Government To cash In Emissions Credits To Keep Net Zero On Track While Relaxing Targets.

While many people welcomed the relaxations to Government 'Net Zero' policy announced by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak last week, others were quick to point out that it would be illegal to abandon commitments to reducing carbon emissions as they are enshrined in laws passed by the previous administrations of Gordon Bown (Labour) and Teresa May (Conserevative.) The Green Blob gleefully seized on this and attempted to undermine Sunak's small step towards common sense by claiming his initiative was doomed. Others said it was merely a political ploy aimed at halting the Conservatives decline ahead of some significant by - elections. But while Rishi Sunak has no been particularly effective as Prime Minister, having inherited a mess the even Disraeli, Lloyd George and Churchill rolled into one could not have handled, but he did not get to be a billionaire without knowing how to pull a stroke or two. It now emerges the government is planning to stay on the right side of strict carbon emission laws by cashing in on Britain’s projected “over performance” over the next decade.

The Prime Minister and Claire Coutinho, the Net Zero Secretary, are believed to have concluded that the Government will be able to capitalise on an expected surplus in emissions in order to push back deadlines such as the 2030 ban on selling petrol cars and the mandatory replacement of gas boilers with ineffective heat pumps, without breaching strict carbon budgets.

It is rumoured that the government's internal estimates show the proposed changes, including pushing back the 2030 ban on ICE cars by five years and weakening the phase-out of gas boilers, were projected to increase emissions by only five per cent.

However, the Government is likely to come under fire from environmental groups and the Climate Change Committee (CCC), the statutory watchdog set up to ensure the nation achieves the unachievable targets set by previous governments.

 Everything about Sunak’s supposed relaxation of Net Zero targets may seem like a typical cynical political ploy and for this reason mainstream media commentators are dismissing it as another Conservative bait and switch intended to voters into thinking the Conservatives are not as extreme or authoritarian as Labour before going ahead and doing the exact same thing as their opposition would because both parties are controlled by the dark forces of globalism. Another idea put forward is that Sunak wants to maintain the illusion that Team A and Team B are not exactly the same thing and that voters have a “choice”.

That great American George Carlin often spoke about ‘The illusion of choice’ more than 30 years ago. Governments are trapped between the supra-national globalists, and the woke blob of the civil service, academics and 'The Science.'. 

As globalist policies formulated by unelected bureaucrats in unrepresentative global agencies legislate for more health tyranny, more climate change authoritarianism and more surveillance and control of our daily lives, along with many alt_news creators, fear there is no non-violent way out of this situation and with the G20 group of leading economic powers recently agreeing to implement Digital ID’s and Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) one has the feeling that the net is closing on our freedoms. The hoax pandemic showed how our physical sovereignty, right to free speech and freedom of the road can be withdrawn. Control our money and it’s game over. We will all be slaves to a global, technocratic government.

Many would argue both those things are already here and what is coming down the road is their expansion and refinement, but I don't believe we have yet gone too far to turn things around.

We already have biometric passports in a country like the UK which prides itself on its social liberalism, and in which almost everyone travels abroad.  The US long had an entry permission system (ESTA) as has Australia. The EU is implementing a similar digital border and permission system next year and the UK is in the process of developing a similar policy. In time every 'free' country will follow suit. So we are already nicely put in holding pens where we can roam freely, for now.

As for control of the way money flows, most transactions are  by card or bank transfer. And those transactions are already recorded on databases and carefully monitored. Try doing anything substantial out of the ordinary and you can be sure one of the banks invond demand information on what it is for.

There are some slightly more optimistic notes in this weeks news however.This, from the United States, is the one that gives me most cause for hope.

Perhaps in the US, banks ask less questions, or if they do ask questions more closely related to criminal activity or to the prevention of money laundering, and perhaps, based on what I know of their constitution, US banks have a legal duty and right to refuse to disclose information to the state. We need the supreme courts in Uk, Germany, France, Italy and other European nations to start upholding the constitutions of their states because recently the adjudicative panels, packed with political appointees, have been supine as globalist technocrats have freely trampled on the constitutional rights of citizens

UK Quietly Passes "Online Safety Bill" Into Law

Buried behind the Brand-related headlines yesterday, the British House of Lords voted to pass the controversial “Online Safety Bill” into law. All that’s needed now is Royal assent, which Charles will obviously provide.

 

The bill’s (very catchy) long-form title is…

A Bill to make provision for and in connection with the regulation by OFCOM of certain internet services; for and in connection with communications offences; and for connected purposes.

…and that’s essentially it, it hands the duty of “regulating” certain online content to the UK’s Office of Communications (OfCom).

Ofcom Chief Executive Dame Melanie Dawes could barely contain her excitement in a statement to the press:

“Today is a major milestone in the mission to create a safer life online for children and adults in the UK. Everyone at Ofcom feels privileged to be entrusted with this important role, and we’re ready to start implementing these new laws.”

As always with these things, the bill’s text is a challenging and rather dull read, deliberately obscure in its language and difficult to navigate.

Of some note is the “information offenses” clause, which empowers OfCom to demand “information” from users, companies and employees, and makes it a crime to withhold it. The nature of this “information” is never specified, nor does it appear to be qualified. Meaning it could be anything, and will most likely be used to get private account information about users from social media platforms.

In one of the more worrying clauses, the Bill outlines what they call “communications offenses”. Section 10 details crimes of transmitting “Harmful, false and threatening communications”.

It should be noted that sending threats is already illegal in the UK, so the only new ground covered here is “harmful” and/or “false” information, and the fact they feel the need to differentiate between those two things should worry you.

After all, the truth can definitely be “harmful”…Especially to a power-hungry elite barely controlling an angry populace through dishonest propaganda.

Climate Scare Profiteer Bill Gates Makes Sudden U-Turn On Climate Doom Narrative

Microsoft co-founder, philanthropist, and climate alarmist Bill Gates has backtracked on 'climate doom' prophecies. The writing is on the wall for the political and financial elites, who have long championed imminent climate doom, realizing that the public sees through the charades. 

In 2021 the self appointed global vaccine Czar Bill Gates was warning about the apocalyptic consequences if the world does not achieve zero net carbon emissions by the year 2050. He also promoted his new book, "How to Avoid a Climate Disaster." Well fear sells and Gates knows how to make money.)

But now the Microsoft founder and former world's richest billionaire psychopath seems to have changed his tune on climate catastrophe just as he recently did on COVID vaccines when sold his stock in vaccine maker Bio-n-Tec shortly before admitting the jabs, the development of which he funded and from which he profited hugely, are not safe and do not work. On Thursday, Gates made a sudden U-turn on his climate doom narrative and now expects "No temperate country is going to become uninhabitable."

Gates spoke at a live event at The Times Center in New York and argued: "If you try to do climate brute force, you will get people who say, 'I like climate but I don't want to bear that cost and reduce my standard of living."

He also dismissed planting trees to save the planet, questioning: "Are we the science people or are we the idiots?" he said. "Which one do we want to be?"

Gates' latest comments are a stark difference from just a few years ago when he warned "Fox News Sunday" host Chris Wallace: 

"The migration that we saw out of Syria for their civil war, which was somewhat weather dependent, we're going to have 10 times as much migration because the equatorial areas will become unlivable." 

Gates' U-turn comes as BlackRock CEO Larry Fink abandoned the term "ESG" (environment, social, and governance). And the 'green bubble' is imploding. The way 'green' investments have been losing money this year makes Fink's position understandable but why the change from Gates? Could it be that one of his money making schemes, that of persuading governments to pay one of his companies to block the sun's rays from hitting the earth by spraying clouds of reflective chemicals in the upper atmosphere has been met with the level of ridicule and derision it deserves.how to make bread dough with a mixer

In spite of this apparent change of heart Gates is still eyeing opportunities to profit to the tune of $hundreds of millions from climate changed. He told the New York Times sponsored event, "

“I’m the person who is doing the most on climate in terms of the innovation and how we can square multiple goals,” Gates said, (well nobody ever accused him of underestimating his own importance,) as he argued for a tech-driven approach to tackle climate change. His charitable organisation, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is a major donor to climate causes. And his climate-focused investment firm, Breakthrough Energy Ventures, backs more than a dozen startups developing clean energy solutions, all of which share the goal of making more profits to enable the Gates foundation to fund more for - profit startups which in turn will make even more profits for Gates' philanthropic ventures, all of which seem to make the foundation and Gates himself even wealthier.

"Go To Hell": Brave EU Politician Tells Globalist Politicians And Billionaire Pshycopaths

If you are a regular reader of Boggart Abroad or our other web pages the name of MEP (Member of the European Parliament) Christine Anderson might seem familiar. As the pushback against an elitist power grab that would end democratic government and establish an authoritarian, technocratic global government struggles to gain momentum in the face of a torrent of scaremongering propaganda, Anderson, a member of Germany's AfD party, has been a consistently vociferous opponent of Klaus Schwab’s Word Economic Forum (WEF) and its ‘Great Reset’ and agenda 2030 power grab. 

Previously best known for her famous smackdown on Canadian leader Justin Trudeau,  Anderson has established a reputation for being one of the few politicians left who represent the interests of the European people against the unelected bureaucrats who plan to turn the 27 sovereign states of the European Union into a single federal superstate.

Last week was no different as MEP Anderson did not mince words in her latest undisguised warning to the globalist elite. Speaking in a European Parliament session, specifically focused on the long term effects of COVID-19 response policies imposed on member states by the EU and the World Health Organization, MEP Anderson wrapped up the meeting with a powerful statement on the real agenda behind the hoax pandemic.

 

Here’s a transcript of what she said:

“We just need to find a way to wake the people up. Because the point is simply this: it comes down to a choice. It’s either freedom, democracy, and the rule of law — or enslavement.

 

“There is no such thing in between. There is no such thing as a little freedom, a little democracy, a little rule of law, just as there is no such thing as a little enslavement. So that’s the choice. It comes down to – it’s either the globalitarian misanthropists or the people. It comes down to – it’s either us or them. And that’s, I think, what this really is all about.

“Now, when my colleagues and I were elected to this parliament, there was no question about it. We were on the side of the people because the people actually pay us to act in their best interests. That’s our job. And once again, I will say to every single elected representative around the world, to every single member in every elected government around the world, if you do not unequivocally stand with the people and serve in their best interests, act in their best interests, you have no place in any parliament or in any government. You belong behind bars. You may even rot in hell for all I care at this point because that’s exactly what you deserve if you sell out the people.”

Frau Anderson continued. “Now, I would like to make a promise to the people, and I’m pretty sure I can speak or speak on behalf of my colleagues. We will continue to stand with you, the people. We will continue to fight for freedom, democracy, and the rule of law. We will not shut up, and we will not stop going after those despicable globalitarian misanthropists.

“But we would also like to have you make a promise to us. You may have heard it’s all coming back. The first country is already starting [to talk about] mask mandates in Israel. They’re already imposing it. I’ve heard of a few universities in the United States. They’re already bringing it all back. And I would really like for you, the people, to not go along. Simply say no! They want you to wear a mask; say no. They want you to put in another mRNA shot; say no. They want to impose a curfew on you; say no. That’s really all you have to do.

“And it might not be or might sound a little hard, but it’s actually not that hard. Because once you have made it clear to them that you will no longer go along, once you’ve let them know, they cannot scare you anymore. Because as long as you are afraid of what they might do if you don’t comply, they have power over you. Take the power away from them! Simply say no. Once you do that, they don’t have power over you anymore. You will feel so free. Simply say no.

“And considering what we’ve heard today, and considering what we’ve seen in the last three years. Considering what we know they want to implement, heck, you might even be well within your right to tell them to screw themselves and go to hell! That’s where they belong. What will you get out of that? I can tell you. Once you’ve done that, once you’ve told them to just go to hell, they no longer have power over you. You will have an incredible feeling — kind of like a sensation of freedom will swap through your body. I promise you will feel so relieved.

“And this is the state of mind that I would ask all of you to get to. Simply don’t let them grind you down anymore. You are worth it. You are deserving of just standing up for yourselves. And tell them all to go to hell. Thank you very much.”

WHO DO YOU THINK THE HIGHEST BIDDER FOR YOUR DATA IS? 

In that single speech Christine Anderson pinpoints the real problems facing the world (i.e. We The People,) and identifies the globalist ruling class and their work against the will of the people as the root cause of all those problems.

Most concerning ought to be the marriage of Government and mega Corporations, because this joining of state poer to corporate economic influence was the definition of Benito Mussolini's Fascism.  So much of the economic chaos we are seeing in the liberal democracies, though blamed on the incompetence of hapless political leaders, has been meticulously planned and on a corporate level for the sole purpose of centralising and consolidating power on a single flobal authority and corporate cartels such as Big Pharma, thus squezing out small and medium size companies, to eliminate competition and enslave The People by making them dependent of government for healthcare, housing and essential needs (remember the WEF maxim: "In the future you will own nothing and you will be happy," which contains more that a slight echo of "slavery is freedom, a slogal of the fictional Big Brother regimes in George Orwell's novel '1984'.  

Nothing furthered that cause more than Covid restrictions, where the corner shop was shut down, while Amazon and , Walmart gained market share and boosted profits.  Most of the COVID restrictions, though imposed by governments, were enforced not by the police, but by employers, and the Big Media cartel which though completely biased reporting and slavish adherence to the official narratives presented a totally false picture of what was happening. Corporations became the muscle behind the globalist's unlawful edicts.  It was not jail time that we faced, it was losing our job if we resisted being forced to take bogus COVID tests, or being treated as lepers in medieval society if we refused to accept an experimental, untested, admittedly ineffective and potentially dangerous injection. .  Corporate businesses became the enforcers of  the globalists illegal, unconstitutional and human rights defying orders!

Your employer, your computer and smartphone, maybe even your TV, your banking and credit card activity, travel arrangements, and even your car if you drive a recent model, are all monitoring you for the government.  We all sign agreements or click on the box indicating we accept the terms and conditions but few of us (me included, bother to read  the small print and by doing so learn that buying an item, reading an article or making a phone call requires us to surrender your data which will be sold to whoever is willing to pay the asking price. 

Christine Anderson is right, we must learn to say no,  but not just to the ruling class politicians and their lawless demands, and the mega corps who farm us like cattle for that ruling class, but also to ourselves. NO, I will not buy that 'must have gadget, NO I will not follow the crowd, NO, I WILL NOT COMPLY.

Russia's biggest attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure for many months comes on the eve of the autumnal equinox as Ukrainians prepare as well as they can in difficult circumstances for the winter.

Reports from the Ministry of Truth in Kiev said that the attacks launched last night were the biggest maissile strikes on energy facilities for six months. Russia reportedly launched several cruise missiles from strategic bombers from western Russia. The Ukrainian general staff said 43 cruise missiles were launched, while Ukraine’s air defense shot down 36 out of those but given Ukrainian propagandist's propensity for exaggeration of successes and concealment of setbacks if we reverse those figures the result might be closer to reality.

According to data from United Nations satellites monitoring the conflict the greatest amount of damage was caused in western and central Ukraine, and mostly energy infrastructure was hit. Ukraine says many people were injured in one town where a hotel was hit.  

At least 18 people, including a child, were injured in air strikes, Ukrainian officials admitted to Reuters. 

Al Jazeera, which throughout the war has been one of the more reliable sources of information from the war zone reports Russia launched 'more than 20 long range missiles and 20 targets, mostly energy infrastructure sites, including an electricity distribution hub and an oil refinery were hit were hit. 

There are now towns and cities without power and the authorities are trying to restore electricity supply as fast as they can.

“Winter is coming. Tonight russia renew missile attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure,” Andrii Osadchuk, Member of the Parliament of Ukraine, wrote on Twitter on Thursday.

The attack occurred weeks before the winter heating season in Ukraine begins. We can expect more attacks of this nature as Moscow, sensing that the western powers, irritated by Zelensky's constant demands for more support, appear to be preparing to cease provinding the means for Kiev to escalate the conflict.

Earlier this week, Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine (GTSOU) said it is conducting large-scale preparation for the upcoming heating season.

“In close coordination with the Ministry of Energy, companies and enterprises of the oil and gas, electricity and coal industries are conducting restoration and repair works and preparing the relevant infrastructure for this winter in the conditions of constant military challenges,” GTSOU said on Tuesday.

“Special attention is paid to the reliability of gas transportation on the border with European countries in addition to the usual preparatory measures,” the system operator said.  

It looks like being an even tougher winter for Ukrainian citizens than last year.

Sales Of Electric Cars Fall As Market Forces Bite

Costs and lack of charging network deter drivers

Hyperbolic propaganda of the advantages of 'clean, green' electric cars has been punctured by figures revealing a fall of more than 11 per cent in the sale of zero-emission vehicles to private buyers.

Commenting on the figures released this week The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders said that motorists are being put off buying electric because of the high cost of the vehicles, (an entry level electricv family car costs as much as fossil fuel powered, executive range model from a quality brand,) uncertainty about whether a government ban on petrol and diesel cars can be enforced, the difficulty of selling EVs on the second hand market, the cutting of financial incentives, range anxiety and fears about the lack of an adequate public charging network.

Ministers and the industry have been waxing lyrical about the rise in sales of electric cars for years, claiming  rising sales has been a sign that Britain is ready to move from the “early adopter” stage of battery electric vehicle (BEV) ownership to mass market. Funny how the rise came to an abrupt end once buyer subsidies were removed, just as it had in Germany, Denmark and Sweden.

However, the number of electric cars bought in the first half of 2023 was down on the comparable period of the previous year, with the huge drop in sales to private buyers accounting for most of the loss of sales. Fleet operators and contract hire companies continued to support the electrification of personal transport as their businesses still benefit from subsidies and tax breaks while incentives to private buyers have largely disappeared.

In his review of net zero policies, deatiled in a televised speech today, Rishi Sunak announced postponment of the proposed ban on the sale of new petrol and diesel cars from 2030 to 2035.  But it is by no means certain the car industry can actually meet that target as there are already vast acreages of what was formerly agricultural land now pack with thousand of unsalable electric vehicles as the predicted public enthusiasm for flushing money down the toilet failed to materialise.

While headline sales of electric cars might seem to be healthy  the details tell a different story. Sales to corporate buyers are buoyant, encouraged by a favourable company car tax regime. But sales to private buyers are faltering. In the first half of the year, 37,000 private buyers bought an electric car, down from 41,800 a year earlier. So how can total sales have held up?

The fleet operators, large corporations and car hire companies, are given huge discounts (up to 40%) on list prices because they buy bulk. On top of this there are subsidies and tax breaks for buying electric. These corporate owners then tend to replace the vehicles they buy as an early stage in the car's life. And a lot of the electric cars bought last year are now choking up the showrooms and forecourts of second hand car dealers. The dealers are already refusing to take more pre - owned EVs, simply because they can't shift existing stock so by next year we can expect to see fleet sales dropping because the operators will not be able to offload existing stock at acceptable prices. 

So far, the private market for electric cars has been dominated by wealthy early-adopters buying them as second cars, town runabouts for shopping trips and school runs. The reasons of those buyers for choosing electric include virtue signalling, impressing the neighbours and simply ostentatious displays of wealth. Downmarket a little, pragmatism has a much greater bearing on the buyers choice

It is painfully clear that electric cars are not yet selling themselves on their merits. They have been sold with the help of of generous grants and tax breaks from government and huge amounts of free publicity from mainstream media, but now those government incentives are winding down and news media are losing interest,  buyers are looking more critically at the problems of owning an electric car: namely the higher purchase price, the short range, the length of time it takes to recharge and the paucity of the recharging network.

Maybe one day someone will launch a competitively priced electric car which can travel 500 miles between charges and takes no more than 15 minutes to recharge, at which point electric cars will become as useful as petrol ones. Toyota has claimed it will produce such a car by the end of the decade, (but don't bet your life savings on it.) In the meantime, the government is trying to force a product on motorists which they are going to be reluctant to buy.

The obvious answer would be to allow motorists to gravitate towards electric cars gradually via hybrids. The trouble is that the government has promised to outlaw new sales of these too. As a result, the industry has been disincentivised from developing the concept of a hybrid. Most of the hybrids on offer are really just token efforts – ‘mild’ hybrids designed to extend the life of existing ranges while meeting government targets, but which will spend most of their time being powered with large, gas-guzzling petrol engines.

It's all bollocks really.
