and broadcast news segments claimed that last year is set to be the second warmest ever in the UK seems remarkably similar to the kind of statement I have heard every year for around 20 years now. But that kind of consistency is easy to achieve when evidence is collected only from mathematical models programmed by computing amateurs, empirical evidence tells a different story but one that the ruling elites do not wish to encourage discussion of.

We should always be wary of any statements from any western public bodies, whose political leaders are in thrall to the failed theory of dangerous man-made global warming and wannabe global government organisations like the WEF and United Nations. Apart from the endless exaggeration and propaganda from these organisations, QUANGOs and government agencies there is a track record of manipulation, falsifying of past and present data sets to make the past appear to be colder than it was. Another statistical ‘device’, is to carefully select time periods when some, largely insignificant, warming occurred, all whilst ignoring the previous periods of much warmer conditions. The 1920s and ’30s were, in reality, far warmer than subsequent decades and our present temperatures.

Viewed against the time scales of earlier geological periods, all these slight perturbations are totally insignificant, as the earth has experienced far colder and far warmer time periods.

It is well known, or ought to be by now that Boggart Blog does not have a high opinion of 'scientists.' This is not to say we think all people whose work involves use of the natural and applied sciences or some kind of research is a wanker who will rig their reports to produce the result whoever is funding them requires., but on the balance of evidence most of those on the payroll of governments and supra national QUANGOs (Quasi - autonomous non governmental organisations certainly appear to be. Were it otherwise how could any sane person be involved in a study which reports that growing your own vegetables, fruit or recreational drugs in your garden is more harmful to 'the planet' than industrialised farming.

A study from the University of Michigan has concluded that, “The carbon footprint of homegrown foods is five times greater than produce from conventional agricultural practices, such as rural farms, data show.

looked at how much CO2 was produced when growing food in different types of urban farms and found that, on average, a serving of food made from traditional farms creates 0.07kg of CO2.

The impact on the environment is almost five times higher at 0.34kg per portion for individual gardens, such as vegetable patches or allotments.”

Jake Hawes, a PhD candidate at Michigan and first author of the study, said: “The most significant contributor to carbon emissions on the urban agriculture sites we studied was the infrastructure used to grow the food – from raised beds to garden sheds to pathways, these constructions had a lot of carbon invested in their construction.

The study, published in the journal Nature Cities, recruited 73 urban agriculture sites around the world, including Europe, the US, and the UK, and conducted a comprehensive life cycle assessment on the site’s infrastructure, irrigation and supplies.

Globalists in Panic: ‘Wake-Up Call’ Analysis Details Potential Populist Sweep in ’24.

 

Right-wing nationalist and populist parties throughout Europe are predicted to make fresh gains in upcoming elections, with the authors of a new report for the European Council on Foreign Relations demanding fellow globalists heed their “wake-up call.”

The report, reviewed by The National Pulse, combined surveys across all 27 European Union (EU) member states with modeling based on the past performance of national parties. It found that nationalist and populist parties are on track to gain in nine EU countries: Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, France, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, and Slovakia. Researchers urge governments to endorse a global moratorium on mRNA injections in a newly released science paper

In a paper published on Wednesday, researchers re-analysed the Pfizer covid “vaccine” phase 3 trial data and found more serious adverse events among those in the vaccine group.

This is not what published reports from Pfizer’s phase 3 trials said.  “Many key trial findings were either misreported or omitted entirely from published reports,” the researchers said.

Seven researchers – M. Nathaniel Mead, Stephanie Seneff, Russ Wolfinger, Jessica Rose, Kris Denhaerynck, Steve Kirsch and Peter A. McCullough – set out to re-analyse Pfizer’s trial data because:

• our understanding of covid vaccinations and their impact on health and mortality has evolved substantially since the first vaccine rollouts; and,
• problems with the methods, execution, and reporting of the pivotal phase 3 trials have emerged.

On Wednesday, they published their findings in a peer-reviewed paper titled ‘Covid-19 mRNA Vaccines: Lessons Learned from the Registrational Trials and Global Vaccination Campaign’. The paper was published in Cureus, a journal of medical science.

“Re-analysis of the Pfizer trial data identified statistically significant increases in serious adverse events (SAEs) in the vaccine group,” the researchers wrote.

Adding, “Numerous SAEs were identified following the Emergency Use Authorisation (EUA), including death, cancer, cardiac events, and various autoimmune, haematological, reproductive, and neurological disorders.”

The EU’s hate-speech bill is not simply about being tough on prejudice. But it is a crackdown on dissent and a restriction on democracy

Last Thursday, in a worrying development for freedom of speech in Europe, the European Parliament voted to add hate speech and hate crime to the list of ‘EU Crimes’.

EU Crimes, such as terrorism and human trafficking, are those considered “particularly serious” in the eyes of Brussels and that also have a “cross-border dimension”. For EU Crimes, Brussels can establish minimum criminal offences and sanctions which must apply across the bloc, suspending the usual EU principle of subsidiarity.

Given that EU-wide rules already criminalise hate speech committed on the basis of race, skin colour, religion, descent or national or ethnic origin, one could be forgiven for thinking an extension of the law would not be necessary.

But the EU is facing “new social dynamics”, says Renew rapporteur Maite Pagazaurtundúa, in which “hate” is allegedly being “normalised”, meaning a tougher legal framework is needed.

In the last few decades the global elites have been pushing, particularly in the developed nations, to shift financial activity from cash and paper cheques towards a “cashless world,” a trend that continues to be promoted by government, financial institutions, big business and the media. So what is the push to go cashless really about? Under close scrutiny it becomes apparent that the primary objective is an attempt to gain control of all financial assets and bring citizens savings and pension funds within the control of national governments and banking systems. Reduced reliance on physical cash facilitates increased surveillance of financial transactions, centralised planning of economic activity and greater use of coercive methods to fore citizens to comply with unpopular and undemocratic policies..

It is worth noting that in both Europe and North America face value of the highest denomination banknotes produced by the Central Bank is diminishing. In the US the highest note is the $100 bill, in the EU the €500 note is no longer issued and in the UK though the £50 note is still the highest value it has remained so for over 100b years despite the rampant inflation of recent decades.  Another sign of the bid to remove cash from circulation is the imposition of strict limits on the amounts one may deposit withdraw in cash from a bank account in a single transaction or per day.

Governments aim to benefit from a cashless system as it allows for more draconian enforcement of unfair taxation and the extension of central planning, while banks see opportunities to increase fees and impose naegative Interest Rates.

A shocking poll exposes the utter contempt the elite holds the general public in, with more than three quarters wanting to ration food and energy to combat ‘climate change’ and a majority wanting air travel for holidays banned.

The survey was conducted by the Committee to Unleash Prosperity (CUP), a Maryland-based non-profit advocacy group.

The organization polled members of America’s 1 per cent – defined as people who have a postgraduate degree and an annual income of more than $150,000.

77 per cent of elitists who were asked, “To fight climate change, would you favor or oppose the strict rationing of gas, meat and electricity?” said they would favor such a policy.

That figure rises even higher to 89 per cent amongst Ivy League graduates.

Presumably, their wealth will ensure they are exempt from such rationing while poor people can go whistle.

In addition, 69 per cent of elitists want an immediate ban on gas stoves, while 81 per cent want gas powered vehicles outlawed.

A majority also want the government to forbid the use of air conditioning and non-essential air travel, effectively outlawing vacations, rules that presumably won’t apply to their private jets and luxury compounds.

67 per cent of elitists also believe that teachers should decide what children are taught compared to 26 per cent who think parents should decide.

The poll also reveals how the elite are totally at odds with the general public in both lifestyle and beliefs.

When canvassed on how much freedom the United States should bestow on its citizens, 47 per cent said people had too much freedom compared to 21 per cent who said there was too much control.

In comparison, 57 per cent of voters said there was too much control compared to 16 per cent who said there was too much freedom.

74 per cent say their finances are getting better, while just 20 per cent of the general public say the same.

A whopping 84 per cent also approve of the job Joe Biden is doing as president, while recent polls show Biden has an approval rating of around 39 per cent with general voters.

“The people who run America, or at least think they do, live in a bubble of their own construction,” write the poll’s authors.

“They’ve isolated themselves from everyday America’s realities to such a degree their views about what is and what should be happening in this country differ widely from the average America.”

As Chris Morrison notes at The Daily Sceptic the poll results are likely to be mirrored across the western world, in a similar way to how the backlash against the elite’s policies are replicated in numerous different countries. It is worth noting that the issues that congern the super - rich according to the poll, echo closely the topics discussed at last wee's World econimic Forum (WEF) annual jamboree in Davos, Switzerland.

Net Zero Is Dying Says The Manhattan Contrairian - But Is It Taking Western Civilisation With It?

 We Boggart Bloggers have always been sceptical of the Climate Change scam, right from the days when it was known as Global Warming. And as most of our readers will be aware, the scam had to be rebranded as 'Climate Change' because after a brief (and statistically insignificant,) warming trend in the 1980s and 90 the apparent warming stopped until 2016 when there was a brief blip because of an El Nino event on the Pacific region before global mean temperatures started flatlining again.

Despite there being irrefutable evidence of all this government, corporate business, the science academe and mainstream media kept pushing the impending climate catastrophe, backing up their forecasts of doom with scary graphs and narratives until they came up with 'Net Zero., a plan to destroy the economies of the liberal democracies by making it impossible for businesses to operate profitably or working people to live decently.

It seems that the tide is turning, the globalist elites have overplayed their hand. More and more people and news organisations are turning against the narrative and recognising that none of the predicted catastrophies have happened, none of the milestones have been reached and the plan to replace oil, gas and coal as the energy sources for generating electricity with wind turbines and solar panels (zero carbon emission but totally unreliable,) are failing miserably.

Markers Along The Road To The Death Of Net Zero

What will the death of the green energy illusion look like? From time to time (see, for example, here and here) I have described a vision where some state or country runs headlong into a “green energy wall” — an impassable barricade of physical impossibility, characterized by scarcity and blackouts, into which the country crashes suddenly. Among the net zero zealot countries I have identified as the leading candidates for imminently hitting such a wall are Germany and the UK.

But perhaps, instead of a sudden crash, the demise of the green energy illusion will look more like a slow but steady decline, a gradual withering of economic activity and prosperity. In this scenario, high energy prices brought about by energy restrictions drive important industries out of business and, as good jobs disappear and energy prices increase, the people gradually and inexorably get poorer. Recent events in the UK and Germany seem to point in the direction of this type of scenario.

The latest edition of the GWPF’s Net Zero Watch Newsletter has the headline “Net Zero is dying.” (Go here and follow the link for your own copy of the newsletter. Full disclosure — I am on the board of the American affiliate of the GWPF.). Nine linked news articles from the past couple of days all deal with recent instances of industrial decline in the UK and Germany, each one a consequence of energy prices intentionally driven upward in the pursuit of “net zero.”

Several of the pieces cover the impending closure of the Port Talbot steelworks in Wales, with the loss of up to 2,500 jobs. Illustrative is a January 19 piece in the Daily Telegraph by Allison Pearson, headline “Port Talbot has been sacrificed to the angry god of net zero.” Although the Telegraph is behind paywall, the NZW Newsletter has a lengthy excerpt.
