If You're Afraid Of Nuclear War You're Not Supporting Ukraine Enough Is Zelensky's Latest Message

The follow up to Elon Musk's refusal to open his Starlink satellite network for the benefit of Ukrainian military leaders as they fantasise about attacking Crimea and driving out the Russian occupying force this past week showcases how completely unhinged and dangerous the Ukrainian government's desire to escalate the war has become.

To be fair to Musk his position on non - involvement has been consistent, the Washington Post revealed that he turned down a Ukrainian request to help launch a major sneak attack in September 2022 on the Crimean port of Sevastopol. Now he is under attack again for refusing to comply with an old demand from Zelensky to act as enabler for an attack that could easily have provoked a nuclear response from Russia.

Though I have never written anything in support of Russia in this Ukraine fiasco I have often been called a Putin fanboy and a Russian troll for criticising Ukraine's constant stream of provocations and the Kiev government's attempts to draw the USA and NATO into direct intervention in support of Kiev's neo - Nazi regime, I don’t trust any 'news' I see or hear from either side, in fact my position since the 1960s when Vietnam was in the headlines has always been anti - war.  From that stance, though Elon Musk may be an entertaining eccentric according to some, or a dangerous megalomaniac in the opinion of others I congratulate him on his refusal to let his companies become involved. 

Zelensky on the other hand is furios, not only because Musk has refused to give him what he wants, but also because of the growing reluctance of western leaders to meet his demands for more, bigger and deadlier weapons. His threats last week to terrorise the United States and Europe with assassination operations if NATO members will not support further escalation of the war, threats which encompassed the ordinary citizens of the liberal democracies because the poisonous dwarf see the increasing swing of public opinion to opposing the war as having been influential on leaders rebuffing his demands.

There were numerous reasons why Musk was correct in refusing to activate his Starlink internet services for Ukraine to carry out the unprecedented, surprise attack on Russian naval vessels: SpaceX was not on a military contract at that time and would not have been paid for the service, the late-night request came directly from the Ukrainian—not American—government and Starlink had never been activated over Crimea because of U.S. sanctions on Russia. Add to that the undesirability of corporate business providing support to military action by governments of sovereign states that have engaged in ethnic cleansing campaigns, as the Kiev regime has since coming to power in a US / EU engineered coup in 2014 and it becomes clear that Elon Musk was correct.

Most importantly however, Musk was concerned that had he allowed Starlink to be used to support the planned the attack, it result in serious "conflict escalation." He worried that he was being asked to turn on Starlink for a "Pearl Harbor like attack" and had no wish to "proactively take part in a major act of war," possibly provoking a Russian nuclear response.

In response to this nuclear aversion, Musk was called "evil" by a high-level Ukrainian official and "traitor" by American and British jingoists who seem to welcome the idea of nuclear conflict. 

Rachel Maddow on the MSNBC network said Musk had "intervened to try to stop Ukraine from winning the war." CNN's Jake Tapper described Elon as a "capricious billionaire" who "sabotaged a military operation by Ukraine, a U.S. ally".  Sen. Elizabeth (Pocohontas) Warren, called for an immediate Congressional investigation "to ensure foreign policy is conducted by the government and not by one billionaire."

The cruelty of the Kiev regime in inflicting this war on their people when all they had to do to avoid it was observe the Minsk agreements brokered in 2017 by German Chancellor Merkel and French president Hollande, and of the US and UK governments in blocking talks about a negotiated settlement arranged by Turkey's President Erdogan is quite unbelievable, we cannot know the true numbers of Ukrainians who had died or suffered life changing injuries for no reason other than to satisfy Zelenskyy's lust for power and the bloodlust of the neo - Nazis in Kiev whose irrational hatred of Russians stated this conflict back in 2014.  So far in spite of all the deaths (on both sides,) the destruction and the destabilisation of the global economy, nothing has been achieved other than to bring this world closer to nuclear destruction than at any time since the Cuban missile crisis of 1962. The chaos that these deranged minds want to inflict on us all is totally unnecessary, and yet both Ukraine and their allies in Washington DC seem determined to keep cranking up the tension.

WWIII? Who knows? The only thing we can be certain of it that none of the people who are profiting from the war, the US and European Military Industrial Complex and the politicians and public servants who collaborate with it, and the crooked oligarchs and corrupt officials in Russia and Ukraine, will be suffer in the mayhem they created and are now prolonging. As in every war, they’ll walk off enriched and minimally satisfied, seeking new opportunities to garner to themselves more wealth and power, regardless of how many people suffer as a result.

The Offshore Wind Fiasco Sets New Records For Government Incompetence

In an article on wind powered generators last week another mainstream media science & technology writer showed himself in need of remedial education in basic literacy:
"Meanwhile, 14GW of installed capacity puts us second in the world behind China," he burbled
The problem here is inability to understand the meaning of 'installed capacity.'
If it means a capability of generating 14GW of electricity, as it would if we were discussing gas, nuclear or coal that would be lovely. But on the day in question, according to Gridwatch UK, ALL our installed wind capacity (38GW the government claims), both offshore and on land, was generating only 8% of the 30 GW the nation was using at the time.

When wind conditions are right, wind turbines can generate up to 50% of our needs but how can systems run efficiently when there are such wide variations in powerr supply, as they would have to if Net Zero is achieved..

Gas and solar were doing well when the screenshot was taken (sunny, low wind day day - solar has the same problems as wind.) nuclear was steady at 17% and we were  importing 20% from cross channel links, mostly France. Biomass and hydro made up the balance.

Once again the facts prove sustainables are not capable of sustaining an adequate power supply.

According to estimates from RenewableUK, the offshore wind projects eligible  auction in this year’s round could, had anybody bothered to turn up to bid for the licences, have “powered nearly 8 million homes a year and saved consumers £2bn a year compared to the cost of electricity from gas”. And although the cost of offshore wind has risen, Renewable UK claimed it is still significantly cheaper than new gas plants. In view of such congfidence from the green lobby it is curious that not one of the 5 areas set to be licenced for offshore wind farm development attracted a single bid.

The first step to  understanding what happened is to debunk themyth about about renewables being cheaper than gas, nuclear or coal.  To suggest such a thing is an outright deception. Renewables UK, a QANGO tasked with promoting intermittent, weather - dependent technologies for supplying our electricity unsurprisingly talk up the virtues of wind and solar because they represent the commercial (not charitable) interests of the green energy industry rther than the interests of the consumer.

The true price of renewables could be established by demanding all power generators be geared to ‘demand follow’, which is the type of power supply the grid actually needs. What would renewable suppliers do? With no scalable storage solution they would have no choice but to build gas / coal / nuclear backup capacity to a level comparable to their installed renewable capacity. Then their per Megawatt price would be north of £100/MWh and the true cost would be revealed.

The Renewable UK case rests on a blatantly false claim: “ And although the cost of offshore wind has risen, it is still significantly cheaper than new gas plants.”

This ignores the fact that windmills are highly intermittent and, unlike gas and coal, incapable of producing continuous power. To make a fair price comparison, windmill operators should be required to include in their bids the full cost of the necessary storage that their windmills should have in order to deliver continuous power - which is, after all, essential to their customers.

This may well be technically impossible, as the amount of storage required is vast. But it would certainly show that the true cost of practically usable windmill power is an order of magnitude (or even several orders of magnitude) greater than coal or gas. And always will be. 

This true cost of intermittent sources is NEVER presented because the cost of running the necessary backup for when the wind does not blow and the sun does not shine is always ignored. The inevitable logic of the exercise would probably show that commercially it would be better to just build new gas and nuclear stations and dump the renewables. Which is precisely what we should do as a nation. Because this is not the route to cheap power, neither is it the route to net zero - the gas backup will always emit carbon.

The only way to a demand led, carbon free grid is nuclear. We should stop wasting our time and money on intermittent, unreliable supply in the wrong places miles from demand. Burn gas while we resurrect our erstwhile nuclear industry. Who knows we might even achieve a true net zero grid by 2050.

At the moment there are many projects approved over the last few years that the energy companies have not bothered to progress, putting more projects out, just to sit on a shelf would have been pointless. Thus it is gratifying that the auction closed with no takers, the 4.4p per unit royalty due to the government was not enough for energy companies to invest even though they are selling at 30-40p. Had the government offered a much higher price perhaps they would have been takers, but the government would have been then accused of forcing consumers to pay higher prices and of them lining the pockets of the energy companies.

This renewables nonsense all started with Ed Miliband when he was Energy Secretary in Gordon Brown's government, He and other politicians, all singularly unqualified to deal with matters relating to science and technology abandoned expert engineering advice from the old CEGB in favour of the policies recommended by 'scientists' who sit in universities making mathematical models of power stations without ever having been anywhere near a working installation. Seduced by all the virtue signalling talk about saving the planet and being environment friendly the politicians simply reneged on their social contract to serve the people, in the case of electricity by ensuring an adequate and affordable supply, in order to demonstrate their green credentials in the hope of winning the votes of middle class liberals. 

In doing so they have in effect quadrupled our supply prices, crippling UK industry, and plunging millions into fuel poverty, as a direct result of their policy. They have spent and subsidised wind, with infrastructure to the tune of over £220Bn, which is not new capacity merely replacing a portion of that all sold to foreign energy companies to prematurely close, to meet arbitrary EU. emission levels, but similar German plant meet

 Net Zero is a £3 Trillion disaster waiting to befall this country, cheered in by green activists who would rather import oil and gas halfway around the world than drreamof producing it here until we have viable storage, whilst China, India, and others exceed our total CO2 savings every 17 weeeks.

Currency Wars Versus The Gold Standard

 

We Boggart Bloggers have reported that although the battle lines in NATO's proxy war in Ukraine are drawn along the border between Ukraine's Russian speaking eastern provinces and the western part of the country there is another battle being fought on the economic front as Russia, China and their allies manoeuvre to replace the US$ as global reserve currency. American trade policy in  banning of Chinese technology, notably of Huawei, the world leader in G5 mobile technology is n intended not just to suppress competition to American technology but also to discourage inward investment to China. And Russia's invasion of Ukraine (following extreme provocation by Ukraine with support from the NATO powers it must be said,) gave the US government an excuse to cut Russia out of global currency markets.

That action, along with other economic sanctions set in train a series of events and rebounded badly on the West, particularly EU member states as misguided 'green energy' policies imposed by Brussels had made the EU heavily dependent on imported gas from Russia for domestic fuel and electricity generation. In the short term the rouble soared in value when Putin responded to western energy sanctions by setting his own payment terms. But since then, the rouble has declined as the US Federal Reserve has massively increased America's national debt in order to prop up the struggling dollar.

But Russia and China have not been standing still, Putin appointed one of his advisers, Sergei Glazyev, to design a trade settlement currency, initially for the Eurasian Economic Union. Simultaneously China was making deals with oil exporters and importers to use the Yuan as the default currency for settling oil contracts, thus beginning an assault on the 'Petrodollar, which has been the standard currency in which oil was traded since the early 1970s. 

It is believed that the plan for a gold backed BRICS (Brazil, Russia,India, China, South Africa) international currency was extended at the recent BRICS summit last month. China’s yuan is a component in the IMF’s SDR, a hard-won privilege which might have been threatened if it backed gold as a trade settlement medium. India has a history of Keynesian monetary policies and is keen to develop trade links with the US and its allies, as demonstrated by its hosting of the G20 meeting last weekend and its prospective free trade agreement with the UK. These partners may fear that the consequences of implementing a gold standard might be destabilising for the global currency system before the BRICS alternative is ready to step up.

There is bound to be spreading dissent in NATO this winter as energy shortages begin to bite, in fact the process has already started in Germany where the domestic economy is in freefall without any help from the political incompetence of world leaders. The most recent salvo on the energy front in the war  coincides with the onset of winter in the northern hemisphere. Russia and Saudi Arabia , the two biggest oil exporters, have jointly been squeezing oil supplies, pushing crude prices above the G7’s price caps as a means of giving the finger to Joe Biden's handlers who had given strict orders that oil supplies were not to be cut. One area where supply line shortages will hurt the Europeans more immediately is heating oil, which is also regarded as the proxy for diesel prices having increased in dollars by nearly 50% in the last quarter alone.

The importance of diesel is that logistics in Europe and America are almost entirely dependent upon it. No diesel and no freight can be moved by rail or road, not to mention by sea. On top of earlier OPEC+ cuts of 2 million barrels per day, the latest cuts of 1.3 million barrels per day cuts in oil output by Russia and Saudi Arabia are bringing pressure to bear on the supply of distillates (of which diesel is one) and Russia also plans to cut its diesel exports by a quarter, partly due to refinery maintenance (allegedly) and partly to divert supplies to its domestic economy. While the EU’s gas reserves are relatively full at 90% of capacity, it is not nearly enough to see the EU through the winter. From December onwards, there will be a scramble for more supplies. And the end of the agreement on Black Sea grain exports will put further pressure on food prices as well.

Russians are aware that effect of American monetary policy,  whether intended or not, is undermining the true value of their oil, something they have been powerless to correct without binding the price of oil to gold. In spite of that it is a mistake to assume this bid to establish a gold standard is a result on the war. In our currency wars page Russia’s motivation to take control of energy values was behind its proposal for a new BRICS gold backed currency and that it was part of a two-step plan.

The first step was to send a signal to markets that the era of the fiat dollar was over, justifying the second step which was for Russia and China, followed by other nations in the BRICS camp to evolve their own currencies onto gold standards as a protective response to a declining dollar. But China was not going to take the offensive against the dollar, and the Keynesian Indians were not convinced.

Russia will take the BRICS presidency next year, so we can assume that the new BRICS currency has not gone away. Meanwhile, if Russia is to use the oil weapon against the West, then it must put the rouble onto a gold standard again as a matter of urgency (it was on a gold standard until Khrushchev devalued the rouble in 1961). If Russia prevaricates on this issue, then Putin’s legacy to be a latter-day Peter the Great will be destroyed by his own currency.

The possible consequences of a Russian gold standard

In the middle of a war, usually a government suspends its gold standard. This would suggest that Russia can only consider a gold standard after its special operation in Ukraine is over. But the modern equivalent of a gold standard, the currency board, has been successfully established in modern times in nations with far worse budget deficits than Russia. Russia was in the fortunate position of a budget deficit of only 2.3% of GDP last year, despite military spending. This year, military spending has soared, and at a guess the deficit will be about 5% of GDP this year, but government debt to GDP will still be about 20%.

Anything other than ball-park numbers for the Russian economy are difficult to come by, and the volatility of the rouble is a further analytical hazard. But some of these numbers are not substantially different from where Britain was economically in 1816, when a return to the gold standard was planned — the exception being her estimated debt to GDP number, which at nearly 200% was ten times that of Russia today. Therefore, there is no reason why Russia cannot put the rouble onto a gold standard immediately.

In doing so, the objective is simple: to ensure that the purchasing power of circulating credit retains its value in terms of goods and services with as little fluctuation as possible. It would allow savers to accumulate credit balances in their bank accounts, and for businessmen to calculate the profitability of their investments with greater certainty. With income tax currently at a flat 13% rate and corporation tax at 20%, in these conditions economic progress will advance surprisingly rapidly. And there is every reason to expect Russia would quickly become an economic counterweight to the sheer power of China, rather than living off the depletion of her natural resources. It is necessary not just for Russia to distance herself from the fate of the western fiat currency system, but also for President Putin’s legacy.

The method of ensuring monetary stability is equally simple: to bind credit denominated in roubles to gold, which both in law and naturally is the money of the people. It is the highest form of credit, there being no counterparty risk. It’s purchasing power in the general sense has held steady through millennia. Importantly, it removes the currency from political control and dollar influences. It allows for the creation and destruction of credit determined solely by the needs of the Russian people, both as businessmen and consumers.

Apple Plans To Destroy The Panet In Order To Save The Planet

Apple, currently in the process of  launching their new iPhone have linked the gadget to the alleged climate change crisis, opening a video presentation with a black woman identified as "Mother Nature" who is explaining how Apple is working to halt and reverse climate change. The video is pure scaemongering, evoking images of a dystopian, Mad Max type world in the near future unless we cancel all Carbon Dioxide emissions (except those involved in the manufacture, distribution and operation of Apple products of course.  It might even be scary but for one flaw which shows we must already be living in a dystopian society if the brain dead morons who run Apple can be in charge of the world's biggest corporation. The video declares that Apple's goal is to "permanently remove all carbon from the atmosphere.” 

That would destroy all life on the entire planet - and not do Apple's future business prospects any good at all. I mean, would you buy an iPhone or any other overpriced gadget from a corporation that had killed your dear old Mum, your Dad, friends, partner, children, your dog, cat, and you. Oh yes, we would all go, carbon based life forms account for every living thing on the planet.

Apple's virtue signalling is so farcical it is impossible to satirise it.

Meanwhile there is better news on the climate:

A few days ago NTD ran a story on 1600 international scientists having signed a declaration dismissing the existence of a climate crisis and insisting that carbon dioxide is beneficial to Earth.

“There is no climate emergency,” the Global Climate Intelligence Group (CLINTEL) said in its World Climate Declaration (pdf), made public in August. “Climate science should be less political, while climate policies should be more scientific. Scientists should openly address uncertainties and exaggerations in their predictions of global warming, while politicians should dispassionately count the real costs as well as the imagined benefits of their policy measures.”

A total of 1,609 scientists and professionals from around the world have signed the declaration, including 321 from the United States.

The coalition reiterated what climate change sceptics have said for years, that the Earth’s climate constantly changed for as long as it has existed, with the planet experiencing several cold and warm phases. The Little Ice Age only ended as recently as 1850, they said.

“Therefore, it is no surprise that we now are experiencing a period of warming,” the declaration said.

The War In Ukraine Is About Freedom In Europe - NOT

 

The Colonel Blimps and Corporal Blimps, the types of war - loving jingoists who read The Daily Telegraph and Daily Express are still greedily lapping up 'news' stories parroting the official line that Ukraine is winning America's proxy war with Russia who for the past year and a half has been fought on its territory. That is the long way from the truth: while the Armed Forces of Ukraine appear to be holding the line at the borders of Russian speaking provinces in eastern Ukraine nobody in mainstream media is talking about the price Ukraine has paid, economically, socially and in human lives for resisting reality this long.

But with the Ukraine is winning' narrative looking increasingly unsustainable, the official line seems to be changing. We are now being told the west must continue to support Ukraine's war effort because our freedom is at stake. This is bollocks of course.

A story in The Daily Express informs us the conflict, now 18 months old, 'is the burning edge of freedom. It is an existential struggle for democratic values and the principles of a free society: that sovereign democratic states have inviolable borders, under the rule of international law and the common principles of dignity and humanity. Thus the struggle is much closer to home than we think: a few hours away by air from London.'

The UK may be the leading European nation in supporting the war, having giving more than £ 9 billion in humanitarian and military assistance so far, but for what? Not only is a Ukrainian victory impossible without direct, boots on the ground, intervention by US / NATO forces (and by no means certain even if that happened.)

But this war should be nothing to do with us, prior to the 2014 coup, engineered by the CIA, The Pentagon and NATO Ukraine was run by a corrupt but democratically elected government in collaboration with the oligarchs who controlled the organised crime networks and largely sympathetic to Moscow. We didn't want to know Ukraine before this, nor did we after the colour revolution had installed as the government in Kiev a corrupt, undemocratically imposed, neo - Nazi government which rules in collaboration with the organised crime oligarchs, the in fact we insulted the place, calling it a failed state and a third world nation.

But we did a U turn when the puppeteers who control Joe Biden, after eight years trying, successfully provoked Russia into action in defence of Russian speaking minorities against which the Kiev regime was waging a campaign of genocide.

The UK needs to find the to say no more., we're done.

We have run our country down for Ukraine, people in UK and western Europe are going to freeze this winter for Ukraine, Germany's economy has collapsed because of its support for Ukraine, the EU is being ripped apart for Ukraine (which is no bad thing,) yet still the 'Ukraine is winning but needs more support' narrative is being pushed by mainstream media in the west.

The logic behind such thinking is: 'if Ukraine hasn't tet lost, it must be winning.'

But if our leaders in the west do not back off that line, the war will have to go on forever, because like a compulsive gambler, the US / NATO alliance seems to believe that as long as they can stay in the game the next throw of the dice might the the one that tips the balance.

The Reasons Climate Scientists can't Tell The Full Truth About The Climate Change Threat

Editors at reputedly respectable 'peer reviewed' journals such as Nature stand accused of bias against researchers who challenge the established narratives on topics such as climate change, COVID vaccines and 'net zero' energy policies, appearing to prefer simplistic, scaremongering, unscientific stories based on output from mathematical models and speculation imminent disasters about to occur because climate change. But there are sceptics in the scientific academe who are pushing back against the politicised narratives.

One such sceptic is Patrick Brown, the co-director of climate and energy at the Breakthrough Institute in California, who has now admittted what us free thinkers have known for years about climate science: it’s biased in favour of alarmism.

“It is standard practice to calculate impacts for scary hypothetical future warming scenarios that strain credibility,” Brown wrote in research published by 'Nature.' So, after learning this lesson the hard way when his nuanced papers were rejected, he adapted his latest to suit their apparent prejudices – and it was published. Nature’s editor, Magdalena Skipper, responded by trying to shoot the messenger, criticising Brown’s deception as “poor research practices”.

It has long been an open secret that distinguished scientists who suggest that global warming is a problem but not a “crisis” get rejected, cancelled and marginalised by peer reviewers. Meanwhile, even the most trivial study that can be spun to support an alarmist conclusion – such as a notorious one that found fish behaviour to be affected by carbon dioxide – gets rushed into print, sensationalised and dramatised by mainstream media. Junior scientists, fearing their budding careers will be destroyed if they deviate from the orthodoxy skew their results accordingly.

One of the biggest measurable impacts of increased carbon dioxide is global greening – the recent increase in green vegetation on the planet, equivalent to twice the area of the United States and counting. But pointing this out brings a hail of professorial hate down on your head. I was even singled out in a Boston University press release for daring to suggest that more green vegetation might not be bad news.

Brown says that “there is a taboo against studying or even mentioning the successes of sceptical scientists since they are thought to undermine justifications for the highly political Carbon Dioxide emission reductions”. The problem is all solutions other than the 'Net Zero' policy beloved of the ruling elites areound the world but potentialy disastrous economically and socially are taboo. Brown writes: "If I waved a magic wand and gave the world unlimited clean and cheap energy tomorrow, I expect many climate scientists would be horrified: they would be out of a job."

This is true, The thing "climate scientists" fear most is that the research grants would dry up and they would have to do some real work to earn their living instead of playing with mathematical models on their computers.

Those who argue that climate change is real and a problem, but that other environmental issues are more urgent – the effect of single use plastic dumped in the environment, the effect of burning domestic and industrial waste from developed nations in third world states, overfishing of the oceans, invasive alien species, reliance of poor Africans on bushmeat and charcoal, to name a few – are treated as heretics to be persecuted.

It’s not just climate change. The main science journals have been quick to accept the Chinese regime’s insistence that a lab leak from a US funded bioweapons lab could not have caused the pandemic, ignoring the mountain of evidence suggesting that is exactly how it began refusing to publish several papers that convincingly argued otherwise and to investigate the issue, while gleefully reportin half-baked studies that stretched evience in order to implicate the seafood market in Wuhan. One such study claimed to have found evidence that raccoon dogs were infected and was hyped by mainstem media. The total debunking of that study by Professor Jesse Bloom was ignored by the same broadcast and print news organisations.

Taxpayer, you are not hearing the whole truth from the academics you fund.

One of the things nobody in the climate science community dares mention is in that plants cannot survive in low CO2 environments - anything less than about 250ppm (0.025%) would be disastrous for all life forms because Carbon Dioxide is an essential nutrient from which plant matter is formed and all our food originates from plant matter. Traditionally it has been assumed that the red line for plant survival is 150 ppmtion techniques (the current level is slightly over 400 ppm. Research for intensive cultivation shows 1600 ppm or more is the optimum for plants. 400ppm therefore is far too close to the 'dead planet' end of the scale and yet climate scientists are still trying to scare and bully policy makers into removing Carbon Dioxide from the atmospheres. Which is why Carbon Dioxide, demonised by the climate change lobby and politicians, is pumped into poly tunnels where so much of our fruit and vegetables are gown,) at 3,000ppm (0.3%) or higher, over ten times greater than the atmospheric concentration of the same gas.

Oddly, the Royal Society have published a graph purporting to show CO2 levels over the last 200,000 years and it regularly drops below 200ppm - so there can't have been any vegetation in these periods - although there clearly was, as evidenced in tree ring data - scientific data can be most inconvenient sometimes - so best to ignore it when it is. However, ice core data actually shows CO2 levels rising AFTER warming of the Earth, so it's clearly not a 'planet warming' trigger.

What should worry all of us who question the establishment naratives is how happy the global warming believers are about global warming. If our planet is facing imminent destruction from climate change one would expect people who believe that narrative to be crapping temselves. Instead we see them every day on TV smiling and grinning from ear to ear as they tell us how a few days hot weather somewhere, or havy rainfall in a South East Asian nation during the monsoon season is proof of global warming and that’s why in the liberal democracies of Europe and North America we must all be prepared to sacrifice our prosperous and comfortable lifestyles and expect miserable existences of impoverishment and discomfort in future.

A resonable person would think that these doom merchants would be happy to consider and discuss research that might prove the catastrophic predictions of their mathematical models wrong, that the climate change the world is experiencing is more likely to result from long established natural cycles that last occurred before accurate records were kept and that warming might not be as bad as they predict they respond like spolied children who, refused more sweets, become very angry and often abusive. I have lost count of the number of times I have challenged predictions of global destruction with politely worded arguments containing observed evidence only to be told I am an idiot, a child murderer, who, not being a scientist, is obviously incapable of understanding The Science.

However, a quick look at the timeline of their failed predictions shows it is they who for all their degrees and peer reviewed publictions, do not understand The Science and their self righteousness in response to being questioned gives credibility to those of us who point out that 'The Science' has taken on aspects of a religious cult. The truth is Climate Change scaremongering is not actually about changing the weather its about changing people and society to bprepare us for the imposition of an authoritarian, technocratic, global government.
